We are throwing a 40th birthday party and I would like a clever or funny way to say no kids.
Thanks!

Answer
I wouldn't go for clever or funny - your guests may think you're kidding and bring the kids anyway. Tell them adults only and call it a day.

How should I lie to my mom about her surprise party?

I am throwing my mom a surprise party. I was born on her 40th birthday, so for almost 24 years, she has never had a birthday. Out birthday is January 15th. I am planning on taking her to our favorite restaurant. I have also let her know that I am planning on getting her an outfit as well as a nice purse (She usually only spends $10 on a purse, so I will take her to Kohl's and get her a $50 one).

I am planning on throwing her a party in February. That way it gives people a big enough notice as well as not giving her any hints. The party is going to be in a center that we always booked for my parties. I will tell her that a friend of mine is having a birthday party or anniversary party. My friend's anniversary is January 1st, so I could always say she is having a belated party. Or I could say its her granddaughters birthday, which is the first week of February.

I was trying to decide if I should lie and say they texted me about the party or if I should go to my friends house and have her make a fake invitation for my mom, then mail it.

Which do you think I should do?

Answer
Tell her you're getting carry-out from the restaurant for her birthday and that you want her to ride along..
