My son is having his 5th birthday party as a dinosaur party. We have several things planned such as a "dino dig" (dig in sand for toy dino), making our own volcano erupt and creating a cool dino fact book. I have all this planned but cant think of a creative way to word his invitations. He is inviting his whole Kindergarten class (some of which do not have the money to bring a gift) so i also wanted to include that gifts are not expected on the invites. Any ideas?

Answer
Roar, take a dive, ______ is turning five!
"address, time, date"
Gifts optional.
Or, "a roaring good time."

Happy birth day to him.
:)

What does "a basket by the door" signify on a party invitation?

I've received an invitation to a birthday party of a relative. The invitation indicated that there would be a "basket by the door." What is that?

Answer
They are asking you to bring money as a gift and drop it in the basket. It's like a wishing well wedding, except even worse. In other words, your very tacky relative is charging admission for the party. Rude, rude, tacky, tacky.
