I live by myself. I have a really annoying neighbor. The boy lives with his mom, I've never asked his mom where his dad is.

He's so persistent, that I have agreed to play with him from time to time.

I got an invitation from his mom to go to his birthday party, apparently he insisted a lot that I go the party.

I'm a 29 year old man, what am I going to do at a boy's birthday party?

Go, if you want. Take a card with a small gift card(15 bucks) for target or walmart for the kid. You aren't close to him so you aren't obligated to take anything big or expensive. You'll probably spend most of the time talking to the other parents. You can play with kids there for a little bit, help them with a craft or play tag. When you go to leave thank the mother for inviting you and tell her the party is lovely. If you chose to go, you don't have to stay the whole time.

If you don't want to go send a birthday card to the boy with your apologies that you can't make it via snail mail.

Ideas for invites to birthday party at the local food pantry / bank?

Hello. We live in Kansas City and are having our 8 year old daughter's birthday party at a local food bank called Harvester's. I am at lost though and searching for ideas on 1) a creative invitation to highlight the power of giving or the food and 2) how to ask that instead of presents we want people to bring food and 3) let people know that this is a different party where they will get to help sort, etc.... Also ideas for thank you notes, favors, etc.... Thank you!!!

Maybe you can design a card to look like a grocery bag filled with food and have a big bow tied around the middle of the bag....and a pic of your daughter carrying the bag or pushing it in a cart?

Birthday favors: Anything you want, really as this is for the guests so something you can afford that's special for them...include some candy treats in with it.
