Need help on creative ideas to combine Birthday and Baptism invitation into one!?

MaRi

My daughter is having her 1st birthday (minnie mouse theme) and baptism the same day! So I have bought minnie invitations and was thinking of making my own invitations on thicker paper to include in the party invitation. I was thinking of making about business card size. Any creative ways to do this? I have those fun decorative scissors to make a nice little shape around the baptism invite. Anything at all would be nice. Ribbon? Glue? what to do!?

Answer
You could cut your thicker paper into the shape of a cross that is a little smaller than the Minnie Mouse envelopes, and print the Baptism information along the horizontal beam of the cross. You could put a cute ribbon bow at the top of the cross, in a color that matches the Minnie Mouse invitations, and just put them in the envelope together. =)

I want to throw my son a birthday party and have it like pirate themed, i was looking to get invitations that resemble this http://tp-images-cache.tp-global.net/product/6528/panel/1/color/01/width/420/height/420.jpg
but dont want to spend $150 on cards alone! is there any place or anything online that is reasonably priced for invitations- Thanks!

Answer
We handmade our invitations. It wouldn't be too hard to find pirate themed paper, stickers and cut-outs at your local Michael's. Handmade invites can also make a nice keepsake.

Are you more willing to go to a party when the invitation is unique?

Lon

My daughter is going to have her birthday soon, and the theme is rainbow candyland. Well there are so many options for invites from super fancy moveable ones to plain cardstock that has fill-ins for the basic info. The people I'm inviting are mostly friends so its not like they don't know me well. But are you more psyched about going when the invite is all cool and unique?

Answer
Im going to be honest and say "yes."

I think when the invite is unique, handmade, costly or all three I think 'Gosh, it must have taken forever to do this. The least I can do is go to their party."

Another idea for a good invite that isn't too costly is taking her picture and going to rite-aid or Walgreen's and using a format there to have her picture on the invite with the date, time, and R.S.V.P number. Every time they go to get something from the fridge they will see her cute little face and think "She is so darn cute...I gotta go."

How do you word an invitation for a joint 30th birthday for me and my sister in law?

I would like any help or suggestions as to how to word this. We will have joint family coming obviously, and have some joint friends, but the catch is that we also are inviting some of our own outside friends who won't know the other party girl. We are a little concerned that the guests will think that they will have to buy presents for both people, even though they may not know the other one... Help, what do you think???

Answer
Make up some separate invitations for people that don't know the other b-day girl. Mentioning both b-day girls on the invite may make some people feel obligated to buy a gift for someone they don't know. The mutual invitees would then receive the invitation for both of you. Many people don't buy gifts for adult birthday parties anyway.

How Do I politely say Adults only on a birthday invitation?

ariasthree

I am hosting a surprise party for my husband, and I would really like it to be adults only, the problem is we have a family FULL of children. How do I politely word this on the invite? I don't want to put "adults only" Any other ideas???

Answer
Can the people you're inviting easily attend without their children? If so, I see no problem with putting straight-forwardly on the invites that it's grown-ups only.

If the people (or some of the people) you're inviting cannot easily attend without their children, then maybe a friend or relative would host a kids' party at the same time. You could coordinate the invites so that people realize that their needs are being taken into consideration as well.

What should I buy 5 yr old twins for their birthday?

Mikki Sue7

My daughter was invited to a birthday party in a couple of weeks. It is for twins; boy/girl. The girl I have a couple of ideas for, but I have no idea what to get the boy. I asked them at school and they both smiled and said they didn't know. I asked their mom and she said that she didn't know; they only cared about opening a present. I don't want to to over spend, but want to get decent presents. Any suggestions? DVD? Games? Toys? Thanks!

Answer
Was there any theme on the party invitation? If so, go off of that (i.e. Spiderman toys for the boy/Barbie for the girl if it was a Spidey or Barbie invite.)

Otherwise, craft sets are always good. They have this awesome sidewalk chalk out now that reacts to 3D glasses (included) that is really cool.

Consider getting them completely different things, too. I'm sure that they've had their share of "together" presents or neutral items because they're twins. Separate gifts help them form their own sense of identity and it's truly their "own" - not something they have to share.

As a mom of a 6 years old boy, I have to admit that I enjoy him receiving gifts that are a little more on the educational side - books are awesome, we LOVE doing puzzles together, and board games are great for family fun that we can all enjoy (and games like Sorry involve number recognition and counting - always a plus!)

Just about every store will print out gift receipts, so if you're concerned about the acceptance of the gift, include one in the card. It helps if the kiddos get duplicates and then they can have the joy of "shopping" for themselves!

but THROUGH WHOM i know a few people whom i would really like to invite?

Also, if i don't invite this unresponsive person, morally i am also obliged to NOT inviting his friends, whom i met though him and would like to know them better?

also, please keep in mind i don't want to appear like a pushy sleazeball and keep pushing when a person is clearly not interested in being friends.

Answer
I would not invite them. If they are no longer replying to your e-mails it sounds like they are no longer interested in being freinds and are trying to distance themselves from you, to cut you out of their life. I'd doubt they'd want to attend your birthday party anyway.

How do I deal with a friend who is developing a crush because I gave gifts for her birthday?

sugar1973

And is it too much to give a friend of a couple years a bday gift? I've had some male friends think this way. I used to think I gave gifts early into a relationship. Maybe I was looking to please people. But I have changed--I'm generous but I'm not attached to what I give to people. It's usually for birthdays. Recently a female friend started crushing on me (I'm straight), and thinks because I gave her birthday gifts--simple ones, like wine, candles, soap--that I must like her. Are these people who aren't used to getting gifts misconstruing that gesture as "love interest"? I am a generous person. A lot of my friends don't even bring gifts to bday parties. Should I just stick to giving a card to avoid needy people like this? Even my birthday card, this girl was hanging on to my every word. It was pretty generic what I wrote and I wrote "Love, (my name)".
She admitted she has a crush on me. Her behavior made me uncomfortable. I tried not seeing her for a while to diffuse her feelings, but I felt I had to at least attend her bday party. I gave a card and mentioned I bought a gift but I forgot it in the car. The rest of the evening was uncomfortable because her feelings started acting up again.

Answer
I agree with June. How do you know she has a crush on you?

Whether she has a crush on you or simply likes you as a friend, you need to be aware that it is perfectly normal for people to think you like them if you give them birthday gifts.

It is not "needy" to want to be friends with someone who has given a gift because gifts show friendship. You may not see gifts this way, but pretty much everyone else does.

In answer to your question, I wouldn't even give a card in future if you don't want to be friends with a person.

Finally, if it turns out this woman DOES have a crush on you, then be compassionate. Say you're straight. Don't make a big deal out of it. Step back--at least temporarily--to give her an opportunity to get over her feelings. Good luck.

*******
Reply:
Now I understand...

Well, you did nothing wrong by going to the party. It isn't the gift that is the problem here. It is that she is not over her crush on you. So I'd step back again.

This kind of thing is annoying and difficult to handle. Although I believe in being compassionate and relaxed when dealing with unwanted crushes, I also think that she crossed a line if she approached you while knowing that you're straight. I'm not saying she is crazy or that you should worry... Just that she may have trouble with boundaries and you should take extra care.

I would avoid doing anything that could be construed by her as a sign that you return her feelings. Don't accept her invitations to anything. If you do find yourself at an event that she's at, focus on other people. Not to be mean, but to avoid giving her any hope.

If she approaches you again, say briefly (so the message gets through) and calmly, "I'm straight. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested."

Let's hope she meets someone else soon. If any of her friends already know about this situation (don't tell anyone if they don't know because this might humiliate her), encourage them to take her out to meet other people.

Q. This is going to be a graduation party for seniors in high school, I need some great decorations at a cheap price. I am very crafty but I am having a problem coming up with and idea. I will have a red carpet at the entrance. I want to have a lot of balloons, probably black and silver. I am not sure what to put on the walls. I think for centerpieces I will put a mirror with balloons and confetti. I have access to a bunch of stand up movie charaters which I will use. Anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Answer
Have someone available with a microphone to interview the "stars" as they arrive, and someone else with a video camera to film their arrivals. A fake movie camera would work too if you don't actually want to film them. Could you make oscars to hand out to the guests or make them actual awards. Best costume, best drama queen, best comedian etc. At my daughter's school they gave out paper plate awards at band camp. You could make paper plate Oscars by drawing Oscar on the plate award.

Have a great time!

Good birthday party ideas for a 13 year old?

My daughter is turning thirteen and she doesn't want a "kiddy" party. Her idea was to take a few friends to KOA for the weekend but that's a little too pricy for my liking, and she's allergic to mosquitoes so camping isn't really ideal for her party.

She's already reached that "Mom, get out of my life! But first can you drive me and Cheryl to the mall?" stage in her life, and she's not into crafts and organized games and stuff. She just wants a place that's not childish where her and her friends can go and, as she says, "be stupid" without having parents "breathe down their necks". She doesn't want to stay at home though, because apparently home sleepovers are boring and overrated.

I'm thinking something that's under $100.00 for her plus two or three guests. Any ideas?

Answer
Depends on the time of year. Pool party at the community pool or YMCA if it's summer. My mom lives at an apartment complex where there is a pool and you can reserve the clubhouse for the day. If you know someone who lives in a place like this, ask if they can do that and you pay them back. If you can stay at home you can save a lot of money. Leave little activity tables out in the backyard with instructions (put packing tape over them so they don't get ruined) and then go off to your room and they can go to the things when they want (piñata, water balloons, relay races, movie inside, food station, "photo booth" you can manage that by having a camera and some props they can use as you take pictures that way you can supervise a bit, etc.). But that's only if it's summer. Now on to the colder months. Is there a jungle rapids or arcade near by? Go carts or putt-putt. Mall scavenger hunt (for if there are more girls) have a list of things and clues of where to find them, one person in the group HAS to have a cell phone. They can just take a picture or if it's super cheap provide money to buy it. They have to be back at a meeting place (food court usually works best) by a certain time. Indoor camping in your living room, pitch a real tent or they can make a blanket fort. A movie, bowling, fancy (but reasonably priced) dinner/lunch, etc. Just set up food, music, and decorations in your house or backyard and have a fire pit going, she can invite many friends over since it's cheaper. I hope this helps! Good luck!

what fun activity/ies can i do with my friends on a weekend as a celebration to my birthday?

nataliya05

i want to go someplace with my friends for either a one day trip or a weekend to celebrate my 19th birthday. i was thinking of something along the lines of hiking, or going skydiving, or going to see some interesting places. (i wish we could go to grand canyon but it is too far, i need something near NY) Does anyone know of any places or activities that i can plan to do on my birthday? I need to plan this by september 22nd.

Thanks to all who will reply.

Answer
Happy Birthday a little early to you. I like the skydiving thing but, just remember it can get expensive. If that is something you want to do you might want to check out these websites:

I would also be sure you ask them about their safety record and maybe do a little âbackgroundâ check on them. You are trusting them with your life after all! It really is a good time, just pick a safe company.

What about going camping for a weekend?? That is always fun, maybe you all could pick a place that has hiking, canoeing and some other activities. OK so it might not be as adventurous as Skydiving, but it can be cheap and fun! You could also find a park that has cabins for rent if you all donât want to do the tent thing. Here are some state parks that have different accommodations:

Allegany State Park

There are so many wonderful places to camp, or stay in cabins you will want to check out this site for more info:
http://nysparks.state.ny.us/parks/

I donât know who you all plan on taking but, what about doing a day spa thing and then a nice dinner and stay at a hotel? That could be fun. I am sure that a spa somewhere is running a special.

What about going Bungee Jumping?? Almost like skydiving, well kinda! It could be fun take a weekend and combine camping/cabin ect with a little adventureâ¦. I did bungee and I really liked it. I did not do it in NY so I am sorry I cannot tell you about companies but, check out this site it will help you find a place!
http://www.planjam.com/bungee.html

What about going into NYC and site seeing? Donât know if you have done this or not but, it can be fun! Itâs your birthday pick the places you want to see, you want to eat at ect⦠You could also go to Coney Island or the beach those are always good options. What about taking surf lessons??? There are tons of surf shops by the beach that offer lessons. You and your friend could have a great time doing this! Get a place near the beach and have a great weekend!

Go site see at Niagara Falls. Donât know if you have ever been there but, it really is cool. Again you could camp or get a room. There is tons of stuff to see and the falls are just amazing!

Okay now here is a crazy idea, my friends and I for my 20th birthday got together and had a slumber party at one of those indoor kids places, Tumble Drum where I live. You know one of those places that has the indoor play ground. We put together games and we really had a good time. We had pizza and acted like kids for the evening, they had tunnels, slides and more. Yeah they built this place for kids but, this was one of my best birthdays. We had a great time and well for our age it was just crazy!

Speaking of slumber parties you could always have one and do silly games, do something like a driving scavenger hunt those are always fun. Make up a list of things each team has to findâ¦.spread the places out so they have to drive, put a time limit on it and the team to bring back the most wins. Put a time limit on it so your friends come back! Have food delivered; get some good movies you want to see. I know sounds childish but, my friend and I try to do this once a year and we just have a great time!

What about a roadtrip?? Look at a map and find some places you have always wanted to go, map your highways and set out on an adventure, heck don't even find places just pick some highways and go for it! You never know what you will discover and you all will have a great time!

Is there a concert, play or something else you want to see coming in town?? Yeah it might not be on your birthday but, a group of you going to see something you want to see and having some dinner can really be a lot of fun! I guess the best answer for you is be creative, think outside the box, think of things YOU want to do, have always wanted to do and plan it. After all it is your day! I hope this helps you good luck!

Getting ready to have a 16th birthday party need ideas!?

blackcat12

So, my 16th birthday is coming up and I need ideas on what to do. My parents are going to allow me to have a party if I want. But, I don't really know how to plan one or things we could do at the party so every one wouldn't get bored. So, I need ideas, help please!
Also, money isn't a big deal. I can't spend a fortune, but my dad will buy anything I want, within reason.

Answer
I don't know what you like, but here's some theme ideas:

The Hunger Games~you can recreate it, with water guns and food that fit the theme of districts. The invites can mention them being chosen in the reaping, and "Happy Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor".

Acting~You can assign (or draw from a hat) roles for everyone: a name, a description of their character, and maybe a prop, like a tie or hat. They have to maintain their character and if they break character, they're out of the game and are able to act normally. They can team up with people that are still in the game try to make other players break character to help their team win. The last person remaining in character is the winner.

Cooking~Have a cooking party, if you like it. You can watch Julie & Julia, and cook fun recipes, and have a taste-test to see who the winner is, and if you're all bad cooks, you can order out or go to a restaurant that has good food.

Cafe~If you and your friends like coffee, make it coffee-themed, with a coffeehouse atmosphere (small-town style, like a movie where artsy people go to hang out, NOT like Starbucks). You can have trays of foods and drinks from a coffeeshop (you COULD get this from Starbucks, but put them in cool mugs and fancy teapots, if you have them), like one tray with sugar, splenda, cinnamon, half n/ half, cream, and such, another with different blends of coffee (or just one, in different pitchers and teapots), and another with cups and spoons, some with saucers. Read books aloud, play music, get on the computer, or talk. Make sharpie mugs!

Masquerade~Wear masks and fancy dresses, or costumes, and dance and stuff.

Dance~Pay Just Dance games on the Wii, and watch movies and T.V. shows about dancing (Step Up movies, Dance Academy, Dance Moms, Bunheads) and try to replicate the dances in it (Step Up 4, Revolution, has the coolest dances in it, but they're hard). Come dressed in dancing clothes, and put on dancing music for freestyling. Maybe rent some basic technique DVDs to make sure the beginnners don't hurt themselves. Clear out the furniture, and I suggest a wooded floor, but it's fine if you don't have one.

Fashion~Come dressed your best, and you can put together collages of trends and outfits for the season, as if you're working for a fashion company, and show them to someone like a fashion expert, or someone that's into fashion, or at least has studied trends beforehand and can accurately judge them, to act as "the boss", the head of the company. You can have a pretend fashion show, and replicate episdoes of Beauty Boot Camp, like dressing some of the party members up in the clothes given, and see who has come up with the coolest outfit. You can also make sets on polyvore (polyvore.com, the website) , if you don't want to go through the trouble of changing clothes).

Mall/Shopping~Look up Shopping Prank videos by mediocre films and do the same thing at the department stores at the mall. Have a scavenger hunt and split up into teams to look for things on a list and take pictures of them for proof, with things such as luggage on wheels, furniture resembling something in a witch's house, a t-shirt or accessory (anything) that has a dolphin on it, someone dressed in clothing items all of the same color, someone with a mohawk, and things of the sort. The different teams can get money from your dad to put together outfits that you will like, and you can choose the one you like the best and use your dad's money to buy it. That way, it's from your dad, but he doesn't have to worry about whether or not you'll like it.

Sports~If you're really into sports, you and your friends can have relay races, do workout videos, go swimming, or do sporty stuff. I'm not sporty, so I'm not exactly an expert on this one. I just thought I should throw it in.

Mystery~There are a lot of ideas about this online, including specific instructions and ideas. In a nutshell, it's a detective-like party. You can play Clue, or you can take the clues from the game and write them down, and play it in a real-life setup. You can also call and reserve a mystery/ghost/murder mystery train for the party, where they give you roles, feed you dinner, and you have to figure out who committed the crime by asking questions, examining clues, and forming alliances-even backstabbing to solve the mystery. I've never done it, but it's always sounded really fun to me. You can look some up in the phonebook, or online. If you do it yourself, you can give out party favors like little magnifying glasses, and you can wear a plaid jacket to play the part more elaborately.

Deault~ Go bowling, rollerskating, ice skating, to Main Event or Putt-Putt for the arcade parts too, or to the movies. Go somewhere outside your house, maybe somewhere that specializes in parties?

I got tin plates/cups for everyone and we're going to make hobo packets for dinner. I thought of a 'dressup like a camper' game where they would have a sack of random clothes like plaid shirts, fake mustaches, and big old jeans. They would have to get everything in the bag put on and the first one finished would get their picture taken. But what else can I do so the kids have a camping theme activity ?

Answer
there is always duck duck goose. I like the ghost story idea also.

Or you can put different items in brown paper bags number them and close them up tight.

everyone has to feel the item and guess what it is. the one with the most correct answers wins.

Are there females who have survived the harsh wilderness when going hiking or camping?

I mean with only a knife, rations of food, sleeping bag, and maybe a sidearm.

Answer
Sure, I did that regularly in my 20's. I used to go backpacking even in the middle of the winter at temperatures way below zero, often without a tent, just a lightweight tarp. Didn't need a firearm either (have never carried one -- what would you need it for?) I had a number of female friends who were Outward Bound instructors and had gone through rigorous survival training including as much as a week alone in the backcountry with minimal equipment.

There are countless women throughout history who have endured and even enjoyed such challenges. Remember the Donner Party, the pioneer group who was stranded all winter in the Sierra Nevadas back in the 1840's and some of them had to revert to cannibalism to survive? Most of the women survived and most of the men died. The women also managed to keep all of their children alive (and the women refused to eat the dead). Some of the great adventurers and mountaineers have been female, including a woman in her 50's who was the first to climb 22,000' Huascaran, the highest mountain in the Peruvian Andes. There are plenty of books on women adventurers -- too many to list here.

in fact, during the 1950s and 1960s when the US Military and NASA were preparing for the space program, someone had the idea (unusual at that time when women were discriminated against in most workplace environments) to test women as well as men for candidates to be astronauts. Much to the researchers' surprise, the females they tested had more endurance over a range of conditions than the men, especially for the psychological stress of extended isolation. They had one test where they would leave the person in a dark float chamber until they couldn't stand it any more. Some men lasted a few hours, a few made it to a couple of days. All of the women stood it longer than any of the men and one woman was so comfortable with it that she never asked to be let out -- they just ended the experiment after several days so that the researchers could go home for the weekend! Despite the test results, and the fact that women, being smaller and therefore needing less oxygen and food, would have been more practical to use in the early spacecraft, the US decided to limit the first astronauts to males only. It was almost 20 years before women were a regular part of the on-board space program.

Physiologically, women hold up better in severe cold -- though their hands and feet feel cold sooner than men, that is because their bodies have evolved to protect the core (and a baby, if they are pregnant) so they don't lose heat through their extremities they as fast as men do and so are less susceptible to hypothermia and frostbite. Psychologically they are less likely to panic and make poor decisions under difficult circumstances. I've participated in the rescue of several men over the years who lost it in the woods (often the biggest "toughest" guys are the first to break) and had to be sedated or even strapped in a Stokes litter to evacuate them they were so freaked out. I helped in the rescue of women on 3 occasions, but even though all of them were injured they each kept their calm and were able to evacuate under their own power with some help.

I'm not just saying this because I am female myself. I have worked in construction and been a wilderness skills instructor for over 35 years and I have seen first hand how both men and women react to severe conditions. Yes, there are fewer women than men in both construction and in challenging wilderness sports, but the women that are in those fields are just as tough as, and in some cases, tougher than, any of the men.

What is a simple & "free" birthday party to host for our 9 year old son?

Live, Love

Our son is wanting to get together with about six or seven of his closest friends for his "belated" birthday celebration. Our son loves the Wii video game and loves to hang out with his friends. He loves to draw, he's really good at it too! What type of party would you suggest that we have that won't break our wallet? We are on an extremely tight budget due to job pay cuts etc...We want our son to have a great and memorable party. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
I'd say a sleepover is a great idea. If he loves the Wii and his friends do, too, then just let them play the games that he already has. Maybe have a championship game for the top scorers.

For refreshments, most boys like brownies and chocolate chip cookies. You could have a birthday brownies or a birthday cookies.

Make your own sundaes. Vanilla ice cream. Chocolate Syrup, sprinkles, M & M's, nuts, cherries, etc. They will have fun doing this.

Since we're close to Halloween, you could go with a Halloween theme. Rent some scary movies. Maybe buy each boy a pumpkin to carve (or decorate with paint, fabric, etc, if you are more comfortable with that--grocery store is cheaper than a pumpkin farm). Have Halloween themed food (freeze spider rings or gummy worms) in ice trays for spooky ice cubes. Worms (slice hot dogs in long strips and boil in water and they'll curl up and look like worms). Mummy Dogs (hot dog wrapped with breadstick dough and bake and then put eyes on with mustard). Caramel Apples (you can make these ahead of time or let the boys dip them-roll in nuts or decorate with M&M's or candy corn). Drink hot cocoa with a floating eyeball (large marshmallow with Choc Chip inserted in the middle). Cupcakes or brownies decorated with Halloween decorations. Potato Bugs (tater tots inserted onto raw spahetti noodle and bake per directions-use catsup for the eyes. Wal-Mart has gummy eyeballs, worms, and spiders. There's also a severed foot or hand in the candy aisle that's gummy w/ some sort of hard candy in the middle-gross but good for 9 year old boys.

Pizza. Make your own, you can buy the crusts premade, use canned biscuits or make your own crusts and a wide variety of toppings. Or, Pizza Hut has the $5 Pizza Mia (a medium) but you have to buy at least 3 to get them for $5 each. They would be less mess and could be cheaper.

Do you have a yard? If so, a camp out. Pitch some tents, have the boys bring sleeping bags. Build a fire in a fire pit (if you have one). Roast hot dogs and make smores. Play horse shoes or ring toss or both. Hold sack races (you can use old pillow cases-can buy from Salvation Army for cheap). Buy some glow sticks or cheap flashlights for the kids to play with outside to tell ghost stories or play ghosts in the graveyard.

What to wear on a church camping trip with a boy that I like?

CullenGal3

I'm fifteen and I'm going camping with my youth group tomorrow. I want to look cute the whole time, because I like this guy that's coming too. I need to dress modestly, obviously, but still something easy and cute. I need loads of ideas! I'll be gone for a week.

Answer
I'm going to assume you are expecting hot weather.

If you're going swimming, maybe go for a skirtini or tankini rather than a skimpy bikini- it's pretty without being tarty.

For a shopping trip or walk in town, maybe go for leggings and a cute tunic top, or a dress that's just above the knee in a colour that suits you and is not too low cut. A light colour is nice as it looks innocent and sweet.

For hanging round the camp shorts and a quirky t-shirt that reflects your personality is good.

On a cooler day a pair of well fitted jeans and a nice top is always good.

Take a sweet and innocent party dress as there is normally a "disco" night at camps and this is your excuse to dress up and look your best!

If it gets cold and you forget to bring a jumper he might offer to lend you his jacket ;op

If you are going hiking then wear practical gear- guys hate it when a girl dresses in clothes unsuitable for the activity no matter how adorable she looks!

Keep the make-up simple- foundation, a little blusher, a barely there creamy eye-shadow and mascara and a lipgloss is enough.

Remember to take clothes that you feel comfortable in and that make you feel good about yourself. And most important of all, be yourself and feel confident.

Does anybody have any teen party ideas?

Abby Leigh

I'm a girl and I'm gonna be 14 in May. I'm really particular so I don't want any of these ideas cause I've already done them:

Murder Mystery
Spa Sleepover
Luau
Swimming Party
Water Themed Party
Regular Sleepover

So yeah. I live in PA. I could have my party in the summer. It doesn't really matter. I just want ideas. Thanks. =]

Answer
-go to a beach, maybe have a bonfire or a BBQ, swim, play beach volleyball, etc
-take your closest friends, dress up, and go out to a fancy dinner
-get your hair and makeup done, and have a photo shoot
-go shopping and have a mall scavenger hunt with items to get and crazy dares, and give each team a disposable camera to take pics of everything they do
-have an amazing race party
-rent out a hall and have a dance party
-go to an amusement park
- bring a best friend or two and go camping
-have a bowling party
-go ice skating
-go laser tagging, rockclimbing, to a gymnastics place, or to do some kind of an outdoor adventure sport
-if you do some kind of an activity like for example horse back riding, often they will give riding lessons to your friends and let you have a barn sleepover. Or if you dance most dance studios offer birthday parties.

it really depends of how many people, if its boys and girls, and your budget but i hope you have an amazing party :)

I'm planning a 50th birthday party for my husband. I would like to know if someone can recommend?

Keisha G

a store in New Jersey that makes elegant/amazing invitations. My husband is a golf freak.

Answer
Many of the Hallmark and card stores carry invitation books for all occassions. I simply went through a local Hallmark store in Clark, NJ for my wedding invitations.

You might also want to see if there are any scrapbookers who will be willing to make your golf invitations. Check out local Yahoo groups, or your local Craigslist under the WANTED section.

Good luck!

It's his 40th surprise birthday party. I want the invitation to be themed with MMA.

Answer
Send octagon shaped invitations with the number 40 in the middle. Look at the cards the ring girls hold up to signify which round it is for some inspiration.

In the inside spatter some red food coloring (dip a small paintbrush in it and flick it at the paper) after you print the invitation.

Make sure you are wearing a sports bra and boy-shorts to the party (like a ring girl), and you need to blow the guests lots of kisses.

If any of the guests tries to get touchy with you, a rear naked choke is a polite way to say "no" and it doesn't leave marks.

What should I do for my 16th birthday party?

Jvdgbv25

I'm a girl and want to have a good 16th birthday party. I've had good ones before, but I want this one to be really good. Do you have any ideas on what I could do?

I live in the Cincinnati region of Ohio.

Answer
You have many choices, google some ideas I have put two links in source area. One of the website offers video based invitations and cards to send out which is a totally new concept. What you can do is video record your invitation message and choose any invitation design you like from that website and you can add that personal message into any invitations or cards and send to all your friends. This can be really amazing and you will stand out because of this new idea and creativity. They also have RSVP features.

Now for birthday parties, there is another best website where people posts their birthday party ideas and when I say people posts that means hundreds of thousands of ideas :) so I am sure that you will get something from there to celebrate your sweet 16.

How to plan a sweet sixteen?

birthday party invitations ireland image
Q. Well, I've just decided that I want to have a sweet sixteen. I know it's super late because everybody has been telling me I should have started to plan a long time ago. I'll be sixteen in January & I just need some pointers on how to plan this. I don't really want a formal ceremony but I do want it to be semi-formal with also music & dancing. I don't know what my dress code should be so if you guys could help me with that & also everything else I'll need and if possible a price range. Thanks!

Answer
I don't think you've left it too late, it doesn't take that long to plan something like this, weddings have been planned faster. First, recruit some people to help you plan. This could be your Mom, or some of your best friends. Find a venue. You could have it anywhere, it depends on your price range. A hall is probably your best bet, like in a hotel. Find a small, cheap hotel. Most of these places will provide catering, the best thing would probably request 'finger food', where they will just put plates of things like fries and chicken on the tables for people to eat, at least that's how it is in Ireland. Or you could do a buffet style. If you rent like a church or community hall, you'll have to organise your own catering. So you could recruit a bunch of family to cook, or hire someone.

Buy a bunch of decorations, you could get them online. Have your friends or Mom decorate for you, as your not really supposed to do the decorating for your own party yourself. Get a DJ. Ask around and see if anyone has any good recommendations. If not, try and google some Djs in your area, and ring as many as you can for quotes. You can make your own invitations online and send them out, or you could just send a text invitation or make an event on Facebook, since nearly everyone is on facebook these days.

I think you could do it for around $200-$300. It all depends on who you know and can get discounts from, and how many people are willing to help you out. It would only take a couple weeks of planning.

Have a good birthday!

I'm having my 19th birthday party soon, and I'm not sure how to word the invitations. We will be meeting at my house, and then carpooling to go out to eat at a restaurant. My parents will be paying for everyone, so that's not an issue. I just want to make sure that people know we will be leaving so that they try to come on time. Ideas please?
