Are there any tips or ideas for a minecraft themed birthday?

Sabrina

I'm assisting in throwing my 10 year old brothers 11th birthday. His favorite game is Minecraft. I am rather unfamiliar with the game and any ideas for a cake, decorations, or anything would be great. Thanks!

My cousin had a Minecraft party last year. It's like this:

The invitations are like:
My name is Jason, I am turning 12!
You are invited to my party
being held in a Mine.
We will battle spiders and zombies
and creepers so sneaky
we will eat cake and slime balls
you might think it's geeky
but it's really a
MINECRAFT PARTY!

There is a cake recipe on the link shown below.
On the party, we were shown a short film that was about how to survive the first part of Minecraft (since not everyone knows what that game is).

First, we went into the kitchen where we harvested a block of wood (a piece of brown paper from the "trees" on the wall), which we took to the crafting table to trade for a packet that included a cardboard pick head, a cardboard sword and four craft sticks. We covered the pick and sword in foil and then we "crafted" the items using the covered cardboard forms and some of the sticks with tape and leaving one "stick" left over. After that, we were led to the "Coal" pinata (it's a cereal box wrapped with black construction paper and filled with crumpled black paper). Using the remaining stick, we traded it for a small flashlight and batteries. An instant "torch" that we got to take home!!

Next, ate cake and milk drunk from silver cups (metal Minecraft buckets), and green slime balls (scoops of lime sherbet) to replenish all of our energy and "life" before we ventured downstairs to "mine" and "do battle" with the monsters down there.

We also had Zombie Tag and Pin the Skull on the Skeleton.

Hope it helped. And thanks to my cousin, I was able to help you with a Minecraft party. :)))

Preteen Birthday Party Idea?

The Snarkl

My sister is turning 12 on Feb. 26 and she's letting me plan the party. She loves bright colors so I was thinking maybe rainbow decorations? And on the invitations I would write a different color for each of the 4 girls to wear and tell my sister a color too. They should all be home from school by 4ish and then we'd go to the mall, get them some ice cream, and a little spending money (like 5 bucks a piece) and see what the best thing they can get with that money is. She wants a sleepover. Oh and before the mall I thought maybe I could give them all crazy knee highs to wear with their colorful outfits. Do you think her and her friends will enjoy this? She wanted to go skating, but in her group of 5 friends 3 already did skating parties, plus she can't skate, so is this a good alternative?

P.S. I know this is the wrong category but I couldn't decide where to put it.

Answer
good idea! except the skating! i know somefun games ur kid will like! BUy glow sticks and play glow stick tag! the best game ever! ok to play glow stick tag someone has to be it! the person who is it has to have a pillow case over her head so she cant see anything. the game is played in the dark. glow sticks are given to everyone and turned on the glowsticks will be visible under pillow case. the person tries to catch peeps with lights and who ever they touch is it! kinda like zombie , dead man ect. Go sleding have an epic snowball fight. oooh make snowcones! no one thought of that one! snow cones! have an unlimited amount of the flavor stuff and thier is plenty of snow outside so u use that! oh and if thier isnt enough snow outside just buy an ice shreader and a ton of ice! or u could just smash da ice wit a hammer! buy her favorite movies and let them watch em.
