I am trying to decide if I should throw a surprise party for my mom for her 64th birthday. I have already bought a few things for the party (a banner, invitations, and a few prizes for games), but now I am second guessing if she would want the party. My mom does not like being the center of attention and doesn't like a lot of money spent on her.

My mom raised me by herself and she is a great mother. We never had a lot of money growing up, but I always had an amazing Christmas and birthday. I am an only child and me and my mom are close. I was born on her 40th birthday, so I always received a party, but for the last 23 years she has not had any birthday.

I am wondering if I should just tell her what I am planning and see what she says. Our birthday is tomorrow, but I had the party planned for February 23rd.

So do you think I should throw the party or not? I could always use the money that I was gonna spend on the party, to spend on her and get her some stuff that she needs and wants.

Answer
i 100% agree with ron. take the money you were going to spend on the party and take her some place nice, just the two of you! a spa day is a GREAT idea. same with dinner, an overnight getaway (stay at a nice b&b), seeing a play or going to the symphony.. anything special that she would like. someone who doesn't like to be the center of attention does NOT want a surprise party!

I need help figuring out an ORIGINAL party theme for a 15th birthday party. Please Help!?

I need the party theme to be very original. One of a kind. A thene that not many people would think of. It needs to be outside of the box.

The party is for a girl and the budget doesnt matter.

Need more info on what do you like, when is it going to be and do you have a budget??

But anyway.. how about an underground rave party... you can have the party anywhere there´s enough space for everyone you are inviting....

decorations... just cover the whole walls and ceiling in black or a dark color like plastic trash bags, use neon or glow in the dark spray paint to put fun words on the walls and even do some fashionable graffiti... use black lights and have a dj with a light show

food and drink.... have a buffet table with sub sandwiches, salads, pasta and chips and lots of different sodas and punch and water..

invitations.... have a hush hush invitation, VIP only flyer kind of invite, but do not put the location of the party until the day before or the same day of the party on a web site of your choosing (tell them to check it out at a specific time, because it´s only going to be there for a few minutes)

door prizes or goodie bags... you have to have them... give away glow in the dark bracelets or different stuff that glows in the dark... give a good prize for a best dancer (do a dance of)

security.... you have to have some grown ups at the party to make sure everything goes smoothly and if you have party crashers then your party will be a blast....

was that something you where looking for in the out of the box ideas....????

have fun...!!!!
