Hey!
I am planning to throw a surprise birthday party for my sister (who'll be turning 24) this weekend.
Need help on the theme of the party. (To spice up dinner out with friends and make it more exciting!) Any ideas for the invite message? Would love to hear any tossing of ideas!
Thanks!

Answer
So we canât all be party planners, or so you think ⦠but itâs much easier than you think! Mammie has put together a few successful surprise parties, and itâs super easy! Surprise parties are a great way to make your loved ones feel special. Surprise parties arenât always an expensive ordeal either⦠Hereâs your quick guide on âHOW TO THROW A SUCCESSFUL SURPRISE PARTYâ

1. Find yourself an accomplice. The middle person who is going to find out information, and help plan the event.

2. Plan a date- Make sure the special boy/ girl is available on the date. Easiest way to find out - ask your accomplice to see if the special person is free on a specific day⦠Have the accomplice make plans with the special person . For example: When Mammie threw her best friend a surprise birthday party, Mammie had Mammy (accomplice) make plans with her best friend on the day of the party. That way - best friend would never expect anything other than her âplansâ with Mammy (accomplice). You donât want to plan the event too far in advance because the special person may find it suspicious. Ideally try to plan it 2-3 weeks in advance.

3. Pick a venue- Once your accomplice has secured a date- figure out a venue. Easiest way is to have your accomplice plan something where he/she can either take the special person to. For example: Mammy made plans with best friend to hang out during the day and then head home to get ready for dinner. Surprise! happened when they came home. Another example: Have accomplice make dinner plans with special person- and have everyone at that location at least 45 min before. (Saying 45 min will translate to people getting there just on time)

4. Send out the invitations- Best way to send an invitation is via phone. Phone calls will not leak to the special person. However, sometimes we donât always have their phone numbers. If you donât have everyoneâs phone number- get their email. Best electronic way of sending out invitations are through evites. Go to www.evite.com and you can create your own evite. If you arenât close friends with special personâs friends- find a trust worthy person to be a middle person. For example: When Mammie threw a surprise party for her brother, she had his roommate forward all the evites. This way, you donât have to worry about forgetting someone. ***MAKE SURE YOU EMPHASIZE THE *SURPRISE* ASPECT***

5. Follow up- Follow up with the accomplice. Follow up with your guests. A week before your event- send out a follow up email. A few days before your event- get a final count. Make sure the plans are still in effect with accomplice and special person. Confirm reservations or accommodations for event night.

6. Day of event: Set everything up with extra time. When you are planning something like this - you want to make sure you give yourself an extra 45 min-1.5 hours- just in case. If you having the event at your residence, or at a residence, make sure you are completely ready before the guests arrive. If you are having the party at a restaurant - try to arrive early enough for decorations. Most restaurants will allow large parties to sit when 1/2 the party is present so make sure you get some people there on time.

7. Right before the accomplice and special person arrive: make sure everyone is in their place. Last thing you want is a straggler to be wandering, or making excessive noise that will ruin the surprise. Have the accomplice text, or call you right before they arrive. That way you can make sure you have people in place.

8. SURPRISE!!!!! Try to have someone there to capture the moment.

*Keep in mind* A surprise party is an event to remember. Make sure you have a camera to capture all the moments. Try to decorate the venue so that your special person will have no doubt in their mind that this was a planned event. Get a blank scrapbook, color pens, and have your guests write a little message while they wait for the big surprise.

The above 8 steps should be able to aid you in planning a surprise party. The key is to have enough time to plan, set up and execute your party. A surprise party is such a heart warming experience. Go the extra mile and get people together and share a special night with those you love. Good luck!

A lot of my family members didn't come to my birthday party?

Q. I just celebrated my 21st and invited all of my extended family to a dinner to celebrate and more than half didn't come or call or mail me a card or anything. They all have my address off of the invitation so what should I do? Should I not ever go to their parties or what?

Answer
My daughter and I were just talking about this yesterday, she has 5 cousins, all older than she is, in one family and they did not come to her 18th birthday because they had to go to the youngest one's basketball game. She still talks about it at age 21. We have not invited them to anything at our house since. I have been to my great niece's birthday party when invited because I don't intend to lower myself to their standards.
You can deal with it just about any way you can live with. I only see my brother's family once a year if that often. As you get older a lot of people tend to lose a constant connection with their extended family because of lifestyles that have changed and people get other priorities in their lives.
Be happy that anyone showed up and know that those are the ones that put you in top priority, treat them accordingly.

Birthday invitation missed to reserved?

zapaas

My 5 year old son is invited to attend a birthday party. The reservation is due the 18 of march and the actual birthday will be on the 2nd of April. My son is very excited and he could not wait to attend the event. But we forgot to make the RSVP. I felt very guilty about this. I was wondering if it's appropriate or inappropriate to a RSVP to the parents of the child (the classmate)? . Is it too late? if not, what will be a good reason?

Answer
Give the parent a call to apologize for the miss out and your intention to attend.
I believe an extra family should not be a problem, but don't forget the birthday present please.

We're having a camp party and need some things to do? We don't want anything out-doorsy like "identify the leaf" because we're camping right outside my house, we don't have a pool and we're on a budget, have any ideas?

Answer
You could play things like 'Ghost' or something old and classic like 'Simon Says'. If you don't know the first idea it would probably take too long to explain it. But it's fun (and a little scary) as all get up.You could play 'Make Me Laugh', uhh.......or this great game called 'Identify the Leaf' (I'm just teasing). I don't know. You girls could make up something. Make up your own game with it's own rules and everything. Yeah, I like how that sounds. That should not only be interesting (I wish I could see how hilarious that would be) but fun as well. Have fun!!!

Answer
Hollywood party
Hawain Luau party
Mall scavenger hunt party
picture scavenger hunt party
Holly wood party/red carpet party
Send the invitations out on star shaped black card stock with gold glitter decorating it. Be sure to tell everyone to dress up formal. For decorations have a red carpet, streamers, and gold and silver helium balloons. Get some people to be the "paparazzi" to take pictures and ask for autographs. Have finger food for dinner and a star shaped cake for dessert.
Hawain Luau- Make invintations out of beach balls then deflate and hand them out, as a message in a bottle, or a plane ticket to hawaii Have everyone dress up hawain. Lei's (thouse flower necklaces), bathing suites with grass skirts etc.
Have pina coladas and tropical fruit (mango, pinapple etc.), hawwain pizza
decorate with fish nets, shells, and paper fish.
your party favor can be sunglasses, lei, sunscreen, and some cheap dollar store towels

for the mall scavenger hunt have eeveryone get into partners. Give each pair a list with all the stores they have to find. each pair then has to go anound the mall and get something to represent each store (bag, tag, picture, flyer etc.)

for the photo scavenger hunt divide into two teams. Each team will need a digital camra. Give each team a list of things they need to take a picture of (the whole team making a pyramid, at a certain store, everyone's shoes, etc.)

Or you could have a pool party, go bolwing, BBQ

College Graduation Facebook Invitation Etiquette - How do we decline and is a gift necessary?

Leah

My Aunt has invited us to another gathering for another one of her kids hoping for money or gifts, yet again. (She has 5 kids, 4 are adults and one has married and moved out.) This gathering happens to be for my cousin who is only a couple years younger than me. She graduated with a psychology degree from an online school and so her mom is throwing her a graduation party. The invites were through a Facebook invitation event but it's a super huge deal and everyone she knows is invited. I was under the impression that the huge graduation open houses ended after high school and that the college graduation celebrations were more immediate or supportive family and close friends.

Even though they are adults, my aunt throws each offspring birthday parties, graduation parties and other stuff. Even though we are all around the same age, my brother and I are considered separate units because we have both married and have both moved out from the parental units. So their unit of 6 send out Christmas cards and gifts together while my family has to send out 3 different sets for each person for each function because we have technically moved out and are our own families. Also, the kids are very ungrateful. In the past each kid has gotten a gift for these random parties and the Mom is the one to thank us. And when we showed up to this particular cousin's 21st birthday she ignored us and was rude to the people who she did talk to.

So putting aside their tackiness and rude behavior, what is the proper etiquette for all of us to decline this invite? Can my parents, my family and my brother's family go together with one "Congratulations" card even though we don't live together? Again, we're all around the same age as the cousins. Should money be put in it from all of us, even though they have a couple parties a year expecting money while we keep our graduations and birthdays within our immediate family?

Or do each of our family units send a "Congrats" card? And do we each put in money/gift yet again?

OR can we just decline the Facebook event with an apology, no cards, and no money sent?

Telling them to "shove it" sounds justified but I'm hoping for something closer to proper etiquette. Thanks!

Answer
This does all sound a bit much.

I take it your family are all of the same mind about this -- i.e. none of you particularly wants to go to this thing, let alone shell out yet more money; you're all a bit fed up of the constant gatherings, etc?

I see no reason whatsoever for money or other gifts to be given for a graduation for someone over the age of 21, particularly for some qualification gained from an online school. Perhaps I'm doing your cousin an injustice -- is it a proper Bachelor of Sciences degree?

I think it would be fine for just a card to be sent. I suppose she should really get 3 cards from each "unit", unless your parents wrote one on behalf of the whole family. You do need to reply to the invitation to the gathering, but a polite note on the card(s) regretting you will all be unable to be present would be okay.

I need ideas for a wedding shower and bachelorette party?

batmancrtn

I am the maid of honor in my best friends wedding. I am throwing the wedding shower and bachelorette party. Ive been reading ideas online for both but everything requires lots of money. Im on a TINY budget and was wondering if anyone had free or cheap ideas of things to do.

Answer
A shower is fairly inexpensive depending on how many people you invite. Let's say you invite 20 people. Invites will run you about $30-$40. Then food. You can go as cheap as you want for that. I'd say punch, a cake, and a few sandwiches/puff pastries will run you about $50. You should have a co-host split it with you as I imagine you aren't having it at your own house. Then that would be about $50 each.

If that's too much, do some things yourself. Instead of buying a couple flower arrangements for the table, pick your own. Instead of buying frozen quiches or puff pastries at a warehouse club, make sandwiches yourself. Make chicken salad croissants and cucumber sandwiches. Then you could cut the cost in about half.

For a bachelorette party, how many girls are you inviting? It's not just the wedding party that's invited. I'd say the average number is between 7 and 15 girls. Ask them what their budget is. For $20 a person you can do a fair amount.

My bachelorette party we went to dinner at a restaurant that was doing buy one get one free appetizers. We all passed them around the table and it ended up being $8 a person for 2 appetizers each (though I don't think we actually ordered that much). Then we went to a few bars with ladies get in free. Then after about 1 drink, people started buying the bachelorette party drinks. Including buying my drinks, I think that ended up being about $15 per person over 3 bars. So my total was about $25 per person.

There are so many things you can do--it depends on the girls. For an older friend of mine, they hired a chef for about $300. They spent $200 on wine. That was only $25 per person since they had 20 people.

For another friend who had known her bridesmaids since they were 5, they had a sleepover like the old days. A lot of old 80s movies, popcorn and margaritas all night. That was something like $30 total as they got the bucket of margaritas from bed bath and beyond and popcorn is super cheap. Someone put the movies on their netflix.

My groom went camping for his bachelor party. A campsite is about $20-$30. Between beer, food, wood for the fire, gas to get there and other stuff I think everyone put in $30. They rented 2 campsites and between the whole group, tents and sleeping bags were covered. However I've been to campsites that already had tents set up for you.

You could tour wineries. When we were out in California we rented an 8 passenger limo. It was about $40 per person. Many wineries are free and the ones that aren't have roughly a $5 tasting fee. You could easily just do free ones though. Oregon, Virginia, NC--all have a ton of wineries.

One thing I've heard of some people doing is going to an amusement park. That ends up being close to $60 per person though once you have parking and food thrown in but there are lots of outdoorsy things you can do. Minor league baseball games come to mind. You could go to the beach for a day trip. A cooler filled with ice and drinks for the day, and stopping for a meal on the way down and back would be all. Probably close to $30 per person.

Some couples do a backyard bbq type of thing and just grill out burgers at the pool. Yes some girls go to the spa for the day or do some luxury trip to NYC and spend several hundred but I don't know any of them. Most people get married in their mid20s and most of their friends are poor.

but dont want to spend $150 on cards alone! is there any place or anything online that is reasonably priced for invitations- Thanks!

Where can I order custom party supplies for a birthday?

eBay and online sites would be your best bet.

Since they don't have party hats or plates yet, buy plain ones like bright blue, then on the hats put the Phineas and Ferb stickers on the hats http://cgi.ebay.com/30-Large-Phineas-and-Ferb-Stickers-Party-Favors-/400100656251?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d27db847b

Answer
Happy Birthday a little early - October could be a good time for a outdoor bonfire party. Or maybe a big camp out in your backyard :) Check out these awesome camping glow-in-the-dark T-shirts at www.imagnTEE.com, they would be a great "party gift" and would be a lot of fun to see everyone glow at night! And yes you can get long sleeves, since it could be a little chilly out.

Looking for some food ideas for a first birthday party...?

Ginna

I'm doing a garden theme at a community center. I wanted to do something for the kids attending with their meal in a mini picnic basket. So I'm thinking PB&J cut into flowers and butterflies wrapped in wax paper.

For the adults I thought chicken and egg salad finger sandwiches, or maybe turkey club, and a soup.

I have a delicious chicken wing soup to make but I'm boy sure its good for everyone's palette.

Any other ideas?
I do know of nut allergies and will have sunbutter also as I know that is what those children substitute.

There's also ciliacs disease. So gluten free suggestions are appreciated too.

Answer
I'm planning a first birthday party too! Since our baby is only 1, the party is really for the guests, some of whom will be adults and some with be smaller children. I was thinking of doing a cupcake theme and having the kids make, bake, and then decorate their own cupcakes. I was thinking that it would be neat to take all the cupcakes that the kids made and place them together to form a number 1 - this will serve as the birthday cake for the baby. Then the kids can eat the cupcake that they just made. Add in some cookies, chips, fruits, and punch, and food for the kids is pretty much taken care of. I'm going to carry the cupcake theme to the invites and mail out one of these cupcake invitations: http://www.babycachet.com/Birthday_Invitations_with_Cupcakes_s/306.htm

For the adults, I was thinking of some thing unusual for food - maybe a platter of sushi - and some safer options like small sandwiches or pizza.

I need themes, or anything, any fun games to do at a party, invitations, food, etc, she is NOT a girly girl. She is not a tomboy either, like in between. I need help, her birthday is in January.
thanks, and I do have a WII! :)

Answer
Depending on where you live (or rather, if it is cold enough where you live)...

- Skating (Maybe you could do outdoor skating at night, then come back to your place for pizza, and maybe a movie and a sleepover?)

- Same thing as above except for tobogganing instead of skating.

And then, there are always the classics...

- Movie theater, then a sleepover.

- At home spa (but since you have mentioned that she is not that much of a girly girl, this might not be the greatest.)

- Rock climbing (this is great, especially if she's athletic. Lots of my friends have done this)

I remember when I was younger, my mom would take us to random fun places for my birthday parties. I think when I was 10, we went to an indoor roller skating park. When I was 11, we went to a trampolining place where they taught us how to do tricks and flips on the trampolines (this was probably my most fun birthday party ever! I would definitely recommend it.)
Also, when my friend was turning 11, we went to this place where you paint your own ceramic cups, places, bowls, etc., and then they put them in the oven for you and you get to take them home. That was fun.

As for food, it kind of depends on the number of kids that there are going to be. If you're going to be feeding a crowd, like 10+ kids, then I would recommend something simple like pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc., or else it can get kind of expensive (if you go to a restaurant), or time consuming (if you're going to cook yourself).

However, if you are going to be having only a few kids, then you could splurge a little bit and take them out to a restaurant, since it won't be as expensive. I would recommend Montana's, Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet, pretty much any of those family restaurants.

Also, if you're going to have a sleepover (which I would highly recommend, 11 year old girls love them, regardless of weather or not the are girly girls), make sure you have tons of snacks. I would recommend chips, cookies, pop, pretty much whatever she wants. Don't worry about all the sugar, afterall, this only happens once a year :)

Games... hmmmm. Pinyata, musical chairs, board games.

For invitations, my mom used to always make them on the computer using some simple graphic design program. It's not that difficult at all. Just include the basic information, and put some pretty pictures.

Sweet 16 Birthday Party/Party Planning question?

un poco lo

My best friend and I were born within the same month and we decided that it would be easiest if we had our sweet 16s this summer together. We decided it would be at her house because she has a deck, patio, decent sized yard and a trampoline. So my question(s) are how would you go about planning a party like this? We'll probably invite around 100 people. How should we budget since things will be a split cost and we won't have to pay for a place to have it in? Any other advice or experience planning big parties? Thanks so much!

Answer
Well you say 100, but may end of being less. Send out "save the date" invitations, then have the rsvp about 3-4 weeks before the party date. This way you will have a better head count on the people attending. Are you having this catered? Or are you having a barbecued? Catered, you don't have to do a thing! You cook, you have to cook, clean up, and mostly likely wait on your guests, so you really don't have much time to enjoy yourself. I would call a caterer and ask if they do picnic packages, shouldn't be that expensive. $10-15 per person

How to split a birthday party with a friend?

birthday party invitations no presents
on Party: Birthday Images | Birthday Images Free | Birthday Images Gifts ...
birthday party invitations no presents image

Califo

So, me and my best friend have a birthday one week apart from each other so we were thinking about having both of our birthday parties at the same place and same time and our parents could split the cost. The problem is, i dont think our friends would bring two presents for us for one party?? What should i do?

Answer
First, I'm gonna breakdown the other two answers and tell you [what i like and don't like] (<--my thoughts will be in brackets [ ] )
---
"Is all you really care about the gifts friends will bring? [srsly, bro? criticizing up a storm, are we?]Your birthdays are only a week apart, so if they can only bring one gift to your shared party, then chances are only one of you will get a gift prior to the party/at seperate parties. [I don't think it's a matter of IF they can only bring one...someone missed the boat, by a lot] If the presents are really what matters - tell your friends that you 2 prefer they bring gift cards or money so that the 2 of you are able to share everything equally. [not a bad idea. Hell, just tell 'em to bring cash. I <3 cash] I would think that the shared experience of a birthday would be enough though. [meh...i rely on my b-day & xmas to keep my bank account healthy] It's peoples PRESENCE not the presents that make it the most memorable. [I just love cliches...this is sarcasm btw)

Have the party together [yes, do!], forget about the 2 gift part from friends [srsly?].. That just leads to jealousy. Anyways, your parents are saving cash and will prob put more of the cash towards gifts for you vs them spending all the money on one party). [don't be so sure.]

Happy Birthday a bit early, and have a good year."

[Indeed, Happy early Birthday!]
-----------
Ask them to donate some money to charity [*chokes, falls oput of chair, dies] instead of bringing 2 gifts for you. it's a chance to do a great thing. [idk about you, but i'm kinda sick of helping people <.<]
-------------------------
I'm not so sure I agree with you, TJ. I think people might bring 2 presents. If your invitation says...

You're invited to
[you] and [other person]'s joint party @ [place] at [time]

...then how could they only bring one present? they'd have to choose who to bring a present for, which they (hopefully) won't do xD
If I were in their shoes, I'd bring 2. 2 people, 2 presents. Or just a sh*t-load of $$$ :)

Here's what I'd do if I was you, hun...I'd buy myself something special from Tiffany's...then again, you're probably not having a significant bday, so maybe you should wait until your Sweet 16

By the way, if you're bday is mid- to late-june, you should totally invite me...i might be in Cali then. But just as a warning, i'd probably only bring 1 present xD

What is a creative way to say "no gifts please" on an invitation?

Rachel

We're planning a surprise birthday party for my father. It's going to be a casual event. We know that he would not want gifts, just the presence of his family and friends. I've been put in charge of invitations and need to come up with some way of saying this besides "No presents, just your presence," as my mother doesn't like that. I'm not the one who decided no gifts, I'm simply in charge of figuring this out. Any suggestions?

Answer
Just say "It's only necessary to bring yourself & your good cheer"! Or maybe, " Your presence & your good cheer is all you need to bring, please join us in making the day special for ------------, thank you!"

How would you let people know a birthday party is in the works, but not make your actual invitation yet?

I want to send a "basic headsup" party invitation to everyone letting them know there will be a party in November. But, mainly asking them to send any kind of picture they have of my husband to me to prepare for a video. But I dont want to send the ACTUAL invitation yet. How would you do it? What would you say?

Answer
Use email or, if you need to, a letter. Say something like, "Hi. Hope your summer is off to a good start! ... I am doing some planning ahead for a birthday party for <insert name here> in November. I want to do a video montage thing, so if you could send me a photo you have of <name>, I'd really appreciate it. If you mail me a photo, put your name on the back somewhere and I'll make sure to get it back to you. If you can email it to me, that's awesome too of course. I want you to know that I really appreciate your help in putting this together and I think the party will be fun. I need the photos by <insert date here> so that I'll have time to get the video put together (or to work with the videographer to get the video put together). I haven't decided when in November to schedule the party, but you are on my list to invite when I get the date and other details irone out. Again, I greatly appreciate it if you have photos of <name> to share and I'll follow up with an invitation you when I get things planned. Sincerely, <your name>"
You can change up wording of course - this is just the friendly request for photos for the video you are planning and a 'heads up' on the upcoming party. If you do know the date, then you can note it in the email or letter as a 'save the date' and note that you'll be sending out formal invitations ahead of the party.
Have fun!

wonkydonke

Iam making party invitations for my daughters birthday , and the theme is Charlie and lola. iam trying to get the font and style of the writing, I think ive got the font, but i am trying to get the text to do a sort of loop the loop instead of just writing in s straight line .Anyone know of how to do this, or where to find a good swirly line generator ? Thanks so much

Answer
Photoshop and some of the better free graphics editor with the right plug-ins will allow you to set up writing text on a curve. Best to read the tutorials first.

I am throwing a 1st birthday party for my son. He loves balls and balloons so I was thinking about using these two things as party themes. Does anyone have game, party favor, etc. ideas that fall under these two themes?

Answer
blow up balloons but dont tie off w/ solf felt marker write the invitation on then deflate put in envelope or paper cd covers write blow me up. so they read the invite off balloon.
w/ double stick tape attach crepe paper to circles to balloons, using diffrent sized punches from craft or scapbook store or use coins as out lines or make to make them look like sportsballs like (strips down middle to be basket ball, rectangles to look like soccer ball)
make your own bubbles;2/3 cup dish soap gallon water&2-3 tablespoons glycerin& have backyard contest.farthest &fastest flyer, longest lasting, biggest. everyone make a wish and tie it to a balloon or write a message and tie it to a balloon(heilium)a let go.
instead of cake use doughnut holes in tower w/ skewers<piped icing to secure and add dots either w/ or also dot sprinkles(krispy kreme make the best choc.cake iced one &cheaper in bulk) melon balls, meat balls,o nooles pasts salad, slamers w/ round bun/bread.
party favors their own bubbles w/ balloon and a name tag, made of paper cut in circle(cookie cutter or soup can traced)tied to it.decorate w/ paper lanterns and make balloon steamers in stead of or w/crepe
you can buy ballons and balls an miniture bubbles cheap @ orientaltrading.com,

Valere H

my bday is in the begeening of april and i am turning 12. I want to have a really cool/fun mixed gender birthday party. what themes, or what should i do 4 it? plz reply soon!

So my birthday is on October 19th and im planning on having a party. i want really cool invitations though, something crazy . I want invitations like they have on my super sweet sixteen on MTV. So if any of you have any ideas please write them. BEST ONE GETS THE MOST POINTS POSSIBLE,!

Answer
i'm planning my sweet sixteen party too.
me and my best friend are having ours together because our birthdays are 2 weeks apart.
i'm a girl and he's a guy, so it has to be like, not girly but not stupid boyish.. haha

so we decided our invitations should look like fake concert tickets, and have all this stuff typed on there that concert tickets would say but have our party info on it.
if you go on google and type in concert ticket generator, a bunch will pop up!
hope this helped!
have an amazing birthday!

Well theres this hawwwt sophomore that i have never talked to, but i know through mutual friends that he is a good cool guy. I kinda have a crush on him. :) Anyways i want to invite him to my birthday party soon!! So how do I invite him to my party without seeming like a creeper or desperate? All answers appreciated. :)

Answer
Just send him an invitation card or just call her and ask him to come to your birthday party !!
but what makes my answer the BEST is another advice !!!
my advice is that if you dont want that , this guy or others notice you have a crush on him , Invite some others guys close to him ! that you are not in near contact
i mean ! invite as many guys as you can ! even unknown guys who are your friend's friends !!!
then ! nobody will think its creepy !!!
because you have invited everybody ! and also the one you are looking for is among them !!!
well , your birthday will be more fun too !!!
Greetings from IRAN !!

Does anyone know where I can order cheap but really nice housewarming invations?

E-Izzle

I found the website invitingsmiles.com and i really like the designs they offer but its a little tricky to set the templates to use as a housewarming invitation as opposed to a birth announcement or birthday party. Does anyone know any other websites where i can order HOUSEWARMING party invitations that are of similar styles and/or customizeable. If not, does anyone know of any stores that I can go to to have some customized and made?? thanks!

Answer
I have done this before and this might work for you,

did you try going to your local print shop or sign shop?

It maybe a little bit more, but tell them your budget and they can work with you.

Also maybe try Party City and maybe they have something there for you.

Hobby Lobby should also have them.

Try Yahoo Greetings, Blue Mountain.com

What are some fun games to play on a campout?

bluetigerp

Are there any good outside games for 4 people? Preferably at night?

We're having a birthday party at a camping place, and we need some game ideas.

Thanks for your help!

Answer
I'm sure you'll have tons of fun just sitting around roasting marshmallows and hot dogs and everything, but here are some suggestions:

-['Caughta Peekin] "Everyone stands in a circle, and everyone puts their heads down. You count to 3, and on 3 everyone looks up and picks one person to stare at. If two people are staring at each other then they yell and jump back out of the circle. You keep going until you only have 2-4 people left."

-['Crambo'] "One player begins the game by saying, "I am thinking of something in the room that rhymes with 'fair'" the others then ask questions to figure out what it might be. The one that guesses it correctly goes next. Expand the boundaries as needed."

-['Who is it'] "Have all the kids stand up. You secretly think of one. The kids then ask any Yes or No questions, for instance, "Is it a boy?" If the answer is "No", all in that category (for instance, all boys) sit down. All the kids can ask questions, even if they're sitting down. Go until the kids have figured out who you have secretly picked."

Those three were taken from this website: http://www.ultimatecampresource.com/site/camp-activities/quick-and-easy-games.page-1.html

A suggestion from me:

The first person starts the story with one word. The next person says another word, the next with another, and you continue and find out what ridiculous stories come out ;)
