Party Help, Please!?

Dancer

I need help with a few things for my party. Here is the info on the party. It will begin in the late afternoon/early evening and continue into the night. There will be about 30 people at the party--it's a co-ed 13th birthday party. There will be mostly girls, though. The theme is a color theme, which is lime, magenta, and orange. There will be music/dancing as well as a pool and jacuzzi. These are the things I need help with :

--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number?
--what time should the party start and end?
--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort. Still looking for ideas
--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs?

Please answer as many of these as you can!
Thanks, please email me more ideas if you can!
My email is purplebeachchik@yahoo.com

I'm thinking about handing out glow sticks.

Also, what are some door prize ideas?

Answer
--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number? AT LEAST 1 MONTH BEFORE AND DO AN RSVP NUMBER.

--what time should the party start and end? PARTY SHOULD START AT 4 AND END AT 11

--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort. Still looking for ideas MAKE A SPECIAL CD MIX OF SONGS FOR THE PARTY AND MAKE A COPY OF THE CD FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS THEN YOU COULD PUT A REALLY GREAT PERSONAL LABEL ON IT FROM YOU TO THEM...

--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs? MUSIC MIX. IT GETS TOO CONFUSING TO HAVE EVERYONE BRINGING THEIR OWN CD'S AND YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR KEEPING TRACK OF THEM.

Good Luck and have fun!!

I need teen birthday party help!! Please answer this question!?

Hi,
I'm an event planner -- I've been planning events for over 15 years. So in answer to your questions:

--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number? You should send invites one month prior to the event date. It's good practice to have include an RSVP number. Consider using evite rather than sending out invites -- cheaper and much easier.

--what time should the party start and end? start 6pm (people will come fashionably late around 7pm. End 10/11pm. For 13 y/o there could be curfews...

--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort.
Yes, always have party favors. It makes the party!
I like your CD idea. Chocolate kisses wrapped in a little bag is always cute with a little note like hugs and kisses from the birthday girl.

Still looking for ideas
--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs? NO make your music mix. It's easier to have music rather than folks playing around on your stereo. Or, you can have a few friends help you make the party mix prior to the party.

Hope this helps!
