I don't have the money to have a huge party and my house isn't that big either. Most people are busy on my birthday, but I just wanna do something simple with my friends and family. Any ideas?

Answer
For my sons sixteenth birthday I wanted to plan something really special. I made some really great ideas on my own. I struggled with a theme that would fit a boy... I finally decided because he only turns sixteen once, we would go formal... He went along reluctantly at first. I began with sending out tuxedo invitations that I found on the stumps(prom) web site. The invitations were very formal but were priced within budget. A black tuxedo incased a grey shimmering card that told the details of the party. It would be formal to semi-formal dress...I was a little nervous about what the response would be. But everyone was very excited to have an opportunity to get dressed up. Many of the guys went all out and rented tuxes and most of the girls wore long formal wear...The venue was perfect it was an elegant hall with high ceilings and a wooden dance floor. There were floor to ceiling windows that overlooked a lake with a board walk. In the middle of the lake was a lighted fountain...that just added to the atmosphere. The first big task was finding a decorating theme that was masculine. After looking at the prom decor on the stumps website, I decided that black tie was both elegant and masculine. The decor would be in black and silver. We would bring top hats and stars as elements for decor. I hired a balloon artist that would sculpt two shooting star pillars to set off the dance floor. The 9ft pillars would be alternating black and silver balloons that curved over the dance floor with a giant star at the end. The top of the pillar would have small silver balloon stars hanging from curling ribbon. It gave the effect of a comet. My best break was finding battery operated fiber optic lamps to use as centerpieces (on a novelty website). I had black linen table cloths and in the center was a mirrored tile (home depot). I placed the fiber optic spray on top of the mirror. It was so cool with the lights dimmed. Everyone went crazy for them. I also had balloon centerpieces that I attached with fishing wire to the fiber optic lamps. The balloons were high enough everyone could see and they filled up the room. We used silver paper products. To dress it up, I made personalized napkin rings that matched a banner I had made that was displayed at the entrance. As favors I order black and silver mardi gra beads. The beads had top hats on them. To personalize the beads I ordered round plastic tokens from the (tokenfactor.com). The black tokens had a silver top hat in the center, around the edge read John Wesley's sixteenth birthday bash. I bought c-rings from a crafts store and attached them to the beads. It takes a while make sure you have help or a lot of time. I had a video that highlighted his life including his friends, sports, and family. We had a great video The video started with the switchfoot song that goes welcome to the planet.welcome to existence and showed his birth date and even his sonogram. It was really neat. During the segment with all his sports pictures, it was given a cool effect by running things in slow motion and adding different angles. Make sure you get a professional or someone who is not just putting pictures together. It will make a difference. The evening was centered around our next event which was a blessing ceremony. Imagine a bar mitzvah, but different. No poems! There were 16 honorees that were asked to speak a blessing over my son's life. For instance, they would say may you blessed with divine health. May you live a long and healthy life free of disease and absent of harm. Each honoree would light a candle until sixteen candles were lit. Representing 16 spoken blessings. I ask each honoree to write their blessing down. I will later combine them into a book and give them to my son to keep. While this was the main point of the evening. I made sure to limit the time so not to lose my audience. Immediately following the blessing ceremony, the DJ moved directly into the high energy aspect of the evening. The rest of the evening took place on dance floor. We used caters that gave us teen friendly food, wings, pizza rolls, and make your own nachos.. The cake was wheeled in on cart decorated with giant number balloons 16. I had sparkler candles that made a dramatic effect with the lights dim. The end of the video was still playing with the sounds of fireworks exploding as the cake was wheeled in. We had the party of a Thursday when the next day was a holiday. This cut the cost of the venue in half but it didn't affect the attendance at all. Very seldom do things every live up to my expectations but this party did. I could use the money in a lot of different places, but he is only sixteen once you have to hold on to every moment that you can.

how to jehovah witnesses celebrate the conception of Christ?

witness913

they refuse to celebrate any birthday, but just because the bible does not order us to celebrate the inception or the birth, what is so wrong with celebrating the birthday, symbolically, of Christ's arrival, whether at inception or birth? JWs believe Christ was probably born closer to September, why do they not set aside an event to celebrate that? They seem to deprive themselves and their children from celebrating much of anything. I find this less than humble.

Answer
Jehovah's Witnesses often reject birthdays as "pagan" and will therefore refuse to participate in them. In addition to this, Witnesses also reject birthdays because they claim that they are placed in an unfavourable light in the Bible. The Bible only mentions two instances of birthdays (at least explicitly). These are Genesis 40:20-22, and Matthew 14:6-10. Two pagan rulers are in view: Pharaoh and Herod.

Jehovah's Witnesses argue that as negative things happened on these men's birthdays, then all birthdays must be evil. This is clearly a case of guilt by association as far as the Watchtower is concerned. But is this really sound reasoning? What is the source of the evil in the Biblical accounts? The birthdays or the men (Pharaoh and Herod) themselves? Obviously, it is the men who did the evil. There is nothing to suggest that these men did evil because of their birthdays. These men did evil all the time not just on their birthdays. Also, in the Genesis account, Pharaoh also did some good by setting a man free!

Witnesses often argue that there is no mention of birthdays being celebrated by any of God's servants in the Bible. Although there are no explicit references, it would appear that there is a possible implicit reference to birthday celebrations in Job (Job 1:4, 5). If this is talking about birthday celebrations, they seem to be being spoken of favourably. Job talks about Job's sons each holding a feast on "his day". In Job 3:1-4, the same Hebrew word for "day" (yowm) is used when Job curses the "day" of his birth.

Another point worth considering is that of the vast amount of chronological data in the Bible, regarding the ages of people. Obviously, there can be no doubt that Jews and Christians were certainly keeping track of people's ages. Just a couple of brief example: Moses was 40 when he was called and died at age 80 in the wilderness. There is even the recording of Jesus' age, when He was 12 and visited Jerusalem with His parents (Luke 2:42). Are we really to conclude that the arrival of a persons birthday would produce no celebration, or emotional response at all? In the light of the fact that Christians were certainly keeping a record of people's ages, one could easily imagine that such an occasion could well lead to some sort of celebration. What is an individuals definition of `celebration`?

There is nothing explicit in the Bible that that commands us to celebrate or not to celebrate birthdays. Rather, the Bible has given us a general guide on this issue when it says that we should each be convinced in our own minds (Rom. 14:5) as to the importance or non-importance of a particular day, and that it should be a matter for the conscience of the individual, between them and God, as to whether we celebrate that day or not. However, in contrast to all this, the Watchtower clearly enforces the non-celebration of certain days, to the point that a person's standing before God Himself is in jeopardy, if a birthday is celebrated in any way. The sad thing about all of this is that it is the Jehovah's Witnesses themselves who end up suffering, particularly their young people. Jehovah's Witness children can be made to feel unnecessarily isolated from their class mates when they have to decline invitations to birthday parties, and non-Witness relatives can be unnecessarily offended by the refusal of JW relatives to send them birthday or Christmas cards.

God Bless!

How do I plan my 16th birthday party?

Hi, my birthday is October 12th and I have not celebrated my birthday since i was 4, so i don't know what goes into party planning. I decided on doing a Halloween theme since it is around that time and I can find things easily. I don't want to cost my foster mom very much money. I just need to know what else you need for a party. I have food, location, and invites covered; it will be at a park and my uncle is barbecuing. Also I invited about 20 people. All ideas are excepted, thank you for helping out. :)

Answer
A birthday is a day when a person celebrates the anniversary of his or her birth. Birthdays are celebrated in numerous cultures, often with a gift, party, or rite of passage. The celebration of a birthday usually is thought to mark how old a person is, traditionally stopping when death occurs and only stating that if still alive, they would have been (number of years) old. Some contemporary writers ignore this aspect, however, and keep counting the years since the date of birth of famous people, such as proclaiming that it is Shakespeare's "four hundredth birthday" instead of noting that it is the four hundredth anniversary of his birth.

Before The Party

1) Ensure that you register your party at the nearest police station using a special party registration form. This should be done at least two weeks before the party to give the police time to provide you with necessary information and party safe wristbands.

2) Allow only invited guests to your party. This discourages gatecrashes from attending your party.

3) Avoid using SMS, internet, online notice boards, e-mail distribution lists, social networking sites to advertise your party. If the word about the party has spread, you may have to change the venue or hire security guards.

4) Make sure that the starting and finishing time of the party is stated clearly on the invitation letter. Encourage your guests to organize for safe transport back home after the party.

5) Clearly state on the invitation letters that the party is alcohol free, or if it is necessary, it should be supplied. This will make it easier to regulate the amount of alcohol served.

6) Use the party safe identification wristbands from the police for easy identification of invited guests.

7) Inform the neighbours in advance about your party to reduce concerns about noise or parking later. Give them your contacts so that they can raise their concerns directly to you rather than police.

8) Keep your valuables in a safe place so that they cannot be broken, stolen, or damaged. Laptops, cameras, handbags, and mobile phones are among the most targeted property by thieves.

9) Ensure that you have access to a phone during the event. You should have emergency number to call in case of any problem. In addition, you should have taxi company numbers to assist your guests arrive home safely. Consider booking the taxi to avoid any inconveniences.

How to invite all the friends online for my upcoming Birthday party?

Anish

My most of the friends are away from the town. I feel uneasy to invite them all via invitation cards.

Answer
I love using www.punchbowl.com for sending invites. It is completely free (you just have to sign up for an account which is simple). You can then choose from a bunch of different styles, themes, designs etc. You can even customize the invitation completely to suit your personality. Then simply send out using your email address. It is fun for them to receive as it is interactive, fun for you to create and it keeps track of all of your RSVPs for you. You can even upload a map so guests have instructions on how to get there.

Happy Birthday :)

I'm going to have a sweet 16 Hollywood themed birthday party and I need some help planning it?

Sadie

I need to know how to decorate, what to wear and games and prizes and ideas for invitations, anyone with ideas please tell me all help wanted.

Answer
I planned a hollywood themed party for my younger sisters 14th birthday and came up with some cool ideas.

I would definitely do a red carpet leading to wherever you are holding the party (or red paper from one of those big roles if your on a tighter budget.) Send out elegant invites that look like ones to the oscars or some other major hollywood event and tell your guests to dress in their red carpet best.

Enlist the help of siblings or other family members with cameras and fake microphones to snap pictures and 'interview' them as they walk the red carpet to your party. Then you can buy the cheap 90 cent plastic picture frames and print out the pictures of them at their most glam moment and write out a thank you note on the back, and put it in the frame and voila-party favor & thank you in one!

For my sisters party we found some of the wall stick ups (some of them are under the name FatHeads) of marilyn monroe and paris hilton, etc. It turned out pretty well. To bring yourself into it a bit more at craft stores that sell scrapbook supplies they have these strips that look like film negatives (but bigger) that you can put pictures in. Take some fun shots of yourself to put in them, then hang them all over the walls.

We used red & black with some silver as a basic color scheme for the party and it did look very hollywood and glamourous.

We kept the tone a little more elegant for a while, having bartenders (me and friends...) serving 'martinis' (i saw a really cute idea on a show, they called them "sixteen-is" which i loved; come up with your own recepie for a cool looking virgin drink, maybe a shirley temple with a splash of pineapple & orange juice? ) with little finger foods set out on trays. then later we cranked up the music and turned on some cool disco balls and flashing color lights and whatnot to make it into an after-party club atmosphere.

everyone had a lot of fun and it turned out really well.
hopefully some of these ideas helped you out with your planning! good luck!!

Mom is turning 90! I would like to give the guests a questionnaire to fill out about mom?

robert

Any ideas of how I can make my mom's family party personalized, giving her all the attention?

Answer
You could ask some of her closest friends and relatives to write some very short speeches, and share them. You (and/or any siblings) ought to toast your mother as the birthday cake is brought out.

You can prepare a slide show, and show it to the entire group.

They have those cakes, now, that you can actually put a photograph on top of the icing.

But mainly. . . at your mother's age, I'd just be very careful about overwhelming her. Obviously, I don't know your mom, how functional - *there* - she is. Just something to bear in mind.

Perhaps on your invitations, you could say something like "In lieu of gifts, please take a few minutes and jot down one of your fondest memories of my mother." You could present these to her as well.

Hope the party goes well. 90 - wow. Mom's a tough old bird! :)

Questions for hosting a birthday party?

I am hosting a birthday party for my one year old, it's coming up in exactly 2 weeks from today. I've already sent invitations last week and I've made food arrangements. But I'm having a lot of troubles coming up with activities.
I need any and all ideas for fun activities to do at the party. What were some fun things you did at your child's first birthday, or a birthday you've attended?

Answer
Unless you've got a lot of other kids attending, you don't really need any activities at a first birthday. The baby will be happy being amused by all the grandparents and aunts uncles and cousins, and then with the cake and the presents. Adults would be happiest socializing or snacking.

If you have older kids attending, a table with coloring books or simple games like pin the tail on the donkey or musical chairs works just fine (your one year old may enjoy watching the other kids run around the chairs, or coloring, too!).

At my son's first birthday everyone there was either a preteen or older, or a baby too. So I didn't design any activities. I did have a table set up that had a page of his scrapbook for everyone to sign and write their birthday wishes and it also had the whole scrapbook and photo album from his first year. The family members that were more distant had a good time passing that around.

We did presents and cake, and general socializing, and that was it. The party was about three hours or so and everyone had a great time.

Are save the date cards appropriate for child birthday parties?

mommyX4

Is is appropriate to send parents Save the Date cards of my child's birthday party? Her birthday falls in the summer when school is out, July to be exact. I just wanted to send a simple save the date card as a reminder of the upcoming party. I do intend to mail more formal invitations 2 weeks prior to the party. Oh, she'll be 9 years old.

Answer
I think it's a great idea. Kids with summer birthdays always get the short end of the stick, if only because it's impossible to reach many of the families. I can't imagine anyone taking offense at this.

It's unique. It's different. You're thinking outside the box. Good on ya.

My birthday is coming up, and i have no idea what to do. Anyone have any ideas?

Answer
1. Go out with a few close friends to a teen club, cafe, or concert.

2. Ask your boyfriend to take you out on a nice date.

3. Ask your parents to get a hotel room for you and a few close friends.

4. Have a small get-together, watch your favorite movie, and have your mom make all your favorite foods for you and your friends.

5. Laser tag! Just go as a group or rent a room and have a small party.

6. Ask your parents to set up a road rally or scavenger hunt. Something that involves driving around.

7. Camp out! Take a group of friends to the closest state campground for a weekend. Well, if you live down south that it.

8. Ask your parents one more time for that car you never got last year. Explain how it'll be a combined birthday and Christmas gift, how you'll get a part-time job to pay for gas and maintenance, and how much better you drive now that you've got a whole year of experience behind you. Then, on your birthday go pick up all your closest friends, show off the new car, and go to the movies or something.

I am having my 15th birthday party (sleepover). I just sent out invitations for the party yesterday. The party is on September 18th. I am inviting 7 girls. I don't want the party to be boring. What should we do? Any good movies or games that we should play?

Answer
Twister
Would you rather
Prank call guys.
Ding dong ditch!
Truth or Dare
Pillow fight
TP
Silly String
Dance to music.
Piñata
Play Video games
Play on the Internet.
Play board games if you have any
Embarrassing moments
Imitation (where you imitate some famous or well known person and friends have to guess)
BAKE BROWNIES OR COOKIES!!!
Order Pizza.
Get everyone dressed up and make a music video.
Karaoke

Oreo game-
Buy a package of oreo's. Hand each person one oreo but make sure they do not eat it yet.
Once everyone has one, have each person split the oreo in two so that one side is black and the other side has the white (or other flavor/color) filling. Then have them gently lick the side with the filling and place it on their forehead. Without using your hands (or feet) each person attempts to try to eat their oreo. I have done this many times and am surprised how creative people get. The person who eats their oreo first wins.

Whipped Cream Game. - a little messy
Everyone gets a partner. One the partners is blindfolded and have their hands tied behind their back, the other person holds a bowl filled with whipped cream and at the bottom of the bowl is a piece of gum. After being spun around and left alone from their unblindfolded partner, they have to find their partner. Once they find their partner they stick their head into the bowl and search for the piece of gum. I would suggest having the gum be hubba-bubba because they are cubes instead of flat rectangles. The first person to be chewing the gum wins! Don't forget to take a group photo at the end with the whipped cream all over their faces!!!

have fun!

I am 16 and need a little help finding a summer job that will take 16 year olds.

I live in IL and have been searching on craig's list but that hasnt been much help considering my age.

any suggestions on where/how to find one?

Answer
Here's a short list of jobs in the U.S., Canada and Europe which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

3. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

4. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

5. Visit your nearest beauty salon and ask to be trained as a shampoo person who is also willing to sweep up fallen hair on the ground and do set ups [arranging dye kits, curler holders, etc.] for a set hourly fee.

6. Become a sign flipper by contacting your nearest realtor. A flipper is someone who stands at a major intersection and flips a "For Lease/Rental" sign in order to attract visitors to an open house or to a particular real estate listing. The hourly pay is at least the minimum wage.

7. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

Answer
Make it a destination party. Love to ski, then head to the mountains.

Take a cruise. "Destination parties" are popular and travel agencies compete to find the cheapest packages.

Enjoy music and theatre, go to New York and take in the symphony or Broadway.

Love the islands, go to Maui.

If you need to stay closer to home and cut the costs think about having a "This Is Your Life Party" at the recipient's favorite restaurant. Decorate to the nines, have a slideshow from birth to the present, have people give speeches and roast the birthday person.

An Over the Hill Party equipped with black decor and foods, along with all the grim-reaper accents. Everyone comes dressed in black. The guest of honor may be picked up in a hearse. You could do a more modern version of the Over the Hill Party and have a sit-down dinner affair equipped with elegant black and silver serving pieces. Hang classy black lantern lights and serve a elegant fondant cake with black accents.

How about a Golden 50th soiree. Send out formal invitations, fancy set table, lots of gold table decor (candlesticks, silverware, napkin rings, etc.) Make sure the cake is an extravaganza. Perhaps a white cake with gold icing or a dusting of gold decorating glitter.

Wine and cheese tasting party with lots of fancy crackers. Decorations should be classic with linen tablecloths, crystal, china, silver, etc.

A 70's costume party which would have an emphasis on the birthday person's hay-day. Or opt for another era like the roaring 20's, fabulous 50's, etc.

A Murder Mystery party where all of the guests come in costume to coincide with the theme, but you hire actors to act out the murder story. They will draw in your guests during the evening into the murder and help them to become a part of solving the crime.

Well, that's all I have for now. Have a wonderful time planning the party. I know the planning stage can be quite a bit of fun and doing things around the birthday recipient without he or she knowing, only adds to the drama and intrigue, and ultimately the got-cha! Have a great time!

birthday party ideas? places to go, what to do?

Jesus Shav

so I'm having a sweet 16 and I want to have a big party, but I don't have any good ideas on what to do! I was thinking rock climbing, but there are no places to rock climb where I live! any ideas? thanks!
ummmm... I don't have that much money

Answer
Okay, I JUST had my Sweet Sixteen party 2 weeks ago, and this is what I did:

Venue: Rented a really nice hall with a 75 person capacity for $70/hour for 5 hours.

Invitations: I made the invitations myself using photoshop (Google "sweet sixteen" and lots of cool banners and things come up) And printed them off on glossy paper at Staples.

Food: I ordered a bunch of pizzas, made two big pans of pasta, a huge salad, chicken strips, and had lots of chips. (Food that everyone likes, but an upgrade from hot dogs and hamburgers). Also take into consideration themed cups, napkins, plates, utensils, etc.

music: I DJed my own party by getting giant speakers from my dad's work, but you can probably ask around for a sound system (relatives, friends, etc might lend you one) and then make a party playlist on an ipod and put it on shuffle. If someone wants a certain song, they can put it on themselves (my friends prefered this to a DJ because they had more control and variety).

Games: Coincidentally my party was also candyland themed! The game we played was that we had these medium sized gumball machines, and we gave one to each table to play hot potato with (i.e. play the music, when the music stops, the person holding it is out, last person standing gets to keep the gumball machine). My friends totally loved this!

Limo: Do you really need a limo? Arent you gonna go there early to set up anyways?

Cake: I would suggest making your own cake, as store bought cakes are EXTREMELY overpriced. Make a 2 or 3 layered cake and cover it in fondant to make it look fancy. Then make a giant bow out of icing for the top! (Google or YouTube how, its pretty easy). The result is the same, but its sooo much cheaper!

Party Favours: I made chocolate covered Oreos. Cutest things ever, but pretty inexpensive to make. Buy a template at a cake decorating store and simply fill the template with melted chocolate, and insert the oreo, the when you pop it out you have an oreo with a cute chocolate design on it. Put these into a pretty party bag, tie it with a bow, and put a tag on the bow that says "[Your Name]'s Sweet Sixteen!" or something.

All and all, this would cost about:
Venue: $350
Invites: $10-15
Food: $250
Music: FREE
Games: gunball machines are about $6 each at Walmart, assuming you have about 8 tables =$48
Cake: Homemade = ~$65, Store bought= ~$300
Party Favours: after buying all the supplies, about $0.50 each. (so for about 70 people, $30)

TOTAL PARTY: $756 (but if you buy your cake, just under $1000)

What are some idea's for a high maintenance teenagers birthday party for turning 15?

well i'll be turning 15 on February 11th, and i have no idea on what to do. People always call me high maintenance, but i don't think i am. The past 3 years for my birthday i rented a hotel room and invited my friends to party there. I had fun at the hotel but i don't wanna do the same thing for four years in a row.I also want to have a fun theme to my birthday. Any ideas?

Answer
How about a black and white party? If possible, hold it at your home or a friend's home. If that won't work, then look into renting a facility. Since your parents will be saving money on the hotel rental, perhaps they would be willing to put it into fantabulous decorations to make your party pop!

A black and white party brings all of the elegance, glitz, and glamour of a Hollywood party, but with a slight twist. For your party to be successful, everything must be black, white, or both. You also must make sure that your guests comply with your dress code and that your decorations support your color scheme. You can also add silver to the mix for accent purposes.

To really do it up right, have your invitations professionally done. Black ink on white cards with a black satin bow. That way, they will set the tone of the evening. Be sure to tell your guests to wear formal attire and dress only in black and white, with silver jewelry. Also, tell everyone to bring black sunglasses for a great group photo.

As your guests arrive, have a black and white carpet-lined sidewalk greet them. Carpet liquidators are a great option for finding remnants that might work.

Cover your furniture with a mixture of black and white fabrics.

Create ambiance by covering your walls with nets of white lights. To camouflage the lights, cover them with sheer black and white fabrics.

For this type of party, you will want to serve either an elegant buffet or a formal dinner. Be sure to have a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit as a centerpiece on one of your tables. All of your serving dishes, utensils, and candlesticks should be black, white or silver.

Cover your tables with black tablecloths and white toppers or vice versa. Sprinkle with black, white, or silver star-shaped confetti.

Cover side tables with black tablecloths. Then lay white Christmas lights on top of the cloth and cover the lights with a piece of glass. Conclude with a sheer piece of black fabric. Add a vase of flowers, along with shaped mirrors, floating candles in decorative containers and scatter star-shaped confetti and glitter on the tabletops.

Cover your ceiling with black and white twisted streamers and clusters of balloons with curling ribbons cascaling downward.

Enjoy your youth and have a wonderful and memorable 15th birthday!

What are some good birthday party ideas fro 12 year olds girls turning 13?

I am looking for some good ideas for a 12 year old girl turning 13. She doesn't want a theme. She just wants some plans. For intense, pizza a movie and the mall. Also what are some invitation plans?
thank u every1. oh and my birthday is in december.

Answer
Okay, so a teenager...
Well, instead of going to the movies, I would rent in and have like massive boxes of popcorn for everyone. And then after the movie, you can camp outside in a tent and tell spooky/scary stories. (It's soo fun!).
Or...
You could just like chill, maybe go to the movies. Walk around the shops and look at clothes. You could even give everyone say $10.00 - $15.00 and you can buy clothes.

But... What is so fun, a whipped cream fight!!!! I LOVE those. I highly recommend for everyone to try them. And the amazing photos you get with them LOL

I was wondering what kind of software/tools would I need to get to be able to make mainly kid's birthday party invitations. I would like to be able to incorporate characters... and also the childs picture wherever I want on the invitation. Would software would give me the ability to do so?

Answer
Adobe InDesign, It is basically the leading program for designing. Although, i have to worn you it is very expensive, and if you want to include photos then you might want to Adobe Photoshop, which is also expensive.

Although if your crafty and resourceful enough, you might be able to pull it off in Microsoft Word, It wouldn't be as well done if you did it in InDesign but it might be able to get a simple, basic, crude, ordinary design from it

Help planning my 15th birthday party?? best answer gets 10 points?

Ally

My birthday is coming up and I need help planning it. I'm going to have a scavenger hunt & i'm trying to figure out what the final destination should be. Either a hotel, or this cool forest place where theres a "glamping" place with tents and stuff. I'm really girly, and never camp so i was thinking the idea of glam-camping would be fun. Which one do you think would be more fun? I'm inviting around 24 girls. If you think I should do glamping, how would you suggest I set it up for the # of girls?

Answer
I would say go somewhere cool. Like skyzone or something like that, and then go somewhere cool for dinner

my son is really getting into superhereos and everything and all his toys are now batman and supreman and well u get the point, i was thinking about birthday party themes for him, i always try to have everything for him(he's my only child and very spoiled) but i really liked the idea of asking the parents to dress thier child up for the party. i was gunna write in the invitation something cute and clever like please join our birthday boy and dress as your favorite super hero. My son is gunna 4 years old and we have alot of family and friends with children that range from 1 to 6 would this be approriate to ask the parents to dress thier kids? his birthdday is in sept so the costumes could be used for halloween as well then. i know it's very early to be thinking about but, i shop little by little so i just wanna get ideas and be creative?

Would it be approiate to ask parents to dress thier child in a superhero outfit for my son's 4th birthday?

if anyone has any other creative ideas please let me know. thanks so much
thanks for all the answers so far, my son has been a superhero each year thanks to my husband so i think i will leave some customes out just in case but as i read answers i guess it could get expensive but i don't mean that a full costume is fully required either, i really wanna have my son fully costumed and he will probably wear that for halloween but maybe just a superhero shirt or sumthing would be cute as well. and finding lil capes and mask would be cute thanks for that idea as well, i just dnt want any kid left out, but i want the kids to really enjoy themselves, and our family is mostly boys and most all into batman supreman transformers.

how would you word it on an invition?

(customes would be great, but a shirt or just a cape is great as well and if not thats ok too)

Answer
I like the idea of saying something to the effect of "feel free to dress as your favorite superhero" - that way, no one feels obligated, but kids can still do it if they want to! I do agree that assuming that the costumes could be used for Halloween is a nice theory, but my daughter doesn't even know who most superheros are, and probably would cry if I told her she had to dress as one for Halloween because we bought the costume to wear to a birthday party.
However, I think you should try to either find cheap capes and half-masks, or make your own (there is a cute website describing how to make superhero capes for kids linked below). That way, everyone has the same one - you won't have kids feeling badly that they didn't get to dress up, and the kids won't compare (my Superman costume is better than your Batman costume, etc.).
That being said, I actually think it's a super fun idea, and I would not be offended in the slightest if someone sent my daughter an invitation to a superhero party that invited the kids to wear a costume, if they wish.

What should I get my best friend for her birthday?

lalalaa...

Ok, so I have to do some last minute shopping online for my best friends birthday party which is tonight. She gave out the invitations 3 days ago and i've been busy so don't accuse me of waiting until the last minute. I have to order something online and give her a picture and tell her that her present didn't arrive yet. She plays soccer (she doesn't watch it though), she loves the hunger games, batman, nail polish, Josh Hutcherson, Christian Bale, Leonardo Dicaprio, shes turning 14, and i desperately need help, I'm on a time limit, so please answer quick, and with links if you can! Thanks!

Answer
Okay, so if she likes soccer, then I guess you should order something from the hunger games clothing line. Here's the site:
http://shop.cafepress.com/hungergamesmovie?utm_campaign=hunger%20games%20-%20us&utm_content=search-e&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=hunger%20games%20clothing%20line&utm_source=google
and buy some nail polish. I think you can get the nail polish today (if possible) and give her that today, and surprise her with the ordered gift.

pink roses, like in Bella's birthday?
A cd containing songs from Meyer's playlists
"pin the tail on the Jacob" -as a werewolf-
have sparkles! lots of sparkles. for party favours, body glitter, an apple, red string, a chess piece, the bracelet is a good idea...
bella x edward/jacob written on the cake? or the red ribbon, or something on the cover of the books.
have chess boards lieing around, the breaking dawn cover
for games.... guessing which character said this quote? the fill in the quote idea is good too, or charading a scene that happened in one of the books
invitations, the script for edward's Be Safe would be nice... sort of old fashioned style? perhaps at the end of the invite put be safe? lol

What party could we have for our daughters soon to be 5?? ?

Danii Nich

Our daughter is 5 in january.. we have hired a hall & booking a dj, face painter and balloon modling.. ive got to order a cake but unsure what themes too have..
She has already had a 4 birthday themes
1- pink party (everything pink)
2- peppa pig
3- sealife
4- princess

We have now got ideas of minnie mouse, barbie, pink and sparkles.. any ideas pls help we havent really got a budget???

Answer
I think it really depends on what your daughter is interested in. My friend's had a Princess party for their daughter for her first birthday, and then this year they had a Rock Star party because she LOVES music. The invitations looked like concert tickets, and everyone was supposed to come in their best "rock star" clothes. It was a lot of fun, especially considering it was a 2 year old's party!

If your daughter is really into Minnie or Barbie, go with one of those. If she likes animals or Disney or anything else, maybe theme it around that? It's her party, what does she love?

And that's for food, decorations, etc
Sure! mine's April 6th!

Answer
Have a sleepover! Make invitations and thank you notes that have a spa theme. You'll need hair stuff, face masks, cool cucumber slices, towels, nail polish, nail files, and giant bowls (Bath and Body Works will be a big help). Ask the girls to bring their bathrobes, toothbrushes, pajamas, and favorite CDs. Play the CDs and take turns painting each other's nails and giving massages. Give out little favor bags with nail polish, samples of face masks, ponytail holders, and a little bottle of perfume.
