Forever Br

I am planning her party, she is turning 12 but fairly mature for her age. She can only spend about 100 doors total because she has to pay for it on her own, she is really exited because she has never had a birthday party before. She lives in a trailor so not a ton of people if the party is at her house. It is about a month and I just need a theme and stuff to do. Oh and as a aide note she tjought a campout party would be kinda fun. Thanks in advance and take care ;)

Themed Slumber Party
Have a themed slumber party geared towards the child's and his friends' interests. For example, have a makeover party for girls where they all dress in their favorite clothes and bring fun nail polishes and hair products. Take a group of boys to a scary movie and then let them camp out in the backyard and tell ghost stories. For a mixed gender party, choose a theme based on a color that the guests must wear and then serve food and provide decorations in that color.

Movie Party
Some towns have local movie theater that allow guests to rent out a small theater for private parties and show a movie of their choice. Rent a theater and show the favorite movie of the birthday person. Twelve-year-olds love watching movies in a theater where they can talk as loudly as they want. This option can be somewhat pricey, depending on the theater--taking the kids to a normal movie or watching movies at home are great lower-cost alternatives.

Rent a Space
Rent a local swimming pool, bowling alley or ice skating or roller skating rink for a few hours for large parties. The kids will love having a space just to themselves and family members. Many of these entertainment spots have private party rooms to eat birthday cake and open presents, which are available at a lower price. Parents of the birthday child don't have to worry about cleaning up too much, and while the kids play, the adults have time to chat with each other.

Hotel Party
Take the birthday kid and two or three closest friends to a hotel for the night. It does not have to be the most expensive hotel in town--the kids will still enjoy swimming in the hotel pool, staying up late, renting movies and ordering a room service dessert.

I am looking for unique first birthday ideas. My son is turning one in September, and since it will be mostly?

I am looking for unique first birthday ideas. My son is turning one in September, and since it will be mostly adult friends at the party, i am looking for something that is not cutesy and cheesy! Any ideas or ideas of places to look for crafty ideas? thanks.

What about a camp theme? It isn't too cutesy, and there are lots of fun ways to make it perfect for adults.

The color scheme is easy - green and brown for the woods. There are some new camping theme paper goods available as well - http://www.birthdayexpress.com/browse/_/N-i/Ntt-camp/results1.aspx?AID=10645522&PID=1151654

Serve "camp food", hot dogs, kool aid, granola/trail mix, smores (yum!) and popcorn.

Lanterns and small branches from trees in vases are fun decorations. Wildflowers are great too. Set out any forest themed stuffed animal you have...bears, owls, foxes. Throw a few pinecones around for good measure. Set up one of those fake flame torches (sold usually for Halloween) on the buffet and surround it with wood for a fake fire!

Have a fire if you can (September should be perfect weather for it).

Play good camp music. Almost anything by Bob Denver is great. Or get an audio recording of ghost stories!

Have a camping theme movie playing on the tv - Ernest Goes to Camp, Daddy Day Camp, The Great Outdoors, Meatballs are a few to choose from

Have everyone leave messages for your son to read when he is older by signing something with a camp theme... a canoe paddle, a camp t-shirt, a duffle bag.

Party favors are easy - inexpensive items like whistles, compasses, travel sized bug sprays or sunscreen, flashlights. They work for the theme and are useful too!

We have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Camp theme party. You'll have to adapt some of the ideas but it has more decoration and favor ideas in it.http://www.party411.com/PlanYourParty/Occasion/BarBatMitzvah/LetsgotoCamp.aspx

We have several more kid's birthday themes here if you'd rather do something different, adults would probably enjoy bowling, circus, outerspace and cowboy too
