I'm a girl, and I have a pretty tight budget, and absolutely no idea what to do for a birthday party in August. My group of friends usually likes doing things more than sitting around and relaxing. Problem is, last time I tried to throw a party which involved going to a water park, only 1 or 2 people actually paid the 15 dollars for themselves, and I had to pay the other 70 or so dollars out of my own pocket. Any ideas?
Please note that there is a TIGHT budget here.

Answer
The Formal Party
Since adulthood is veering around the corner, many kids this age will appreciate a birthday party that beckons upon this premise. Formal birthday parties are actually rather easily thrown. Create formal invitations that require an RSVP. A hired catering company that will provide a menu is also advised--this way you can even ask guests on the invitations what their menu choices will be. Most local hotels will offer smaller ballrooms that you can rent for a decent bargain. You can even set up tables with fancy drinks like sparkling cider and juices, which mimic a real cocktail bar. A hired band that performs songs all night or a DJ for dancing and some fancy decorations will net you a formal birthday party that your teenager won't soon forget.

Rock and Roll Birthday Party
Perhaps one of the more popular of birthday party ideas for teenagers is a rock and roll birthday. Your best bet is to find out if they have any friends who are in local bands that they really like. You can easily hire these local bands for pretty cheap and get them to play at your home in your backyard. Make sure that you acquire a live music permit from your local authorities so that your party does not get shut down.

Flashy rock themes include the birthday cake--you can even decorate a print-on cake with their favorite rock band on the frosting; all you need is a picture. Include free music download cards in your party teasers and create invitations that look like real concert tickets that you tear at the door as guests enter.

Video Game Themed Birthday Party
Most teenagers love video games--even girls these days are playing more and more video games. One of the more popular varieties of these video games are games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Set up a video game console in the living room and hold showdowns to see can rock out harder. Cool invitations can resemble game controllers and attendees can be encouraged to purchase video game-related gifts for the birthday kid. Offer a prize for the winner of a video game showdown.

I got an invitation for my friend's surprise 16th birthday party and on the card it says "RSVP:" and then a phone number. I got the invite maybe at like the beginning of february and the party is about a month from now... did i wait too long? is it too late to call? what should i say when calling?

Answer
It is not too late to call. A month in advance is just fine.

Call and ask for the person you're supposed to ask for. Say, " This is Mary Smith and I am calling to thank you for the invitation to Jenny's birthday party. It sounds like a lot of fun and I plan to attend. (Or "it sounds like a lot of fun but unfortunately I have a prior engagement so I will not be able to attend)."

Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party?

Erin

I'm having an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party for my 14th birthday. I googled it and it didn't come up with much. I'm thinking for the invitations, I'll take a small bottle, roll up the invite, put it in the bottle and put "read me" on the bottle. if anyone has ideas about food games or decorations, that would be great. Thanks!

Answer
you can have your drinks marked as ''drink me'' and you can bake snacks that say ''eat me'' you can dine like how the mad hatter does. switch places all the time.....and you can even have that race..what was it called again??? the cacus rae was it?? where everyone runs in different directions. this sounds crazy but you could also have a petting zoo, let loose if your having it in your back yard maybe. like chickens, rabbits, lambs, and piglets....all running around.
loads of ballons.....
for games you could try this one... play really loud music....place team A in one corner and team B in another corner .... team A has a list on nonsensical sentences.... and they should read the sentences out loud to team B, while the Bs try to write the sentences down.... each member should have a different list...and each member in B their own writing utensils. and example of a nonsensical sentence could be ''it rains when clouds are pink'' ''my father's brother's daughter is five foot three'' all this should be done while loud music is playing....

Need help on throwing a 3yr old girl a redskins themed bday party?

camping themed party ideas for kids image

My daughter is turning 3 on the first and we are having a party
on superbowl weekend and she loves the redskins. "Daddys
girl" and I need ideas on decorating and games. Any ideas
please:) There will be 12 children total including her and and about 20 adults. Again any ideas

Answer
get a photo cake made at the grocery store of a good Redskins pic or logo you printed out from online
decorate in all red, gold and white
serve tailgating type foods- burgers, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad, etc
play a indoor football game- make a small table top goal post, have the kids flick (with their fingres) a paper football into the goal for prizes
make a table cloth or floor covering to look like a football field (just paint a piece of canvas or a old sheet)
try to get some big rolls of brown paper and paint it to look like people sitting in a stadium- hang it all the way around the room- all you'll have to paint is little heads and faces in the stands
I saw this- thought it was cute! http://www.elifesize.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=eLifesize&Product_Code=704&Category_Code=standin
have everyone dress in favorite team clothes (even if not Redskins) or anything football related
paint the black stuff under their eyes if they are old enough
your husband can dress like a ref and you a cheerleader
have little pom pons for the kids to cheer with, maybe some whistles (wait....maybe not- that might be a bad thing to give hyper kids!) maybe just you (or the ref!) can have one to blow to annonce whats going on next
arrange a "training camp" for the kids to do- like run through rings (like how they run through tires), get a blow up football player they have to tackle, have them throw a football into a cut out of a football player or a ring of some sort....whatever you think they can handle.
if weather permitting in your area you can have the adults play a flag football game and have all the kids cheer you on
football trivia for the adults and easier questions for the kids
you can gove the kids little favor bags with granola bars and small gatorades in them, press on tattoos of football stuff, stickers, mini helmets, football pencils/erasers, whatever you find football related
have the kids make a craft http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADBR_enUS203US203&q=football+crafts

I am looking for unique first birthday ideas. My son is turning one in September, and since it will be mostly?

Melissa Yo

I am looking for unique first birthday ideas. My son is turning one in September, and since it will be mostly adult friends at the party, i am looking for something that is not cutesy and cheesy! Any ideas or ideas of places to look for crafty ideas? thanks.

Answer
What about a camp theme? It isn't too cutesy, and there are lots of fun ways to make it perfect for adults.

The color scheme is easy - green and brown for the woods. There are some new camping theme paper goods available as well - http://www.birthdayexpress.com/browse/_/N-i/Ntt-camp/results1.aspx?AID=10645522&PID=1151654

Serve "camp food", hot dogs, kool aid, granola/trail mix, smores (yum!) and popcorn.

Lanterns and small branches from trees in vases are fun decorations. Wildflowers are great too. Set out any forest themed stuffed animal you have...bears, owls, foxes. Throw a few pinecones around for good measure. Set up one of those fake flame torches (sold usually for Halloween) on the buffet and surround it with wood for a fake fire!

Have a fire if you can (September should be perfect weather for it).

Play good camp music. Almost anything by Bob Denver is great. Or get an audio recording of ghost stories!

Have a camping theme movie playing on the tv - Ernest Goes to Camp, Daddy Day Camp, The Great Outdoors, Meatballs are a few to choose from

Have everyone leave messages for your son to read when he is older by signing something with a camp theme... a canoe paddle, a camp t-shirt, a duffle bag.

Party favors are easy - inexpensive items like whistles, compasses, travel sized bug sprays or sunscreen, flashlights. They work for the theme and are useful too!

We have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Camp theme party. You'll have to adapt some of the ideas but it has more decoration and favor ideas in it.http://www.party411.com/PlanYourParty/Occasion/BarBatMitzvah/LetsgotoCamp.aspx

We have several more kid's birthday themes here if you'd rather do something different, adults would probably enjoy bowling, circus, outerspace and cowboy too

I need themes, or anything, any fun games to do at a party, invitations, food, etc, she is NOT a girly girl. She is not a tomboy either, like in between. I need help, her birthday is in January.
thanks, and I do have a WII! :)

Answer
Depending on where you live (or rather, if it is cold enough where you live)...

- Skating (Maybe you could do outdoor skating at night, then come back to your place for pizza, and maybe a movie and a sleepover?)

- Same thing as above except for tobogganing instead of skating.

And then, there are always the classics...

- Movie theater, then a sleepover.

- At home spa (but since you have mentioned that she is not that much of a girly girl, this might not be the greatest.)

- Rock climbing (this is great, especially if she's athletic. Lots of my friends have done this)

I remember when I was younger, my mom would take us to random fun places for my birthday parties. I think when I was 10, we went to an indoor roller skating park. When I was 11, we went to a trampolining place where they taught us how to do tricks and flips on the trampolines (this was probably my most fun birthday party ever! I would definitely recommend it.)
Also, when my friend was turning 11, we went to this place where you paint your own ceramic cups, places, bowls, etc., and then they put them in the oven for you and you get to take them home. That was fun.

As for food, it kind of depends on the number of kids that there are going to be. If you're going to be feeding a crowd, like 10+ kids, then I would recommend something simple like pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc., or else it can get kind of expensive (if you go to a restaurant), or time consuming (if you're going to cook yourself).

However, if you are going to be having only a few kids, then you could splurge a little bit and take them out to a restaurant, since it won't be as expensive. I would recommend Montana's, Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet, pretty much any of those family restaurants.

Also, if you're going to have a sleepover (which I would highly recommend, 11 year old girls love them, regardless of weather or not the are girly girls), make sure you have tons of snacks. I would recommend chips, cookies, pop, pretty much whatever she wants. Don't worry about all the sugar, afterall, this only happens once a year :)

Games... hmmmm. Pinyata, musical chairs, board games.

For invitations, my mom used to always make them on the computer using some simple graphic design program. It's not that difficult at all. Just include the basic information, and put some pretty pictures.

birthday party ideas? places to go, what to do?

so I'm having a sweet 16 and I want to have a big party, but I don't have any good ideas on what to do! I was thinking rock climbing, but there are no places to rock climb where I live! any ideas? thanks!
ummmm... I don't have that much money

Answer
Okay, I JUST had my Sweet Sixteen party 2 weeks ago, and this is what I did:

Venue: Rented a really nice hall with a 75 person capacity for $70/hour for 5 hours.

Invitations: I made the invitations myself using photoshop (Google "sweet sixteen" and lots of cool banners and things come up) And printed them off on glossy paper at Staples.

Food: I ordered a bunch of pizzas, made two big pans of pasta, a huge salad, chicken strips, and had lots of chips. (Food that everyone likes, but an upgrade from hot dogs and hamburgers). Also take into consideration themed cups, napkins, plates, utensils, etc.

Music: I DJed my own party by getting giant speakers from my dad's work, but you can probably ask around for a sound system (relatives, friends, etc might lend you one) and then make a party playlist on an ipod and put it on shuffle. If someone wants a certain song, they can put it on themselves (my friends prefered this to a DJ because they had more control and variety).

Games: Coincidentally my party was also candyland themed! The game we played was that we had these medium sized gumball machines, and we gave one to each table to play hot potato with (i.e. play the music, when the music stops, the person holding it is out, last person standing gets to keep the gumball machine). My friends totally loved this!

Limo: Do you really need a limo? Arent you gonna go there early to set up anyways?

Cake: I would suggest making your own cake, as store bought cakes are EXTREMELY overpriced. Make a 2 or 3 layered cake and cover it in fondant to make it look fancy. Then make a giant bow out of icing for the top! (Google or YouTube how, its pretty easy). The result is the same, but its sooo much cheaper!

Party Favours: I made chocolate covered Oreos. Cutest things ever, but pretty inexpensive to make. Buy a template at a cake decorating store and simply fill the template with melted chocolate, and insert the oreo, the when you pop it out you have an oreo with a cute chocolate design on it. Put these into a pretty party bag, tie it with a bow, and put a tag on the bow that says "[Your Name]'s Sweet Sixteen!" or something.

All and all, this would cost about:
Venue: $350
Invites: $10-15
Food: $250
Music: FREE
Games: gunball machines are about $6 each at Walmart, assuming you have about 8 tables =$48
Cake: Homemade = ~$65, Store bought= ~$300
Party Favours: after buying all the supplies, about $0.50 each. (so for about 70 people, $30)

TOTAL PARTY: $756 (but if you buy your cake, just under $1000)

What are some fun activities for a campout birthday party theme?

Alyssa Cla

My daughter is 3 years old in June and we decided on a camp out party theme. I am looking for some ideas on activities to do with the kids. There will be more adults than kids at the party, but I would still like to have activities that both adults and kids can do that relate to the theme. Thanks in advance!

Answer
You could do a scavenger hunt, flash light tag, s'mores, have jars so the kids can catch fireflies, tell spooky stories (age appropriate), make up camp fire songs.

My soon to be 4 year old has asked for a "pinata" birthday party. I am looking for ideas for everything from cake and food to decor and games. I do not just want to do a mexican fiesta theme, I was thinking more like colorful and breakable stuff. Like pop rocks in the treat bags and colorful water balloons to toss. Thanks!

Answer
The Women's Weekly have a fantastic pinata cake. Here is the recipe:
http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/food/cookingtips/784280/party-pi-241-ata-cake
And what it looks like when its smashed.
http://favetreats.blogspot.com/2008/08/pinata-cake-i-made-this-cake-for-good.html

These invitations are cute and would be easy to make yourself:
http://blowoutparty.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=316&zenid=d3cc644d2d1fa111ce8b2e01f8ab6a4d

These are gorgeous too:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/72272091/fiesta-pinata-birthday-party-invitation

Party poppers could be fun and you a could do a game that involves balloon popping:

although hiding small prizes or messages inside the balloons would make it more interesting.

Sounds like a fun party!

Having invitations printed through Walmart or Target?

Rachel

I'm ordering Invitations for a party through Etsy. I'll receive a PDF form of the invitation, but I have to arrange to have the invites printed myself. I've seen some listings on Etsy mention getting the pdf invitations printed through photo centers at stores like Walmart or Target, but I have NO idea how this works!! Any explanations would be extremely helpful. Thankyou! xx :)

Answer
If you have a flashcard reader on your computer (or printer, even). You would plug in the flash card into the reader, on the computer the cards shows up like a hard drive icon that you can double-click. The resulting open window you would drag your invite.pdf file into there.

Otherwise, Esty is just another eBay. Walmart and Target only offer photo-cards or greeting card templates, i.e. Christmas cards, Happy Birthday, etc. You can save yourself some money by calling Kinkos (now FedEx Center) or even local print shops to see if they accept .PDF files either by flashcards or by internet.

We're looking for a Little Einstein birthday cake and can't find one anywhere. We're thinking of having a bakery design a cake using action figures we found, but we can't find rocket. If anyone has seen a small rocket figure (maybe around 3-6 inches) or an actual Little Einstein's cake, please let me know. Am also looking for Little Einstein balloons and any other party supplies. So far, we've only found the invitations, thank yous, plates, cups, banners, napkins, and stickers.

You can order the party supplies from Target online http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-1037609-7793716?asin=B000GIB58M&afid=yahoossplp&lnm=B000GIB58M|Baby_Einstein_1st_Birthday_Deluxe_Party_Kit&ref=tgt_adv_XSMG1060
The cake you might find at wal-mart's bakery, they have all kinds of decorations in their book of themes that they always keep next to the cake counter.

You could try to get the action figures like these and put them onto the cake http://www.toywiz.com/einsteins.html

How soon should I send out surprise birthday party invitations?

sundance_0

I am throwing a small surprise party for my boyfriend's 30th birthday party July 26. It's going to be at our apartment's community room. I am worried that if I send out the invites too soon that people may forget about the party, but if I send them out too late that people may already have plans!

Also, is it appropriate to ask people to bring a dish to pass? I plan on having a main dish and some snacks and beverages of course, but he has a big family :)

Answer
During the summer months, people's weekends fill up quickly! Send them out at least a month in advance. Once they get the invite and let you know they're coming they won't forget! I wouldn't wait any less, summer weekends fill up quick, I would do it by the at least the 1st of July.

You can always ask certain people to bring a dish, but I wouldn't put that on the invite. Can you talk to his family and your family and friends? I wouldn't ask everyone that you're inviting to bring something, but I would talk to his family and your family and friends to see if they can pitch in and help you. There's nothing wrong in asking his parents and siblings and your family.

Give them a call and ask, and when other people call you to rsvp, when they ask if they can bring anything, that's your chance! Ask them if they mind bringing something, just make sure you keep track of who's bringing what so you don't have too many of one thing and nothing of something else.

I hope this helps!

Birthday party ideas for teen girls?

I'm having a birthday party and I need some ideas for what to do.
I'm in high school; most of my friends are freshmen or sophomores.
I'm planning to rent a movie, and I would appreciate ideas for that too.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
Renting a movie is a great idea- it's always a crowd pleaser. I would just make sure you get a couple of them and then let people choose which one they want to watch when they get there, that way you don't have any unhappy guests.
Here are some movie ideas:
Comedy:
Juno
Legally Blond
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
In Her Shoes
Baby Mama
Sad:
P.S. I love U- (My friends and I cried at this for hours)
Horror:
Prom Night
Haunting in Connectiut
Haunting of Molly Hartley
I hope these helped!

Here are some other party ideas:
Hawaiian Lou ou (I did this one for my 12th, and even though I was only in middle school it was soooooooooooo much fun! You can get flower leighs and decorate to look like the beach, u no... with palm trees and that sort of thing. Serve snacks in beach buckets with small sand shovels for serving spoons. Have everyone come dressed up, like as hula dancers or as surfers. Then give prizes to the best costumes! For dinner, serve kabbobs and juice served in coconuts. You can even download some hawaiian stuff off of itunes. This is waaaaay fun for everyone, and you can get the decorations and stuff from pretty much any party shop.)

Back Yard Camping Trip- (I used this one last year. It was awesome! I set up a tent in the backyard, and then we did a weenie roast and had burgers on the grill for dinner. I used the outdoor fireplace, and we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. I got some songs off of itunes for the thing, and then we watched a movie on my portable DVD player in the tent that night. It was a great time. WE also played flashlight tag and told scary stories in the tent. You can do pretty much any kind of cake and icecream u want, and hardly any decorations are needed. Just make sure you buy plenty of bug spray- trust me, you'll need it.)

Bowling Party- (Okay... it sounds dorky, but its actually really fun. I've never had one, but my friend did, and it was soooooooo awesome. Most bowling alleys have a special birthday party room with like seven lanes and a free arcade. This is fun because u don't have to do any setting up and u can bowl or just hang out with your friends all night. U can have gaming tournaments- most places have like a pool table or a fooseball table or something- or just hang out and talk or whatever. Also, u can invite a lot of people without having to do ANY clean up whatsoever. This one never gets old.)

Girlz Night In- (Sleepovers r always a win-win situation. They're foolproof. There are endless things to do. Makeovers, spa treatments, movies, group games, and an endless snack bar are just a few ideas. For group games, u can do things like truth or dare, or firehouse. There's a great book I know for spa treatments, it's called the Klutz Body Book. It has things like face masks, scrubs, steams, and toners that you can make, body salts, soaks, pore invigorators, and lotions. It comes with mini botanical oil bottles, for you to make your own all- natural spa treatments- it even has a recipe for a fun spa drink!- u can't lose with this book. Makovers are always fun- makeover ur friends to look hot or just totally gothic, it's up to u! Just a tip- people never stop being hungry at a sleepover, and it's likely you'll be up till way past midnight, so stock up on the junkfood.)

Here are some other party theme ideas that I don't know so much about, but I've heard that they're fun:
*Pool Party
*Dance Party
*Cooking Party
*Project Runway Party (I don't know if you've heard of the show- it's a designing competition and for this party I guess that you could have your guests design things for prizes- sounds fun.)
*BBQ (Always fun, and easy.)
*Out to dinner (ask ur friends what foods they like first- that way there's something on the menu for everyone)
*Hollywood Party (Have ur friends dress to impress. Unroll a red carpet and videotape them as they arrive, looking stunning. Watch the video later with them and give awards for the best outfits.)
*Stay in a Hotel (The price for this one would probably be pretty steep, but u can trash the hotel room and not have to worry about picking up. Splurge on room service and video games and stay up all night long.)

I hope this helped! Birthdays r special, so don't blow them off. Think about them. A lot.

My sister is turning 12 and it going to rain on her Camp out birthday party. What should she do inside?

Abbey

She was supposed to have a camp out, but it is going to rain so she needs some party ideas to do inside.

Answer
Indoor camping! You can make smores, tell scary stories, sleep in a real tent in sleeping bags lol. No electricity whatsoever, it'll be like you're really outside. And get like an animal sounds at night CD with like crickets chirping and you can fall asleep listening to that if it's a sleepover.

Photoshop and some of the better free graphics editor with the right plug-ins will allow you to set up writing text on a curve. Best to read the tutorials first.

So my birthday is on October 19th and im planning on having a party. i want really cool invitations though, something crazy . I want invitations like they have on my super sweet sixteen on MTV. So if any of you have any ideas please write them. BEST ONE GETS THE MOST POINTS POSSIBLE,!

Answer
i'm planning my sweet sixteen party too.
me and my best friend are having ours together because our birthdays are 2 weeks apart.
i'm a girl and he's a guy, so it has to be like, not girly but not stupid boyish.. haha

so we decided our invitations should look like fake concert tickets, and have all this stuff typed on there that concert tickets would say but have our party info on it.
if you go on google and type in concert ticket generator, a bunch will pop up!
hope this helped!
have an amazing birthday!

Answer
I would go with pink and black colors, polka dots, poodles, and a poster or pic of the eiffel tower. Some cute decorations like hat boxes, boas, berets, and pretty high heels. My daughter is in 4th grade and had an adorable birthday party with these. The girls loved it!! :)

Fun Party Ideas For a 12 Year Old Girl?

Nikki Jai

My daughter is turning twelve soon so we are trying to come up with a fun party idea. Last year she went bowling and this year I offered to have it at my home. There will be 10-20 girls there. We are still deciding on if it will be a sleepover or not. What did you do for your 12th birthday party or what are you planning to do? We are trying to stay under $200.00, but we will go up about $25 more. Should we have it at home or somewhere else? My daughter isn't really into make-up, but loves spas. She is a real girly-girl. Thanks so much!

Answer
How about a girly-girl slumber party? Here are some suggestions:

Invitations:
-Print your party details in large block letters on clean, white pillowcases. Fold them and send them in manila envelopes.
-Mail your invitations along with a small teddy bear or stuffed animal for your guests to bring to the party.
-Punch a hole in the corner of a card-style invitation and attach it to a new toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. Your guests can bring these items with them to the party! Mail your invites in padded envelopes.
-Here's an invite idea.
Are you ready for some giggles and gossip?
Maybe some pizza, and some chips and dip?
Then come to Ella's party and bring your pj's,
'Cause it's going to be fun in so many ways!

Decorations:
-Streamers and tulle around the room
-Glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling
-Pillows, sleeping bags, and blankets around the room
-Popular music that your guests can dance to (like Super Bass and Pop by NSYNC)
-White twinkle lights around the perimeter of the ceiling

Food at night:
-Funny Face Bagels. Spread cream cheese on bagels then decorate with jelly in a squeeze tube.
-Relaxing Refreshments. Soda, strawberry milk, and juice with silly straws would work.
-Popcorn Passing. Give everyone a bag of popcorn and pass around the flavors such as powdered cheese or barbecue powder.

Food in the morning (breakfast):
-Smiley Face Pancakes. Decorate pancakes with toppings such as whipped cream, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, finely chopped nuts, blueberries, and more to make them look like Smiley Faces.
-Waffles. Let your guests choose their own waffle toppings such as cherries, whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate chips, and nuts.
-Fruit Pops. Slide sections of fruit, such as pineapple, banana, strawberries, and grapes onto a wooden skewer and serve.

Games and activities:
-Make your own scrapbooks. Provide the paper, coloring materials, beads, buttons, stickers, and more.
-Play the traditional party game Telephone.
-Name That Tune. Give each guest a chance to pick 5 songs from YouTube and let the others guess. After three rounds, the winner gets a unique prize.
-Play the traditional party game Flashlight Tag.
-Bake cupcakes with your guests. After that, have a cupcake decorating contest! Provide the cream, sprinkles, chocolates, and more.
-Create a fun scavenger hunt for your guests.
-Like what you mentioned, setting up spa-themed activities or beauty stations would be good. How about a mani-pedi station--or a hair perm station? :)
-Watch fun chick flicks such as:
The Notebook
Monte Carlo
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Princess Diaries
Ella Enchanted
Aquamarine
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Never Been Kissed
The Princess Bride
A Cinderella Story

-How about other cool movies?
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Nanny McPhee
Harry Potter
High School Musical
Hugo
Lemonade Mouth
The Secret Garden
Diary of A Wimpy Kid
Titanic
The Ring
Paranormal Activity

Favors:
-Pillowcases
-Lotion, lip gloss, and nail polish
-Candy
-Stickers
-Costume jewelry

Hope it helped! XDD

Ideas for a Cinderella themed 5 year old birthday party?

peace*love

Hi! I am running my mom's friend's daughter's 5 year old birthday party next saturday. I'm 13 and I'm doing it with the help of my best friend. We need some ideas for games and activities 5 year olds might like playing that have to do with cinderella. We are going to show off the birthday girl's dance she made up to "Bibbidi Bobbodi Boo" and do their hair all pretty for sure.

Answer
Invatations.

You can find cheap Cinderella invatations on Ebay.
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A2471&_nkw=Cinderella+invitations&_dmpt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&_nkwusc=Cinderella+invatations&_rusck=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1

If there blank inside create your own message saying something like "You are cordially invited to a Royal Celebration for ______ Birthday"

Decor.

The colors of choice are icy blue, pink, lavender and white.
Cover the tables white or pink table cloths and icy blue table runners. (or vice versa)
Sprinkle blue, pink and silver sequins, candies or beads down the center. Use frosted cupcakes place in a cupcake stand, as your centerpiece with helium balloons.
If you can cover the chairs in white chair back && blue ribbons (in a bow)
Silver Balloons && streamers.
Possibly a balloon arch by the enterance? or a home made castle gate?
(if you have time) Attempt to make a large castle. (Link below says how)
Lots of twinkling lights (even use last years xmas lights)
Bubble machine?
Put bottles of bubbles the kids can blow at the tables.

Games.

Dress your birthday princess up before the party, with a Cinderella tiara and jewelry. Announce the guests upon arrival and escort them to the royal preparation table, where they will receive a small amount of lipstick, blush and eye shadow. If you have not already suggested the girls wear their favorite dress-up dress...provide a box of special dress up clothes and a mirror.

Face Painting.

The fairy Godmother has lost her magic wand!
Before the party hide toy wands in the party area.
The object of the game is to find a wand before the clock strikes twelve. Give the girls an appropriate amount of time to find a wand and then begin striking a bell twelve times.

Play classical music or the soundtrack from Cinderella while the girls dance. When the girls here the clock chime (bell), they must freeze

Cinderella colouring in.

Before the party, write the names of Cinderella characters on several 3x5 cards; stepmother, step sisters, prince, fairy godmother...
To play, tape the cards onto the girls backs, so that they cannot see their own character. The object of the game is to identify who is on your back, by asking yes/no questions of the other players.
Example:
Am I a girl ? Boy? Am I nice?
Do I have magical powers?

Hope this helps!

Have fun!

It's his 40th surprise birthday party. I want the invitation to be themed with MMA.

Answer
Send octagon shaped invitations with the number 40 in the middle. Look at the cards the ring girls hold up to signify which round it is for some inspiration.

In the inside spatter some red food coloring (dip a small paintbrush in it and flick it at the paper) after you print the invitation.

Make sure you are wearing a sports bra and boy-shorts to the party (like a ring girl), and you need to blow the guests lots of kisses.

If any of the guests tries to get touchy with you, a rear naked choke is a polite way to say "no" and it doesn't leave marks.

What should I do for my 16th birthday party?

Jvdgbv25

I'm a girl and want to have a good 16th birthday party. I've had good ones before, but I want this one to be really good. Do you have any ideas on what I could do?

I live in the Cincinnati region of Ohio.

Answer
You have many choices, google some ideas I have put two links in source area. One of the website offers video based invitations and cards to send out which is a totally new concept. What you can do is video record your invitation message and choose any invitation design you like from that website and you can add that personal message into any invitations or cards and send to all your friends. This can be really amazing and you will stand out because of this new idea and creativity. They also have RSVP features.

Now for birthday parties, there is another best website where people posts their birthday party ideas and when I say people posts that means hundreds of thousands of ideas :) so I am sure that you will get something from there to celebrate your sweet 16.

grab your fave magazine or paper that best represents you and wrap them up in that. use labels to write the adresses or if you want, cut up some regular copy paper and stick it on with glue stick.

not only are they cool - esp if you use a comic, newspaper, mens mag, car mag but you will also me saving the planet by recycling / repurposing. thats gotta score you some extra brownie points.

My daughters will be turning 7 and 3 and they share the exact same birthday! (Both born October 3) I want to create a birthday party where they both feel special. I am looking for invitation ideas, theme vs just colors etc.

Answer
They both have different interests, so try to intertwine them if possible so each child can enjoy each others interests. Have them help with as much as possible with decorating, invitations, cookie making and all that is possible for them to do for each others decorating. Invitations could have a hand print from each child and then the name below it. Have the older one try to help the younger one so she feels important. Have Fun!!!

Birthday party ideas for a 16 year old girl?

Q. Does anyone have any good ideas for a 16th birthday party? I have a medical condition which limits my physical activity (my sports are limited to swimming only right now). I'd like to keep things affordable. Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer
For me at that age (17 now) I just wanted to have fun and chat all night. So we didn't really have anything planned, we were just gonna go with the flow, see what would happen. We put mattresses in the living room, hired some movies and we'd see what we'd do. The only thing that I really had planned was the food. I always like doing something special in that area, like, for example: to gourmet (I'm not sure if that's the word in English (I'm Dutch)), which is where there's a big heating plate on the table and everyone's got it's own little pan to cook. Chocolate Fondue is also real fun to do together, a big pan full with chocolate fondue (http://www.lhj.com/home/Chocolate-Fondue... and then all kinds of fruits, cookies and cake to dip in it. Or to bake pancakes together or for everyone to create it's own pizza. Or to create your own desert with buckets of icecream, fruits, sauces, whipped cream etcetera etcetera. Although this may be a bit more cheezy and young then mature. (I still like it tho)

Also what always will be fun: bowling, miniature golf, swimming, giving each other beauty masks and makeovers and all the other cheesy, cliche girly stuff.

If you're not having a sleepover, just a fancy dinner party is so much fun as well, especially when you all prepare it together! With the whole invitation thing and fancy dress code, even tho you might not be that fancy at all!

PS: at my party: we ended up watching all the movies rented, making a walk through the forest at 2AM, having huge english breakfast and having chocolate fondue and pizza for dinner.

Me and my bestie wanna throw a slumber party for the girls in 7th grade, but we have NO ideas?

We wanna have a slumber party for the girls in our 7th grade, but we're really nervous. What if no one comes? What if it's lame? We need some ideas. :)

Answer
If your friends think it's lame then they're not good friends. You don't have to have games to make it fun; just being with each other is great. But here is a TON of ideas. :)

Have your guest bring sleeping bags, flashlights, pajamas, fuzzy slippers, etc.

1. Tie a balloon with string around your guest's ankles. On "go" everyone tries to stomp on everyone else's balloon.

2. Give all guests a toothpick to put in between their teeth. They form a line and try to pass a lifesaver or any candy with a hole in it to everyone with using only your toothpick.

3. Put truth and dare cards in a balloon and have guests pick a balloon pop it and answer the truth or do the dare.

4. Play hide and go seek at night

5. Have a silly string war

6. Put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth by using facial expressions only

7. Have one girl be the pointer. She points at one girl to start off a random story then she points to another girl to continue it, and so on

8. Have a girl leave the room while everyone hides in their sleeping bags. The girl comes in and feels the bodies to guess who it is.

8. Have friends bring over board games to play.

9. Have an equal pile of m&ms for every girl. One teen starts off by saying I have never... (I have never gone to Hawaii) If it is true for you, eat an m&m. Whoever has the most left wins!

10. Have a bowl of small multicolored candy (like skittles) Have everyone grab 2 candies. If they have the same color you get to eat them. If not you must keep this in your mouth. Round after round you stuff sweets into your mouth until you have 2 of the same color.

11. Play a classic game of truth or dare.

12. Watch a movie.

13. Freeze dance

14. Give each other makeovers, BLINDFOLDED!

15. Play "Do You Like Your neighbor?". If you don't know ho google it.

16. Paint each other's finger nails.

17. Play hide and go seek in the dark!

18. Rent lots of movies!

19. Treasure hunt in the dark. (have people bring a flashlight to use)

20. Have a dance off... with bubble wrap! Try to pop the most bubbles.

21. Indoor picnic! Pack a basket of goodies, lay out a blanket in the living room, and enjoy a indoor picnic!

22. Tea party! Pull out your finest doll china (if the kids can be trusted with it) and serve hot cider, finger sandwiches, and fancy cookies. As you play you can even teach your guests proper manners for a formal occasion (ediquete).

23.Camp out! Clear some space in the basement, pitch a tent, pull out your sleeping bags, and let the kids sleep inside. (Teddy Bears optional.)

24. To a huge puzzle all together! Put your smarts together to figure it out!

25. Dance! Teach the kids your favorite dance.

26. Test Your Taste Buds! Have one person make something from ingredients in the kitchen and then other person has to put on a blindfold and eats the food. The person with the blindfold on then makes a guess at what the food is or what ingredients are in it.

27. Drama Bag Game - Fill shopping bags with 5 different items in each bag. A shoe, hat, party favor etc. - but fill each bag with different things. Divide into teams and give each team one bag. Go to different rooms and create a skit which includes all items in the bag. After 15 minutes come back and perform. Variation: Create a song or commercial.

28. Play Maufia.

29. Talk! Late Nights are a good time for friends to just get together and talk too!

30. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

For dinner have a "Mystery Meal". Give each guest a menu, but have the items coded like Dr.Pepper is Physicians spice. It is funny to see your friends so confused! Here are some more ideas:
âNeptune's Tridentâ (fork)
âPucker Upâ (lemonade)
"Shovel" (spoon)
"Finger Puppets" (olives)
"Early Morning Alarm" (chicken)
"Gold nuggets" Clue- Pocahontace (corn)

OR Have this Menu:

Slumber Party Menu

Pizza - take out or have more fun making your own with fun toppings.
Chips and dip
Veggie tray with dip
Fruit tray with dip
Make Rice Krispie Treats, Brownies or Cookies at midnight
Fondue
Hot Chocolate
Sleepover Smores
Smoothies

Answer
Movie party at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decorations for this at oriental trading. com and you can also find some movie stuff on the hollywood sites I mentioned above. Watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance if your have room.

Luau, beach Hawaii: Orientaltrading has the coolest decorations and favors for this theme and the cutest tropical invitation in the bottle. Give your guests leis as they come in. Play Limbo, Hula hoop, and have a few grass skirts and everyone (including the guys) have to give hulaing a try. Again if you have room to do this at home or you can rent a small room. Tropical pinata. Twister. Hawaii games: http://www.alohafriendsluau.com/games

Neon/glow in the dark: This is a cool theme!
invites:
For the invites oriental trading has neon badges. They are neon nylon necklaces that have a clear plastic case. You need to make the cards on your computer using the business card maker on your computer or just use the MS Word. You might want to put a really big VIP in color and on the back at the top Nicole's Neon Bash in cool color and font and then the party info, who what when.

Oriental trading sells Neon gangster hats.

favors:
Oriental sells neon sunglasses.
Oriental also sells neon jelly bracelets
Glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces, lot of sites have these.
Neon Twist and Glow lollipops.
Neon nail polish u.s. toy company
Neon lazer candy (just like pixie sticks but in neon)
Neon slap basket at u.s. toy company
Decorations:
More neon themes go along with Glow in the dark.

windy city novelties has neon tablecloths, cups, napkins. Just type neon in their search bar.

Balloons:
Shindigz has black light sensitive neon latex balloons. Again put neon in their search bar.

Shindigz also sells a neon lights personalized banner.

Oriental trading sells a neon fringe banner

Oriental trading sells neon balloon weights for the balloons you buy.

Party cheap has neon party horns and garland.

Glow in the dark sites:
glow source
shop.glogames.com Lots of games here.
Light God

U.S. toy company sells neon body glitter.
Windy city novelties sell lumi balloons that are balloon with lights in them.

Large neon party pack (kinda expensive) at windy city novelties.

So to search for neon and glow items go to all the party sites ands put that in the search bar:
Shindigz
Party cheap
oriental trading.
U.S. toy Company.
Windy city novelties

Hotel slumber party: Rent 2 adjoining room. One room for your parents and one room for you and your friends. Find a hotel that has an indoor pool that stays open a bit later and maybe even one that has a game room. In your room decorate it with a theme you want, you dont need too much.
Not sure if you can have boys but boys could come swim with you and your friends with your parents there supervising of course and then after swimming for a while go back to your room and have pizza and birthday cake and then the boys leave and you and your girlfriends have a slumber party. If you cant have boys, then just do it with your friends, you could even invite a few more.

Bowling party. You and your friend go bowling then come home and make or order pizzas, have a sundae bar and birthday cake and then a fun girly slumber party.

Hope this helps.

Syrian gir

I am throwing my dad a surprise 50th birthday party. I thought it would be neat to have the theme as the 60's and 70's since that was when he grew up, the only problem is I can't figure out what to say in his invitation. I want something unique and that goes with the theme. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
It depends on the type of person your father was when he was growing up. It is entirely possible that he and his friends don't remember most of the 60's and 70's so you can word the invitation any way you want.
Just have every one bring a favorite memory, put them all in a binder and have fun reading the memories. These and be signed or unsigned depending on the writers desire to remain a respectable member of the community.

Where do I find pirate-theme invitations for a surprise 50th birthday party?

Thanks for the suggestions. I couldn't find invites that had all the criteria, so I wound up using scroll-like paper from Staples and made my own.
