Birthday Party Help?

fwog_fwog

Okay, I am trying to create my daughter's invitations. She is turning 2. Last year, we had her party at Chili's. About 20 people came. I didn't pay for everyones dinner, just my household. Everyone paid for their own. Well, I pretty much invited only family so, it was kinda expected.

This year, the party will be at Golden Corral. This year I am inviting about 20 more people than I did last year.

How do I word the invitations that I am not paying for everyones dinners? The adult prices are 9.19 (buffet) and 1.59 (drinks). Should I include the price?

How do I do this?
I guess I should include that this is not uncommon and I have no where else to have the party other than a resturant. My house is not suitable for a party not to mention, I am close to all that are invited. So, you can leave out how tacky this is and answer the question simply!! Thank you.

Answer
This sounds like fun! Look at the below example and maybe you can develop this to fit the particulars of the situation.

Birthday Party for (Name of your Child)
Where: Golden Coral Restaurant at 123 Main Street, Anywhere USA
Prices: Adults: Lunch $9.19, drinks $1.59 (free refills?); you might want to consider gratuity language such as (prices do not include tips). Or if some members of the party are "sensitive" to this - then leave it out all together; most people are pretty intelligent about these things.
Date: Sunday 1 April 2007
Time: 2:00 to 4:00 PM
Dress: Casual (or even leave this out if you think it may bother anyone).

Basically, people should not be offended by this and I hope your childs birthday turns out to be fun for you, baby, and anyone else that attends. Best of luck and I hope this helps.

14 year old birthday party ideas?

Starrrrrrr

so my daughter is turning 14 in june but we are starting to plan now. ok so i need all ideas that you have for me she wants it to be at a roller rink /dancing.i told her that she could invite around 60 people to her party...including adults friends fam. etc. so please help me thanks ! btw her favorite colors are purple pink yellow and white. also she LOVES mindless behavior and the wonder broz. is there any way i could get them to come? thank you for your help and have a wonderful day !

Answer
The roller rink sounds good for the party.

You can use a word on play for the invitation...something like to Sk8 or not to 'sk8!

The most you would have to decorate are the tables where the birthday girl would be having cake and perhaps food and drinks. Very nice table clothes in her favorite colors layers (ex table one has a purple table cloth on the bottom in a diamond shape and a pink table cloth in a square shape on top), a few balloons and a birthday banner.

Or you can surprise her and have the skating at the rink and them move the "after party" to your home and have cake and set a time for her and her friends to kick back and have a good time. Perhaps a sleep over spa night can happy after the skating party with just a few of her closest friends. Tell the girls to bring slippers and robes. You can find a bunch of spa recipes online.

You can also get one of her fav pics of her. Blow it up and put that on the table and perhaps a guest post board for all of the guests to sign while @ the party.

As far as getting mindless behavior to come to the party... you should give it a shot. They are on Streamline Records. You can give the record company a call and I am sure they direct you to the booking manager.

How do I tell them to take their aggressive dog the heck out of my backyard?

Josie

I'm having a birthday party for my puppy. I'm inviting some friends and their dogs. On the invitation, how would I politely word something like, "If your dog starts to bark and be a jerk to every other dog, please get the heck out of my backyard."?

Answer
Presumably you KNOW your friends and their dogs. So don't invite anyone (person or dog) who you KNOW will be aggressive.

Keep in mind even children are aggressive sometimes. It is up to the responsible adults to manage their behavior.

In the invitation I might say something like, "A lot of dogs is a lot of fun but sometimes a cooling off period is necessary. Please bring a leash for your dog."

You might want to have a couple of extra leashes handy or even a crate or two or a penned off area where Wilbur can take a time out.

If at the party one of your human guests seems oblivious to the fact that their dog is obnoxious, simply leash the dog, deliver him to his owner and say, "Wow, he's a great dog full of energy but I think he might need a bit of one-on-one time with mom" or something like that.

I am hosting a surprise party for my husband, and I would really like it to be adults only, the problem is we have a family FULL of children. How do I politely word this on the invite? I don't want to put "adults only" Any other ideas???

Answer
Can the people you're inviting easily attend without their children? If so, I see no problem with putting straight-forwardly on the invites that it's grown-ups only.

If the people (or some of the people) you're inviting cannot easily attend without their children, then maybe a friend or relative would host a kids' party at the same time. You could coordinate the invites so that people realize that their needs are being taken into consideration as well.

What are good ideas for my party?

AlexisS

My 16th birthday is coming up so I wanted to have a really different theme for a party. I didn't want anything fancy or classy like most girls do at my age, so I settled on a Superhero Sweet Sixteen party. I thought it would be different and fun to dress up with my family and friends. Do you have any ideas for decorations, invitations, lights etc..? I'm having it at a club, if that helps. :) Thank You!

Answer
Hi

I'm a professional party planner. I have a page of Superhero party ideas on my site at:

http://www.party-ideas-by-a-pro.com

Go to Party Themes A-Z then select Superhero.

A lot of the ideas are aimed at kid's but there are some for adults too, and I'm sure you could adapt some of the ideas to suit your age group. Ideas include:

Invitations made out of Superhero eye masks

Invitation wording

Superhero themed drinks recipes:
Red, White & Blue Captain America drinks
Green Hulk Juice
Black 'Dark Knight' punch
Purple Joker Juice

Superhero themed food:

Batman logo shaped black bread sandwiches
Superman logo toasted sandwiches
Green Jell-O Kryptonite
Hulk Gamma Ray Pea Soup Shots
Captain America Red, White, and Blue Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Captain America Red, White, and Blue Ice Pops

Decoration and Styling Tips inc:

Line trays with comic book covers
Make food cones out of comic book covers
Make a home-made Bat-signal

There are also ideas for Superhero party games but most of these are aimed at kids, although you might be able to adapt the Superhero training obstacle course and substitute with more age-appropriate challenges / dares / forfeits etc.

Hope that helps

Matt

How do you word an invitation for a joint 30th birthday for me and my sister in law?

I would like any help or suggestions as to how to word this. We will have joint family coming obviously, and have some joint friends, but the catch is that we also are inviting some of our own outside friends who won't know the other party girl. We are a little concerned that the guests will think that they will have to buy presents for both people, even though they may not know the other one... Help, what do you think???

Answer
Make up some separate invitations for people that don't know the other b-day girl. Mentioning both b-day girls on the invite may make some people feel obligated to buy a gift for someone they don't know. The mutual invitees would then receive the invitation for both of you. Many people don't buy gifts for adult birthday parties anyway.
