I have tried evite.com its free and they have a lot of different designs for you to choose from all you need it there email address.

what job can I get at 15 in the Atlanta area?

jordie

Anyone know?

Answer
Here is a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

Good luck!

What about going to play laser tag? Or indoor go cart racing.

What are the songs being played this year in Hollister?

Ml

Because we have Hollister in London now, I go there quite allot and most of the time, the songs there are really good. Has anyone got any idea what any of them are?
So far I found one because I remembered some of the lyrics, but I can't remember the other ones.

Miles Thov

You know, over the years, I take my friendship with my best friend seriously.

Well, I consider him as a best friend, but I don't know what he thinks of me, all I know is he shared his secret with me more than with anyone else. And he knows that I don't like the crowd, I don't to be around with too many people. He have friends of his own, which I don't really like because the way that they behave toward me when he's around is completely different from whenever he's not around. I am considered to be a very smart student in class, it's just that I'm lazy, and he knows that, though he always remain on top of the class while I'm remain in middle but he's too knows that it wasn't because he was naturally smart but because he spend time in front of books 13hrs a day, even Sunday, that's why he for once never look down on me because he realize that I don't need to put as much as attention as he is, yet I could beat him easily. We became really good friends, it's all changed when he started to tutor Physic which is his favorite subject. Most of his friends attended there while I don't because I don't like them and knowing that I could get pass physic easily. And when his friends became really good, they treated me like a fool whenever he's not around, they never talked to me or answer to me whenever I asked, they only talk and play with me whenever he's around knowing that no matter what he'd chose to be on my side.

But after they became really good, they started to hang out more and more, eventually I felt that my best friend is now only hang with good grade student, he have party with them without telling me, he goes on vocation with letting me know. Even when he threw a going away party(he was going to study in Australia), I wasn't invited nor been told.

After learning all the things he did without letting me know, I felt disappointed. So I decided not to see him when he was leaving to Australia by email telling him "All of your best friends are there, you have enough supporter more than you'd ever wanted, I guess my absent wouldn't end the world for you, good luck and have a safe trip there, farewell my best friends" and he's reply "I understand"

But when he was coming here on his birthday which I don't know, I emailed him, thought that he was in Australia but he was here all the time, I didn't know and he even throw a birthday party without letting me know. But he came and visit me after his birthday and when I couldn't hold it in, I asked why he didn't let me know that he was throwing a party, he said "most of other friends there and I know you won't go" and I said "of course I wouldn't go and cause a disaster at your party but what harm comes from a little invitation from an old friend that been gone for almost a year and since you can handle me not going there, can't you handle me not going after being invited your party?" He said nothing, when he left to Australia, I didn't see him off again but I was angry.

Now he's back again celebrate new year with his other friends without me knowing. But he wanted to meet me, I think that since we no longer best friend and became two people who barely know each other. I told him that "Why bother? nothing's gonna change, you've changed and that's all it matter to me, I love you my friend but I really do hate what you became. I am too, going to live in Texas next year, we might not ever see each other again, let's just keep it that way"

Do you think I'm doing the right thing? do you have any idea what's going on with me?
Am I make too much big deal out of those things he did without me knowing?
please tell me what you thinks.

Thanks in advance...
I do take this friendship serious enough even to felt betrayed after learning the truth of what he's done. He's do try to hide it, it's just that he never knows that I keep track all of his information in order to see how he's been doing. I wouldn't know the truth until I became an alias and try to be friend with him in facebook which is off limit to outsider and those who not friends. He knows that I hate facebook and only play Hi5, that's why he doesn't have a Hi5 but choose to have face book instead, I was also the one who taught him too. He keeps track of study but I keep tracks of games and movie and internet all the time, that's why I was ranked as middle class in High School, I'm just doing the school work good enough to get by. And "You are my very best and dearest friend, I am so lucky to have met you, I am so grateful that we became best friends" it's what he keep written in any email or sms that he send me.

I once called and asked him if he want to go to supermarket to eat

I once called and asked him if he want to go to supermarket to eat
ice-cream, it's was a holiday and it's what we always do on holidays but he said he sick and want to sleep, so I went alone in the morning but I forgot DVDs that I bought at usual place, so I went and get it in the evening and when I walk down the stair I saw him and with his new friends, so I smiled and hurried home, I think it was when he got home, that's when he called and talked about a lot of things and I know that he just want to know if I'm angry, I maintain my emotion and said nothing. But in the morning when we go to school, he saw, he must realize that I was angry and disappointed, so he said he was sorry and I said "Sorry! You doesn't seem like one when I saw you yesterday" and he turned around and said "It's my life, I can do what I want". I was so angry at him, I even decided to change class room to be away from him, but we both were so close with the home room teacher and she's too knows that he and I are really get along. She must have told him when I decided to change r
room, we were in class A and I decided to go to Class J which is in a different building from him. He called and try to convince me to stay but I determine to change, I thought "if he is that kind of person, then I don't want association". That night my dad called me and talked to me about him, how's he tries to get me to stay in Class A. I was surprised, you know, we close but I move away from my family to go to Phnom Penh to study. He never knew my dad and we never talked about our family, and I never give my dad number to him but he managed to find it, it's must come from our home room teacher which she would have found it in my school application form. I'm surprised that he braved enough even to talk to my dad.

That's when I realized how sorry he was, he just don't know how to show it. I decided to give it a try and we became good again, even better than we were, he was always come to my house around holidays but he still hang with his new friends and I made it very clear that he
can do anything he wants but just don't lie to me and he's agree. Everything went good until he was about to leave to Australia, that's when I chose to be an alias to surprised him in his face book and found his journal of where he have gone with his new friends, and found the pictures of them partying for his going-away party. I decided not to see him off, figured it's not worth it. After he's there he email and checking every week but when he here, he threw a party without me again.

So, can i ask how's that my fault???

Answer
You considered him your best friend but maybe he didn't. Anyways, you guys have gotten less close , kind of your fault if you ask me. You did the right thing since you guys do not have strong bond of frienship anymore. But it is your fault, you guys drifted in the first place,i guess you did not take this relationship seriously enough.

What do you think of requesting guests pay admission in lieu of a birthday gift?

Inquisitiv

Our daughter's turning 4 and we love celebrations and good friends, but don't put a lot of value into material possessions and hope our kids grow to feel the same. We want to invite we know and love with kids under 5, and I was surprised how quickly a guest list of 50 kids came to be without thinking too hard... I'm sure there's more. The local gymnastics place is huge and a lot of fun and only costs $10 per child.

What is your opinion of us inviting people and somehow request that they don't bring gifts, but pay the cost of admission instead? How would we word that in an invitation? We'd like to serve cake but not have any party favors.

I don't want to be collecting money at the door. We're web business people, and have a personal website and can easily make a subpage for her birthday party where friends can both rsvp and pay $10/child at the same time.

How do you think this would all go? I know breaking social norms and expectations is often a etiquette risk, but we just want to celebrate our daughter's life in as fun a way as possible and not leave anyone out.
Please don't just tell me that it's rude and tell me why it's rude. I obviously don't get it. I'd be pretty happy to not have to worry about picking out a gift and wrapping it and pay admission instead, including paying online. I'd also be pretty happy to get an invitation that I wouldn't have gotten if it were a smaller party. We would expect that parents stick around for the hour and a half with their pretty young kids.

I understand that you think this is rude and I'm glad that you're saying it, because that's why I'm asking, but instead of telling me how it's normally done please tell me what I don't understand about it being wrong so I don't accidentally offend anyone.
I should also add that these are OUR friends with kids under 5. We like any excuse to see our friends. She doesn't really have her own group of friends other than our family and friends because she's not in school yet. The gymnastics place is so big parents and their kids can run around together, which is how it's done during the gym's open play session.

That wasn't my question anyway! I was asking how I can politely handle the $ part of it.

Answer
You should be paying the admission fee, if you want to have the party there.

Why is it wrong, for to to ask them to pay it? Because YOU are inviting them.

Not if they choose to say NO, i can not come. They offend you. Yet if they say yes, they are obligated to pay an admission cost.
Its hardly the way to treat your guest.

In actual fact, here in Australia i been to many of these childrens parties at childrens playgrounds. Even held some myself for our child. Everytime, theparent pays the admission fee for every single child attending.
The guests bring gifts.
That is usually the norm.
Choosing to go against the norm, is choosing to possibly offend. Now why would you want to put a "friend" in that situation.

Birthday Party Invite ~ Wording ~ No Present... Money Tree?

Merry

Invitation wording for my (almost) 8 year old.

Like many children his age he really doesn't need any more "stuff" LOL
... He loves sport (in particular Taekwondo) but as a single parent I am struggling to keep up with the $$$ aspect of this..

So what do you thinks of this invite wording ?? ....

"Please join us for a day of fun & games ~ No present please
If however you would like to give a token gift but you are stuck for ideas
a small contribution towards (son's name) Taekwondo would be appreciated"

Clearly when having a party it is about having fun with friends and NOT about the gifts... with this in mind PLEASE lighten up (I'm not looking for an lecture on etiquette) .... Constructive thoughts and ideas appreciated!

Answer
If the guests are relatives, I don't see a problem with telling your siblings/parents/in-laws that you would prefer help with paying for your child's extracurricular activites instead of them getting him another Ironman figure.

There is no way I would send invites like that to my child's classmates, though! If a parent calls and asks what they could buy for your child, it's ok to suggest money but requesting money with the invitation is a big no-no.

Suggestions for daughter's first birthday party?

firsttimem

We are on a tight budget this month, so I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas for making this a great birthday for my beautiful baby girl who deserves everything. I could use advice on gift ideas, decorations, as well as what kind of cake we should get her.

Answer
I know how you feel. We went crazy for our daughter's first and now we have scaled it down. Now I always try to think of ways to save money and still make it fun & unique:

Make your own cupcakes/cake.

Make your own invitations.

For your theme, you don't have to get everything with the character on it. For ex., my son just had a Mickey theme, and I found printables online (playhousedisney.com). Also, I bought a few character items, but bought different colored untensils, plates, etc. to coordinate (red, yellow, black & white for Mickey)

Have it at home or at a park. At home, plan some games for older kids and/or adults. At the park, there is a playground for kids, so that's free entertainment.

Orientaltrading.com has great deals on all party supplies & favors.

Check out ebay for great deals on favors, supplies, etc.

I try to make my own food for the party.

Enlist friends & family to help: my mom helps with food, my sister helps with entertaining (she's very artistic so one year she face-painted the kids)

If you want to splurge on one thing & make it really special, we had a caricature artist for her first & everybody loved it. We had Dan the Cartoon Man (search him on yahoo) and he was awesome!

For party favors, I try to find unique items b/c kids get too much candy and knick knack that they always throw out anyways. Hand puppets, books, personalized crazy straws (search online), etc.

Be creative & have fun!

How To Have A Fabulous Camping Themed Party?

camping birthday party

Brooklyn

I am having a camping themed birthday party late August. I have a few ideas such as:

~Swimming in the lake (a.k.a our pool)
~Making s'mores with our fire pit
~Watching a movie under the stars (we got a projector and a screen + will be watching from the tent)

I think a camping themed party is kind of out there and might be hard to pull off. Can you think of any ideas for the party (in general or specifics) or any suggestions other than the ones listed above?

P.S: I have NEVER been camping so I don't really have the experience like others, so is there anything that I am missing that makes camping truly spectacular? Thanks!

A few things to keep in mind:
~ I am a girl going into Middle School and so is everyone else I am inviting.
~ It will be a 'Slumber Party' also, so any ideas that we would do later in the party would be great!
~ Anything camp related will be appreciated, from food ideas to activities.
~ We won't actually be sleeping outside.

Answer
Cool, that's creative! I suggest that you make your own invites. It could be come to Camp ___ (your last name or first or whatever) and your address for some Creepy, Crawling, Camp Fun! You could have a scavenger hunt with teams and a point system. And tell scary stories under the stars. Also you could make these "BBQ" cupcakes. There's some on pinterest, it's basically icing and candy to look like a grill. And there's a similar cake design. You could have a bonfire and ask everyone to bring their latest school stuff and burn it. Y'all could all make t shirts with Camp whatever on it. It's easy, just get a pack of colored tees and iron on letters or fabric markers. When y'all are outside roasting marshmallows or whatever you could put on a campfire song (spongebob lol) or just the sound of nature. In goody bags you could give out fake bugs, lip gloss, etc...also a camp survival kit (band aids, water bottle, flashlight mini, compass, and trail mix.)
You could have games like 'fear factor' with obstacle courses or like apple bobbing except one of the apples has a fake bug in it to find or something? Prizes could be candy, magnetic fishing pole (dollar store) whatever. Also for food you can have dirt ice cream which is crushed Oreos, favorite ice cream and gummy worms. You can use lanterns for the scavenger hunt and hid glow in the dark bugs and stuff. Look for fireflys and such. Make it a fun one and good luck!

What are the BEST shoes for advanced beginner rock climbing?

the awesom

I have climbed in my past, like at summer camp and birthday parties, but this summer I really began climbing more. I go to a indoor climbing gym a couple times a week, and want to join a team, so I want to invest in a good pair of shoes and a harness.
I'm 15 and have fairly narrow feet, so what are some good brands? Are laced up better than velcro? What other gear should I consider buying? Any other tips would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!

Answer
The best shoes to get are shoes that fit your feet along with the type of climbing you plan on doing. Different brands and models will fit different people. La Sportiva are known to be more narrow while 5.10 are wider. Since you are still a "beginner" I would stear away from the overly agressive shoes with a down turned toe. You dont need them yet and they wont help you develop good climbing technique on less steep routes you will be climbing at your current skill level. I would suggest an entry level shoe. Make sure you try them on and get a feel for them. Also, make sure you have an experienced climber help you with your choice. They will be able to help you choose the size based on the construction of the shoe. Some shoes will stretch as much as a 1/2 size over a very short time, while others wont stretch much at all. So you will want to keep that in mind as you are trying them on. Laced shoes offer the ability to "customize" the fit but adjusting the laces at the toes, half way up, and at the top while slippers provide an easy on/off. Velcro is the best of both words. You cant get them on as quickly as slippers. And you cant customize the fit as well as laced. Keep this in mind while you are making your purchase.
Other gear:
To save yourself money over time, get yourself a harness (again, fit is everything so try them on and actually hang from a rope in them before deciding), chalk/chalkbag, and if your local gym charges you to rent belay devices, invest in an ATC & large locking carabiner. That is all you really need to get started climbing indoors.
In the end, proper fit is priority 1!
-Good luck

Answer
I planned a hollywood themed party for my younger sisters 14th birthday and came up with some cool ideas.

I would definitely do a red carpet leading to wherever you are holding the party (or red paper from one of those big roles if your on a tighter budget.) Send out elegant invites that look like ones to the oscars or some other major hollywood event and tell your guests to dress in their red carpet best.

Enlist the help of siblings or other family members with cameras and fake microphones to snap pictures and 'interview' them as they walk the red carpet to your party. Then you can buy the cheap 90 cent plastic picture frames and print out the pictures of them at their most glam moment and write out a thank you note on the back, and put it in the frame and voila-party favor & thank you in one!

For my sisters party we found some of the wall stick ups (some of them are under the name FatHeads) of marilyn monroe and paris hilton, etc. It turned out pretty well. To bring yourself into it a bit more at craft stores that sell scrapbook supplies they have these strips that look like film negatives (but bigger) that you can put pictures in. Take some fun shots of yourself to put in them, then hang them all over the walls.

We used red & black with some silver as a basic color scheme for the party and it did look very hollywood and glamourous.

We kept the tone a little more elegant for a while, having bartenders (me and friends...) serving 'martinis' (i saw a really cute idea on a show, they called them "sixteen-is" which i loved; come up with your own recepie for a cool looking virgin drink, maybe a shirley temple with a splash of pineapple & orange juice? ) with little finger foods set out on trays. then later we cranked up the music and turned on some cool disco balls and flashing color lights and whatnot to make it into an after-party club atmosphere.

everyone had a lot of fun and it turned out really well.
hopefully some of these ideas helped you out with your planning! good luck!!

Mom is turning 90! I would like to give the guests a questionnaire to fill out about mom?

robert

Any ideas of how I can make my mom's family party personalized, giving her all the attention?

Answer
You could ask some of her closest friends and relatives to write some very short speeches, and share them. You (and/or any siblings) ought to toast your mother as the birthday cake is brought out.

You can prepare a slide show, and show it to the entire group.

They have those cakes, now, that you can actually put a photograph on top of the icing.

But mainly. . . at your mother's age, I'd just be very careful about overwhelming her. Obviously, I don't know your mom, how functional - *there* - she is. Just something to bear in mind.

Perhaps on your invitations, you could say something like "In lieu of gifts, please take a few minutes and jot down one of your fondest memories of my mother." You could present these to her as well.

Hope the party goes well. 90 - wow. Mom's a tough old bird! :)

Got any ideas for a surprise birthday party?

birthday party invitations messages

birthday party invitations messages image

aishawarya

Hey!
I am planning to throw a surprise birthday party for my sister (who'll be turning 24) this weekend.
Need help on the theme of the party. (To spice up dinner out with friends and make it more exciting!) Any ideas for the invite message? Would love to hear any tossing of ideas!
Thanks!

Answer
So we canât all be party planners, or so you think ⦠but itâs much easier than you think! Mammie has put together a few successful surprise parties, and itâs super easy! Surprise parties are a great way to make your loved ones feel special. Surprise parties arenât always an expensive ordeal either⦠Hereâs your quick guide on âHOW TO THROW A SUCCESSFUL SURPRISE PARTYâ

1. Find yourself an accomplice. The middle person who is going to find out information, and help plan the event.

2. Plan a date- Make sure the special boy/ girl is available on the date. Easiest way to find out - ask your accomplice to see if the special person is free on a specific day⦠Have the accomplice make plans with the special person . For example: When Mammie threw her best friend a surprise birthday party, Mammie had Mammy (accomplice) make plans with her best friend on the day of the party. That way - best friend would never expect anything other than her âplansâ with Mammy (accomplice). You donât want to plan the event too far in advance because the special person may find it suspicious. Ideally try to plan it 2-3 weeks in advance.

3. Pick a venue- Once your accomplice has secured a date- figure out a venue. Easiest way is to have your accomplice plan something where he/she can either take the special person to. For example: Mammy made plans with best friend to hang out during the day and then head home to get ready for dinner. Surprise! happened when they came home. Another example: Have accomplice make dinner plans with special person- and have everyone at that location at least 45 min before. (Saying 45 min will translate to people getting there just on time)

4. Send out the invitations- Best way to send an invitation is via phone. Phone calls will not leak to the special person. However, sometimes we donât always have their phone numbers. If you donât have everyoneâs phone number- get their email. Best electronic way of sending out invitations are through evites. Go to www.evite.com and you can create your own evite. If you arenât close friends with special personâs friends- find a trust worthy person to be a middle person. For example: When Mammie threw a surprise party for her brother, she had his roommate forward all the evites. This way, you donât have to worry about forgetting someone. ***MAKE SURE YOU EMPHASIZE THE *SURPRISE* ASPECT***

5. Follow up- Follow up with the accomplice. Follow up with your guests. A week before your event- send out a follow up email. A few days before your event- get a final count. Make sure the plans are still in effect with accomplice and special person. Confirm reservations or accommodations for event night.

6. Day of event: Set everything up with extra time. When you are planning something like this - you want to make sure you give yourself an extra 45 min-1.5 hours- just in case. If you having the event at your residence, or at a residence, make sure you are completely ready before the guests arrive. If you are having the party at a restaurant - try to arrive early enough for decorations. Most restaurants will allow large parties to sit when 1/2 the party is present so make sure you get some people there on time.

7. Right before the accomplice and special person arrive: make sure everyone is in their place. Last thing you want is a straggler to be wandering, or making excessive noise that will ruin the surprise. Have the accomplice text, or call you right before they arrive. That way you can make sure you have people in place.

8. SURPRISE!!!!! Try to have someone there to capture the moment.

*Keep in mind* A surprise party is an event to remember. Make sure you have a camera to capture all the moments. Try to decorate the venue so that your special person will have no doubt in their mind that this was a planned event. Get a blank scrapbook, color pens, and have your guests write a little message while they wait for the big surprise.

The above 8 steps should be able to aid you in planning a surprise party. The key is to have enough time to plan, set up and execute your party. A surprise party is such a heart warming experience. Go the extra mile and get people together and share a special night with those you love. Good luck!

What should I do for my 16th birthday party?

Jvdgbv25

I'm a girl and want to have a good 16th birthday party. I've had good ones before, but I want this one to be really good. Do you have any ideas on what I could do?

I live in the Cincinnati region of Ohio.

Answer
You have many choices, google some ideas I have put two links in source area. One of the website offers video based invitations and cards to send out which is a totally new concept. What you can do is video record your invitation message and choose any invitation design you like from that website and you can add that personal message into any invitations or cards and send to all your friends. This can be really amazing and you will stand out because of this new idea and creativity. They also have RSVP features.

Now for birthday parties, there is another best website where people posts their birthday party ideas and when I say people posts that means hundreds of thousands of ideas :) so I am sure that you will get something from there to celebrate your sweet 16.

Parents: how much would you pay for a great party without lifting a finger....?

Anna S

I am looking at starting a side service (not quite a business at this point) where I throw parties for kids birthdays. I have a ton of experience with kids, and thought i could put some of that to use. From camp assistant director to after school program director, i have game ideas coming out my ears.

That being said, what I am trying to offer is Birthday Parties without the parents having to lift a finger. They call me and I throw the party where they want: their home, the park, a pool, etc. I take care of everything, from food to the cake, table clothes to game planning. It would all be age appropriate, and they could pick the theme (Girls Rock, Sports, Super Heros, etc). I was thinking of charging $300 plus more if they need to rent a space (like roller skating) for the whole package, keep in mind that covers all the food and decorations. It would be a 3-4 hour event, and I would handle all the little stuff, parents just have to show up.

Would parents pay that?
Thanks so far for you input, I should have mentioned that. I'm in the Sacramento area, so I find and hear a lot of parents are way too busy to plan this kind of stuff. For those who have the time, I would recommend bonding with your child. You're right, it's much for fun that way! What I see a lot of is kids just going over to someone's house for 3 hours of free play or a parent stressing on how they have to go buy everything, etc.

Great idea on the weekday rate too.. maybe Mon-Thursday having it at $200?

Answer
I think you would need to separate the themed party items from your fee as some things are cheaper than others.

You can buy wholesale if you get a simple vendors license and tax ID number. You can then charge the going rate (which is usually 100% of the cost you pay for the item) and make money on the party ideas as well as the gift bags. Then charge at least $75.00 per hour. You will be putting much more time into the planning of the party than the actual party so the fee is fair. Charge your fee (75per hour) PLUS the cost of any party supplies.

I think it is a great idea and I know MANY moms who would use your service. Good luck.

Where do i find really nice First Birthday Invitations?

tipsycherr

I need really amazing beautiful first birthday party invitations for my son. Can you recommend a really nice website?

Answer
You might consider creating real nice invitations is to go to CropMom.com at http://www.cropmom.com. Cropmom is a online digital scrapbooking, collage, card making site.

Upload your photos. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation. The site has templates and kits. In fact they have two kits dedicated to babies; one "All about baby" and "Visit from the Stork". And you can mix and match from any of the thousands of graphics available for use on the site.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the "share" link. It'll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen-quality invitation will be sent via email for free.

For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn't cost much for less than $2) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your invitation at home. Or -have it at Walgreens, Costco, Shutterfly, or Snapfish.

Answer
I am in a similar situation. I am hosting a princess and pirate party for my daughter's fifth birthday April 29th. I went to the Dollar Tree in New York state and found (cardboard) treasure chests and pink castles to put the kids party favor's in. I have already mailed out a tri-fold castle invitation and I used stampin' up princess and pirate stamp sets to decorate them. For the girls gifts I hit the dollar stores and wallmart for tiara's, disness princess logo stuff, a mirror, comb, brush set in a beautiful bag. I found clear glass slippers at walmart. For the guys I've got pirate pistals, gold coins, eye patches and hats. I have tons of games for the pirate and some for the princess but I have yet to find anything on line that encorporates the two. I have made up one game that would be along the lines of freeze tag or regular tag called rescue or capture the princess, but I am still working out the rules of the game so the girls don't get hurt. I threw a big Pirate Party for my son in October and typed up what I did for a friend. I'll paste that document here.
Party Games

Make a pirate flag- Youâll need black paper, scissors, glue, stickers, and copies of the Jolly Roger template. Have the kids make a pirate flag and put their name on it. I had the kids to this as they arrived as a little get to know you ice breaker. Play the soundtrack to pirates of the Caribbean or Peter Pan while they do it and while they eat.

Treasure hunt- Each clue leads to another clue leading up to a treasure chest of booty. We made up two teams and put a mom on each team to be a guide on the side. Each team got a map rolled in ribbon the color of their clues. I didnât want them to find each othersâ clues. The birthday boy is the captain and his guests are his crew. Make a map of the house that looks like a treasure map. We had eight clues for each team and handed them their first clue to get them started. You could use picture clues instead of written text.

Clue examples: âAs any pirate ought to know this where the tomatoes grow.â âYouâll find clue number four behind the door.â âdonât have to cross the moat, check Nateâs coat.â

X marks the hidden treasure- (Pin the tail on the donkey) draw a treasure map with a red X on it. Blind fold the kids and the pirate who gets the closest wins a prize. I put the guests names on the map such as Liamâs pass and Julianâs Lagoon and gave each kid a tiny paper treasure chest with their name on it.

Pirate wrap- create teams of injured pirates and doctors. The first team to completely wrap their patient in dollar store toilet paper from head to toe wins a prize. They have to start over if it rips.

Pirate shipt cannon toss- Get two appliance boxes and cut out the outline of a pirate ship and spray paint them to look piratey. We did it outside so we staked ours in the ground so that they stood up on their own. Divide the kids into two teams and give each team 10 rolled up black socks. Blow a whistle and give each team a minute to try and get as many âcannon ballsâ as they can behind the other teamâs ship. The team with the most cannons in it when the whistle blows sinks. We did the best two out of three and gave the winning team pirates gold (individually packaged peanut M & Mâs. (Iâll give you the socks)

Swab the deck- Youâll need two brooms and two golf balls. Take the kids outside and line them up into two teams and create a relay race for each team. The first team to have every pirate make it up and back and sit down wins. More booty for the winning team.

Marooned game- (tag) The birthday boy is the shark and the marooned pirates have to get from their island to the mainland without getting tagged. Who ever getâs caught becomes the shark. The last pirate left wins.

Games we didnât get to or didnât consider:
Tick tock find the croc- Hide a timer and have the kids find it before it goes off.
Sleeping pirate- the pirate sit in a circle and the sleeping pirate sits in the center with a set of keys. Someone takes his keys and he gets three guesses as to who has his keys. If he guesses correctly, the thief goes to sleep in the center.
Piñata- homemade in the shape of a cannon ball (around a balloon and painted black).
Peg Leg Race- tie partners together for a three legged race.
Walk the plank- paint a piece of wood and have the kids try to stay on it without falling off it.
Pirate tug of war- a rope with a rag in the middle.
Read a pirate story- if things get nuts read them a book.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decorations: Halloweenish (sculls, skeletons, nautical, parrots). I used a red and white theme with black table cloth with red 12x12 scrapping paper with pirate ships on it for the placemats and put each pirateâs name on it.
The dollar store in Vestal sells colored plates (cake and dinner) and napkins to match for 20 people. I got red. They had pirate cake napkins.
I had greg set up our train table with pirate playmobils on it.

Shopping list

Pirate tattoos (sold at AC MOORE near the coloring books) They also have cheap wooden boxes for $3.00 to use as treasure chests. If you have the time you might be able to make them from a shoe box.
Extra pirate hats and bandanas (you can buy bandanas for a buck at Michaels). Felt pirate hats were at the dollar store in union on Main street.
Wal-Mart sells colored bags made of a see-through material in their wedding isle for a buck or two for a dozen. I put blue and white crystal cut bead things (made to go inside of flower vases) from their floral department inside them and called them treasure.
I bought swards and pirate costume packages at the same dollar store. Wrapped them in red paper (from the dollar store too).

Menu
Hot dogs in a bun with a sail in it. Use wooden skewers and white card
stock to make sails.
Tropical fruit on a skewer- I used fresh pineapple, star fruit, grapes,
strawberries, kiwi.
I made dead manâs hand punch â freeze some juice in a plastic disposable glove and put in a punch bowl with some sprite and some Hawaiian punch.

Gold fish

Homemade French-fries/potato wedges.

Web sites that I checked also mentioned using chicken nuggets as (pieces of eight) or chicken legs without silverware.

Greg and I made a pirate ship cake. Iâll include a photo of ours and the directions.

Pirate phrases and lingo
Blow the man down
Batten down the hatches
Lower the sails
Scurvy dog
Down the hatch, me ladies
Pirate booty
Red sky in the morning, sailors warning. Red sky at night sailors delight
Swab the deck
Ahoy thar, matey
Gangway
Walk the plank
By hook or by crook
Aye aye captain
Crows nest
Shiver me timbers
Run the Jolly Roger up yonder pole

You can barrow the pirate with the glowing eyeballs, and the light up sculls that I bought after Halloween. You can also use the sign that I made for the door.

One web site talked about making name tags making their name piratey but I couldnât figure out how to transform the names.

I hope that this helps. Although I put a lot of time into planning the pirate party, it was definitely easier to find ideas on the web than the princess part of it. I would love to hear what you have come up with.

Q. My friend's daughter is turning 13 and she was wondering what would be some cool ideas for her party. Her daughter's birthday is october 27 and they don't want anything too expensive they have thought about six flags and then a sleepover or a plain sleepover or a early party like a pool party. please help! thanks!

Answer
Mall scavenger hunts are fun
you make two teams, each team has a camera and they have to run through the mall getting pictures of various things on the scavenger list or videos.
me and my friends do them a lot,

heres soome things to put on the list:
a video of you arm wrestling a buff guy\
some one get their hair done at a mall kisk
photos of:: tampax pearl, someone eating ice crea, a photo with a hot guy, a baby bib, colored skinny jeans, etc.

pool party sounds awesome, maybe at an indoor pool (soo much fun)
(idk if the outdoor pools open in october lol)

have a halloween bday party--
set up an scary obstacle course in the back yard--get parents or friends to help out by dressing up as jason myers, frankenstain, or just a shady character. cob webs, rope trips, and water balloons are also nice touches:) watch a scary movie

flash back b-day party (
my friend did this for her sweet 16. for a 13 year okld it doesnt have to be this elaborate..)
she hired a clown and got a moonbounce and inflatable water pool obstacle course thingy, and a slip and slide! we played with play dough, made cookies then ate them, water balloon fight,

GO CAMPING!!

a movie and one of the following:
play flashlight tag, man hunt, OR capture the flag --ask neighbors if they can use their yards, OR go to a park and play if theres not enough room.

lasertag- you can buyt laser tag sets at toy stores or

water gun fights-put something on everyones shirt, like a peice of paper,(just tape it on) and when its TTLY wet, the person is out. this is SO fun

What are some good places to have a 7-year old's birthday party?

babybunny3

My little brother is going to be 8 on feb. 20 and we are trying to find a place to have his party. he's planning on inviting 3-4 kids. I have researched coco's funhouse, chuck e cheeses, and the bowling alley. are there any other places?

Answer
What about ice skating? Outdoor rink would be best, but you can't do that if you live down south.
Chucke Cheeses and Bowling is classic birthday spots, so they are great ideas. What about a sleep over? 3-4 kids isn't going to be a handful.Have them camp out if the weather permits.

Depending on where you live, you can do something to take advantage of the weather. Unless of course it's raining! Look at your city's website and see if there are festivals going on. Or if there are family places you can go to. [for example pioneer village in toronto]

Just don't invite 15 kids (esp. boys) to your home. Did that for my brother's 9th birthday and I still have nightmares!

i'm having a masquerade ball for my 21st
and i'm unsure as to how to word the invitation. i thought i'd start with a quote about a masked ball and then go on to listing the date, time, venue, etc. i'd like it to sound formal, but not over the top.
and i'd like the guests to bring gifts for a charity organisation instead of for me... any suggestions on how to put this in writing without sounding too official?

Answer
Just list the masquerade ball as the theme for your party.
Any mention of gifts on any invitation is against proper etiquette. In fact it is downright rude and low class.
Happy Birthday and have fun!
