You can still use the card-making software for invitations. Just use it to make an invitation...

On the cover put something like:
It's a Party!

And on the inside put the date, time, place, and anything else.

Casual dress, serve junk food, like crisps and cakes, pizza, cold meats perhaps, the foods everyone likes no matter how healthy it's a party. As for the invites hmm... perhaps go on the internet and find some invite templates, in fact I'll do that:

Creative Pajama Party Invitation Saying?

Katie Wils

What's a creative saying for a 16th birthday pajama party invitation?

Answer
Make the invitation to look like a pillow (if you're handing them out...put some stuffing inside-piece of foam would work-- after you've sewn up 3 sides of it..or use glue)....have it be zebra print. Then leave a wide hem at the end, put a skinny bright color trim between zebra print and white hem... then write on the hem>>>> "Let's Catch Some ZZZZZ's!"

On the inside of the pillowcase, include a card with party details.

Im having a black and white birthday party and i need help !!!?

natt

invitations?
food?
deccorations ? ( at my house )
center pieces ?
gifts to give to each guest ?

Answer
You should wear something really colourful, like red or pink, just to show that it's your party and it's all about you. :D

Invitations: A DVD that they have to watch in order to find out all the details.

Food: I don't know if you're planning on having an actual meal, or just finger-foods; Oreo's, strawberries dipped in dark chocolate on one side and white chocolate on the other, white and blue corn chips, black licorice, marshmallows dipped in dark chocolate, coke, you can make a white punch by looking it up on Google.

Decorations: just regular black and white things (cups, plates, tablecloths)

Center pieces: black and white balloons with black and white glitter everywhere.
(Black and white is a big thing for graduation parties, so maybe you can steal some stuff from that.)

Things that are black and white: Zebras, Dalmations, Checkered, Hearses, Snow, Clouds, Piano keys.

Gifts: I don't know how much you're planning on spending but like, take a Polaroid with each guest and give that to them. Or, you could give them a little piano knick-knack with their name engraved on it.

Hope I helped! :P

BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS??

Q. i am about to turn 14 this month and i have no clue what to do! i think the whole sleepover thing is okay, but my twin sister wants to do a paintball game and invite 18 people. i can do almost anything under $400 and i could go out of the house sense i live on 15 acres! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have this huge field about like 1/4 mile from my house, i wlk there all the time. . . anything i culd do? it has to b for girls tho, nothing for guys! bleh

Answer
Camp outside after you have the paint ball fight ( always a joy ) Make the girls wear all white so they can keep the shirts after. ( if you live in a cold place this next idea won't be a good idea ) Hose off in the backyard in bikinis and have a mud fight! Always a fun thing, sneak out after hours to hit houses.

Ideas for birthday party?

Q. Like i want to do something interesting (ex: campout, but it would be to cold!)
I am turning 13 and i am having it in my house and i want to do something fun and we can't swim . Like kind of like a theme but not like hannah montana theme! like a fun theme (campout)
i am inviting 8 people by the way

Answer
I like the indoor camp out idea...even if you don't have a tent, sleeping bags work. Lots of lighted candles in safe places grouped together create the fire effect.

A rectangle cake made to look like a camp out: green frosting, crumbled oreos for "dirt"...set up a fire using skinny pretzel sticks in center in tepee effect with a crumbled gold foil piece of paper inside it (from a candy bar). Then around the fire make sleeping bags by drawing them on with icing and using candy Necco rounds for the faces. Gel icing for faces and hair/licorice, etc. Make sleeping bag icing different color to go on top of grass so you can see it. (icing makes the zippers).

Give everyone mini flashlights...play a treasure hunt game indoors using the lights.
Tell scary stories...watch a movie
Make mini pizzas
Play a candy game: Have several different candy bars and have guests try to guess what they are by sniffing them (blindfold them)...whoever has the most right answers wins.
Play "NO Not Me, Never" using candy pieces (game online for instructions)
Get a Magic Ball and tell fortunes
Have a chocolate fondue set up..dip marshmallows, pretzels, fruit in it

Play a game where guests have to go around the area they're allowed and find things for each letter of your name and write it down so others don't see...first one done wins.

I would do a plain white invitation with a funny quotation on the front bold black ink.

- John P. Grier

"Age is a high price to pay for maturity."
- Tom Stoppard

"Growing old is like being increasingly penalized
for a crime you have not committed."

"Looking fifty is great--if you're sixty."
- Joan Rivers

"At age 50, everyone has the face he deserves."

I need some advise...50th Birtday party?

Fernando M

I need some suggestions for a 50th birthday party for my Mom and Aunt (Twins), I already have the Hall and Limo reserved. I'm expecting no more than 100 people. What I need help with is a Theme, I Don't really want "over this hill", I want this to be a celebration. I also need some menu ideas. Both my Mom and Aunt enjoy Italian food, any Ideas? I'm currently putting together a slide show about their past 50yrs. Like I said Menu and Theme are my primary concerns.

Thank you.

Answer
Try doing something like a 50's themed party
Print new record labels containing the party particulars and place them on old 45s or fake records. Name the "record company" after your guest of honor or party hosts. These are invitations that are bound to go platinum.

· Use a fabric paint pen to write the invitation on a bobby sock or stuff the paper invitation into a sock.

· Use photo postcards of Elvis, James Dean, or Marilyn Monroe as your invitation stock.

· Write your invitation on the back of a '50s party cardboard cutout.

· Encourage all your cool cats to come dressed in '50s finery.

'50s Happy Days Theme Decorations:

· Set up a soda shop or dinner setting with small cafe tables (available at most rental stores).

· Hang real or inflatable music instruments around the site.

· Find old saddle shoes or sneakers (not modern-looking athletic shoes). You can even use white nurse's shoes and turn them into saddle-looking shoes with brown paint or by gluing pieces of brown felt onto the shoe. Hang from the ceiling.

· To use sneakers, saddle shoes or any boot -style roller skate as a retro centerpiece, slip a water tumbler into a bobby sock, then fill the glass with straws and slip the sock into the shoe or skate.

· Use James Dean, Elvis, Marlon Brando and Marilyn Monroe life-size stand-ups, movie posters, and movie stills to adorn the walls next to posters of hot rods and oldies album covers.

· Contact a local classic car club about displaying or renting one or more of their hot rods for your party site. You can also contact a local motorcycle club to see about displaying or renting "hogs" to rev up your party site.

· If your budget allows, rent an old-fashioned jukebox. If not, use inflatable or cardboard versions for atmosphere.

· Hang rock and roll themed signs, posters and cutouts that will turn any room into a soda shop.

· Dig through your family attic, yard sales, thrift stores or flea markets to find a bunch of golden oldies .45s, LPs or old album covers to use to decorate your dancing den.

· The quickest way to give any room a '50s feeling is to use rolls of patterned paper with a record, soda shop or typical checkerboard design or vinyl "sugar shack" or sock hop cutouts. Or add a rock and roll or fabulous fifties border. Best of all, by using sticky tack you can put up any of these designs without ruining your walls!

· Light up your night with music note novelty lights.

· Just in case your guests don't come dressed or if you don't want to make it a total costume party, have a couple of accessories on hand to help your guests become part of your décor. Choose items such as music note or black felt fedoras and Blues Brothers, Elvis or retro sunglasses. Or, buy in bulk and outfit the crowd with a complete rock and roll accessory kit.

Activities - '50s Fun:

· Get everyone up to do the stroll, mashed potatoes Lindy, jive and other classic '50s party dances.

· Resurrect your old turntable to spin the '50s top tunes. If you don't have a turntable, you can still find some classic oldies CDs.

· Spin the Chubby Checker classic and have a Twist contest.

· "Rate the Record" just like they did on American Bandstand. "I give it a 90. It had a good beat!"

· See who can keep a hula-hoop moving the longest or spin the most hula-hoops at once.

· Hold a "Spotlight Dance." You can accomplish this with a large flashlight, disco or utility light.

· Rent or buy classic movies and TV shows from that era or films set in that period such as "Grease." You can find many classic sitcoms such as "Happy Days," "Father Knows Best," and "Laverne and Shirley" on the Nickelodeon channel and other cable stations.

· Have an acapella "doo-wop" contest.

· Put up a candy-filled, guitar piñata and let blind-folded guests take a crack at giving it a whack.

· See who can do the best yo-yo tricks or keep it spinning the longest.

Soda Shop Staples and '50s Foods:

· Black and white check or black, white and pink are perfect table toppers. If you choose to use a solid cloth, use black and white checked paper products as accents.

· Soda shop staples included ice cream sodas, sundaes, malteds, milkshakes, pizza, burgers and fries. For added fun, you can serve hamburgers on reusable, plastic burger-design plates or pizza on pizza-shaped plates.

· Serve your guests TV dinners on snack trays, especially if your main entertainment revolves around watching '50s videos or movies.

· Here's another use for your old LPs. Cover with clear plastic wrap and use to serve hors d'oeuvres.

· Old LPs can also make a charming dinner plate charger for sit-down celebrations.

· Contact your Coca-Cola distributor to purchase classic Coke-filled glass bottles and serve with two straws. Many markets still sell those classic-shaped bottles along with their other soda selections.

· Dress like a soda jerk or carhop (including the roller skates) to serve your guests.

· Decorate a round cake with dyed-black icing to resemble a record and include the guest of honor's name on the "label." Or, just slip a disc whose label has been customized to the guest of honor on top of the cake. If you have a favorite record, many bakeries can duplicate it into an edible design that can be put on top of your cake.

· Use rock and roll bandanas as napkins and Slinky-style rainbow coils as napkin rings.

Click Here for all '50s party favors.

'50s Favors and Prizes:

· The party "rock and rolls" on for guests who take home a CD or tape of '50s classic hits ( You can burn or record these yourself.)

· Guys love playing "air guitars," so give them an inflatable version so they can rock around the clock.

· Show them you think they're a "good skate" with a glowing skate necklace.

· "Pin" them with a flashing LED guitar pin.

· Treat them like a rock star with a LED guitar necklace, Blues Brothers or retro sunglasses or a rock and roll bandana.
Top off the celebration with music note fedoras or der
Snap a souvenir photo of your rockers and present it in a '50s theme frame.

Birthday invitations?

Angel4fire

I'm making my own and i just need ideas for whay they should say its my sweet 16 birthday party and like I need any ideas to start it off

Answer
What about these-
Think of a B-day theme and then think of invitation themes like-
*Beach theme* Put each invitation into a see through beach ball and have your friends pop the beach ball to get the invite.
*Movie theme* Make a invite look like a movie theme or put it in a old DVD/ Video case.
*Fashion theme* Give your friends a wallet or small and inexpensive accessory with the invite inside it. Maybe a cute, inexpensive tote.
Or you could just go with a hand crafted one. Old fashion. Plus, It's not the invite that counts, it's that YOUR 16! You halfway through the most torturous years of your life. HIGH SCHOOL!!!!

My daughter is turning 3 and we are planning to have her party at our community pool. The them is Bees or Bumble Bees. Any ideas for a rhyming invitation? Her name is Katrin Laurel. I was thinking something like.

Make like a Bee
Katrin Laurel is turning Three

Okay that really sucks!

Answer
Hello,

Here's an idea:

Come and join Katrin Laurel for a 'buzzing' party,
All you busy bees 'swarm' to the community pool,
At _____(time) o clock for a 'sweet' gathering,
It's going to be so cool!

Katrin Laurel is turning three,
So don't be late for her bash,
You can swim in the pool and have so much fun,
This party will be such a splash!

We hope you can come,
Because 'honey' it will be great,
We hope to see you there,
And please don't be late!

Hope this is alright! You can tweak it as much as you want.

Hope this helps and have a great party!

Camping birthday party ideas?

Nicole

I'm turning 14 and I am having a party with just my family. We're going to make s'mors, and camp out in the back yard with my neices and nephews. What are some other good ideas to fit the theme? I want it to be really fun and kid friendly! What are some good food ideas? Tin foil dinners? Thanks in advance!!

Answer
Adorable!

Your theme should be "only family" ... put up pictures of your family, put out journals and family keep-sakes.

That is your theme ...

Themes are usually for parties and events that don't have a natural one. For example, if you rented out a party hall, you would probably pick a theme because otherwise you just have people randomly standing around drinking orange soda, and eating corn chips.

Teens camping party Ideas?

Q. I live In Melborne florida, and im thinking about having a camping party in December. (I know it's realy early.) but I was wondering if there are campsites in Florida and Georgia(maybe) and for the invataions I was thinking a cheap shirt I will tydey it and with fabric paint I will put there names and send the invatation. I want to know what to do, there will be 6 of us two are my lil bro and his friend there 11 and the youngest will be 8. what can I do to make this fun? (we will make a fire and s'morse.) everyone is outdoorsy and Is there anywere with a lake or sring so well go swiming? and nothingg to expensive. Im doing this beacuse there my super best friends and I never see them een though we live 1 hour away but still

Answer
Well, first of all, make sure you have an adult supervising. You can't have a bunch of teens and pre-teens camping alone, I have never come across a place that would allow it. I am not from Florida, so I don't know of any campsites. Do you know anyone with a really big backyard? That is always a good start. Or, check out:

http://www.floridastateparks.org/

http://www.recreation.gov/recgovHome.do?topTabIndex=Home

For the invitations, I would just do a normal invitation. Here are a few ideas:

http://www.polygraphics.com/new_item.php?filename=graphics/party/kidsbday/camping-marshmallow.gif

http://www.finestationery.com/product.cfm?prod_id=81918

http://www.festivityfavors.com/item_105/Camp-Out-Camping-Birthday-Girl-Party-Invitations-Personalized.htm

Save the tie-dye idea for while you are camping.

Make sure you plan your meals well. The easy standard camping meal is hot dogs and hamburgers. Simple, but always a hit. Or, pick up a few pie irons from a local outfitters store and make some pie iron pizzas over the fire!! Walking Tacos are good too, make some taco meat, give everyone an individual bag of Fritos and put some meat inside with cheese, lettuce, sour cream, etc. S'Mores are a must. Basically, you can really cook whatever you want outside if you plan well. Make sure you have a good cooler and that everything is wrapped well so no water seeps in to your food.

Activities:

-Tie-dying shirts: have everyone bring a blank tee-shirt and then you provide the die. Make sure you have lots of rubberbands and plastic bags

- Swimming/boating: try to find a campground with a lake and boat rentals. Canoeing is always so much fun!

- Games: Check out this site for ideas:
http://www.ultimatecampresource.com/site/camp-activities/camp-games.html\

-Tell ghost stories around the fire.

-Hiking - find a scavenger hunt list online and look for all those things.

Good luck!

birthday party thank you cards?

Jeffrey

I had a 60th birthday party and the invitation said "Please no gifts, just you!" I received many gifts from bottles of fine wine to gift certificates for dinner. Is it expected that I mail thank you cards to these gift givers?

Answer
Yes, sure you can send thanks message to all of them...
There are various templates or cards available in market or online where you can add or find no gifts line...

Happy Birthday...:)

Any cool ideas for a 17 years old birthday rock party, also how can i make a cool invitation cards ?

Rana T

Answer
For the Invitations you could get stationary that looked like a guitar or drums etc, (things that are in a rock band) and use a cool font that looks like a rocker would use it.

You could get friends or local rock band to play at your party and you could have like a dance floor. You could get plastic cups and get your guests to write on them with sharpies. You could print your birthday on the cups and get everyone to sign them and then you could keep them.

Have like serving bowls like rock band shapes. (if you can find them) Make snow cones... (if not cold)

Perhaps a chocolate fountain with different things to dip.

Instead of a band, just play favorite music!

what to do on a birthday party?

Q. im turning 23 this june. i need ideas on how to make my birthday a blast. usually i just take my friends out for a meal. any unique ideas? im thinking of a trip somewhere, maybe at the beach etc., but what do we do there? also if theres any idea, it would be much appreciated :)

Answer
Hip Hop Theme
For those who love to dance, a hip hop theme will make a memorable party. Invitations that resemble backstage passes are simple to create with a computer and a photo program. First create a rectangle that is 4 inches by 7 inches, and fill it in with any color that will complement the party color scheme. Then, add a square picture of the guest of honor to the top of it. Type in the important party information below the picture, and be sure to tell guests to dress in their best hip hop clothes. Baggy shirts, baggy pants and tennis shoes will make a great outfit for a hip hop themed party. On the side of the invitation, create a strip that runs lengthwise from top to bottom and fill it in with the color black. On that strip type the words "Backstage Pass," and turn the words sideways to make sure it fits. Using white lines in different widths, create a bar code and place it at the top of the black strip to make the invitation look more authentic. Invitations can be delivered in a lanyard, so guests can wear their backstage passes around their necks. As guests arrive give them sunglasses, fake gold chains and fake gold rings to wear throughout the night as party favors.

Decorating for a hip hop themed party is simple. Hang large posters featuring various hip hop artists on the walls. Cardboard cut outs of stars also can be used to add to the ambiance. Hip hop has gone through many transformations over the years, and includes things like graffiti and break dancing. Incorporating various parts of hip hop into the decor will not only complement the theme, but provide additional entertainment for the party guests as well. On one wall, hang large sheets of butcher paper and have cups filled with Sharpie markers in various colors. Allow guests to use these markers to create their own graffiti throughout the night. Hip hop stars like elegance, so the decor should resemble a party stars would attend. Use strands of white Christmas lights as the main source of lighting, and consider having a disco ball hanging over the dance area. Purchase white balloons, streamers and table linens to decorate the area. Serve food in bowls that look like crystal, and allow guests to drink beverages from champagne glasses. If the budget allows, have an open bar for guests who choose to drink alcoholic beverages. For additional table decorations, scatter fake diamonds on the table top along with candles on crystal candle sticks.

Hire a DJ or have a friend or family member control the music for the evening. In addition to popular club music, include hits from the past. Guests will enjoy hearing songs from artists like Michael Jackson, Bel Biv Devoe and TLC. For added entertainment, hire a professional to teach guests various break dancing moves or hold a dance competition and allow guests to challenge each other to see who has the best moves.

80's Theme
An 80's theme is not only an easy theme to create, but it is one guests are sure to enjoy. In addition to the important party information on the invitations, be sure to tell guests to dress in their best 80's costumes. Women can wear skirts with leggings under them and belly shirts. Men can wear jean jackets and a concert T-shirts. For party favors, give guests glow necklaces and fluorescent hats as they arrive at the party.

Decorations should complement the decade as well. Balloons, streamers and table linens in fluorescent pink, yellow and green will instantly give the room an 80's look. Black lights will help set off the fluorescent colors. In addition to the party favors given at the door, set bowls of jelly bracelets, slap bracelets and glow sticks around the room. Not only will it add to the decor, but the guests will have fun playing with them as well. Hang posters of popular stars from the 80's around the room, and have a TV set up to play old music videos with the sound muted. A fog machine will add a great special effect to the dance area as well. For entertainment, play various songs from the 80's and let guests dance the night away.

Toga Party
A toga party is a fun theme for a 23rd birthday bash. Send invitations telling guests a toga is required. Guests can purchase togas from a costume store or they can easily make one out of a sheet. Keep extra sheets on hand in case guests arrive who are not in proper toga attire. Keep decorations to a minimum, with streamers, balloons and table linens in coordinating colors. A TV can be set up to play the movie Animal House in the background to get guests in the mood for a wild party. Keep food to a minimum as well; in fact, simply serving chips and dip is fine. Alcohol, preferably kegs of beer, is the main focus of a toga party and should be randomly placed throughout the party area. To entertain guests, make sure there is a large dance area, and turn the music up so the guests can enjoy the night.

ok so im having a rave birthday theme party for my 17 b day..?

scared gir

so im having a rave themed bday party and idk what type of foods i should serve or drinks or anything i need ideas plz help!!

Answer
Don't be Scared Girl! Raves bring together diverse individuals with a shared interest in high energy music and dancing. Raves parties have become quite popular within youth culture. Plan to make your party stand out from the rest with a theme.

Step 1

Select a theme: One to two months in advance, consider the atmosphere you would like for your party. Choose a single theme or variations of a single theme. Themes can be based on a geographic location, a point in time, an event, a holiday, movie and literary characters, or even a color. Incorporate rave toys like flashing jewelry, party sticks, mirrored balls, lighted items, or fog, foam and bubble machines. Creatively incorporate your theme throughout the party.

Step 2

Assemble a team: Although you may find people willing to work for free, be prepared to offer small incentives. Have 4 or 5 workgroups with assigned roles and specific tasks. For example, you may have a Fundraiser Team, Location Team, Advertisement Team, Music & Lights Team or Set-up/Clean-up Team. Each team should consider how to incorporate the theme within their particular tasks.

Step 3

Determine the budget: Rave costs will depend on the size and location of resources. Partner with people willing to contribute money or donate items to avoid or limit use of your personal finances. Keep door charges to a minimum.

Step 4

Advertise to desired participants: During your planning phase, start getting the word out and a buzz started. Whether the rave will be invitation-only or open to the public, be creative in incorporating the theme in flyers, stickers, websites or any other marketing materials.

Step 5

Secure a space: Consider a space that will allow for the full expression of the theme. A beach may be an excellent location for a luau-themed rave. The space should be safe, well-ventilated, and appropriate to the size and entertainment needs of the rave. There should be room for dancing as well as sit-down conversation. Other considerations include accessibility, parking, noise level and any issue that may be problematic for neighboring residents and businesses. Be creative in your location selection. Raves can be held in a variety of venues including rooftops, warehouses, barns and bars.

Step 6

Secure music and other audiovisual elements: Select music, DJs and live bands to further enhance the party theme. Certain music may seem a better fit for a rave set in 4000 A.D. on planet Saturn. Once you have identified the right entertainment, negotiate hours of work, compensation and playlist. Determine whether you will need to rent speakers, monitors, turntables and other sound equipment. Also incorporate the theme in your use of visual effects. Projected slides and light imagery can make an unforgettable rave.

Step 7

Limit effect of drug/alcohol use: Do your best to prevent the abuse of drugs and alcohol during the rave. Prohibit the sell and use of illegal drugs on-site. Be sure that those consuming alcohol are of legal age and not over-doing it. Provide non-alcoholic options, water and snacks for party-goers. Consider having a "chill out" room for those who may have overindulged in drugs and alcohol or suffer from dehydration and exhaustion.

Where should I have my daughters 13th party? & Invitation ideas?

Ashley

My daughter is turning 13, she wanted to go roller skating, but she has tons of baby cousins & she knew they wouldn't have fun.. we live in Temecula Ca. so maybe something near here would be good. & we want homemade inviatations, what are good ideas on how to create/ decorate them? Thanks!

Answer
I remember for my 13th birthday party my parents got me on of those bouncy house like things... except it was a huge water slide that was almost taller then my house and you would slide down into a pool. It was really fun and everyone had a blast. Even 5 years later I think that has got to be one of the funnest birthday parties I had when I was young.

I am hosting an 80th birthday party for my Dad. On the invitations, how can I respectfully ask for no gifts?

Gringa

My Dad's motto has always been, If I need it, I will buy it, If I don't need it, I don't want it. Simply typing no gifts sounds a little harsh to me.

Answer
The generally accepted way to designate no gifts is just to write "Please, no gifts" in the bottom corner of the invitation.

If it's a less formal invitation, just write what you've told us: "Please, no gifts. As you all know, Dad's motto is, 'If I need it, I'll buy it. If I don't need it, I don't want it'."

I'm sure it will be a lovely birthday party, good luck to you and your father!

17th Birthday: Black Light Party Ideas??!?

PRINCESS

My best friend and I are having our 17th birthday party together this spring and it's going to be a black light party with strobe lights too.. it's going to be pretty big- with 80 kids from our junior class. We already have a location but we were wondering if you guys could come up with ANY good ideas to help us out like food, decorations, invitations, ect. Thanks!!

Answer
I'm holding a small 18th birthday party next month that will have black light. I was reading on websites that it's a good idea to make things glow. Like, put gummy worms/bears in a bowl and have a glowstick at the bottom. There some sort of technique called "glowstringing" but I don't know exactly what it is. I'm interested to see answers because I don't have a lot of ideas for my party either and it'll be in February or early march.

Good luck!

Ideas for a Camp Rock premiere party?

LUCY

It's just a small sleepover with my 3 best friends, my little sister and her friend. Any ideas?

Answer
Well, Target's selling Camp Rock stuff though it's probably too late to go out and buy it. :D I would suggest having lots of popcorn and a few microphones...Just turn on the captions and sing along to the songs as if it's a karaoke competition. :) Print out the Camp Rock DVD picture and on the back, have everyone write an alternate ending or continuation to the movie. Read them aloud and see what everyone else is thinking. :D Have fun!!

Btw, before you see the movie, get a list of characters in the movie (make sure the actors aren't on the list!) and try and guess which actor will be playing each. It'll be easy for the obvious ones like Demi Lovato=Mitchie and Joe Jonas=Shane, but it's harder for the lesser known characters like Peggy.

Help planning my 15th birthday party?? best answer gets 10 points?

Ally

My birthday is coming up and I need help planning it. I'm going to have a scavenger hunt & i'm trying to figure out what the final destination should be. Either a hotel, or this cool forest place where theres a "glamping" place with tents and stuff. I'm really girly, and never camp so i was thinking the idea of glam-camping would be fun. Which one do you think would be more fun? I'm inviting around 24 girls. If you think I should do glamping, how would you suggest I set it up for the # of girls?

Answer
I would say go somewhere cool. Like skyzone or something like that, and then go somewhere cool for dinner

Any ideas on how to celebrate birthday when u have boy and girl that birthday is a week apart?

marisol g

I have a 7 year old that's birthday is march 7th and have a 3 year old which birthday is March 14th. my boy is a fan of Batman and my daughter is a fan of anything girly. Well we know how the economy is so hard right now we are going to have one party for both but my husband and i decided to split the invitations. 25 invitations will go for my son and 25 will go for her. Now I'm debating on the decoration part. i already have everything i need for batman. Is it okay or should i decorate some stuff for her too. She said she doesn't mind she only wants a separate cake and doesn't care about the decoration. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you

Answer
If you have a cheap party store near you I would also buy some decorations for your daughter. I know she may say she doesn't care but she is 7. You should always let her know that she is special also. Places like Factory Card Outlet sell stuff through the internet if you do not have a store near by. They are very affordable.

What are good ideas for my party?

AlexisS

My 16th birthday is coming up so I wanted to have a really different theme for a party. I didn't want anything fancy or classy like most girls do at my age, so I settled on a Superhero Sweet Sixteen party. I thought it would be different and fun to dress up with my family and friends. Do you have any ideas for decorations, invitations, lights etc..? I'm having it at a club, if that helps. :) Thank You!

Answer
Hi

I'm a professional party planner. I have a page of Superhero party ideas on my site at:

http://www.party-ideas-by-a-pro.com

Go to Party Themes A-Z then select Superhero.

A lot of the ideas are aimed at kid's but there are some for adults too, and I'm sure you could adapt some of the ideas to suit your age group. Ideas include:

Invitations made out of Superhero eye masks

Invitation wording

Superhero themed drinks recipes:
Red, White & Blue Captain America drinks
Green Hulk Juice
Black 'Dark Knight' punch
Purple Joker Juice

Superhero themed food:

Batman logo shaped black bread sandwiches
Superman logo toasted sandwiches
Green Jell-O Kryptonite
Hulk Gamma Ray Pea Soup Shots
Captain America Red, White, and Blue Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Captain America Red, White, and Blue Ice Pops

Decoration and Styling Tips inc:

Line trays with comic book covers
Make food cones out of comic book covers
Make a home-made Bat-signal

There are also ideas for Superhero party games but most of these are aimed at kids, although you might be able to adapt the Superhero training obstacle course and substitute with more age-appropriate challenges / dares / forfeits etc.

Hope that helps

Matt

Activities For A Luau Birthday Party?

KK

Im having a luau birthday party and all I have for actities is Limbo....help

Answer
Issue invitations: When thinking of a birthday party celebration, the first thing that comes to our mind is invitations. Since the theme has already been decided on, sending out the party invitations in a truly Hawaiian style would be a good idea. You can send out a beach bottle invitation. Start by finding some clear water bottles and fill with a little sand and sea shells to give it a beach effect. Take a piece of bright blue color paper and write the party details on it. Then roll up the paper and place it inside the bottle. This will truly impress your guests.

Hang the decorations: To give your party a special Hawaiian effect, you can convert your party area into a tropical paradise. For a beach effect you can decorate with candles, luau lights, bamboo torches, and coconuts. If indoors, you can hang green and blue streamers from the ceiling to create a lagoon effect. You can also decorate the walls with palm trees that have been painted on poster board or cardboard and cut out. For the walls indoors, you can hang posters of tropical islands or travel posters. Drape fishnets over a fence outdoors or over the luau birthday party table to create a tropical look. You can also hang tiny shell necklaces around the yard or party room.

Find Hawaiian Party games: Games and activity play an important role in making your party a memorable event. For Hawaiian Luau birthday party you can go for

Dress Up Relay Game: For this game you will need to prepare 2 bowls filled with paper notes - one that has the names of the guests and other with the activity you want them to perform. Some examples of activities are âwiggle like a fishâ or âroar like a lionâ. The birthday child then gets to pick one name and one activity and then announce what the guest needs to perform. The best performer turns out to be a winner.
Imitate An Animal Game: For this game you will have to prepare male and female outfits ahead of time. Male outfits could include a shirt, hat, pants, shoes and a tie and the women outfits could include a blouse, skirt, hat, shoes, necklace and a purse. Then divide your guests into 2 teams and make them stand on different sides of the yard or party area. When the game starts, the first guest for each team needs to put on an outfit and run to the opposite side of the yard or party area. Then they have to take off their outfit and hand it to the next team member. The team which finishes first is the winner.

Create the party food: Good delicious Hawaiian food is a big hit at any luau birthday party. Snacks or appetizers of grilled satays or kebabs, fruit and veggies would work well. Another very festive idea is to serve Ice Cream at an Ice Cream bar. Preparing a luau cake is very easy and a great way to impress your guests. It starts with a rectangular cake of an flavor. Then cover half of the cake with white frosting tinted blue, so that it looks like a sea. Then cover the other half of the cake with white frosting and sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of it so that it looks like sand. Next, set Hawaiian toy dancers on the sand and have a tiny shark coming up out of the ocean.

Preschool Birthday Party?

RW

Hi,

We are recently moved to US from UK & new to customs of US. My 4 yrs old is going to preschool and he has received birthday invitation from fellow classmate.
Due to new in the country have some questions:
1. Invitation is on my kidâs name that means only he is invited and we have to drop him at venue and pickup later or one parent can accompany with kid?
2. What should be good birthday gift for fellow classmate? How much I should spend for birthday gift?

Thanks for your help.

RW

Answer
1. Yes, only the child is invited and you drop him off and pick him up later on. If you are willing to stay, you could talk to the birthday child's parent and offer your help to supervise the children or to help with games or something. She might just take you up on that. But normally, you would just leave the child. (Also leave your phone number in case you need to be reached.)
2. Let your son give you ideas of what to give. Because your son is the same age, chances are he shares similar tastes. You should spend around $20. You could always attach the gift receipt inside the card in case the child gets duplicates or wants to return the item.

A monkey theme birthday.?

Pregnant w

My son is turning 2 this june and im planning a monkey theme party ,i went online to find plates acups ect... and all i can find is curious george wich i dont want and than i found neon monkey which i liked but i would rather get something from a store ,so my question is does anyone know of a store that carries monkey them party tableware?

Answer
Hi, What a good idea! Have you tried www.ebay.co.uk
www.abdab.co.uk
www.partypacks.co.uk
www.partybox.co.uk
www.themeparty.co.uk
Also i have found this for you:
Sometimes it seems like kids are like little monkeys, always climbing around, kidding about, making jokes and overall looking for mischief. So let them bring out their innner monkey with this fun theme party that can be used for a birthday party, or any time your kids want to hang out with their friends.
Invitations
Take a piece of paper and a large banana. Trace around the banana on the paper to create a template. Use the template to trace bananas on yellow card stock to use as your invitations.

Decorations
Decorate your party with multi-hued green streamers. Palm tree cutouts can be found at party supply stores or online. Hang plush monkeys and plush or real bananas around the palm trees. Tie brown raffia table skirts around your tables.

Games and Crafts
Warm up the party as guests are arriving with a simple craft activity.

Younger party goers will enjoy coloring fun monkey pictures.
Give girls an assortment of jungle color beads such as greens, browns and yellow to create jungle charm bracelets. Include monkey and banana charms.
Let the children create magnetic monkeys using pipe cleaners and donut shape magnets.
Organize a Barrel of Monkeys contest. Have each contestant race to connect as many monkeys as possible within one minute. The child who makes the longest monkey chain wins.

Play Monkey See, Monkey Do - Have the children sit in a large circle. Select one child to leave the group momentarily, then appoint another child as the head monkey. The head monkey will lead the group in funny monkey moves such as patting their heads, or rubbing tummies, etc. However, the head monkey needs to do this as secretly as possible. The game begins when the child who left the room returns to the group. She or he has to guess who the head monkey is while the monkeys in the circle try not to look too obviously at the head monkey as they follow his lead. Once the guesser discovers who the head monkey is, she can return to the circle and the head monkey becomes the next guesser.

Treats for Special Little Monkeys
You can serve these food items to the children already prepared, or allow the children to create these treats themselves as a party activity.

What monkey wouldn't love a Banana Split?
Monkey face cupcakes are easy to make and fun to eat.
Banana Smoothies are tasty and the kids won't even mind that they're a healthy treat!
The kids won't be able to keep their hands away from yummy Monkey Bread.
Goody Bags
There are many choices for banana flavored candy including taffy, lollipops, jelly beans, etc. Fruit shaped candy would also fit the theme, especially Wonka Runts. Other monkey items could include socks with monkey pictures; monkey notepads; monkey topped pens; monkey stuffed animals.

Disney's camp rock themed birthday party?

Disney's camp rock themed birthday party?
my little cousin is turning 10 and we need some ideas on what to do for her party her theme is disney's camp rock we don't know what we should do for
the cake
goody bags
piniata
games
etc.
also her party is an overnight so i need quite a few activities.
thanks

Answer
Here are some idea's that I have;

-Order a cake in the shape of a music note, or order a sheet cake and have music notes drawn on it and have it say 'Welcome To Camp Rock!' on the cake.
-Buy a pinata in the shape of a music note or musical instrument.
-Why not throw a little music competition? Give each of the kids lyrics to a song to sing and then have 1 or 2 adults "judge" the performances. You can give out gold plastic medals for participation.
-For the goodie bags, why not put in musical-themed stationary and pencils? Oh! How about you make a little program booklet to put into each goodie bag of a list of the events/activities that will go on during the party?
-You could have a movie marathon of 2-3 musical-themed movies [Grease, High School Musical, etc..] and have "Movie Marathon" listed in the program booklet followed by the movies that are going to be watched.
-I agree with the trivia idea. You can ask questions about the Jonas Brothers, other bands/singers, musical instruments and stuff that is music-themed [like the movies or anything you can think of].

Well, those are just some idea's that I thought of.

Hope I Helped!

I hope your cousin has an awesome 10th birthday! ;]

-Tiffany

------

P.S. Also, you could give out musical-themed prizes like High School Musical merchandise or little knick-knacks that say things like 'I Heart Singing' or 'I Heart Music' on them. You could also buy plain t-shirts and design a cool iron-on logo [a Camp Rock logo, or maybe a group picture of the kids] and put it on the shirt. You could have each individual child's name printed on the back of the shirt. You could give the shirts out before everyone leaves. You could do this with pillow cases or anything, as well. Or, maybe you could have a crafts activity and have each of the kids design their own musical-themed photo frame, pillow case or whatever.

P.P.S. Take some candid pictures of the kids throughout the party. You can buy little photo albums and give the albums with the pictures in them out as a gift before everyone goes home. It'd be a great way for the kids to always remember the party. You may need a digital camera and printer for this though, or a fast photo place near by like K-Mart or Wal-Mart or whatever you have.

P.P.P.S. I agree with watching the movie at the party if it airs prior to the time of the party. Record it on VHS or DVD [or have someone do it for you] if it airs before you have the party, so the kids can rewatch it.

P.P.P.P.S. Remember to just have fun. You don't need to do a lot of things just to have a good time. I'm sure the kids would be just as happy sitting in front of the TV, pigging out on pizza and junk food, singing along to songs from the movie. ;]

18th Birthday Party Ideas!!!!!!?

Trenton Mi

Hi!!! Im trying to plan a completely awesome 18th birthday party this year for one last big party before all my friends leave for college. I dont quite know how, but through the years i have gotten a bit of a rep for throwing good parties so people are expecting something really good...the only issue is im not really sure what id like to do. I just dont want any repeats of previous years....ive had movie/oscar theme, halloween, a beach party, bowling, day at the spa/broadmore, dirt biking, camping, sky diving/water park, giant scavenger hunt and the rest were all kinda kiddy. Both girls and boys (about 15 to 30 teens around my age) will be coming this year so it has to be flexible. Ive been thinking about a paintball/lazer tag party this year but i wanted to see what else was out there.
anybody every do anything really amazing or have any great ideas???
thanks!
Trenton M. McG. =D

Answer
Hi! This is my favorite of all theme actually. How about trying a rock theme one?

Guitars, stars, musical notes, mixtapes are the main thingys. Having a small convert stage would be fun!

Photobooth will also be a good one so that your visitors can have a souvenir from your party at the same time, a remembrance.

I suggest you should have a dress code too. Everyone's gonna wear a chucks? or somewhat similar to it. This is a suggestive one for girls, girls should wear skirt and a chucks. Everyone's gonna wear a rock`in statement shirt, or just a plain statement shirt?

Hmmm.. I think you'd be having a hard time customizeng your food. Well anyway, it's your choice. I'll be sharing you a pictures of cool stuffs I've been gathered.

How I wish I'd help. That's actually my frustration, having a rock-theme party.
Advance Happy Birthday Trenton. :]

Cool Teen Girl Birthday Party Ideas?

Abigail M

I am having my 14th birthday party soon and I want to do something original. Something that everyone will remeber forever! So far my ideas are a mall or town scavenger hunt, laser tag, paint-balling, scary movie in a tent, and skate park. I like all of these but they still don't seem bold enough. Im an emo/gothic girl but I can be girly and prissy to sometimes. People have also said spa day, 50's-80's night, pool party, ice skating, roller skating, bowling, and movies. I didnt like these as much as the others and I am not considering them so please don't repeat them!! People do that alot! Help me find a BOLD CRAZY party idea!! And also the rents have a money budget so keep it realistic please! I wanted to have a limo pick me and my friends up from school and take us to the mall and movies but way to much! I also wanted to go to a concert with my buds but the rents said that wouldn't only be my party but my gift also, so I marked that off the list. Eventhough that would be totally awesome! Please help out!!
I'm not exactly sure what my spending limit is but in the past parties haven't been a huge deal. But I'm hoping to stretch it a little this year. From these answers so far I've gotten house lockdown(one od the top on my list so far) and amusement park(wouldn't be able to take as many friends since the cost) and a hotel room(once again more expesive=less friends).

Answer
if possible rent out a dance hall (or concert hall, recption hall, anywhere you can hold a party) or if you think your house is suitable enough, do that. And have a masquerade! hold competitions for the most creative, outrageous, eccentric mask/costume. (invite everyone you know! the more the better the party will be) and say on the invitation "dress to impress" so people will respect the theme. If you don't have any ideas of what a masquerade should look like, check out costume films like Marie Antoinette, or Amadeus (both available on YouTube).

sweet 16 birthday party ideas..help?

Allie O'Ha

I really need some ideas on stuff to do, not like games but maybe places we could go that wouldn't be too expensive...like laser tag? That was an idea my sister came up with, but I just need some more advice...
someone said Ice Skating since my birthday is in July but sometimes the top of the skate will dig into your leg and it hurts so I don't want people to deal with that..
Also, I don't have a neighborhood pool, so swimming is out of the question.
then I thought afterwards, we'd come back to my house and party but I don't really know..
please help!

Answer
Movie party at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decorations for this at oriental trading. com and you can also find some movie stuff on the hollywood sites I mentioned above. Watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance if your have room.

Movie party at the movies. Take a few friends to the movies at a cheaper earlier matinee and then come home and make or order pizzas and have a sundae bar. Do the same as above.

Luau, beach Hawaii: Orientaltrading has the coolest decorations and favors for this theme and the cutest tropical invitation in the bottle. Give your guests leis as they come in. Play Limbo, Hula hoop, and have a few grass skirts and everyone (including the guys) have to give hulaing a try. Again if you have room to do this at home or you can rent a small room. Tropical pinata. Twister. Dollar tree just came out with everything you need to have this party including tableware, decorations, favors, etc.

Bowling party. Do a bowling party and then go home and have or make pizzas and do a sundae bar. Play twister, Karaoke, wii or like games, dance, etc. decorate a bit with a theme you like.

Birthday Party?

elfin418gi

He's turning 7.
What do little kids do at birthday parties, besides eat cake and ice cream? Should I do party bags? Streamers?

thanks

Answer
I love kids' bday parties, and I am known around our small town for my themed parties. I have won twice on www.birthdaypartyideas.com (pirates of the caribbean 7 yr old June 2004 I think? & spongebob 6 yr old 2005). However, I think I am not the norm, as many moms don't have the time or creative energy to do all that work. That website is a great idea for decorating, games, food, etc.

My point is, moms have said to me, "oh, my parties are so boring compared to yours". Not so according to my kids. Kids love parties period. My kids have never said my parties were better than "so and so's". But kids do need to keep busy. You don't have to do the themed thing, but kids do get a kick out of it. But my basic suggestions are (from experience):

1. Keep it 2 hours - 2 1/2 max.

2. Forget feeding them a meal. I find the best time is 1 to 3, or 2 to 4. I tried the lunch thing, and 90% of them did not eat as they were too excited. I threw the meals away.

3. DO have munchies tho' and juice boxes.

4. Plan for around 4 games, and depending on the child, a craft. I usually did craft from 1 to 1:30 -- allowing latercomers to arrive and do their craft; games from 1:30 to 2:15; cake & singing and gift opening and free-play from 2:15 to 3. It usually worked out fine.

5. If you're having it at your home, keep the party in one room. Bedrooms were off limits. I've heard of parties where a child's favourite toy is broken 'cuz of the barrage of kids in their room. I tell those that want to crash my son's room, "you can come another day for a play day". If it's an outdoor party, the kids stay outdoors unless they need to use the washroom.

6. I use the rule with my kids, "you can invite the same # of kids as the age you're turning", so if your child is turning 7, he/she can invite 7 friends.

7. Goody bags are a must -- and kids really look forward to them, so if you have extra money to spend, do it here. Dollar stores are great for this.

8. ALWAYS call moms/dads who do not RSVP your invite. Don't assume their child's coming if you haven't heard anything. I had a mom last year who didn't call me, because the invitation did not make it to her hands. Somewhere between school and home, her son lost it. So it's always good to follow up. Oh, and I typically send invites out 2 weeks before the party.

9. I like playing music at the party -- just to break the silence! My music was theme-related, so for Spongebob, I found Spongebob music off the web, etc.

Don't get stressed over it; plan early; and have fun!!

Birthday Invitations?

Samantha

I am planning my boyfriends 25th birthday party and am planning on doing a Luau Theme. I want to get really nice invitations, so is there any site that does free printable or fairly inexpensive luau theme or Hawaiian theme invitations. I would like to be able to have them printed so if a site does that, Im willing, as long as it is not crazy expensive. I only need about 30 invitations and I dont want to spend more the $40 so if anyone has any ideas, let me know please!!!

Answer
there is a luau printable here
http://www.make-your-own-invitations.com/printable-luau-invitations.html

they also do cheap printable photo invites - just tell em what you want and they make printable for you to print at home.

What are some ideas for a twilight series birthday party???

vampireluv

my birthday is the day after the twilight movie comes out, so we will go and see the movie. after that, i have NO idea on what to do! any ideas???
i was thinking about games with the teams being team edward and team jacob, but i need help!!! please!!!

Answer
I actually had a Twilight birthday party this May. I'll tell you some of the things that we did:

-Instead of TPing someone, you can go FORKing and stick plastic FORKS in someone's yard

-You can get big 3 liter things of soda a print out lables like 'Blood Type A+' and such

-decorate your house like Alice did for Bella's B-day, Japanese paper lanterns, pink roses, Christmas lights

-have a trivia contest, each person can be a character from the book, and you can ask them trivia questions about their character. The winner gets a Twilight soundtrack either from the movie when it comes out or the one that Stephenie Meyer has on her website.

-have Twilight music playing in the background

- Watch Pride and Prejuduce (Twilight), Romeo and Juliet (New Moon), Wuthering Heights (Eclipse) and A Midsummers' Night Dream (Breaking Dawn)

-Serve cake on black plates with red napkins

-Compare the Twilight movie to the book after you have seen it

-If you are going to the midnight showing of the movie, then you can buy shirts for each one of your friends and make Twilight movie shirts to wear to the theater

-Eat apples for snacks

-have a fun debate over Edward and Jacob (GO EDWARD!!!)

-if you have a pool, then you can go 'cliff diving' and jump off a diving board or something

-your invitations can come in black envelopes and be on some really fancy red paper and say something like 'Alice Cullen cordially invites you to a celebratory party for vampireluvrs birthday. RSVP Edward Cullen 555-5555' you can even put a red ribbon or like an apple sticker on the invitations.

-you can bob for apples

-tape a piece of paper to everyone's back, making eveyone a different character. No one can see their own paper, and everyone goes around and asks about their character. the winner can get a prize

-play a temptation game by putting a piece of cake (a human) in front of everyone. The loser is the one that takes the first bit of cake.
-Make 'save the Olympic Wolf' posters that Bella throws away at Newtons

There are endless possibilities for party favors. Here are a few options:

-make and give away twilight t-shirts

-make a scrap book page like Bella does in New Moon. Include an empty space that says 'Edward Cullen'. for the rest of the page, put pictures of your friends and you at the party.

-give away paper back copies of Twilight (that might be a little pricey)

Hope that I helped! Contact me if you need any more suggestions!

Birthday Ideas for a 10 year old boy?

Chosenone

So my brother who is currently 9 years old is wanting to plan a party. Thing is his birthday is NOVEMBER 26th. So thats near thanksgiving and many people, my family don't travel near thanksgiving holidays, He wants to do something very cool and exciting and fun because in the last 3 years he has spent his birthday in the house and its very sad to him. Like I say he going to be turning 10 so if you have any ideas in mind. Please help him out. and me and my family will try to make this the best party he has ever had. The things he like to do it , he into wrestling . He play his psp all day in the morning when he wake up. In afternoon/evening and night. He goes to bed early just so he can wake up early to play his psp. It drives me insane. but anyways plz help with the party ideas. NOTE AGAIN his bday is NOVEMBER 26. . Thanks for all your help.

Answer
That's got to be rough for him-- a lot of kids born near holidays often have their birthday overlooked or downplayed.

If your family can afford it, why not put a little aside to go spend the day out. That way you won't have to spend that exhausting day after Thanksgiving cleaning and preparing for a party-- you just leave the house, and come home with the presents.

If he loves video games, why not take him and a few friends to an arcade like Chuck E. Cheese to play to their heart's content. You don't even have to have a full party if you have a small group-- just pass out tokens (start collecting coupons for buy-1-get-1 free deals) and some soft drinks, then bring in a cake (they allow you to do that). Note on the invitations that it's just a play party, no meal-- only cake is served, and try not to have it around dinner time-- like 10 AM might be good because it's before it gets too crowded.

Or-- what my son loves to do-- he's going to be 13 next week. All he ever wants for a party is to invite a few friends over and play video games and watch movies all night-- they camp out in the living room. They like simple foods-- pizza, hot dogs, burgers, etc.-- some popcorn and chips, lots of juice packs and I bake a cake. Then I make them a pancake breakfast.

No major decorating, and pretty cheap-- he always has a blast. He prefers it because he knows he can get a better gift if we don't spend lots on a party.

I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but I live in FL so we do a lot of fall B-day parties with friends at the park. One year we had a Harry Potter theme party-- lots of candy and a game of "ground quiddich" with some balls and Halloween witch brooms I got at a dollar store. Decorations are minimal since you just have the party out there on a park bench. Sometimes we grill hot dogs, or sometimes we bring sandwiches.

Again-- this will save from heavy decorating and mess in house-- and you don't have to worry about space or anything because the park is big and there are so many things to do. Instead of Harry Potter, you could just have an "Olympics" games with races and tug-of-war, or, if you live where it's warm year-round like I do, water balloon and water gun fights.

Good luck and you are sweet to be thinking of your brother so far ahead.

Q. I need to make a good party invitiation someone help!

Answer
If you want to send the invitations via Email, I suggest using Evite. They have lots and lots of invitations for all sorts of parties and events. If you want to print and mail them, you can go to the HP website, Microsoft Office Templates, American Greetings (you have to pay for this one...) to name a few. I just did my son's 6th Birthday Party through Evite, and included a map for people who weren't familiar with the area; it worked out great! Good Luck!

Answer
Wild West Birthday Party
Invitations:
Make invitations in the shape of boots, stars or horses.
Verse:
Yeee haw! It's Wild West Birthday party time in the ________ (your last name) corral.
Ranch address: _____________
Branding time: _____________
RSVP by ________ so we'll know to be expectin' ya!
(Have the invitations set at 6pm to 11pmâ¦. so you can play at while the sun still up and dance the night away. Itâs up to you/parents.) Have yourself and your guest dresses in western wears⦠get the real âwild westâ feel!

Decorations:
Set the mood as guests arrive by placing cacti (potted or even inflatable) and river stones along your walkway. Find old pieces of wood and use them to paint signs that say "Saloon" or "Giddy up!" or "Rawhide!" Personalize your party by taking photos of your guests and making Western-style Wanted posters for them.

Lanterns can be used inside and out to create your home on the range. If you have a fireplace, throw on some logs or fill the space with pillar candles in different heights.

For your outdoor dining area, use red or yellow gingham tableware and accessories, to bring a western sunset into your pad.

Get into Stepinâ:
Music: Set up a stereo system and play your favorite country or hire a band

Grab your partner, and get ready to get down. Western parties are the perfect time for line dancing, square dancing or doing your best Texas Two Step. For novice dancers, hire a professional dancer or ask a friend to show everybody how it's done.

Games:
An old-fashioned game of horseshoes is another great way to get everybody involved. You'll need a lawn, two stakes and some horseshoes for this one. Place the stakes in the ground 40 feet apart on a relatively flat surface. There are various kinds of scoring. Here's one easy way to score: A horseshoe that encircles a stake earns you three points, a horseshoe that leans on the stake is two points, and (if no horseshoes reach the stakes) the nearest horseshoe to the stake is awarded one point. To prevent injury, be sure to keep people from entering the game area while you're playing.

Cowboy Roundup:
Youâll need a rope lasso and a length pole. Teach the guests how to throw a lasso in around the length pole.

Relay Races Western Style:
Make up several relay races and let the guests run them with their mop horses. Or buy two stick horses and let the guests trade off with each other. (This one is funny cuzâ the teens actually played!!)

Cowboy Hat Toss:
Cut several stars out of thick cardboard. Place a cowboy hat on the ground about 5-6 feet from the throw line. Have guests line up behind the line and one at a time try and toss their stars into the hat.
Variations: Instead of stars you can tie a bandana around a golf ball.
Instead of one hat place 5 hats in a row and let them try and make it into the #1 hat first, then the #2 hat, etc. ending up with the farthest away #5 hat.

Food/Drinks
Fire up your grill for a backyard BBQ complete with ribs and burgers, and beans on the side. If you're staying indoors, make a big pot of your favorite chili or tacos, and garnish with guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, jalapeños and sour cream.

For sides, serve mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, warm cornbread muffins and a salad dressed with tangy citrus vinaigrette. Keep crowds happy with chips and salsa and bowls of sweet-and-salty trail mix while the meal is cooking.

Beverages, whatever you like at the party. Have it set in the iced buckets.

Toasted marshmallows or s'mores make a great dessert, whether you cook them over an outdoor fire, your fireplace or a fondue pot flame.
