Answer
Home Spa Party

Theme:
Home Spa Party

Invitations:
Use our Printable Spa Party Invitations or create your own. The invitations look especially beautiful printed on parchment paper. (Parchment paper is available at most office supply stores.) After printing, cut around the edges and fold. Next, print, cut and fold this matching envelope.

Alternatively, you could tie special soaps or candles with raffia or ribbons and
attached a tag inviting your guests. This works well if you have the ability to hand-deliver your invitations or if you don't mind the cost of packaging them properly and mailing them.

Decorations:
Candles! Lots of candles and soft lighting. Candles create a tranquil atmosphere... a cozy, peaceful setting.
Set up small intimate seating areas around tables with beautiful aromatic hand creams, nail polishes and nail grooming tools. Include some small plates of chocolates and candy. Have some soft instrumental music playing.

Also, a great added touch is to provide your guests with bottles of water (in keeping with your decor) at any relaxation station. Try replacing the original labels on bottled water with these Printable Water Bottle Labels. It doesn't take much work to add this special touch to your party. Give one to each of your guests as they arrive and/or have them scattered about the room in pretty baskets.

Food:
Fresh fruit and vegetables trays are perfect for a spa party. Add some delicious creamy or zesty dips for the vegetables and chocolate fondue, whipped yogurt or caramel dips for the fruit.

Cheese trays and shrimp rings are also excellent choices. Make them up yourself or order them from your local deli.

If you're feeling ambitious a few canapes and petite fours would also add to the luxuriousness of your spa party. You can find some great recipes at allrecipes.com

Activities:
For those of you who can afford it, hire a professional or two to come in and do massages, facials, manicures and/or pedicures. Nowadays there are even mobile spas available in a lot of cities.

For those of you on a tighter budget... Have someone you know with experience in essential oils come down and give an interactive teaching and demonstration on making natural beauty products at home. If you don't know someone you may be able to hire someone. Otherwise, do some research at Essential Oil Recipes. They have a great selection of home spa recipes and aromatherapy information.

There are also several homemade spa recipes available
in the free beauty tips ebook you'll receive when signing up for Girl Stuff.

Prepare a short teaching on what you've learned to share with your guests.

Set up a table for your guests to make one or more beauty products and demonstrate step by step how to make the products. (Be sure to test the products beforehand.)

The dollar store has a lot of pretty glass bottles and jars that are perfect for putting homemade massage oils, body lotions, body scrubs or facial masks in (some of them sell for as little as 3 for $1).

One easy, inexpensive body scrub recipe to try requires only three ingredients:

1/8 cup fine sea salt
1/4 cup grapeseed,apricot or almond oil
1-2 drops essential oil of choice
(Adjust the recipe to suit the amount you would like to make)
Store in a cool area.
Instructions:

1. Place salt in a widemouthed jar and cover with grapeseed, apricot, or almond oil. Scent with essential oil. Stir well.
2. To use, dampen your body and vigorously but gently massage the salt and oil mixture into the skin in a circular motion. Be careful to avoid any scratched or wounded areas. Rinse with warm water. Dry with a towel.
Let your guests sample their creations on their hands or let them take turns giving each other a hand scrub, massage and lotion treatment. For instructions on giving a simple hand massage visit Aroma Care.
If you've got the room and the time, try a facial mask recipe and then let your guests put it on, sit back, and relax to soft music and candlelight as they wait for their masks to set.

Be sure to have lots of fresh warm towels on hand and easy access to rinse water. You might want to throw the towels in the dryer while your guests are resting with their masks on.

Note: Lavender essential oil is very soothing and relaxing as well as others. Essential oils are available at health food stores and the price range is quite wide. You may want to pick 1-3 scents in a price range you can afford. Sea salts and grapeseed oil are very affordable.

There are some precautions you need to take with essential oils because they are highly concentrated extracts.

Keep away from eyes.
Never take them internally.
Do not apply them directly to skin (always mix them with a carrier oil like grapeseed, mineral, almond or apricot oil).
Don't increase the amount of essential oil in a given recipe. (Some oils are toxic in large amounts.)
Do not use on pregnant women or children under the age of two.
Keep in mind that ginger, lemon, orange and bergamot essential oils can cause skin irritation if exposed to sun, so don't go out in the sun for 6 hours after using these oils in your recipes.
If you have any questions about essential oils, be sure to do some research and/or talk to a natural health professional.
Prizes:
A great door prize for a spa party would be a gift certificate for a massage, a manicure, a pedicure, a facial or any other beauty treatment. Also, a basket of bath and beauty products is always a good choice.

Favors:
Print a copy of Create a Home Spa on pretty paper. Roll it up (like a diploma) and tie a piece of ribbon or raffia around it. You could also add a beautiful candle and tie them together.
(Note: The Create a Home Spa article mentioned immediately above was written by Julie Hunt - founder of SHE, the foremost inspiration and personal development resource for women who want to live brilliant, happy, successful lives.
Visit her at http://www.shesite.com ------- Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com )

Tie a facecloth and a bar of body soap together with raffia or ribbon.

Get some small pretty jars or sachet bags and fill them with bath beads, bath salts or your own homemade scented epsom salts.

Mall scavenger hunts can be a lot of fun provided common courtesy is exercised. Remember you will be playing where other people are doing business. Even if your prime objective is to have fun, the store owners want to make money and provide a pleasurable shopping experience for their costumers. In other words, don't be disruptive, rowdy or annoying. Other than that, lace up your shopping shoes and ... HAVE FUN!!!
Note: Some malls do not allow you to take photos in the mall. Please check with your mall before planning a mall photo hunt.

Mall Photo Scavenger Hunts NEW
Plan a Mall Photo Scavenger Hunt. Bring your friends, cameras and a few copies of our Mall Photo Scavenger Hunt List. Shopping without cash has never been so fun.

If you can't get enough of taking photos at the mall try our second Mall Photo Hunt which involves photographing team members posing in or with different items available at the mall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best Buy Scavenger Hunt
Your mission for this scavenger hunt is to find the lowest price in the mall for specific items. Make your own list or use our printable Best Buy Mall Hunt.

Note: Teams do not purchase the items; they just find them and record their finds.

Each team should be given a list, a pencil and an eraser. The list provides spaces for recording the name of the store and the price for each item. A pencil and eraser are necessary because teams will more than likely find better prices on certain items as they travel from store to store.

Set a time limit and choose a $ penalty ahead of time for teams that come back late.

Have the teams tally the total price of all the items on their lists. (If a team was unable to find an item they must write in the highest price of that item recorded by the other teams, plus $1) If there are any questions about the legitimacy of a recorded price, they can be checked out at the applicable stores before declaring a winner.

Winning team is the team with the lowest total recorded price.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alphabet Shopping Hunt
For this hunt each team is allowed to spend $10 total or whatever amount you agree upon beforehand. It is best to keep the amount minimal, since that increases the difficulty of the hunt.

The teams must search the mall for items beginning with each letter of the alphabet (26 total) and buy them. They must also bring back a receipt for every item purchased. This is definitely an exercise in creativity.

Set a time limit. The winning team is the team who comes back with the most items (only one item per letter). If there is a tie, the winner is the team who spent the least amount of money.

Note: You should set a penalty for any team coming back late. Do this before the hunt starts.

How much can you buy for $10 these days? You might surprise yourself.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Color Me Pink Shopping Hunt
This hunt follows the same instructions as the one above. The only difference is that teams must search for items in a particular color instead of items representing the letters of the alphabet.

The winning team is the team that brings back the most "pink" items (or whatever colour you choose beforehand).

As in the hunt above, receipts are required and you should set a budget and time limit, as well as a penalty for any team coming back late.

Cool Games Ideas:
Flag Football- Guys against girls or combine players. Put two kiddy blow-up pools on each touch down goal pads.
~~~~~~
Foam Frisbees - Make a target out of plywood or foam core board (available at art supply stores) for Frisbees. Paint the board with a fun design and cut out holes large enough for the Frisbees to go through. Each player gets to throw three Frisbees at the target. It's helpful to have at least two sets of Frisbees on hand so one helper can chase Frisbees while the other helper works with the next person in line.
~~~~~~
OLYMPIC GAME SUGGESTIONS
Make an Olympic Torch. Have teams with at least 2 runners on each team (preferably 4 runners), and have a relay race by passing the torch.
Set up an obstacle course at park using lawn furniture, old tires, and anything else you can find that people have to go around, climb under or over, and go through.
Make some Water Weights and have a weight lifting competition.
Play volleyball, but instead of trying to hit the ball back and forth, each team must catch the ball with a blanket and throw it back the same way!
Set up six 2-liter soda pop bottles (put a few inches of water in the bottom of each bottle) like bowling pins, and see who can knock the most down by kicking a soccer ball.
Make your own Bean Bags and have a throwing competition. Use boxes, cans, paper bags, etc to make targets.
Try this peanut toss game. Who can get the most peanuts in?
Try a Tug-O-War team! For added fun, place the center of the rope over a small, inflatable swimming pool. From pulling, whomever team who touches the water in the pool first loses.
Put an egg on a spoon and walk across an area; make an obstacle course if you like. If you don't want to use an egg, try a marshmallow.
Have a discus and/or javelin-throwing contest using paper plates and drinking straws.
Make tennis rackets and set up a tennis competition.
~~~~~~
BALLOON BRIGADE RELAY RACE
This fast-paced race lets winners go out with a real bang. Need: balloons.
1. Assemble each team in single file with the first player in each line holding a balloon.
2. When the whistle blows, each lead player passes the balloon between her legs to the next person in line. Each recipient, in turn, passes the balloon overhead to the teammate directly behind her.
3. The balloon is passed alternately between players' legs and over players' heads all the way down the line. When the last person receives the balloon, he or she races to the front of the line and the balloon pass resumes.
4. The relay continues in this fashion until one of the original players regains position at the front of her line and pops the team balloon.
~~~~~~
SUCKER
Suck or eat a long strand of licorice as fast as you can. Very long thin pieces of licorice for each player. As many players you can get to play. Need: Buy a big box of strawberry laces or licorice (the longer the better). Everyone has to put one end in his or her mouths. The idea is to lick/suck up the lace without using your hands as quick as possible. The room will go silent with the concentration then explode in a fit of giggles when every sees everyone else looking silly! The winner is the first to eat their lace all up yes they can chew donât want them to choke.
~~~~~~
CHEETOS HEAD
Try to throw Cheetos at your teammate and make them stick to their head covered with shaving cream. 6 or more players. Needs: plastic shower caps, Cheetos, and shaving creams. One person is seated on a chair. A plastic shower cap (or plastic wrap) is placed on the individual's head. Shaving cream is applied over the entire shower cap. The other team member or members stand behind a line opposite the seated player. During a preset period of time (60-120 seconds), team members throw Cheetos at the seated player and attempt to get them to stick on the shaving cream. The seated player can assist by moving his head to help "catch" the Cheetos.
The team with the most Cheetos stuck on the shaving cream wins.
~~~~~~
WATER BALLOON TOSS
Try to catch water balloons! Need: water balloons. With each successful catch move further and further apart. Pair off players into groups of two and have them face their partner about 3 feet apart. Begin tossing balloons to each other. Every time the balloon is caught the player that caught the balloon takes a step back. Eventually someone is going to get wet!

You win by being the furthers apart while still successfully catching the water balloon
~~~~~~
BLIND BEACH VOLLEYBALL (Set This Up Before Guests Arrive)
Volleyball played with a beach ball and with no visibility to the other side of the court. Active. A lot of movement may be required. 6 or more players. Needs: Volleyball court and net, beach ball and sheets or blankets. Standard volleyball rules apply. Except that a blanket or sheet is draped over the net preventing each team from knowing when the ball is coming. A beach ball should be used instead of a standard volleyball. One team serves and the other team has three hits to get it over the net. Serves cannot be returned on the first hit. The first hit for the receiving team must be an underhand hit (a bump). If the ball touches the ground before going over the net, it is returned to the other team for another serve. If a serving team can keep the opposing team from returning the ball, they score a point. If the serving team allows the ball to touch the ground or has greater than three hits, the ball moves to the other team and they serve. The ball must stay within the court boundaries or else a side out results. First team to 15 wins.
~~~~~~
FROZEN T-SHIRT CONTEST
Get your frozen T-shirts on first. Active. A lot of movement may be required. As many players you want. Need: frozen T-shirts. T-Shirts are thoroughly soaked the day before and folded up like you would put them away in a drawer. Place them in the freezer overnight. For the contest, everyone grabs a frozen T-shirt and the first one to get their T-shirt all the way on wins. You can have as many players as you have T-shirts. The contestants can do anything to try and get their shirts apart. Some sit on them trying to warm them up, some have poured drinks on them trying to get them to melt. Have them use their imagination as to how they will get the shirt undone and on.
~~~~~~
WATER BALLOON TOSS THROW (Itâs just like the game of Dodge Ball or Laser Paint Gun, only you will get wet and stained) Fill the balloon with water and few drops of food color (or any dye color to get the real color out) inside the balloon, do this outside or in the sink plus wear old clothes while doing this. Use several of color to make team. Rule of this game is not to throw above the breast/chest to the face/head. If someone did⦠is out of the game. And arenât allow to throw hard, you only allow to toss throw. It is safer and everyone will have a good time. Divide the team by food color choice. Call friends/family and have them buy balloons and give them the choice of food color and let them do this at home and bring it to the party. This way you have tons of balloons not to do it yourself. Also you got to pick the team for them without them knowing who is on his/her team⦠You get the ideas! Needs: water balloons, select of food colors or dye colors. Or you rather use water gun instead of the balloons... I prefer to do balloons, cuz' water gun runs out fast of water.
PS. Tell your guests to wear old white shirt and old short or bring it to the party. Because once you are hit, the dye will not come off the clothes⦠they also can wear swimsuit, if you want to.
~~~~~~
The Piñaqua Piñata
1. Using your backyard hose, fill a medium-sized plastic trash bag with one to two gallons of water. Knot the top of the bag.
2. Tie one end of the rope tightly beneath the knot. Toss the free end of the rope over a tree branch (a parent's job) and either tie it securely or have the adult stand by to raise and lower the piñaqua.
3. To play, each kid takes a turn getting blindfolded, getting spun around three times, and then taking three whacks at the piñaqua with the piñata stick. The winner is the one who manages to break the bag and unleash the tidal wave. Needs: Medium-sized trash bag (we used a clear, 10-gallon bag), water, rope, tree, bandanna or scarf, and piñata stick
