Ideas for Carnival Birthday Party ? Read Details Please.?

Anabel

Well Im throwing a Carnival Birthday Party for an 11 year old.She is turning 12. I know you probably think she's a little too old for a carnival B-Day but she has never had any big birthday party. And ever since she saw an Episode of Kate Plus Eight where Kate did a carnival for the younger kids 5th birthday or something she has always wanted the same thing. The thing is im on a $50 budget. So what ever i can make home-made would be great. Some things I already know how to make home-made are : Can/Bottle Towers (where you get a ball and knock down cans/ glass bottles), Balloon darts (I don't know what its called but my mom and I came up with a great idea for that), Ring Toss (I might just buy that but im buying everything else that i cant make home-made first), and Im doing a scavenger hunt. When were done with the end who ever won the most mini-games gets a prize. By the way Im buying everything at Party City (partycity.com) and if I have any money left I'm going to buy at OrientalTrading.com but im trying to get everything at party city because i live near one. I can also buy at : Walmart, Walgreen's Target and a couple other stores. By the way if i go a little over budget than thats ok but im going to try not to.Thanks so much if you have any advice or help ! :)(:

Hi

I'm just in the middle of building a web site on 'Party themes' and one of the sections is Circus Theme Party, games decorrations etc...

Here's an extract form the site, some circus/ carnical games. There's more ideas for decorations and themed invitations...

⢠Fish for a duck â a favourite circus party theme game, get a number of small yellow plastic ducks and screw in small metal hooks into the top of the head. Fill a small paddling pool or a large basin of water and float the ducks. A simple pole with a length of sting with another hook on the end.

⢠The aim of the game is to hook the duck out of the pool. Winners may be rewarded with a sweet.
⢠Ping pong ball in the jar â collect glass jars and group together, players have to try and land a ping pong ball in a jar. Harder than it looks!

⢠Dunk the clown â This is a great traditional circus party theme game. For this one we need a willing adult or older sibling who is willing to get very wet. A large piece of card board is required, I find you can get some really great pieces form supermarkets they are always pleased to get rid of unwanted packaging. Paint the body of a clown and make the hair big, cut out the face so that the willing participant can fit their face through. Use acrylic paint as it will be water proof. All you need now is a bucket of warm water and some large sponges.

⢠The aim of the game of course is to throw the sponges at the clown. A chance for the children to get their own back. Always a fun and very popular game.

⢠Tin Pan Alley â Another circus theme party game that requires a little re-cycling! Save up all your empty tins, wash and remove the tops and then these can be wrapped in coloured paper or painted. Stack these on a table in a pyramid shape. You can make simple bean bags using coloured scrap material or even old socks, fill them with rice. The aim of this game of course is to knock all the tins down using 3 to 4 bean bags.

There are so many circus themes party games, once you start thinking about it. The beauty is that the kids can keep playing and playing, since they not parting with money. Some of the prizes maybe sweets, some maybe tokens, which will allow them to keep on playing. You will need a little help from others to man the stalls and if they can dress in fancy dress well âWhat a party that would beâ.......

If you fancy visiting the site the address is www.creative-kids-partys.com itâs a nonprofit site and still under construction on some pages but I hope it helps if you take a look.

Hope the party goes well.

Where can I find birthday party invitations for The Very Hungry Caterpillar?

ivansmami_

The book is by Eric Carle. I would like this theme for my son's 1st birthday and I last seen these invitations and party supplies at Target several months ago and now Tagrte doesnt' carry any party supplies for this theme anymore! I'm kicking myself in the butt now that I didn't buy them. :( I've tried some of the party store websites (50/50, Card Factory Outlet) and also Target.com, Overstock.com and even E-bay (I might settle for E-bay-they have printables on there that can be ordered individually...but I wanted to see if I could get a better deal by finding the ones you fill out yourself).

Anyone have a minute to do a search? :) Help out a mama!! :) Thanks!
