Answer
Too much!! Fed-ex is expensive.

But it depends where you are?

If your in the UK i would recommend going to printing.com - if your in the USA or elsewhere, look online for cheap printing and you`ll find a better deal.

What are good ideas for a Japanese themed 15 year old girls birthday party?

Ashina

My best friend Kacie a.k.a Haruko's is planning on having a Japanese themed birthday party. I know alot more than her and I am trying to find out more. Ok she said the attire is to dress in a Kimono (which is uncommon around here) or Visual Kei, Ninja for the boys that are attending etc. I have ordered a kimono and geta ^__^ Hahaha I am losing focus. Ok so we know to hand out chopsticks and paper fans as party favors. I told her temporary Kanji tatoos would be good as well. And decorations she has not really decided but a big banner at the door and the invitations should have their names in Japanese, ne? As for food we live in middle of nowhere Alabama and we need to know where to find Sushi and Squid for rather cheap. And also the instant Yakisoba I think would be good. But decorations also paper lanterns. But could you tell me of more foods, decorations, etc? She is very important to me and I want to gelp her the best I can.

éªå
Haruko is having a Japanese themed 15th birthday. So far this is what is planned and I need more help because I want her to be happy. And I need to know of more activites? Where could we find Japanese drinks we live in Alabama and there is NOTHING here!
Decorations: Paper lanterns, A banner that says welcome in Japanese hanging somewhere, Kimono, Geta, Visual Kei, Ganguro, Dekora, Cosplay, etc...

music: An Cafe, Alice Nine, Gazette, I know plenty more I am just not sure her parents would approve and she dosen't care for traditioanl -_-

Invitations: The guests name in Japanese and also it would be good if the invatations are folded into origami shapes right?

Food: Instant Yakisoba, Fried Rice, Green tea, Sushi Cakes,
Ramen

Party favors: Paper fans, chopsticks

Activities: Karaoke

I will be turning 15 soon and I need to plan my party. Keep in mind that:
I do not drink, do drugs, or anything like that, so anything related to that is out of the question.
The party will be at my house, so no ideas that have to do with other locations please.

Also, I am really into music. Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Answer
I would make it creative...
1. Dance party
2. 70's
3. "A day at the spa"
4. Sports party
5. Make-up party
6. Pool party
7. Carnival
8. Movie night
9. Picture night
10. "Camping" party

1= Dress up really cool and dance with lots of music playing. And have a dance off!

2= Have everyone dress like they are from the 70's. And talk all night with words like... Groovy, Narley, and wicked.

3= If you have a hot tub.. Have everyone get in. Then do facials, get Mani & Pedi, read magazines, and most of all RELAX!

4= Everyone dresses up as their favorite sports player. And you play soccer, basketball, tennis, badmitton, and lots more.

5= All of the girls bring make-up and you give eachother makeovers and take pictures.

6= If you have a pool, have a pool party! With lemonade, snacks, and more!

7= Have a bunch of mini-games and buy prizes to give people if they win. (Make sure everyone wins so no one is left out!!)

8= Rent a lot of movies, and watch them all night with your friends, and of course... have popcorn, soda, and candy!

9= If you have a camera, and dress up clothes, and makeup... have everyone dress themselves up in different outfits and different makeup and take lots of pictures!!

10= If you have a tent... set it up in your backyard and have a camp out! Make a pit and have a camp fire with marshmallows and make smores!(YUMMM) Also make sure you bring all your supplies out.. because no going back inside! Unless you have to go to the bathroom but you cant grab anything while in there!

I hope you have a great party and you have a blast! Tell me how it goes and what theme you are going to do! :) gooooood luck. (BTW happy birthday, whenever it is!) =]]]

What are some cool 15th birthday ideas for about 5 girls?

as;lgkj0q2

Birthday's coming up, wanna have a fun party. They will probably all sleep over, but what are some fun things we could do?

Answer
Have your guest bring sleeping bags, flashlights, pajamas, fuzzy slippers, etc.

1. Tie a balloon with string around your guest's ankles. On "go" everyone tries to stomp on everyone else's balloon.

2. Give all guests a toothpick to put in between their teeth. They form a line and try to pass a lifesaver or any candy with a hole in it to everyone with using only your toothpick.

3. Put truth and dare cards in a balloon and have guests pick a balloon pop it and answer the truth or do the dare.

4. Play hide and go seek at night

5. Have a silly string war

6. Put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth by using facial expressions only

7. Have one girl be the pointer. She points at one girl to start off a random story then she points to another girl to continue it, and so on

8. Have a girl leave the room while everyone hides in their sleeping bags. The girl comes in and feels the bodies to guess who it is.

8. Have friends bring over board games to play

9. Have an equal pile of m&ms for every girl. One teen starts off by saying I have never... (I have never gone to Hawaii) If it is true for you, eat an m&m. Whoever has the most left wins!

10. Have a bowl of small multicolored candy (like skittles) Have everyone grab 2 candies. If they have the same color you get to eat them. If not you must keep this in your mouth. Round after round you stuff sweets into your mouth until you have 2 of the same color.

11. Play a classic game of truth or dare

12. Watch a movie.

13. Freeze dance

14. Give each other makeovers, BLINDFOLDED!

15. Play "Do You Like Your neighbor?".

16. Paint each other's finger nails.

17. Play hide and go seek in the dark!

18. Rent lots of movies!

19. Treasure hunt in the dark. (have people bring a flashlight to use)

20. Have a dance off... with bubble wrap. Try to pop the most bubbles.

21. Indoor picnic! Pack a basket of goodies, lay out a blanket in the living room, and enjoy a indoor picnic!

22. Tea party! Pull out your finest doll china (if the kids can be trusted with it) and serve hot cider, finger sandwiches, and fancy cookies. As you play you can even teach your guests proper manners for a formal occasion (ediquete).

23.Camp out! Clear some space in the basement, pitch a tent, pull out your sleeping bags, and let the kids sleep inside. (Teddy Bears optional.)

24. To a huge puzzle all together! Put your smarts together to figure it out!

25. Dance! Teach the kids your favorite dance.

26. Test Your Taste Buds! Have one person make something from ingredients in the kitchen and then other person has to put on a blindfold and eats the food. The person with the blindfold on then makes a guess at what the food is or what ingredients are in it.

27. Drama Bag Game - Fill shopping bags with 5 different items in each bag. A shoe, hat, party favor etc. - but fill each bag with different things. Divide into teams and give each team one bag. Go to different rooms and create a skit which includes all items in the bag. After 15 minutes come back and perform. Variation: Create a song or commercial.

28. Play Maufia.

29. Talk! Late Nights are a good time for friends to just get together and talk too!

30. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

For dinner have a "Mystery Meal". Give each guest a menu, but have the items coded like Dr.Pepper is Physicians spice. It is funny to see your friends so confused! Here are some more ideas:
âNeptune's Tridentâ (fork)
âPucker Upâ (lemonade)
"Shovel" (spoon)
"Finger Puppets" (olives)
"Early Morning Alarm" (chicken)
"Gold nuggets" Clue- Pocahontace (corn)

Slumber Party Menu

Pizza - take out or have more fun making your own with fun toppings.
Chips and dip
Veggie tray with dip
Fruit tray with dip
Make Rice Krispie Treats, Brownies or Cookies at midnight
Fondue
Hot Chocolate
Sleepover Smores
Smoothies

Make a Tutu! Instrunctions here: http://www.birthdaypartyideas4kids.com/tutu-craft.htm

Hope I helped!

I am planning a fairytale/fantasy themed dance and need decorating ideas, any ideas?

cellist723

I am planning it for a camp where kids go who have or have had cancer and one of the nights there is a dance, and the theme is fairytale/fantasy. The dance will be outside, and the kids age range is 6-12 years old. Any ideas would be very helpful!

Answer
Thousands of tiny white (Christmas) lights everywhere. Fairies made of poster board, floating in trees spot-lighted with uplights: the bodies can be painted soft colors, the wings even lighter colors, cover them heavily with matching-color glitter. Yards and yards of netting, gauze, other very sheer fabrics hanging down, backlit with tiny lights. White, slightly-twisted crepe paper swags between buildings, trees, any tall upright item (lamp-post, basketball hoop), along any fences, and add tiny lights if possible. Use glass blocks (like those for shower windows) as table centerpieces: decorate with white Christmas balls, wired ribbons, figures, fairy wings, and insert battery-operated loops of Christmas lights inside the glass blocks. I Googled "fairy party theme" and a lot of sites came up. They're almost uniformly geared toward younger children, but this one has lots of ideas that could work with older children: http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/fairy.html It has ideas from moms who created fairy parties, including dragonflies, butterflies, costumes for the kids, and ideas that will appeal to boys: "Magical Forest Party" is good. "Enchanted Forest 8yr" has a wonderful idea for a story that keeps kids moving from place to place to "hear"/carry out the story, which should enchant even your 12 year olds. I didn't click on all of them, or on all of the sites (many of which are trying to sell party supplies but could still give you ideas), but there's a lot of ideas to be found. Hope everyone has a blast!

What is a good way to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary camping?

Beth N

We go camping every year--big family thing---about 60-70 people. One of my boyfriend's brothers is having a 25th wedding anniversay around that time and I offered to throw a 25th party while we are there. Informal of course, but what are some ideas for food/gifts/decorations? We're camping---so we have to keep it relatively simple/no frills. Ideas? Thoughts? He thought it was a great idea!

Answer
25th wedding Anniversary is BIG, it's the SILVER year! You can decorate in anything silver. If you can bring up a helium tank and get some silver and white balloons, you can decorate with them. You can get some silver and white streamers and put them around where they're going to be. Get some round, white, paper laterns, the ones with NO light in them and hang them around the party area.

What would look really nice, if you can do it is get some clear, stringed, Christmas lights and hang them all around the party and camp area where you're all going to be. The twinkling of the lights will add such a nice effect to the party atmosphere. Even just having them up without the balloons would look really pretty!

You can do the lights, the streamers, and then if you can, the balloons and lanterns. Bring up some white or greyish/silver paper tablecloths and then have white plates and white forks, knives, and spoons, etc. You want some things to be silver/grey. If you go to a party store or Costco you can get plastic silverware that looks like real silverware, they are silver and look metal, but they are plastic! You can bring up a box of them and it will wow everyone! If you don't have a Costco, check Sam's or BJ's and if you don't have a membership, ask someone who does if they can go and pick up a box. You can even use them your entire trip, there are hundreds of them in there, or you can put the rest of the box away for another occasion.

For food, do whatever is the couple's favorite food. Being your going to be camping I would keep it simple. If they love bbq, do that, if they love chicken, do that. Whatever you know of their favorite food that's doable while camping, do it! It's their anniversary and their party, have what they like and make it about them! If they like pasta bring up a pasta dish and then reheat it there, if they like chicken cooked a certain way maybe it can be done before going to the campsite and then reheated there. Do what they like, or you can just bbq and make it fun for them. They know they'll be camping and I'm sure they're just going to be happy that they're with their family and they're going to be SO happy you're going through all this for them, that's going to mean SO much to them! I'm sure they're not expecting anything and it's just going to mean a LOT to them! They're probably thinking they'll just do dinner when they return home, and that they're happy they're with their family. You can do burgers, hot dogs, and grilled chicken with some salads, and then do some sides. Maybe another family member can do the sides and another do a pasta dish, and then rolls, etc. I would keep it simple being you won't have access to a kitchen and cooking the way you would if you were home, and I'm sure no matter what you do, they're going to LOVE!!

You can also do a cake for them. You can do a tiered cake and then a sheet cake so that there's enough for everyone. You can ask someone else to do the tiered cake so you're not doing it all. Or have it made somewhere. You can do a round cake or square with 2 layers, and then do it like a wedding cake. You can get a number 25 for the top of the cake, and then have that cake and the sheet cake which should be enough for everyone. You can even get the sheet cake at one of the warehouse stores like Costco, or Sam's, or BJ's and then make the main cake, or order that one too.
You can even do cupcakes if that's easier and ask someone to help you, you can make the cake part of them and then ask someone to help decorate them when you get to the campgrounds. I'm sure the teens or older kids would LOVE to do that and it would be a great way for them to pitch in and help! You can do chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and ice them in white icing and put some silver accents on top, those little nonperils, and then pipe some designs, the kids would love doing that, let them decorate them!

For gifts, you can go and get one of those collage frames, the one that is one frame, but has lots of openings for pictures. You can put pictures of the two of them in the frames, from their wedding to now, but leave 2 spots blank, one to write Happy 25th Anniversary with the dates and then one to take a picture on their actual anniversary and put the up to date picture in the frame. They would love having something where they can see pictures of just the two of them through the years, and hang it on their wall, it's a scrapbook of their lives in a way.

You can also get them something silver being it's the silver anniversary, silver candlesticks, silver picture framed engraved with their names and the date, you can get them a gift card to their favorite restuarant, etc.

They're may feel what you're doing for them is gift enough! You're doing a lot for them putting together this party and it's going to cost you a lot to put it together, the little things are going to add up, the cost of the napkins, and paper goods, the food, the condiments, the decorations, if you do still want to do a gift you can either do something with the silver theme to go with the silver anniversary, or get them something that either you know they would want, or have talked about it, you can send them to a dinner cruise or dinner theater, you can get them something for their house or yard, you can get them a bottle of wine or champagne from the year they were married, etc.

I hope some of these ideas helped and that you and your boyfriend have a great trip and that the party goes great too!! I'm sure they are going to LOVE the party and anything that you do for them, it's the thought and being you are putting so much thought into making this perfect for them, they are going to LOVE the party!!

What are some ideas for a baby girl's first birthday party?

birthday party invitations 18 year old image

Juanita B

She likes watching the Wonder Pets and Backyardiagans on TV, basically anything with music. But I don't know if I could find party items with these themes. I have about 1.5 months of planning left and I have not even started!

Answer
First off, I know it's the first birthday and as parents we want it to be the best day ever for the little ones, but it's a 1 year old. At this young of an age the party is really for the guests and not the child anyways. They aren't going to care if you decorate in backyardiagans or old newspapers from the back alley of a circle k, seriously. God knows they will watch enough TV in their lifetime so make it less about TV characters and more about family and friends for them. KIS(keep it SIMPLE!) method for mom means less stress.

The invitations can be bright colored xerox or construction paper with the necessary info on it IE date, time, place,RSVP. Slap the baby's name on the front with some cute openers like "Look who's turning 1" and for a personal touch mabey the baby's handprint in bright color paint on the front and send em' out.

Trust me they will like the wrapping paper more than the presents, and since it's the first birthday, ask your guests to wrap something to put in a time capsule for baby that they can open at say age 18.

Any kid will eat the frosting right off a cake weather it has Wonder Pets or a simple Happy Birthday on it, you can make it really personal by having your bakery put a picture of mommy and baby or baby's hospital photo on the cake.

Use brightly colored balloons and streamers. Decorate with simple recognizeable shapes, even some paper cranes would probably be appealing to them at this age. Hang poster size pictures of the child from birth until now and include pictures of the child with family members and guests as decoration alternatives which will serve as conversation pieces for guests.

Download some kids songs and play them in the background.

The best part about a child being so young is that at this stage in their life you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on "theme" parties. Before you know it you will be working overtime to save up for these kind of birthdays, enjoy the simpleness of it while it lasts.

Happy Birthday to your little one!

what are some fun games to play at a 12 year old girls birthday party?

Q. im having a birthday party with 8 girls in about a week. were going to the movies then coming back to have a sleepover, problem is that were gonna have about 5 hours between when we get back till we decide to go to bed. what are some fun things or games to do?

Answer
Silly Race Games
Divide the kids into 2 groups for these games and have them race by:
Holding balloons between their knees
Jumping rope singing happy birthday
Balancing an object on head
Holding a balloon between two of the team members heads
Balancing a small ball on their feet
Skipping backwards
Bouncing a ball
Once they master the forward races, have them do them backwards!

Guess and Win Game
Fill a see through jar with lots of small candy, jellybeans, skittles, marbles or small toys. Count them before you put them into the jar. As the children arrive for the birthday party have them guess how many toys or candies they think are in the jar. Write down each birthday party guest's guess. At the end of the birthday party reveal who guessed closest to the right number. The winner takes home a small prize, or the whole jar with its contents! Tip; Use items related to your birthday party theme. Plastic bugs for an insect party, pink jelly beans for a pink or princess birthday party, rings for a glamour party etc.

Limbo Game
Two older kids or adults hold a pole or broomstick at child's height. Start the music and have the children bend backwards and walk under the pole without touching it. After each round lower the pole an inch or two. If a player touches the pole, they are out. Game Variation: Instead of a pole use something from your birthday party theme: Pirate Limbo - hold a play sword; Fairy Party - hold a magic wand.

Spin the Bottle Game (birthday gift opening game)
This birthday party game is fun when it is time to open the birthday presents. Have kids hold the birthday present that they brought and sit in a circle. Place the spinner (bottle or other item) in the middle of the circle and have the birthday child spin the bottle. They will then open the gift of the child the bottle is pointing to when it stops. Tip: Use an item from your birthday partyâs theme instead of the bottle - magic wand for a princess party, sword for a pirate party etc.

Telephone Game
Have children sit in a circle for this birthday game. The birthday child goes first and whispers a sentence to the person on their right. That person then whispers what they heard to the next person ⦠and so on. When the message has gone around the circle, the person next to the birthday child tells the message out loud. Then the birthday child tells the original message. Very funny to see how things repeated change! Start game again with the next person.

Pin the tail on the Donkey Games
Place a poster on the wall and put a piece of tape on the back of each object the children will be pinning on the poster. Blindfold children, spin them around, and point them toward the poster. The child who pins their object closest to the designated spot, is the winner! Tip: Use a poster from your birthday party theme for this game. Examples: Pin the spider on the web, tutu on the ballerina, nose on the clown, X on a treasure map etc.

Prize Auction Birthday Game
On the birthday party invitation ask each birthday guest to bring an inexpensive item or a "white elephant" (something that is in good shape but they don't want anymore) wrapped in paper or a sealed in a paper bag. Give the guests $20 in play money and start an auction for the unwrapped gifts. For fun you can add food and gag gifts to the auction items. Keep the gifts wrapped and don't let anyone know what is inside until the high bidder opens the item. At the end let the kids trade or buy each other's presents from each other.

Oversize Birthday Party Game
This birthday party game let's the kids really get involved! On a very large patio or driveway draw a large (VERY large!) gameboard with chalk. Make every square at least 18". Make it in the shape of a circle or oval (or a figure 8). Write "start" at the first square and then on each square write a command or action. Example: Square 2 = move ahead 3 spaces, Square 3 - jump up and down until your next turn, Square 4 = sing the national anthem until your next turn, Square 5 = go back 2 spaces ... and so on until every square is filled.

Make 2 large oversize dice from boxes at least 12 x 12 (the bigger the better!). The pieces being moved around the board are the kids themselves. They roll the dice and then move themselves along the game board. The winner is the one to reach the end space first by landing on it with an exact roll. Kids LOVE this game!

Nail Polish Song
This is a new twist on the game "Hot Potato". Sit in a circle and give a bottle of nail polish to the birthday girl. While singing the song pass the bottle around the circle. When verse is over the girl holding the bottle of nail polish opens it and paints one of her nails. Then start the song again and keep going until someone has all of their fingernails painted. You can give out prizes or just have fun singing along. Here is one version of the song ... you can easily make it to fit your daughters name

My family doesnt exactly have a lot of money for a sweet 16 and my mom and myself would like to have one for me. I need some inexpensive ideas please. Mt birthday is on the 26th of January(tthis month) and it doesnt neseccaril have to happen this month. February is a go too if need be. I'm NOT a girly girl and dont like the color pink, so no pink ideas lol. I love roses though ( red ones <3) and if you can encorperatet that into your idea some how, that would be amazing. My invite list is between 20-30 people max

Answer
If you are only having a few kids, A video night party would be fun too.

You could set up your living room like a movie theater and not spend much to do it.

Rent a couple of movies that she would like to see.

Serve popcorn in buckets, a variety of candy and chocolates and soda to drink.

Later, Serve pizza and you could even set up a nacho bar.

Ice cream cake for dessert.

Create invitations that look like movie tickets.

To decorate, you can purchase movie posters usually pretty cheap from video stores ( some will even give them away)

Another Idea is

How about a party designed around on of your school activities?

If you play any sports, basketball for example. You could have a "basketball theme" You could make cardboard cutouts of some of your favorite players and rent a court to have the party at.

Since it is a birthday milestone..... Why not an "Over-The-Top" party? Have over sized decorations and wrap the gifts in huge boxes even for little gifts. Use lots of balloons. It could be a real fun party.

How about a "Roaring 20's" party? Ask everyone to come in costume and have different gambling games and set up a "prize bar" where the guests can exchange their winnings?

If your really into fashion... How about a "Fashion Victim" Party? Have everyone where clothing that they already own but would never wear in public because it is "unfashionable". You could give out a prize to the biggest victim.

How about a "Tacky Party" ? It is similar to the fashion victim, but have everyone wear taped glasses mismatched pants and shirts. Have them bring tacky gag gifts... Ans serve tacky food like cheese sandwiches, chocolate milk, and fig newtons in the shape of a cake. Play tacky games like musical chairs, bingo, go fish, spin the bottle, Simon says, and more

How about a "movie screening" party? You could rent a new release or a favorite oldie and serve popcorn. You could have a trivia game about movies. I had a friend move her TV to her backyard and set up blankets and lawn chairs and had her screening outside. She served hot dogs and nachos from machines she had rented.

If she is into music.... How about a "Grammy After Party"? You could rent a hall or even a canopy to put over your backyard. Have a red carpet and instruct everyone to dress up. Check in your local yellow pages under performers/impersonators and see if you can hire a couple to impersonate some famous singers. Ask a few of your daughter's friends parents to be "paparazzi" and take pictures of guests entering and leaving the party. Play all the latest music. And encourage people to dance. If you are computer savvy you could make "CD" invitations. Have the birthday girl make a recording of herself inviting people to come with all the details. You can buy Cd's very cheap from discount stores and sleeves to deliver then in too.

What's your favorite color? If it's blue why not have a blue party. Make all the decorations in your favorite color, cake, and invitations.

Hope these help. Good Luck on the party!!

Any Ideas For A Girls Sport Themed Party?

Victoria

My Sister is Turning 12 In March And She Wants A sPORTS tHEMED pARTY...But For Girls(nO Football )hER fAVORITE sPORTS are Soccer...Softball...And Basketball...Websites Would Be Helpful...And We Really Need Game and Food Ideas

Answer
Sure...

Check the bowling theme...

Bowling parties already approach perfection. Kids find the game itself irresistible and love the giddy atmosphere of the alley--plus they're thrilled to wear shoes on the cutting edge of fashion. Okay, we're kidding about the shoes. (Still, how can you not have a good time when your feet look as if they've joined the circus?) Even with all this, though, a birthday party needs to feel extra-special. That's why we've jazzed up the standard bowling bash with some strikingly clever and easy ideas for invitations, party favors, party games, and a cake. They might just nudge near perfection to sheer perfection.
THE HIGHLY HIP T-SHIRT PARTY FAVOR
Download directions and templates for making customized T-shirts using your computer and specialty printing paper.
THE FUNKY CD SLEEVE INVITATION
This snazzy invite is a cinch to make: the envelope is a paper CD sleeve, the kind with the round cellophane window (sold for about 15 cents each at office supply stores). The bowling ball is a circle (4 3/4 inches in diameter) of black card stock, addressed and decorated with a white gel pen. (Note: due to the envelope's irregular size, you'll have to pay slightly more postage and write your return address on the back.)
WILD AND CRAZY PARTY GAMES
Even your most dedicated bowlers love thinking outside the frame. Just watch the party's fun level rise when the guests draw from a hat of outlandish bowling directives. Before the party, brainstorm ideas and write each on a piece of paper shaped like a bowling pin (see above).

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Bowl backward
Do a silly walk as you approach the lane
Bowl in slow motion
Bowl pretending that one of the boards in the lane's wood floor is a tightrope
Before you bowl, predict whether you will knock over an odd or even number of pins
For younger kids, consider trying the following. Between the time you release the bowling ball and the time it hits the pins: speed-sing as much of a song as possible; spell out loud the birthday child's name backward; call out as many pizza toppings/ice-cream flavors/kinds of candy as you can think of. Each bowler should then try to top the record.

Tip: Is there an arcade at your bowling alley? Then bring a big stack of quarters for your guests.

PT&L

I have a baby Mickey cake, balloons and paper goods, invitations and thank you cards. However, I'm trying to come up with a clever and fun way to incorporate the theme a little more into the party. There won't be too many children at the party (mostly adult family members) but I'm looking for ideas such as naming foods in a Mickey Theme (like "Mickey's Mac 'n Cheese") or other ways to incorporate the theme. Ideas?

Answer
Well I know for food target sells mickey mouse shaped chicken nuggets which would work great. Need help on throwing a 3yr old girl a redskins themed bday party?

jen

My daughter is turning 3 on the first and we are having a party
on superbowl weekend and she loves the redskins. "Daddys
girl" and I need ideas on decorating and games. Any ideas
please:) There will be 12 children total including her and and about 20 adults. Again any ideas

Answer
get a photo cake made at the grocery store of a good Redskins pic or logo you printed out from online
decorate in all red, gold and white
serve tailgating type foods- burgers, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad, etc
play a indoor football game- make a small table top goal post, have the kids flick (with their fingres) a paper football into the goal for prizes
make a table cloth or floor covering to look like a football field (just paint a piece of canvas or a old sheet)
try to get some big rolls of brown paper and paint it to look like people sitting in a stadium- hang it all the way around the room- all you'll have to paint is little heads and faces in the stands
I saw this- thought it was cute! http://www.elifesize.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=eLifesize&Product_Code=704&Category_Code=standin
have everyone dress in favorite team clothes (even if not Redskins) or anything football related
paint the black stuff under their eyes if they are old enough
your husband can dress like a ref and you a cheerleader
have little pom pons for the kids to cheer with, maybe some whistles (wait....maybe not- that might be a bad thing to give hyper kids!) maybe just you (or the ref!) can have one to blow to annonce whats going on next
arrange a "training camp" for the kids to do- like run through rings (like how they run through tires), get a blow up football player they have to tackle, have them throw a football into a cut out of a football player or a ring of some sort....whatever you think they can handle.
if weather permitting in your area you can have the adults play a flag football game and have all the kids cheer you on
football trivia for the adults and easier questions for the kids
you can gove the kids little favor bags with granola bars and small gatorades in them, press on tattoos of football stuff, stickers, mini helmets, football pencils/erasers, whatever you find football related
have the kids make a craft http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADBR_enUS203US203&q=football+crafts

What does formal attire mean for ladies on a Marine Corp Birthday dinner invitation?

My husband thinks a "nice dress" from my closest will do, but I think it means GOWN. Can anyone help us with this?

Answer
Ask one of the other women that will be attending. Also the location where the event is being held should be a clue. It is possible that if the men are to be in dress uniform that the women (that are not military) will be in gowns.

Wikipedia:
Formal wear (US/Canada) and formal dress (UK) are the general terms for clothing suitable for formal social events, such as a wedding, formal garden party or dinner, débutante cotillion, dance, or race. The Western style of formal evening dress, characterized by black and white garments, has spread through many countries; it is almost always the standard formal social dress in countries without a formal national costume.

The dress codes considered formal in the evening are white tie and black tie.

The continual relaxation of formal dress standards since the end of the Second World War is redefining what clothes constitute formal and semi-formal dress. The original term full dress was used in the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century to mean the most formal option available, while half dress and undress ranked beneath it. They indicated different clothes, but correspond somewhat to the twenty-first century structure of formal, semi-formal, and informal. These are the terms used by traditional etiquette and dress consultants (especially for weddings), while contemporary consultants use looser, modern definitions, in which white tie is styled as most formal, very formal or ultra formal; black tie as formal; and the traditionally informal lounge suit as pseudo-formal. Moreover, modern advisers recommend black tie for events traditionally considered to require formal dress (white tie), and alternatives for what would have been semi-formal events.

However, formal and semi-formal are unambiguous when it is known they are being used in a traditional setting, even though changing fashions can make these terms ambiguous; white tie and black tie on the other hand refer solely to the combination of relevant clothes themselves, regardless of their setting, and so are much less susceptible to misinterpretation.

Particularly in America, but also around the Western world, there has also been a relaxation regarding the dress codes themselves, with full formal dress (white tie or morning dress) almost unheard of in many places. An example of such a variant is removing the traditional, classic black bow tie required by the black tie dress code in favour of a black or coloured regular tie and waistcoat, a development which would have been unthinkable just a few decades ago.

The dress codes counted as formal wear are the formal dress codes of white tie for evenings and morning dress for daytime, as well as the semi-formal ones of black tie for the evening and strollers in daytime. Dinner suits and dress suits differ in which they don't follow strict coloration. (E.G. A blue bow tie worn instead of a black one.)

The clothes dictated by these dress codes for women include cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and ball gowns. For many uniforms, the official clothing is unisex. Examples of this are law court dress, academic and graduate dress, formal military uniforms and formal military evening dress.

: White tie
The required clothing for men is roughly the following: a (dress) tailcoat; formal trousers, uncuffed, with stripes on leg seams; white piqué bow tie; white piqué vest (waistcoat); white piqué front or plain stiff-fronted shirt with a detachable wing collar; cuff links and shirt studs; black patent leather court shoe; accessories.

Women wear a variety of dresses. See ball gowns, evening gowns, and wedding dresses. Business attire for women had a developmental history of its own and generally looks different than formal dress for social occasions.

Black tie
Main article: Black tie
Briefly, men wear a dinner jacket (tuxedo coat); trousers, uncuffed, with one stripe on leg seams; shirt (stiff wing or soft folded collar) with either a placketed, pleated, piqué, or ruffled front; a black bow tie; a black evening waistcoat or a cummerbund; black, patent leather or calf Oxfords or court shoes; cuff links and shirt studs; accessories.

Again, a variety of dresses is worn by women, including cocktail dresses, little black dresses, and evening gowns.

Why do parents in the USA allow children to play with toy guns?

Hardcore l

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1233405/Buy-children-toy-weapons-Christmas-face-armed-raid-police-warn-parents.html

Look at what Europe is doing; the UK is setting a fine example and I hope to see this happening in the USA very soon.

Answer
i have 2 boys & do not allow them to play with toys guns. i hate them & don't understand the point of them. as a matter of fact, i don't allow any toys that are associated with war or fighting. there is enough danger & violence out there in the world, the least i can do, is make sure that their home is a happy, secure & safe place for them to grow up in. i think to let them play with toy guns is to teach them that fighting is the best way to resolve a conflict. i also think that these toys diminish the dangers of real guns to kids. i don't want my boys to think that having a gun is cool or "i had a toy one, how bad can a real one be?" when we have the kids' birthday parties. i specifically write on the invitation "please, no toy guns or any toys that imitate doing harm to another." and yet at my oldest son's last party, there was a toy gun as part of a cowboy kit & i took it away as soon as i saw it.

that said, i do believe that americans have the right to bear arms & protect their home & loved ones. when the time comes, my husband & the other men in my family will teach them about guns & gun safety b/c i'd much rather they learn about them at home than from some kid at school. i wouldn't neccisarily want them to have guns but as americans it will be there choice & their right.

What kind of business/job could an 11 yr old take up this summer?

birthday party invitations for 5 yr old image

cam - [ily

An 11 yr old girl wants to make money this summer. What are good types of businesses other than lemonade stands or babysitting (not the obvious ones) Or a summer job? Could work with friends or 12 yr old brother?

P.S. In hawaii

Answer
Here is a short list of summer jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

Good luck!

advise about birthday party invites from school?

suzieq

I have a son 5 yr old and a step son 5 yr old who both live with us full time. they go to same school but different classes. my son got a invite to a costume birthday party, should i not take his step brother too? i hate he doesnt get to go but i thought it might be rude to bring an extra kid. what are the rules on this?

Answer
Several ways you could handle this.

You could call the parent and explain your situation and ask if it would be a huge intrusion for the step son to attend the party as well. He probably didn't get an invite because he' s in a separate classroom. Apologize to the host and offer to bring something to help with the party (like a bag of chips; some candy; etc). If the party is at a party place or where the host is paying for the number of kids to attend or for them to participate in some activity (bowling) then let her know you'll pay the extra (and then actually do it). Most hosts won't mind if you call ahead to work out the details. If it's a sleep over, I would not recommend it or if the host is having to transport the kids to an activity, again, too much inconvenience. Under the circumstances you describe, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with the addition of another child.

You could take your step son on a special outing to see a movie or out to dinner so that he's attending a special outing. You might ask him if he's comfortable attending the party where he won't know many of the kids (except your son). He may not even want to go.

I would take this as an opportunity to sit down both kids and explain that although they are the same age and attend the same school, they won't always have the same friends and from time to time, one of them might get an invitation to do something that the other won't.

Kids are more understanding that parents sometimes give them credit for.

Barbie is celebrating her 50th birthday in style. She's having a bash in a REAL Malibu Dream Home, designed especially for her 50th birthday, which is ACTUALLY March 9th. I was really stoked to find out about it in Vanity Fair, especially since I live right by Malibu. Is there any way to get an invitation to the event? I actually met the creator of Barbie in 2000 at a big new Century New Years bash.
Please help me! I REALLY want to find out if it's possible to attend this once in a lifetime party. Thanks!!

my girlfriend Birthday is aug 18. now she want a party in the park how much money and work am i looking at.she want it to be a bbq party maybe 10people. help
thanks for your help. now she just want dinner

Answer
She has you under her thumb...
Invitations. Ten people for a bbq = 20 burgers, 20 dogs, drinks, ice, lots of potato salad and cole slaw, 5/6 large cans baked beans, buns for everything, chicken to bbq, chips, dip, condiments.
You invite ten, twenty will show up.
Cake, ballons, charcoal, grilles, aluminum foil, coolers, party favors, rides for people without cars, folding chairs, plates, forks, spoons, cups, paper towels, a gallon of water, etc.
Did you reserve an area in the park? Or are you just going to show up and hope for the best?
Take her out to a great restaurant with another couple, it will be a lot cheaper and a lot less time consuming.

We're looking for a Little Einstein birthday cake and can't find one anywhere. We're thinking of having a bakery design a cake using action figures we found, but we can't find rocket. If anyone has seen a small rocket figure (maybe around 3-6 inches) or an actual Little Einstein's cake, please let me know. Am also looking for Little Einstein balloons and any other party supplies. So far, we've only found the invitations, thank yous, plates, cups, banners, napkins, and stickers.

You can order the party supplies from Target online http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-1037609-7793716?asin=B000GIB58M&afid=yahoossplp&lnm=B000GIB58M|Baby_Einstein_1st_Birthday_Deluxe_Party_Kit&ref=tgt_adv_XSMG1060
The cake you might find at wal-mart's bakery, they have all kinds of decorations in their book of themes that they always keep next to the cake counter.

You could try to get the action figures like these and put them onto the cake http://www.toywiz.com/einsteins.html
Good Luck!!!!

What can I do for a surprise party?

I need to plan a surprise party for my friend, have it at my own house, and I can't spend too much money. Any ideas?

Answer
Okay well you need to send invitations. Make sure you tell them it's a surprise party and to keep quiet about it! On the invite tell people to bring a desert or you can assign people things. (If their last name starts with an A-H, they bring soda, etc.) If you go to a party supply store like Party Tree, you can get low cost party items. Target and Wal*Mart have good ones too. You can make your own surprise signs and Happy Birthday signs. If you need help ask one of your other friends to help you with the decorating (you could even split the costs!).

Good Luck!
Have fun!!
