Anyone know a good place to print cheap but cute birthday party invitations online?

Joe D

I want to design something simple and cute to print and have shipped soon in the next week or two. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't have the time to make anything myself. Any good websites or ways I can do this (on the computer- want to order and have printed- can't print at home). Don't want to do anything by hand. I also don't want a photo card- I know those are cheap though.

Any ideas are much appreciated- Im running out of time. Thank you so much!

There are many invitations to search from here (the first few are photo invitations so you just have to click through to get the the non-photo invitations): http://www.einvite.com/category/party/birthday/kids/?Cobrand=8KF0IK&Site=eInvite&vk=1777211146

Birthday Invitations?

Samantha

I am planning my boyfriends 25th birthday party and am planning on doing a Luau Theme. I want to get really nice invitations, so is there any site that does free printable or fairly inexpensive luau theme or Hawaiian theme invitations. I would like to be able to have them printed so if a site does that, Im willing, as long as it is not crazy expensive. I only need about 30 invitations and I dont want to spend more the $40 so if anyone has any ideas, let me know please!!!

there is a luau printable here

Etiquette question about Birthday Party invitations?

P H

It seems to be a growing fad in our suburban area to put a registry list and gift ideas on children's birthday party invitations. Our son has recently been invited to 3 parties where the invites include places where the child is registered, clothing sizes, and favorite colors, action figures and so on.
To me, this seems a little "out there" for children's parties. While I understand children do sometimes receive multiple gifts of a certain item, giving me a registry list to a very upscale children's clothing boutique where the cheapest item is listed at $50 seems a little outrageous. I cannot imagine these 5 and 6 yr. olds chose to go register for their party, so is this growing trend really just a fad or something that is happening other places?
I do want to add this..to the 2nd responder..we are in an affluent area, but that is no excuse still. I will go on to say that one invitation did include a little note saying the childs room had just been decorated in a military motif and any military type things would be a hit with the birthday child. I can accept that...it left me with a ton of possible gift ideas and I appreciate that. I just cannot wrap my mind around placing clothing sizes, shoe sizes and actual registry lists or places to visit where the child is registered. This isn't a wedding...it's a child's birthday celebration!

Answer
I think it's extremely tacky and presumptuous. I live in a nice suburb too. Birthday parties have become so extravagant. What do the kids have to look forward too? I admit it's convenient to have a party outside of the home at a themed venue like a bouncing party, laser tag, etc. However, a gift registry is too much. I'm leaning towards the other extreme of saying "Please - No Gifts" on my son's next party invitation simply because he has everything he could possibly want and we're filled to the brim with toys. We're fortunate as parents to be able to provide for him.

By inviting a guest to a birthday party, you're asking them to share in your celebration. In my opinion, it's not about the gifts and I don't want my son to think it is his chance to get everything he wants in the world.

I like to give themed gifts like pool toys and a beach towel for spring/summer birthdays or themed pajama and toothbrush sets. Most kids need pajamas or a beach towel. This solves the problem of what to give a child you don't know well or who has everything. The other thing I do is let my son pick out the gift and go with that idea (within reason).

Give what your child wants to give. Don't feel obligated by a registry.

13th birthday party ideas? cheap?

My

my little sister is turning 13 soon and since my family is low income and she really wants a party, I decided to pay for it for her. it needs to be cheap or even free depending on your creativity because I just started at McDonald's and I'm already saving. it doesn't need to be big either. I'm 16 so something easy and cheap would be great. please and thanks I really want to make this special for her! her birthday is September so it could be outside depending on the weather.

Answer
About 2 months before her birthday, follow these steps:
- First thing you have to do is pick a date, time and location (at home is the cheapest choice!). If your house has a backyard hold the party there. It also can be in a park but you may have to pay a fee.
- Start to make a guest list. This is essential to calculate the amount of food and drink, and since you're on a low budget, keep the list small.
- Ask your sister if she wants a theme. I will give generic ideas because themed parties can lead to higher spending.

1 month before:
- Send invitations. Making your own invitations is cheaper than buying them ready. One day I received an invitation for a 15th birthday party, it was a plain white envelope, inside was a card and when I pulled the card a pinch of star confetti slipped out. I found it very cute. It was a cardstock card decorated with little glitter stickers and the informations (date, time...) were handwritten. You can make your own invitations, design an art on your pc or print them from a web page for free:

http://www.greetingsisland.com/invit/invitations.aspx?card=Stylish-birthday&id=1363
http://www.greetingsisland.com/invit/invitations.aspx?card=Colorful-birthday-party&id=1331
- Shop for party supplies. I personally think that buying disposable plates, cups and cutlery is an unnecessary expense. Use the plates and cups you have at home. Borrow! Not everything needs to be coordinated, can be mismatching. It's cool! Buy only napkins and other materials for decoration: some balloons and crepe paper to make pompoms. Here is a tutorial: http://www.thebusybudgetingmama.com/2010/08/diy-tissue-pom-poms.html

2 to 3 weeks before:
- Plan a few games. Play games that don't need many materials: charades, musical chairs, telephone. Make a treasure hunt with items you have at home. If you sister has board games, play them as well.
- Decide on the menu. I have noticed that limiting the party to determined treat or food comes out cheaper, for example, ice cream party, bbq party, pizza party...I suggest pizza because there's always a topping to please the pickiest eater, plus pizza is filling so you don't need tons of them. Purchase prepared pizza dough in a discount grocery and just throw sauce, cheese and any topping you want the just heat. For drinks, buy in bulk large bottles of soda, they're cheaper than individual cans.

1 week ahead:
- Call any guest who have not responded.

2 to 3 days ahead:
- Go shopping any food you will serve. Bake any treat that can be made ahead.
- If you will give favors, assemble them. Now, think "discount stores"...make cellophane bags and buy items such as stickers, mini soaps, glitter pens, little tubes of facial scrub. Put them in the bags and tie with ribbon. It's not expensive if you buy in the right places. But if it's too much, you can skip the favors. Instead buy prizes for the winners of the games.

The day before:
- Clean the party area.
- Bake a cake. Yes, baking a cake is way cheaper than ordering one. Bake a simple sheet cake, frost and top with colorful sprinkles. You can use boxed cake mix to make your life easier.

4 hours before:
- Set up the party area. Arrange chairs, fill and hang the balloons and pompoms, put candles on the cake, stack the plates...

1 hour before:
- Set up food - my suggestion is pizza, but can be whatever you want - and drinks.
- Turn on music and wait the guests!

When shopping think Costco, Family Dollar, Sam's club, BJ'S...Stretch every single dollar, honey. It seems difficult but it's not. I'm a party planner and I assure, takes work, but it's not difficult and you don't need to spend a lot of money. Hope this helps. Get creative and have fun!

What are good ideas for a Japanese themed 15 year old girls birthday party?

Ashina

My best friend Kacie a.k.a Haruko's is planning on having a Japanese themed birthday party. I know alot more than her and I am trying to find out more. Ok she said the attire is to dress in a Kimono (which is uncommon around here) or Visual Kei, Ninja for the boys that are attending etc. I have ordered a kimono and geta ^__^ Hahaha I am losing focus. Ok so we know to hand out chopsticks and paper fans as party favors. I told her temporary Kanji tatoos would be good as well. And decorations she has not really decided but a big banner at the door and the invitations should have their names in Japanese, ne? As for food we live in middle of nowhere Alabama and we need to know where to find Sushi and Squid for rather cheap. And also the instant Yakisoba I think would be good. But decorations also paper lanterns. But could you tell me of more foods, decorations, etc? She is very important to me and I want to gelp her the best I can.

music: An Cafe, Alice Nine, Gazette, I know plenty more I am just not sure her parents would approve and she dosen't care for traditioanl -_-

Invitations: The guests name in Japanese and also it would be good if the invatations are folded into origami shapes right?

What's the best place to have a kid's birthday party?

Q. My daughter will be 3 in a couple weeks, and I wanted to throw her a birthday party with her friends from daycare. What is the easiest, cheapest, nicest place to have a party? Fast food restaurant suggestions welcome.

Answer
The best thing you can do is ask permission to do the birthday party at the daycare . That way all the kids are there ,as well as the teachers, assistants etc... As long as you know how many ppl you gonna deal with ,you are ok to go shopping and buy what you need to do this party at teh daycare.

But if you are friends with all the kid's mom , than handing out invitations is the best way to go ,to take the party out of the classroom and a more exciting place for kids like chucky cheese or a playground where you can make reservations.

Cheapest would be in the daycare. You dont have to pay for the place or anything. Just buy a few balloons, birthday hats for kids, some chips, juice, candy and bring in the cake!!!!! That is what im gonna next month for my soon to be 4 yr old!

What are some fun and creative themes for a teen birthday party?

I'm turning 15 in the spring and I need fun ideas for a birthday party. I'm not sure whether to have it at home or somewhere else, so if there are any good ideas that'd be great. There'll prolly be about 10 to 15 people.

Answer
Congratulations. Your asking at the right time as a good party needs time to organise.
Home would probably be the cheapest, giving you more money to spend on the party. You could colour theme the party, everything is BLACK & lime green for example or neon. Every-one has to come wearing the colour theme. The colour theme could extend to the invitations, decorations or even the food (depending on what colours you choose!)
A movie party would be cool, get a few scary movies, plenty of popcorn, candy and juice, turn the lights out and get scared!
Have a glam party, all you mates can spend time (lots of it) getting really glammed up, and then if it's affordable hire a limo and drive round town for an hour, have a drive though! (My daughter did this, we couldn't really afford it, but all her mates were happy to chip in a nominal amount and it ended up really cheap!)
I hope you like the ideas, there's some more on my website
What ever you do have a really happy birthday
