Q. Ya know, that type of thing. No boys, still in the stagte that there gross. Its a Question for my cousin. Just a birthday party, she wants one of them big ones, not a quiet sleepover type..... thanks, and no spam plz!

Answer
Make really cute invitations. Like not cards, but fliers. They are a little more original. Don't have a theme, cause themes are more babyish. Have music, food, games, and stuff like that. Its best if you don't have board games. Games like spin-the-bottle, truth-or-dare, and stuff like that are cool. Instead of constantly having everyone there socialize, sorta let everyone do there own thing. They don't always have to be all together playing games. Just chill out. You could even do prank phone calls.lol. Maybe pool tables, ping pong, air hockey, and stuff like that keep them occupied too. Take it from me, I'm 13 too, and I'm a party specialist.lol

A good Job For 14 year old?

lildub612

im 14 and im looking for a job. i live in garden city michigan. im looking for anything paying the $7.50- ?. the only bad thing is that, i play travel hockey and im usually on the ice about 3-4 times a week. and i have games on different days every week. any suggestions?

Answer
Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

3. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

4. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

5. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

I'm having a 50's party for my 30th birthday this year, but I want it to be authentic (nothing hockey). Where can I find great vintage replica invitations? I've done some searches but can't find anything that doesn't look cheesy.

Thank you!

Answer
Well they wouldn't be cheap, but you could go buy little vintage posters from a craft store and attach a piece of paper with the actually information on the back, kind of cute and vintage. They would probably be expensive unless you found them on the clearance rack (i've found some very cute ones in the clearance rack at Jo-Anne's Fabrics).. or you could print something of the computer or even try making your own! ((or try craker barrell)) always good stuff, vintagey, there! Hope that helps!

im turning 14 in december and i wanna have a party cause i havent have one since i was 9. so i decided to have a dance party. im inviting guys and girls. i have a air hockey table but i think people would get bored doing that all night and i was thinking about having DDR but that would get boring. there will be music there of course. but what else could there be? any ideas are welcomed.

Answer
Hey I'm Sandi, and I'm celebrating my 14th birthday tommorrow. I'm gonna have a dance themed party and its going to be really fun. I invited 60 of my favorite friends. The party's gonna be from 7:30-10:30. I made a party playlist on my iPod so that i can play nonstop music. I moved the couches in my basement so that there can be a little lounging area. I am also going to Party America to buy black plastic mats to lay down for the dance floor. Ahead of time, me and my friends are going to buy glow in the dark paint and dip our feet and hands in it and make hand prints and foot prints on the dance floor. It is all going to be under black lights, which i mentioned on the invitations. I am going to have a fog machine and a strobe light tomake cool effects. Also, about half way through the party I am going to give everybody about 2 feet of toilet paper. they are going to be asked to put in on there body in the most creative way. About 6 of the most creative ones will be nominated to be in the fashion show. they're going to walk down, and show how they did. Then the audience will vote by cheering on which one they liked best. The top 3 will win prizes like a free movie and such. Since my friends are a little crazy I'm only going to have candy and water, so that nobody makes a mess. If the party gets kind of dull for the poeple that dont wanna dance, I'm gonna bring out my game of twister which can be made really fun with vaseline on it. Wish me luck! I hope nothing goes wrong!
