birthday party invitations turning 50 image

My husband turns 50 in 2 weeks and i was planning a giving him a birthday dinner but now he´s told me that if I don´t invite his daughter (25) than not to do anything at all. That he would feel uncomfortable if she´s not there.She and I have not spoken for over 2 years (we had a huge fight) and I honestly do not want her to come to the party I´m hosting . Why can´t she just give her Dad another party with whom or where she wants? Also she doesn´t get along with the majority of my husbands family and they said that if she went they would not Attend. So the question is: Do I still give the party and not invite her or should i just let this one go? I feel like this would be hypocrisy on my behalf just cuz it´s his birthday..I do not want to see her not even in paintings. I´ve been married for 9 years and I´m 30. Thanks .

Don't throw a party. Make arrangements for a getaway for you and your husband for some time later (maybe a couple of months from now) and give him the invitation to the getaway in a birthday card. If your husband wants to get together with his daughter on his birthday he can arrange that for himself. Don't get in the way if that's what he chooses to do.

We call it Stephen-mas, but my uncle is turning 50 and I'm making the invitations to his birthday gala. The party is Dec 24th. Trying to stay away from the christmas theme and still be clever.

Do a beach themed party or luau! It's always fun, and it'll be funny to have a summer party in the middle of the winter. Or maybe do an Australian Christmas- since they're on the other side of the globe, they have X-mas in the middle of summer, and sometimes celebrate by going to the beach.
