I want to hold a csi theme party for my 25 yr old son's birthday. Does any one have any ideas to help me?

Katie

Answer
This party theme allows for multiple costume possibilities because not only does it cover crime scene investigators, but it also can include police officers, FBI agents, medical examiners, etc.

Invitation Ideas:
Cut out mini file folders from manila file folders. Write/type âCONFIDENTIAL: Case File # ______" on the front. Enter party information on the inside.

Costume Ideas:
- Police Officer
- Coroner
- Medical Examiner
- Crime Scene Investigator
- Lab Technician
- Criminal
- Victim

Prop Ideas:
- Caution Tape - Use inside in selected crime scene areas and the outside entrance to the party site.
- Chalk outline - Make several "victim" chalk outlines on the walkway and front porch/entrance of the party site. Use masking tape to create a âchalkâ outline of a person on your carpet.
- Ransom note - Cut out words and letters from magazines to create a fake ransom notes.
- Magnifying glass
- Make up fake Crime Scene Investigator badges for guests to wear.
- Test tubes and beakers - Test tubes can be used to hold shots (make sure you have a place for your guests to set down the test tubes after they take the shot).
- Serve your refreshments from heavy cookie sheets (lab trays) and pour drinks from white plastic lab solution bottles.
- Fake body parts
- Fake blood - Dye white corn syrup with red food coloring and just a touch of blue.
- âTrace Evidenceâ - Place pieces of thread/fibers, hair or bugs in small clear jars/containers/zipper bags.
- Fingerprints - We pressed our fingers on an ink pad and then pressed them on the sticky side of clear tape. We were able to then put the âfingerprintsâ wherever we wanted and it was easy to clean up as well.
- Handcuffs
- Microscope
- Fake mug shots
- Latex gloves
- Fake police reports
- Have CSI playing in the background on every DVD in the house throughout the party.

Hope these ideas help you! Go for it and have fun!!!

What do you do for a 13 yr old girls party?

Answer
My oldest just turn 13 so we've been planning a special birthday party to say cheers to the teen years. We've also enjoyed a year of celebrating with other 13 year old girl friends and these young ladies have really clued me in to what's hot and what's not when you're turning 13. Hannah Montana is so yesteryear and they are even over iCarly these days. It seems that by the time these young girls hit their teen years, their former teenage idols are already old news. I was actually heartened to see that their ideas were even a bit old fashioned and while all of these ladies had the option to do a boy and girl party, these young ladies all choose girls only. Here are the top 13 year-old birthday party venues for today's 13 year-old girls.

Take us to the movies.

"We finally really qualify for PG-13," one thirteen year old shared. A pizza and a movie date with girlfriends, with no little brothers please, is a crowd pleaser for these new teens. They wanted ice cream afterwards to talk about "Mirror, Mirror." If you're looking for a 13-year-old party venue that is not at your house, a girl's movie night is rated high with these teen princesses.

A luau is still high on the list.

Yes, thirteen year olds are still willing to limbo and see just how low they can go. Half some fresh pineapples and fill them fruit skewered on toothpicks for the luau look. Serve drinks in colorful stemmed cups from the party store adorned with an exotic flower and a cute tag with their name and they've got a take home party favor too.

Polish off a party with mani-pedis.

These ladies love mani-pedi parties. Here's where you have to call in the cool aunts and college age baby sitters to be the painters with the mostess. Moms, you're just the buyers and suppliers at this party. These teens want the cool people to paint their fingernails and toenails and do fun designs. Invest in a caddy of colors, lotions and potions and have some flip-flops on hand as the take home party favor and you're party is set.

Rock-n-Roll is here to stay.

My daughter actually chose to have a Rock-n-Roll themed pool party. What does she really know about good ole rock-n-roll? Doesn't matter. She can pick the play list. Shutterfly.com has a fun photo invitation under "teen party invitations" that looks like an admission ticket to a concert with a purple, silver and black color scheme. I picked up 6 vinyl records at Goodwill for $ 3.00 and covered the inner label circles with photos of her from birth 'til now to hang as decorations. I covered a long cardboard with aluminum foil and we outlined a bad guitar in purple marker. Did you know you can now get silver and black sprinkles for cupcakes at the grocery store? We filled in the guitar outline with silver cupcakes with one black in the center for the hole in the guitar and did mini-cupcakes in black also for the neck. It was bad to the bone. The party favors? A basket of Cracker Jacks fit the bill. They are timeless as a fun snack to take home with a silly prize inside. Even the eye-rolling 13 year-old approved.

What thirteen year olds want most for their birthday is a say in, well everything, from the invitations to the take home goodie. Have fun creating invitations on line, choosing a cake or cup cake theme and take home birthday party goodies. It's a new season for your teen and you as parents too, so enjoy it together whether you're hitting the movies, the limbo, the salon or the juke box.

Teen Beach/Luau Party Ideas?

summerlova

I want my birthday to be the best party of the year so i need some awesome ideas for anything decoration, music, food, invitations, games, gift bags, etc. I want everything to be perfect, awesome, fun, and supper supper mmemorable(a party that no one will forget easily lol) so please help links appreciated 10pts best answer thanks !!!
I'm 12 and this is my party for my 13th birthday
there will be like 20-30
12-13 yr old boys and girls ( fyi i'm a girl)
my party's going to be at the closest beach from my house which is like 20-30 min away I'm not really sure maybe more maybe less
mine or my parents budget actually is between 100-and 200 dollars

Answer
Where are you having your party and what's your budget? Depending on this I can help you out a little more. I'm in school to become an event planner so I love doing this stuff. I'll give you a general outline on suggestions for what you can do and we can take it from there :)

Decorations: Have the surroundings incorporate very 'vacation' and 'beach' feeling things. You can make or buy a banner that says 'Aloha' and have have fire torches lining up the border of your party. Have bright flowers on tables or even spread evenly on the ground (you can find fairly cheap fake flowers at a store like Micahels). Set up little sand bottles at every placemat where people are sitting for a meal. At the end of the party you can have your guests take them home as favors. Use al ot of greens, yellows, reds, purples, etc. All the guess tables can have a green table cloth with a "grass skirt" bordering it (you can get this at any basic party store) Again, depending on where you want it this could change up a little bit.

Music: You can have a combination of any new, upbeat music and maybe incorporate some Beach Boys and mellow bands like that.

Food: Since it's a luau, that's exactly what you should do :)
Have a main buffet table and use tropical foods. Use bright colored dishes to serve your food in. Slice up pieces of pineapple and strawberries and mix them together. Another good appetizer would be chips and salsa (you can even use mango or pineapple salsa if you want). For a main meal you can have teriyaki kabobs and sweet and sour chicken with tropical rice.

Drinks: Have a seperate drinks table from the buffet. Make it kind of like a bar setting and put colorful lights up around it. You can have long, clear glasses with cubes of jello in the glasses. Just make the jello before your party and dice it up. If you can have a parent or someone serve the drinks, this will help out. Have a giant bowl with the jello cubes and have the 'bartender' use an ice scoop (a wide, narrow spoon) to put the jello in the glasses and pour the punch over it. You can find a lot of punch recipes online, or you can buy ready-made hawaiian punch. (Just make sure it's a bright color!) Top it off with an umbrella and colorful straw.

Initiations: You can get cute store bought invitations in the shape of a pineapple, palm tree, etc. If you want something different you can find little plastic pineapple containers at a party store then print out your invitations and place it in the container. Right your guest's name on the container.

Games:
-Limbo
-Hula Hoop Competition
-Hawaiian style 'dance off'
-Coconut bowling
-Pin the coconut on the palm tree
-Shell scavenger hunt

Gift bags: Like I mentioned in the beginning have little bottles of colorful sand for your guests to take home. Other than that you can have little hula dancers, swedish fish, and umbrellas for them to take home.

I know this is really long, but I hope it gave you a lot of ideas!

What kind of Jobs can I get at 13 with Job Permit?

I live in central cali if that helps and I'll be turning 14 in a few months. Plus only a year of jr. high left. I'm hoping to get a job maybe as a bagger at a grocery store, or work at a place like subway/burger king? All i really want is to not be as dependant on my parents for movie money, friend birthday money, ect. that i will have to pay back with loads of chores later on. Thanks for any help.

Answer
Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

How can you make money as a teenager?

Chrissy

I'd like to make a lot of money. Haha, wouldn't everybody? I'm serious though. I'm fourteen, can play the flute rather well, I'm good at drawing, I'm good at babysitting, also good at taekwondo, good with animals, and really good at writing. But with all these skills, what jobs can I do? If you find any adds on the internet within the PA region that needs anyone with my skills, that would be nice. Oh yes, and don't tell me I can babysit for money, I already know that, and don't say "lemonade stand". So yes, if you find anything, please send a link back here.

Thank you!
Also, please don't tell me about how you can make all this money on the internet. It would be nice if you could, but there are too many scams out there nowadays and I don't want to be suckered into them. So please, only stuff I may do in real life.

Although thank you for trying to those who told me about a survey site, it's the thought that counts. :-)

Can you decorate plates and napkins for a birthday party?

JenE

I'm planning my daughter's 6th birthday, and she has decided she wants to go jungle animals. We are making the invitations and the banners, we have clip art that we are using and I would like to make the napkins and stuff the same way. I'm not a crafty person, so I have no idea. Help please on how I can bring these things into the theme I'm using. Thanks

Answer
Yes,For the PLATE,these can be washed off in soap and water after the party or given to each child to take home.
Use any acrylic paint, like paint by # paints or acrylic tole paint you can find both now in any of the $ stores. They also carry stentsils for kids. paint them in with a stencil brush, or trace the stencil out and paint with brush or Qtip , It can be what the kids do themselves at the party, but do it first, give it time to dry, if you want it to be a keepsake for each guest YOU spray or varnish with acrylic finish. It all dries quite quick. Now for the NAPKIN, you better do this alone. Just trace out the same stencils lightly with a pencil, use markers to paint in, they may seep, so you might want to slide paper inbetween layers. They would be lovely if you could paint your outline with a painters liner brush.Just have fun, it could be a girlfriend night, call someone to share the fun!U need to load the brush with paint, don't go any higher than 3/4" up on the bristles, use cold water and paper towel or a rag as you work, load the brush , then roll the brush on wax paper, or a stryoform meat tray. Hold the brush straight up and start the outline, handle the brush like you would write, you'll be amazed at how well you do.

What is the rate of RSVPing for parties you have sent asking for RSVP's with the invitation?

Heather

I have a kindergartener and we have an awsome party planned, it was outlined in the invitation (just where it is which is awsome). I have only had 2 responses since they received the invite 5 days ago with 4 days left to respond and 7 invitees left to respond (their mom's). I dont know if I should feel that the kids are coming or not if they dont respond. What are you experiences with RSVP ?

Answer
If you didn't put a deadline to RSVP, they could wait until the last minute. Give the moms a call ... it's only 7 and that won't take too much time.

Hope your little one has the best birthday ever!
