You can still use the card-making software for invitations. Just use it to make an invitation...

On the cover put something like:
It's a Party!

And on the inside put the date, time, place, and anything else.

birthday party crisis!?

Carissa

okay, so my daughter is having her 10th birthday soon. we want her 2 have the BEST party possible! but we're on a very tight budget! probably around 100 dollars! she is really counting on me! she was hoping for a hollywood party! but if she does have a hollywood party, she can have 10ppl. if any additional help, family. she has lots of boy cousins too. in grove city, ohio, what is a great hotel that is cheap enough for at least 5 girls?!

Answer
You could try a water battle.
Make invitations to look like flipflops or sandles and add a line to have everyone be ready to get wet and to bring a water gun. You could fill up a bunch of water balloons and have buckets of water around the yard for those quick refills. Maybe split the group into teams and set a goal. You can usually get some fun summer themed items at the dollar stores this time of year and you could set the mood that way. And check wal-marts party aisle for little umbrellas for drinks and sunglasses party favors etc.

13th Birthday Party Ideas!!!!!?

Princess13

13th Birthday Party coming up. It is Halloween Themed and there will be about 20 girls.
So far I have:
Scavenger Hunt around neighborhood
Watch Movie (w/ pizza and snacks)
Halloween Costume Contest
Decorate Ice Cream Sundaes to eat with Cake

I need some game, prizes, and movie ideas.

Answer
i'm definatly having a halloween party too(:
so i have some ideas for you!!

BEFORE PARTY-

-definatly make your entrance or even better house/apartment as scary and haunted as possible(:
(spider webs, dark lights, if possible a strobe light is always fun :DD)

- if you haven't sent invitations already..send halloween ones! it makes it more fun!

-have a halloween cake!

DURING PARTY-

i love your ideas! they always make a party fun(:
but you can also do this..

-fear factor!
make it dark and put mashed potatoes in a bowl and have them guess what body part it feels like..it can feel pretty nasty! you could also do jello, rotton eggs, rice, noodles, etc(:

-you could bob for marshmellows! instead of apples you use marshmellows and instead of a mouth..use a straw! it is hard but very fun :DD

-make your garage a haunted room! put black around the walls..when they first walk in..have a halloween cd playing and have all sorts of things like skelatons hanging from the ceiling..and have a strobe light if possible with your family in costume popping out of places!! this will make them scared..but will be funny afterwards!

-you could play silly string games with orange and black and purple silly string! they are always fun(:

-you could put down a giant piece of tarp in your yard, put the hose all over it and sprinklers on, put conditionar and oil on it...and have a giant slip n' slide!!

PRIZES-

for the halloween costume contest and other games you may think of your prizes could be..

-1st place could have a gift card to a halloween place like spirit..or party city or even a gift card to a place most people go to anytime like starbucks or the mall

-you could put candy in them (obviously!)

-silly halloween novelties :DD

-maybe put a scary movie in the prize baskets!

sorry my prizes aren't very creative(:

MOVIES-
if you want to watch scary scary!

-white noise
-the grudge
-friday the 13th
-prom night
-disturbia
-halloween

if you want funny scary..
-scary movies (those are the titles!)
-the nightmare before christmas
-coraline is kinda creepy..
-TWILIGHT!
-harry potter movies

if you just want plain old funny-
-the parent trap
-confessions of a shopaholic
-17 again
-night at the musuem 2
-mall cop
-hancock
-made of honor

if you want romance(:
-twilight :D
-a walk to remember
-the notebook (might have some..odd parts!)
-titanic..(might have 1 part you can't see)

if you want a musical..
-hairspray
-mamma mia!
-sound of music
-mary poppins
-all of the disney classics!

if you want chick flick
-bratz
-mean girls
-my big fat greek wedding
-bride wars
-the house bunny
-sisterhood of the traveling pants 1 and 2
-enchanted
-27 dresses

I hope i helped with your party somewhat!!

Sixteenth Birthday Party?

kid

Ok, im turning 16 this May, and I want to have a party with 8-15 kids, depending on the party. I have been really looking into a paintball party, but it seems to be getting really expensive. I need some other ideas for a birthday party. Please give me a bunch of ideas or experiences you have of a fun birthday. Thanks!

Answer
Cool. 16th birthday parties are the best some ideas R:

reserve a local skating rink for a private party.

retro- birthday party is a very popular birthday theme nowadays. The invitation cards can be written on cards and attached to the big sunglasses of the 1950s. This will make it different from the regular boring invitation cards. The guests can be asked to dress up in the fashion of the 1950s like poodle skirts, leather jackets and glitter tops. Big golden wigs can also be worn. You can also arrange for a juke box and a soda corner to further spice up the party. Popular music of the 1950s can be played to create the mood.

A starlit musical night party can be a sweet sixteen birthday party idea. The party can be arranged in your garden or backyard on a full moon night. If there are not much stars in the sky, then you can intensify the mood by using wax candles for lighting instead of electric light. You can also have a music corner where songs can be played and dedicated on request.

Dance parties would do great if itâs a co-ed party. Select some of your daughterâs favorite numbers and decorate the place with disco lights and mirror balls. You can even take the guests to a nearby nightclub, or hire a DJ to your place.

Beach parties are always fun in summer. Beach games and good beach music to dance to would make the party something your 16 year old would love

Hope I helped a little
well anyway happy 16th birthday!!

Dance Birthday Party.?

Q. I am having a dance for my 13th birthday, it is coming up in about a week and I don't have my invitations out yet. I was wondering what my invitations should look like and what they should say. Thanks.
I can't push my party back a week because I am renting out a place.

Answer
you should push your party back another week. because it seems 1 week isn't going to be enough time & a lot of people may not be able to go. your invitations should be a music note or something that has to do with dancing like a figure of a break dancer ect. like how you see those commercials for apple& they have those dancers, you could find a picture of one of those dancers & make the text on top, or something else...

HELP!!! My little girl is turning 3 and she loves little Einstein's but i need the party decorations?

none

Can anyone help me , i need to locate the Little Einstein's (not baby einsteins) party decorations for my little girls birthday party in Jan. I know i got time but i wanted to start getting things together and i cant find this stuff anywhere... can anyone lead me into the right direction ;o). Thank you

Answer
Little einsteins party supplies are not available at this point in time. But I found a site that will help you. It tells you how to decorate. and even gives some games and activities to do as well.

LITTLE EINSTEINS PARTY INVITATIONS
Use bright red cardstock paper to cut a "rocket ship" shape.
On the front write...
"We've got a mission!"
Inside message...
"We're going on a trip with our favorite rocket ship
to celebrate ____'s birthday!"
Then add the party details.

LITTLE EINSTEINS PARTY DECORATIONS
For the time being, Little Einstein's merchandise is unavailable.
However, you can achieve your theme with solid colored party items; streamers, plates balloons etc. and some imagination.
Visit your local educational supply store to find instrument posters
and cut-outs, posters of classic artists and places around the world.
You may want to try a travel agency for posters and a used bookstore
for old art books that you wouldn't mind using for cutouts.

The playhouse Disney website has print and color sheets to
use for placements and/or a quiet activity during the party.

To make a fun table centerpiece...
cut the top off of a clean 1/2 gallon cardboard milk box and cover it
with construction paper. Use construction paper, glue stick and markers
to make the Little Einsteins characters - just faces will do. Attach a face on each side of the carton. Place a weighted bouquet of balloons into the or candy into the bottom of the container and
Tip: Not feeling creative? Hire an artistic teen to make the faces!
Or, cut four works of art from a magazine/book, use them on the sides
of the carton instead -- Van Gogh, Degas, Monet...
Solid colored party items, personalized stickers, and fun party favors

LITTLE EINSTEINS PARTY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES
Play some fun birthday party games with your child's favorite Little Einstein characters.

Orchestra Ocean Treasure Hunt
You'll need plastic or paper cut-outs of various instruments.
You can find the cut-outs at your local teaching supply store.
If you can find a recording of sample instrument sounds,
that would be ideal. Otherwise, trace the outline shapes of
the various instruments onto large pieces of paper.

Place the instruments (toy or paper) around the party area and give the children a wagon or basket for collecting the instrument clues that they will find. They can take turns pulling the wagon or holding the basket.

When you play the instrument sound or show the outline shape, the children will locate that instrument and place it in the wagon. When all
of the clues have been found each child will receive a special treasure!

Dance, Dance, Dance Like June
Play some classical music. Making a combination CD before the party is best. Make sure the CD has a variety of composers, tempos, rhythmic patterns etc. Encourage the children to dance like June.
This activity is even more fun if the kids dance like a lion, elephant,
mouse etc...Variation - turn this into a follow the leader game.

Vrooom -- The Great Rocket Race
Kids will love to race with their very own pretend rockets.
Don't let Big Jet win the race!
Before the party cut the tops and bottoms from cardboard boxes.
Paint the boxes with spray paint or latex brush paint. On the sides of the boxes, cut two kid-size holes so that the children can step into the boxes and hold the sides. Add headlights by covering two cardboard circles with aluminum foil. Attach with a stapler or strong glue. If your party guests are older, they may want to decorate their own rockets with craft foam sticker shapes, ribbons, stickers, markers etc. Use some paper streamers to mark a start and finish line. "PAT,PAT,PAT- BLAST-OFF!" and away they go!

Leo the Conductor
Before the party make or purchase conductor's batons for each guest.
Keep safety in mind -- no running or placing the baton into their mouths.
Make the batons with pieces of wood dowel, wooden beads
or styrofoam balls and non-toxic paint.

Give each child a baton. Play your classical music again and have the children conduct the orchestra. Learn the terms you'll need to know
before the party...
adagio â slow
allegro â fast
largo â very slowly
Crescendo - gradually get louder
Diminuendo - gradually quiet down

More fun with Little Einsteins
Add a few more activities appropriate for your party space.

Have a circle time with singing, clapping and instruments.
Stick to songs your comfortable with or use a CD and sing along!

"Pat your laps for power!" -- gather the kids into a circle.
Have them crouch down and slowly pat their laps while saying
"pat, pat, pat" They'll get gradually faster and louder until they
jump up and say -- "Blast -Off!"

Free art with paint, smocks and a covered table of course.

Make instruments with paper plates, TP tubes, film canisters, paper,
crayons etc. Preschool websites will have tips to help.

Blow Bubbles, play with play dough, blocks, and coloring sheets.
You can find coloring sheets here ...

Set up exploration tables, with shells, feathers, animal pictures...

Record the birthday star's favorite Little Einstein Adventure
and show it at the end of the party.

Party Favors
Fill a solid colored party bag with...
instrument stickers, bubbles, play dough, crayons and animal cookies.
Use postcards of famous art work, cardstock paper and a glue stick to
make a puzzle the guests can take home. Glue the card onto the paper. Cut into four or five pieces and place the puzzle into a plastic bag.

Rocket Ship Cake

You'll need:
A standard cake mix, equally divided into a round baking pan
and a dome shaped pan from a craft store or use a 2-1/2 quart
oven proof glass baking bowl.
Two snack cakes "twinkies"
Red and blue food color paste
white frosting
2 large yellow gumdrops or NECCO candies
red decorating tube or decorator bag with a piping tip

Bake, cool and remove the cakes from the pans.
Mix the red color paste with white frosting to achieve a vibrant red.
Mix a small portion of the blue paste to achieve the blue for
Rocket's windows.

Frost the round cake with red. Place the dome on top and slightly towards one edge leaving room for the headlights. Frost the dome with red, leaving space for the window. Frost the window with blue frosting and then outline it with red piping.
Cover the Twinkies with red frosting and place on the sides of the rocket. Add the yellow gumdrop or NECCO candy headlights.

TIP: Place the cake on an aluminum foil covered cookie sheet or sheet of cardboard and then frost.

Hope this helps.

Lego birthday party ideas?

Janet

My son is turning 6 next month. We are having his bd party at a children's museum, but he'd still like a Lego theme since he is obsessed with them.
I am moderately creative and am trying to keep expenses low. Any good ideas for party favors or decorations?
Thanks!

Answer
firstly the cake. you could create or get someoneto make a lego themes birthday cakes there's lots of different types of lego cakes if you search them you will see all the different ones (http://0.tqn.com/d/entertaining/1/0/q/M/LegoCake-TamiM.jpg) you can also buy molds to bake cake in lego people/ brick shapes.
you can also make some easier cookies which look like lego. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk-6z6RPDUdOlfZB0u1E0xj_b1cy1LA1IAtJa0vlMLuoBQ5dos662F3dHoc-FxUVhSN-dMsO01OwGm91FX03K2Oz11GFp2A_35bPZUNN69_2N8nQWuKjubuL1c_RnhhJSXdjoInTAgllA/s1600/Lego%20cookies.JPG

lego invites (http://makingmemorieswithyourkids.com/2012/06/lego-birthday-party-invitations/)

lego party bags https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixqB_2fvg-ovubRmpSy-ua5yoOKAem8cOsTLyH682KhNnvC8GuLU8uClycLiYoZpbY5mfgN2IzHUlJ44F3vwTPQrmH_v4NB9dY_-n1LQ4sfZj9y1kX990R7EWhUP1DkY0gIG_7HJ8cNmw/s1600/20101106_28.JPG

you just get a normal paper bag then add 6 circles the same colors to make it look like a lego.

you could play pin the donkey on the tail but instead putting a lego face on the lego person.

you could get yellow cups and draw lego faces on (http://thatmomblog.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/2012-09-10-17-22-54.jpg)

hope this has helped

Need a idea for a party invitation lego indiana jones theme?

erich's ma

Need a idea for a party invitation lego indiana jones theme?
I'm making the invitation myself . I have my son who is turning 8 dressed up in the costume from halloween . That's all i got . Now im trying to think of a away to write something . That's not hey having a birthday party when and where . I want something different creative way but . The reason im making them is they don't sell Lego indiana jones theme , if you have any ideas thanks !!

Answer
On the box of the game, it says "Indiana Jones, the original adventure"; maybe you could use the same graphics but change the wording to "(your sons name), the original birthday party" and have a picture of him in the background. In the inside or farther down the invitation put down the date, time, etc. Are you having a scavenger hunt? You could include that in the invitation. That would go along with the whole Indiana Jones theme. If you are having a scavenger hunt, put pictures of the items throughout the invitation to give them a hint on what they will be looking for. Maybe give a prize for the person who wins.

I just did a web search and here is a website that makes them:

http://personalizedpartyinvites.com/birthdaypartyinvitations/2009/10/05/lego-indiana-jones-invitation-new/

Here is another website with some info on that theme:

How early to send out 2 year old birthday party invitations?

Captain

Her party will be on April 24th. Do you recommend 6 or 4 weeks in advance? Do you recommend regular mail (or hand out) instead of email or facebook invites?

If it matters, her party is on a Saturday from 4pm-7pm.

Thanks!
Not everyone is fortunate enough to get weekends off. I know some of my family/friends require 4-6 weeks notification to get a day off work. I thought that was being polite. 2 weeks for our out of town visitors doesn't seem like enough time to plan. Some people are coming from very far away.

Answer
6 to 4 weeks? This is not a wedding, this a two year old birthday party!

Send them regular mail on or around April 10th.

EDIT: Again, this is a two year old birthday party. This should about the child, not the adults. We invited CHILDREN to a CHILDREN's BIRTHDAY PARTY

16th birthday party ideas?

random gir

so for my 16th birthday(i'm a girl), i don't want a big party thing (like a bat mitzvah) i wan't something different. a lot of my friends are doing dinner in the city (new york) so i want to do something unforgettable. I need a few ideas on things to do. But i already ruled out some stuff like the spa and a water park. i won't get into a lot of detail about what i like so some basic ideas are fine. thank youuuu!

Answer
Dance Party
Cut music notes out of black paper, write the party information on them using a white pencil and send them out as invitations. Move furniture out of the room where the party is going to be held to create a dance floor. Tape CD cases with various singers onto the walls. Put streamers all around the room that are the birthday girl's favorite colors. Hang an inexpensive disco ball from the ceiling. Create a mix of the birthday girl's favorite music for the guests to dance to. Make homemade pizza and snacks for the guests to munch on between dances.

Hollywood Party
Cut a large star out of a piece of white construction paper to make invitations. Remember to let the guests know that this is a Hollywood party and they should dress accordingly. Hang magazine pictures of famous Hollywood stars around the party room. Host a pretend award show, having the birthday boy make up categories and give out handmade awards to his winning friends. Categories can include most creative evening wear and best hairstyle, or create awards specific to his friends' personalities. Serve food inexpensive food such as pasta or meatballs. Serve the guests' soft drinks in plastic champagne flutes.

Outdoor Party
Glue leaves and sticks around the edge of piece of cardstock and write party information in the middle to spread the word about thisparty. Decorate an outdoor party area with tiki torches and helium-filled birthday balloons. Lay out decorative blankets for guests to sit on. Set up different stations where kids can play such games as badminton, croquet and horseshoes. Have a water-balloon toss right before the food is served. Grill hot dogs and hamburgers and make s'mores over the barbecue.

Is this tacky... childs birthday party invitations?

Nina Lee

I decided to give in to his persistence and let him have his (4th) birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.

Is it tacky to write something to the effect of "children's lunch will be served" on the invites?????

Also... do you pay for the adults???

(We are expecting approx 16 children and 20+ adults.)
Served isn't the word I'm looking for. Can someone help me out?
provided... that's the one, lol
Is it tacky though or understood?
I'm looking at over $200 for the kids alone.

Answer
Actually it's generally understood that when a child is invited to a Bday party at a child's place such as Chuck E. Cheese, lunch is included. it wouldn't be tacky to write that on the invites, but it isn't necessary, I don't think.

As far as adults go, NO WAY!!
You pay for the children invited and that's it....not even the siblings of the invitees. Just be sure to address the invitation to the child you are inviting instead of the "Baker family" or whatever. When I invite children to my kids' parties, I always address the envelope with only the child's name on the front so there is no confusion about whether or not all of the children in the family are invited. This may sound mean, but in reality, why would my turning nine year old son want a three year old little girl at his party just because the older brother is there?
If parents MUST bring the other children (or themselves) , they should expect to have to pay the way of the other child, right?

Have fun:-)

Birthday Invitations?

Angel

My son is having a fourth birthday party. When you send the invitations to other children do you put the children's name on the envelope or the parents?

Answer
Personally I like to put the childs name! It makes it so much more fun for the child attending the party! I also like to personalize each place setting and candy bags! It also helps to know which kids pizza is which! You son should also remember that it's not all the presents that matter it's who's there to help him during his growing years~ and to have fun with his friends! And since he's turning four. I would suggest to have your son help write out the thank you notes before hand. And have him pass them out to each of his friends and family that show up. That way both he and they feel special. And for those that don't come he can still give him the thank you note later. And just thank them that they tried to come. GOOD LUCK!

Birthday Invitation?

choosingha

My son's best friend's mom sent my son an invitation to her son's 4th birthday party and she only included my son's name on the envelope and on the invitation. But my son is only 4 years old. For example, she only wrote "Ethan J." instead of "Ethan J. and family".

How would I confirm and write on an email whether or not my spouse and I are invited? Of course, I know the parents are invited but I want to be sure with her. We communicate via email sometimes so that's why I said email and not the phone.
I haven't got my question answered yet. My question was "How would I write in an email to her and ask her if this is for only a child and/or their parents as well?

Answer
I think it is expected that the parents will stay during a 4th birthday. But if you are unsure, why not just email her with something like "We would love to attend the party. Is there anything I can do to give you a hand during the party?"

That way you are letting her know that you intend to stay, and also being helpful. Birthday parties can get hectic at that age and she will probably be glad to know that someone is willing to lend a hand.

Invitation wording for a 50th birthday party?

ntsassy

My husband and I will both turn 50 this year. We're catering an outdoor party (live band, bbq, outdoor movie, etc.) Can anyone help with the wording for the invitation? Something funny? The 'only' thing I want people to bring is their lawn chairs. There will be about 75 people attending - mostly adults, some children.

I also need help in deciding how much liquor to have on hand. I'll probably buy 2 kegs as far as beer is concerned. I have a margarita machine. Any ideas?

Answer
I have been hearing a lot of Fabulous at Fifty . You could say something like; Come join us for double the fun- Fabulous at Fifty- You could also say something like; What could be better than BBQ and Beer- No presents just bring yourself and a seat for some outdoor fun, See you there.

Need help planning a 16th birthday party?

kimmy

My daughter's 16th birthday isn't until 2011, but I have no idea where to start, so I am just gathering information and ideas.

It is not going to be a formal "Sweet 16" with all the girls and guys and fancy dresses, just like a big birthday party. She said she would have about 30 friends, so altogether, including the family, we estimate will be between 60-75 people. We know someone who will contribute the cake for the party, so that is not a problem. I would prefer to have someone cater, and would definitely need to do it in some kind of hall or something. I was thinking:

Community Center?
do our own invitations and decorations
have the food catered
maybe hire a freelance photographer (One of the parents I know does this)
We also know a close friend of family that can DJ

I had also thought of sectioning out an area of a restaurant, but then we can't play loud music, which is a big deal. Catering Halls are Super Expensive, and doing it at home is completely out of the question.

Also do I have to give "souveneris" or whatever they are called ...Keepsakes?

I've never done a 16 party, and never been to one, so I have no idea..Thanks

Answer
what about giving the party a theme?
like for example, barbie, if she's into hair extensions, fake tan etc.
or alice in wonderland?
or old hollywood
or guys and dolls etc,
my 16th is coming up, i've themed everything

INVITES
you could roll them up and tie them with a bow
also, if you print the invites on photo paper it makes them look professional,

DRINKS
will alcohol be served? if so, thinkgs WILL get damaged, and there will be stuff happenning, one of my friends mums let her have a ''little bit'' ,we all got wrecked, someone who shall not be name was sick, i ended up doing stuff with this guy, it was horrible, id recommend you don't serve it lol.
soem themes might call for pink drinks, ie pink lemonade, or whatever, remember you can use food colouring. or perhaps cocktail umbrellas if the theme is sophisticated?

FOOD
nibbles ;D
use food colouring again.
you could use cookie cutters based on the theme, that'd be well cool man: L
or like, stuff that fits a theme, perhaps pineaplle etc for a tropical theme, lots of chocolate for a hollywood thing, etc

FAVOURS.
something which fits in with the theme ;)
ie, idk, if it was a hollywood theme, sunglasses for everyone, etc

hope you like this idea.
sorry if i impose,
but coulod you pelase try and answer my question?

Ideas for a 6yr old Little Girl Birthday party?

army4wife

I am trying to plan my daughter's 6th birthday party and have drew a blank on any good ideas. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg to throw the party but want it to be FUN for her and her friends.

HELPPPPPPP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
6 year olds... hmmm...
they'd most probably like a specific character(s)
(i.e barney,dora the explorer,barbie)
ask them and do a party with that theme.

*Color Station: Direct the kids to an area where you have crayons, pencils, coloring books, dot-to-dots, etc. That way you have children occupied until all birthday party guests arrive.

Party supplies:
try to get some stuff from the party shop,
e.g you are doing barbie, you could just buy a banner
with 'happy birthday' on it and print a barbie picture and stick it on, rather than wasting your time finding a barbie-ish banner.(Better not, make one yourself)
Hang balloons around the front of your home.Tape crepe paper streamers to the doorframe, so the guests get to walk through them

Cake, unless you are really talented, get one from the bakery.
Have a picture of her face with her favourite toy or something or her favourite character. You can buy the size of cakes according to how many people attending the party.

Games,well,you could try these:
Red Light / Green Light
Duck Duck Goose
musical chairs
Red Rover
Three-Legged Race
Tag

Or be creative and make some of your own:
Freeze Barbie : All of them be princesses and dance around
when the music stops, they stop.

Makeover Station: Invite each girl to sit down and receive a makeover with face painting, hair ribbons, nail stickers and accessories. You can use glitter makeup, clip-on earrings, hats, crowns, sparkly belts, capes for boys and other accessories. Ask extra adult or teenager to help out with the activity.

Tailor the games to your child's level of development. Age could be a factor, so test a certain game on your child before the party when in doubt.

Have several child birthday party games planned that kids are familiar with. That way you can always rely on "proven games".

If your kid is old enough, ask him or her what child party games and activities he or she wants to have during the party. Your kid will feel great about his or her contribution to overall party success.

Goodie Bags can be bought from one-dollar stores.
If princess themed, buy plastic crowns and give it to them.
Bring home samples from make-up stores and let them try it and decorate their own face/your face. It also helps build their creativity.

Prepare a favor bag for each birthday party guest. Fill bags with items such as tiaras, confetti, necklaces, sunglasses, little notebooks, stickers, candy, bubble gum, and so on.

For an additional activity, have guests decorate their own bags at the start of the party with stickers, stamps, and crayons.

Invitation Cards

Here's how to make your own birthday party invitations. Cut out 8x10 postcards from a colorful cardstock paper. Fold postcards in half. Glue a photo of your child on the inside flap.

Write "It's A..." above the picture and "___ Party (e.g barbie doll) below it with glitter glue. Include birthday party details on the other side of the invitation. Put invitations in envelopes with a sprinkle of glitter for a special touch.

Food

Pizza Faces: Split pizza dough and top them with shredded cheese and pizza sauce. Let the kids decorate them as their own pizza. Children may use pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and peppers to make funny faces. Then, bake it.

Heart-shaped Sandwiches: Make sandwiches and cut them into heart shapes.

Star Cookies: Prepare the birthday child's favorite cookies. Cut into star shapes before baking. Decorate with sprinkles.

Yummy Bowl :Have candies and lollipops in a bowl on your party table.

Try to find out what are the taste buds of party guests (e.g allergies) to cater to their food taste. After all, you want your child and her friends to feel good.

THANKS!

Answer
60's Party
Invitation:
Front: Peace Symbol, Flower Power
Your invited to a Groovy Birthday Party
Inside:
Day:
Time:
Location:
RSVP:
Dress to go back in time to the 60's

Flower Power - Daisy Smiles
from Birthday in a box

Decorations:
Hang beads in all the doorways the party guests will pass through. Check out novelty shops. Place colored light bulbs in all lamps and sockets. Using large poster board or banner paper and neon tempera paint, make signs declaring, "Flower Power," "Love not War," " Peace." Make lots of tissue paper flowers and Smiley faces, Ying and Yang symbols, peace sign symbols etc. Hang of honey-combed paper balls from the ceiling.

Cake and Food:
Large round cake decorated as a Daisy, Smiley or Peace symbol.
Or Cupcake smiley's and other designs

Frost a double layer cake with white icing and then drop food coloring on it and then run a toothpick through it and it will look like a tie dye cake.
Goodie Bags:
Loot bags can be made out of one piece of brown or tan construction paper. place the paper vertically and fold slightly above the center of the paper. glue sides together making a pouch. Fringe the top of the paper and fold it down slightly over the center of the paper to make a little pouch. Using a hole punch, punch a hole in the top corner on each side of the pouch. cut a long piece of ribbon or yarn and pull one end through each hole. Make the ends even and tie a knot. Fill the pouch with plastic beads, stickers candy, groovy necklaces, bracelets, etc. Seal the pouch with a smiley sticker or a sticker of some sort.

Games and Activities:
A simple craft idea would the to get a badge-maker and let the kids design pins with 60's symbols. Most teacher stores carry the badge making kits. Just make sure you have enough materials for each kid to make 2 or 3 badges. Keep a sample of the paper circle supplied in your kit so you can cut additional circles from ditto paper and they will fit the badge press. Supply neon makers and glitter pens for decorating paper circles.

Make head bands:
fun foam or felt. Have 1 inch wide strips cut in advance in the material of choice. Can be 11 1/2" long, use ribbon to complete the diameter around the child's head. Use markers and other things to decorate. Punch a hole at each end and pull a piece of leather, ribbon, string etc. to secure it. Leave ends long and let child add beads to the 2 ribbon pieces. Tie knots in ends so beads don't come off.

Fringed Hippie Vest:
MATERIALS- You will need a paper lawn bag for each child. Construction paper, glue sticks and other decorating materials and enough scissors for your group's size.
Prior to the party draw a line around the middle of each bag about the spot where your child's hips would be when holding the bag at his shoulder height. Hold the bag upside down, front of bag facing your tummy. Starting at the open end, cut straight up center of bag until you reach the bag's true bottom. Make a T-shape cutting along the bottom on both sides of the middle cut. Leave about 3 to 4 inches about where the shoulders will be. Measure your child from shoulder to the bottom of arm pit. Make a slit or cut a circle in the side of the bag. This is the main pattern for the vest and variations could be things like cutting a v-neck. Have some examples of 60's symbols available for the kids to get decorating ideas. have them color, cut and paste etc. Then have them cut from the open end of the bag to the line in the middle of the bag all the way around the bag. This becomes fringe. Have helpers do a few alterations if needed and then let the fun begin! This looks and sounds much more complicated then it is. Brown grocery bags can be used too.

Rose Colored Glasses:
Materials- a sheet of white poster board and some colored art cellophane, not Saran wrap but the kind you get at a craft store and several glue sticks. Prior to the party, make the frames for the glasses by tracing the bottom of a 15 ounce soup can. You will need 2 circles side by side with about one and a half inch space between them. Connect them by drawing the "bridge" of the glasses. Inside the circles, trace a circle the size of a 6 ounce tomato paste can. These are the lenses. On the top side of the glasses draw the bows straight out making the two lines about an inch thick and about 4 inches long. Curve the lines to make the ear pieces. You may want to measure the distance from your child's eye to ear to get a more accurate length. Cut out enough frames for the number of guests at the party plus a few more for mistakes. Leave them flat so the children can decorate the frames with markers, stick on jewel earrings, etc. Trace the 15 ounce can bottom onto a piece on scrap paper. cut a length of cellophane and fold it into a square that will fit the can bottom. Place the drawn circle on top of the cellophane square and cut the circle. This is a quick way to cut out the colored lenses. Remember, each child will need two and have extras available. Have the children decorate the front of the glasses, turn the frames over and use a glue stick to spread glue around the circles. Place a circle of cellophane on top of the glue and press to secure it in place. Bend the bows of glasses, place on face and enjoy the world through rose-colored glasses.

Have the kids bring a stuffed animal to the party and make outfits for them too!

Dress in their new dud's, put on some groovy music and dance. Get out the video camera and let them perform.

Tie die shirts

Play Twister

Pin the headband on the Hippie

Musical Symbols: Like musical chairs but make symbols on paper, lay them out around the house. Play 60's tunes and go.

Design a 60's bingo game: Use typical retro symbols- peace
sign, ying/yang, flower power, smiley face, glasses, VW logo, bell bottoms, vest, love beads, fingers peace sign, tie die shirt, Love, yellow submarine, Brady Bunch squares, head with head band, etc.

Spin art - your own tie dye designs.

Younger children can dip a folded paper towel in a muffin tin filled with different colored dies. Then open it up and let it dry.

I NEED HELP FINDING A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!?

George A

okay, so, heres the prob, my phone bill is 466$ cuz of texting( i dont have unlimited) and thats last months, this months might be about 150$ and i need help getting a job so i can pay this off, i am already selling everything i have on ebay, im selling all the books i ever baught, and im selling my xbox 360 elite, psp slim, a few games, and probly my electric guitar ( :'( )...... well i need a job, i dont think that will cover it, and i wanna buy unlimited texting for myself, im 13 years old, gonna be 14 on december 18th.....is there anyway i can get a job as a 13 year old, and, i live in Burbank CA....thats near LA

thank you for the help

Answer
Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

3. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

4. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

5. Visit your nearest beauty salon and ask to be trained as a shampoo person who is also willing to sweep up fallen hair on the ground and do set ups [arranging dye kits, curler holders, etc.] for a set hourly fee.

6. Become a sign flipper by contacting your nearest realtor. A flipper is someone who stands at a major intersection and flips a "For Lease/Rental" sign in order to attract visitors to an open house or to a particular real estate listing. The hourly pay is at least the minimum wage.

7. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

Camping party for birthday what should I bring?

.bambi.

I'm having a camping party for my birthday, it will be out in the middle of nowhere in the woods with about 40 people. What should I bring? So far I have food, tents, firewood, stuff like that, but what else? Also, there will be drinking what are some things we can do?
It's going to be awesome, so gimme your best ideas :)
Thanks!
Um...we're going for one night and we will be by a bunker with our cars. We won't be totally helpless. When I said out in the middle of nowhere I meant where no one will see/hear us, but thanks anyway...

Answer
well i see you listed some things i am about to list and it seems like you have a pretty good handle on things already but just in case here is what i recommend:

as an eagle scout i did a lot of camping in various types of weather here is what you need:

tent
backpack (you will be able to fit almost everything in one as opposed to suitcases; needs to be at least 4800 cubic inches)
a backpacking stove
eating utensils (such as metal pots and pans and cutlery this will make for easy cleanup)
as much food as necessary for the trip
clothing for the season
a Global Positioning System (get one in the range of about 300 to 400. they are good and some can float on water)
lots of water
a means of communication ( such as a cell phone)
a map and compass (if you re not careful the batteries in the gps will run out)
toiletries ( such as a toothbrush)
a shovel to dig your latrine
a flashlight
a watch
Extra Batteries
rain gear for everyone in your group
highly reflective blanket
fire starters
wood (if you're going to a campsite; If not you can just collect some in the woods)
matches or another way of starting a fire
let someone know where you re going and when you re expecting to be back so they know when to send for help if necessary
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST TAKE ANOTHER RESPONSIBLE ADULT. YOU MUST HAVE A BUDDY BECAUSE YOU NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU AND/OR YOUR INJURIES !!!! YOU'RE CHILDREN WILL NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO

As far as activities go try maybe something like horse shoes,, volleyball, or badminton. also ask a few people that are coming for some ideas.

After prom party ideas?

Amy.

Our junior prom is in 2 months. A friend and I want to plan an after party of maybe 15 to 20 friends. At first we thought camping, but we dont know a place that would
A. Allow that many teenagers and 1 adult
B. Allow all the noise
C. Have bonfire pits
D. In northern new jersey.

Help?
Oh are there any other ideas for an after junior prom party?
All of the friends houses are too small or just bad for a party.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer
A) I dont think they ask they age of everyone
B) get a couple sites and get they ones that are more secluded, like for tents only w/o water hookup or anything.
C) most campgrounds allow fires in pits
D) search online for campgrounds or go to a AAA office, they have great camping books for any location.

Have Fun!!

Answer
First of all, the fact that youre turning 15 means you should not be having a mardi gras themed party (no one should) its sinnister
however this is a rather adorable invite and it might give you some ideas
http://shindigzparty.wordpress.com/2007/07/24/start-the-mardi-gras-magic-with-personalized-invitations/

Wording birthday invitations?

Sara Marie

I am interested in having my 21st birthday at a water park on a saturday. But also I want to go to dinner that night also. How do I word the invitation so they know that they are going to have to pay for their entry to the water park and for their dinner?

Answer
This is not a birthday party invitation. Guests do not pay.

You may calla and say, 'Hey, let's go to the waterpark on .......; afterwards I wanted to invite you to my place for a birthday supper."

I must say that the logistics to this will be pretty rough. Unless you have a really wonderful family who has the time and ability to prepare a birthday supper for you and your friends (hint; this could be their birthday gift to you) you will need to rethink things. How about going to the water-park on another day? On your birthday you can prepare a nice supper or prepare for a party for your friends. Actually, I love to prepare a special birthday supper for my friends on my birthday. It's fun staying home and getting ready, looking forward to the evening and just being with your family and talking.

If you cannot afford to pay for everyone to attend both the waterpark and supper, then you are obligated to host a supper or party that you can afford.

Happy Birthday, and have fun!

Camping Bday Party Ideas?

Sarahh

go hiking in the woods then to the lake (there is a mini waterfall there too)
tye dye tshirts
cupcake stand thingy
water balloons
a fire w/ smores
i have this game set thing with like a net and everything
silly string
glow sticks
glow scavenger hunt
my friend is doing face painting

we are 13, do you have a website, games, ideas, or IPod apps (perferebly free)

Answer
Lol â Iâm impressed! Iâm trying to get 7 adults and 18 cub scouts organized for a camp out the same weekend and have half as much planned.

Be prepared for bad weather, jic. Other things that might be nice: soccer ball, first aid kit, extra bug spray mosquitoâs ruin more fun.

Youâve nailed the most fun things I like. Glow scavenger hunt sounds awesome. Other things Iâd think about, hide and seek, glow-tag, water-gun capture the flag and kickball if you have boys along, and board games and cards if there are shy/quiet kids. I usually try and set up something for every kind of person, some people like loud and busy, other people like quiet and contemplative.

I'm having a lumberjack theme camp-out and I have some ideas but I'm hoping that you guys could help.
So far...
we're sleeping in a tent
wearing flannel/plaid
making pancakes
having a firepit
what else do stereotypical lumberjacks do??
or any other fun ideas for the party!

You should get the lumberjack song from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"I'm a lumberjack, and Im okay...sleep all night, and I work all day."

Just an idea. Think the kids would love it. It's catchy.

GOOD LUCK!

Bowling Birthday Party for Child?

dolfingirl

I am throwing my 6 year old a bowling birthday party and I am looking for some sort of bowling theme paper to print my own invitations with. Does anyone have a clue as to where I may can find anything like this or have any suggestions on what I could do?

Answer
How about making your own invitations that double as a scorecard. Make colorful cutouts in the shape of bowling pins and give the cutouts out every time any child makes a strike. Let them trade in their "bowling pins" for (inexpensive) prizes at the end of each game. The dollar stores have such a variety of games that are good for six year olds.
Have a ball!

Birthday Party Ideas For A 4yo Girl?

Talkin' Ta

My daughter will be turning four very soon. Looking for party ideas and or places. We've done chuck e cheese and pump it up. Thanks.

MommyNMaryland

Answer
I'm very young myself and it depends on your daughter's personality. Here are some ideas

Sugarland: This can be held anywhere you want, even your home. Get pink goody bags for girls filled with big lollipops, candies and little colorful bracelets and etc. For boys you can do the same thnig except bright blue goody bags filled with everything mentioned above except the bracelet. For invitations pick a colorful color and write on it "This party is going to be SWEET!"

Princess theme: Have girls come in dresses and boys come in a suit or tux. (To make it look like a prince and princess) and make the place look like a ballroom. Have a big chair speaciality placed in the front of the dance floor for the princess (your daughter) and have a dance contest. Your daughter would be able to pick the winner. After all she is the princess.

Beach theme: Have guests dressed causually and once they arrive give them a coconut bra and a grass skirt to put on over their clothes. Have a little indoor pool, and have a tropical song playing. Do limbo contests, and etc.

Girls Night theme: Make your house look like a huge salon/ spa! (Girls party/sleepover) and each guest will be split in a group. Group 1 goes to the nail station where they'll recieve a manicure and pedicure. Group 2 will go to the spa resort the will recieve massages and facials. Group 3 will go to the hair dresser where they get to have their hair curled, straightened, braided or whatever they want done that you can do. And just switch off. Then when that's over take them out for ice-cream or something rent a movie and have them watch a movie and sleepover.

I need ideas for my 16th birthday party :)?

Daena Voge

Hey guys :) Ok here's the story, i turn 16 in August, i know what you're thinking: "Whoa, thinking a bit early arent you?" well, i'm the type of person that loves organising things in advance :) Anyway, i need something that my friends will think it's fun / awesome :) But i want to keep it affordable please :) i cant exactly hire a venue for my party because they're way too expensive, so i need ideas that are fun yet fit to my budget :) thank you! :) x

Answer
Create your own teen "nightclub" by transforming a basement, garage or backyard into a stylish dance club. If your budget allows, you can opt to rent out a local venue for the event, like a banquet hall or community center. Hire a DJ to get the guests moving, or recruit a family member to "guest DJ" with an MP3 player and some speakers. Create a swanky ambiance by draping some brightly colored fabric, like tulle or satin, against the walls. Add mood lighting by stringing Christmas lights above the dance floor, or using a black light to generate a glow-in-the-dark aesthetic (but be careful to avoid fire hazards). You could even rent a disco ball or make a sign that displays a name for the club, using your teen's name. Serve non-alcoholic "mocktails" or sparkling grape juice and platters of finger foods. For an added touch, create your own invitations in the form of "VIP passes." Your teen and his friends will have a blast dancing the night away.

A Night to Remember
For a more intimate and upscale birthday celebration, have your teen choose her closest friends--the number will depend on your budget. Treat them to a a night out on the town by renting a limo service to whisk the posse out to dinner at a local restaurant. To ensure that the venue can accommodate your group, make a reservation at least two weeks in advance. Encourage the guests to dress up for the occasion, and instruct the limo pick up each friend at his home or have everyone get spruced up at your house before departing for dinner. Have a sparkling cider or soda toast in the limousine using fancy glassware, and ask your limo company if they can provide decorations for the vehicle, like balloons or mood lighting. Then, let the kids spend a few hours relaxing and making memories over a savory cuisine. Finish with a birthday cake, either provided by the restaurant or dropped off by you ahead of time.

Sweet 16 Spa Sleepover
This party theme is most popular with girls. Since turning 16 marks a milestone between childhood and adulthood, throw a birthday bash that fuses a youthful slumber party with a grown-up twist--a spa theme. Send out invitations that instruct guests to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow, and designate the attire as "pajamas." Set up spa stations throughout your home. A "facial" station in the kitchen could contain supplies for homemade skin masks and scrubs. A "pedicure" station in the bathroom could be equipped with basins for soaking toes in warm, soapy water, an array of nail polishes and files, cotton balls and toe dividers. Surprise your birthday girl and her guests by setting up a special station with the help of a professional--hire a masseuse to give each girl a short massage, or a makeup artist to provide in-house "makeovers." After the primping is finished, throw in some traditional sleepover staples. Order a few pizzas, make some popcorn and rent a scary movie.
