Where do i find really nice First Birthday Invitations?

tipsycherr

I need really amazing beautiful first birthday party invitations for my son. Can you recommend a really nice website?

Answer
You might consider creating real nice invitations is to go to CropMom.com at http://www.cropmom.com. Cropmom is a online digital scrapbooking, collage, card making site.

Upload your photos. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation. The site has templates and kits. In fact they have two kits dedicated to babies; one "All about baby" and "Visit from the Stork". And you can mix and match from any of the thousands of graphics available for use on the site.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the "share" link. It'll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen-quality invitation will be sent via email for free.

For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn't cost much for less than $2) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your invitation at home. Or -have it at Walgreens, Costco, Shutterfly, or Snapfish.

I'm having a backyard camp out party this weekend. I'm 17. It's gunna be a bonfire thing and then we're sleeping in tents. I've done this a couple times and we usually just chill and play music but does anyone have any ideas for low-key games or activities? Like I said, I'm 17 so no scavenger hunts lolol I was thinking maybe things like strip poker and scary stories, things of that nature. Thanks for helping!

Answer

What are the best games to play at slumber parties?

My 8 yo son is having a camping party in the backyard .Ages are 7-9 years old about 10-14 kids any ideas for some fun safe games?

Answer
Something really fun would be to set up a scavenger hunt for the kids. hide items or describe things that can be found in your backyard (something tiny that crawls... something green and alive) anything like that and the first team to collect them all gets like icecream first or something. another fun game would be to have a water balloon fight or water gun fight.. it is summer so anything water is awesome haha. Capture the flag is a fun game too. Have two teams divide the yard in half and have kids have a flag area and a jail area. They run across trying to snatch the opposing teams flag and if they are tagged they go to jail. The kids can be freed from jail if someone from their team comes to get them or if they escape without the jail guards catching them. Kinda chaotic but fun..

There are a ton of fun ideas on this website..

I like the water games best!

Hope you have a happy party!

Woo, celebrating my birthday on December 11th (which is not my birthday, but very close to). :) I'm going to go roller skating. There will be about 10 people there, so I decided now is a good time to do the whole invitation thing. I don't want to do the whole, "You're invited!" cheesy thing. What can I write on the front that's appropriate for a 14th birthday party?
Sorry! I don't know why Yahoo put this question into this category.

Answer
''You are Cordially Invited To''
I'm just kidding.
You could put:

Skate On Over To [Your Name Here]'s sweet 14!
And have like a picture of a roller skate or a invitations that look like roller skates.
...I never thought I'd be answering a question like this in Woman's Health, lol.

Happy B-day! My B-day is next month too haha.
Dec. 30th I will be 20 XD

asdfghjkl;

my birthday is coming up, but I don't know what to do. Every year, I always do the same thing. I invite my friends to my house, and we watch movies, dance, and eat dinner. But I want to do something different for my birthday this year. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer
Mabey have a winterwondlerland theme if it's close to the autumn winter theme:

WINTER WONDERLAND:
Keep decorations "cool." Use whites and light blue. Chiffon fabrics are inexpensive and are an easy way to add instant mood. Drape tables with white tablecloths and throw the chiffon over that.

Consider using a buffet-style serving. Place boxes underneath the tablecloth to add height and dimension, and add an ice sculpture in the center at the top. How do you do this? You can purchase inexpensive plastic molds in a variety of shapes! If this option is not available, any type of crystal or glass decoration will do. Even a bowl filled with Styrofoam snowballs will work.

You can also purchase quilt stuffing for very little cost, which you can spread around like snow. Cut out snowflakes are easy to make and look great. See the winter wonderland kit for all the needed decorations and supplies.

Other decorations to place around the room can include any winter items and attire you may have, such as skis, sleds, and ice skates. Some holiday decorations may work too, such as snowmen and white lights.

For food and refreshments, think warm and hearty! Provide hot chocolate, cider, or toddies for starters. Whether you offer a full meal or appetizers is up to you, but make aim for "comfort" food. Easy meals include chili, stews, and mashed potatoes. Appetizers could be something like mini quiches, warm cheese (such as brie) and crackers, or a variety of fondues.

What music should you play? How about the winter selection from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"? Anything cool and classical will work. If it's the holiday season, this type of music will work as well.

Invitations can be simple and elegant, incorporating anything from snow to winter activities. You can purchase a wide variety for little cost. Invite guests to dress in cool, light colors, or if you want to go with a theme such as skiing or ice skating, invite guests to dress accordingly (ski pants can get hot quickly, however!).

Have a fun winter party theme!

and have like a icecream cake

Or a HOLLYWOOD theme:

Inside, set the mood by creating easy and inexpensive decorations to use throughout the room. You can use card stock to create a "Hollywood" sign as well as other movie-themed items such as a megaphone, scene marker, director's chair, and more. Make your table settings as elegant as possible using richly colored tablecloths (such as red, burgundy, or black). Use poster board to create an award statue to place on the refreshment table. Make smaller awards to give each of your guests, inviting each to come to a center stage and podium to accept the award during or after the main meal. Use some white Christmas lights tastefully throughout the room to add some sparkle and ambiance. Create your own "walk of fame" by making stars from poster board with your guests' names and place them on the floor throughout the room.

See the Hollywood decorating kit for all the needed supplies.
Or decorate with purples- royal, gold and silvers- fame, and red for the red carpet. you can get them at walmart for 25 cents.

Invitations should be elegant and formal. Let your guests know that this is a red carpet event and that they should dress in their finest. This is a great excuse to break out those old gowns and tuxedos that have been hiding in the back of the closet (or in the trunk)!

This theme works great as a dinner party. The menu can include anything you like to cook, but keep it on the elegant and formal side. Consider a rich pasta dish or a meat and vegetables option. For the award part of the party, have champagne or sparkling juice for your guests. Choose your awards carefully so that there will plenty of opportunity for a few laughs.

Enjoy your fame!

Happy birthday!

What should we do for my friend's birthday?

Panda Anna

My friend has nothing to do for his 16th birthday on sunday, if there are any guys reading this, what would you want to do for your 16th birthday?

Also, if any girls are reading this, if you were a guy, what would you want to do?

Thanks!

Answer
Sit down with your teen and establish what would make an ideal celebration for both of you.

2
Discuss issues such as noise levels, curfew and appropriate behaviors with your teen before the celebration. Decide if you want to have a special theme for the party, such as a luau or a car inspired party. If you go with a theme, adapt all things that go with the party to that theme, such as invitations, music, food and drinks.

3
Devise a guest list based on your available space and your child's list of critical invitees.

4
Consider a creative location for the party, such as the beach, a roller-skating or ice-skating rink, a bowling alley or a local pizza place.

5
Send out invitations at least two weeks in advance.

6
Devise a menu and buy more food than you think you'll need, especially if teenage boys are coming to the party.

7
If you don't want to cook, order pizza - always a teenage crowd-pleaser.

8
Jazz up the drinks. Although teens will drink a lot of soda, you might want to serve punch or sparkling cider to add to the festive mood.

9
For background or dancing music, buy blank CDs and have your teen and his or her friends make mixes of favorite songs.

10
Consider something special like renting a strobe light and clearing the living room for dancing.

11
Order or make a special cake. This is a milestone birthday.

OR

Sports Theme
Throw a sporting event for your sweet 16 party. Send out invitations with images of his favorite sports team on them. Get real creative and hand out invites the shapes of tickets, or put a copy of the invite inside a sport's water bottle. Instead of the traditional team gear or merchandise, add some personalization. Order life-sized cutouts with yofriends's face and the team's jersey on, and set the cutouts all around the room. Purchase some cutouts of real team players as well. If you choose a basketball team, order basketball balloons, or necklaces with basketballs attached for the guests to wear. Cook food that you would purchase at a sports arena, such as hot dogs, pizza, nachos and pretzels, for the teenagers to eat. Give out candy bars with a picture of your son in the team jersey as thank-you gifts for the guests.

hope it works out all wel for you n your friend..and ohhh, HAPPYY BIRTHDAY to HIM :D :D

Birthday party for 14 year olds?

birthday party invitation in japanese image

Joyce Lee

I was thinking of having a party at a house at night with strobe lights and christmas lights and a bubble machine and loud music but my friend said that it'd be better if we just went out somewhere. I don't wanna go out to dinner. What is something we can do? Aka: bowling, laser tag, but not that.
Btw: my birthday is in winter

Answer
Skating?

Indoor/roller: Has the benefit that it's less likely to close if the weather turns a bit sour (as long as the roads are clear enough for your guests to travel). If it's for a party you may be able to speak with the owner about selecting specific music, and most rinks I've been to have had strobes and party lights.

Outdoor/ice: Ok so admittedly some ice rinks are inside, but if you want to have a wintery theme it's a good place to start, everyone likes hot cocoa (&those who say they don't are big fat liars). Ice skating is a little trickier though, so there are more likely to be falls.

Either way, if you can access an indoor rink, they'll most likely have a private "party room" where you can bring food, decorate, & have more freedom with music. However, the party rooms usually do cost to rent, keep your budget in mind.

Rent a hall:

If you can spend a little more, you can see if there are any halls that can be rented. You'll have more room than you would in a house if you choose to invite more people, although you usually have to provide your own entertainment. You can either pay a caterer, have your family make all the food, or ask guests to provide food or snacks. One option you can do is to state when you invite someone (invitations help if you can print some) that in stead of gifts meal items would be appreciated (hint: try not to bluntly ask for gifts or food to be brought since it can come off as rude, always try to word it as "any thing brought would be appreciated"). Also try to give an idea of what kind of entertainment will be at the party, such as the skating rinks, or if you choose the hall that there will be dancing, activities/games - I'm 25 and still like playing games at party, forgive me if this makes me a dork.

Even though it's for 14 yr olds, you can still have "drinking games" anything that has a penalty for the loser - Ramunes (Japanese sodas) come in a lot of random - sometimes gross - flavors, but may have to be ordered online

Well im 13 and i am having a slumber party
wut should i put down on invitation on what to bring to the slumber party? besides a sleeping bag

and also what are some good game and fun activity ideas?
any good websites 4 this???
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Erm, im only 15 so i might be able to help? Why dont you get a quote on how much it would be to hire a disney princess ballroom stlye dress, and have her friends all round for like a mini buffet thing, and have them all stay over. Thats what my friend did for hers and it was lot of fun!, we all bought face masks and brought chick flicks and it was a really nice night :).
However, you could just order a pizza get some face masks rent some movies and just chill out but decorate the room?.
Or, they could go for a meal at a relitivly cheap restaurant with her parents and some of her closest friends like her best friend and then have the rest over later? :). For the activities pass the parcel is poop! so im guessing now theyre 13 they will want things like a dance off? or put apples in a bowl and fill it with water and bite them out...or you could line them all up and put oranges under their necks and try and pass it, or a balloon in the middle of their legs etc. They need face masks, utilities, any make-up and if they can some movies or sweets that they would like to eat that you dont have, but you need to put down to bring some movies :) that way you arent spending loads on rentals!! ..hope that helps:) xx

My Birthday Plans; but other thinks it's not important.?

shasha1372

So when my best friend birthday comes, she wanna have a huge party.
invite so many people. try my best to do whatever I
can to come to her since we live far away. (1 hour).
I make sure im there and make her happy.

Now, my birthday is coming very soon.
and she wanna put it off for later.
tell me she is busy with school.
(but she's not busy to party her ass up in frat parties with her friends in college)
i happen to see her accept an invitation to some event (ZTA)
on the same day when I wanted to bring bday plans.
As if my birthday is nothing special compared to hers.

Inside me, I want to say to her,
Okay, bitch. You gon' tell me everything I done for you,
you still gonna act as if im unimportant to you.
you want everything and i try my best to give it to you.
but when i want something, you dont even try. you
give me these life quotes or advice and just
smile and wake away as if everything will be fine.
shit, fuck you!!

i never told her that. but thats i feel sometimes.
but she's my best friend. been friends 4 years.
im afraid to lose her. because once i lose her...
i lose another 2 (since they both are very close - go to same college)
so group of 4 will turn into only me.

am i over reacting or what?

Answer
Just have your birthday when you want. it's yours, not hers. If she doesn't come, oh well, just have fun with your other friends!

80's themed birthday party, what activites?

birthday party invitations for 80 year old

birthday party invitations for 80 year old image
Q. I'm helping my friend plan her birthday party and it's 80's themed which should be fun for everybody to dress up but we don't know what kind of activities to do that EVERYBODY will enjoy. Keep in mind that this birthday party is for 14-15 year olds. Btw, what food and cartoons were popular in the 80's? (ex. Transformers, Caprisuns, ect.)

Answer
Wow a lot of people that are my age are having parties. Like no joke i just answered one about a blackout themed party! I am legitly serious. You may wanna do that party idea if your 80s thing goes out. Look up the question "ideas for a blackout theme birthday party" or something like that. I listed a ton of ideas and stuff.

Now on your birthday party:

Clothing:
The 80s was a very funky clothing decade. SO for your party you should DEFINITELY make everyone wear 80s clothing. You can say it on the invitations. A teased- hair wig, bright scrunchies or faded jean vest will do just the trick. Word to the wise: Make sure you go all-out as well so no one feels silly in their clothes. But you don't always have to Traditional 80s clothing; you can dress as pop stars from the 80s like the SMurfs, Micheal Jackson, and Madonna

music
The Eighties has some pretty rocking music. Get some Madonna hits, a few MJ songs, and a touch of some old hits of Nirvana. Here are some songs you might wanna have on play list:
* Walk Like an Egyptian
*Come on Eileen
*The Way You Make Me Feel
*Like a Virgin
* 99 Red Balloons
* She Blinded me with Science
*People Are People
Get a kareoke machiene. People can have fun with it! Its a huge hit at parties.

Entertainment

Find something EVERYONE wants to do may be a bit hard. For some of my parties i just separate activities different parts of your house and that works our amazing. Otherwise you can do most of the ideas i listed with everyone.

*You can rent a few 80s DVDs and a few people can watch that in one room of the house. Get popcorn and other snacks. People can their own to. Or you can do the Ten Best 80 clips or something like that.

* Board Games. There's a lot of 80s version of board games. You can set up a ton of them in one portion of the house and a few people can go there and have fun. Karaoke with old 80s hits in another room of the house. Its totally fun. Plus you can set up a few mats and you can have dancing contests like who can break dance best. A way to show your moves.

* PAC MAN!!!!! Pac man was a huge hit in the 80s. PLus its a pretty fun game.

Decorations
* Decorate the party space with bright, garish colors that don't match. Fluorescentnts are usually best to generate an authentic 80s vibe. Litter the area with popular 80s regalia like Rubik'scks Cubes and teen heartthrob magazines.Round out your 80s party decorations with music and movie posters and LP covers from the era.Have balloons with unique combinations like the following:
- Red, yellow, turquoise
- Pink, yellow, turquoise
- Pink, white, lavender
- Lavender, peach, gray

Food

* Don't make everything 80s style. Have some 2000 stuff in there to! SO have normal party food.

Hope the party goes awesome!!!!!!!

Six months from today, I will be 60 years old.?

I'd like to throw a party but want something fun and different. None of my friends acts or feels 60. Any ideas???

Answer
I have a good Adult theme party. I recently hosted a "tacky social" for a group that I belong with. I sent out flower power invitations stating the time, date, place etc... With huge print stating that they come dressed in their tackiest. The invitation stated that the "queen of tacky" would be voted on, and the winner "crowned". The decorations were everything you could think of.. Christmas decorations, Easter decorations, happy new year banners, happy birthday banners... Every kind of Christmas and Halloween light you could think of... All these draped and stuck anywhere and everywhere... Even the bathroom! Most were upside down and off center. For entertainment, we played pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs and twister... Boy, you don't see grown woman doing this often!! :o) We had a mix of music from the 60's, 70's 80's and 90's on in the background. We had tacky finger foods and sloppy joes for dinner. I bought the cheapest, no-name brand drinks (sodas, wine & beer.) I hired a very cheesy dancer for our "main entertainment", who came dressed like a nerd, and danced horribly. {on purpose.} Oh, and you should see the way these woman showed up dressed! We had everything from a 100% polyester bowling leisure suit made for a man {but worn by a woman}, to a woman who showed up wearing thigh high leather lace up boots, a leather miniskirt and a bandana for a top!! Those tacky outfits I listed, and everything in between! plaids & polka dots, YOU NAME IT!! It was soo much fun. We have never laughed so hard and had so much fun! At the end of the night we voted on who was dressed the tackiest, and the winner was crowned with a tiara and sash that said" queen of tacky." And she was given a bunch of ugly fake flowers. To enhance the whole "tacky" feeling, I set out all different style/color/themed plates /napkins/plasticware/ glasses and had paisley tablecloths and dead flowers. If you decide to throw a tacky social, you and your guests will have SO MUCH FUN!!!! I still have people come up to me and tell me they need to think of a reason to throw a "tacky social". ENJOY!

How early do you send out birthday invitations?

up_all_nig

That is - for a 6 year old's first big birthday party in mid-February? I am thinking I will send them out Friday or Monday but a pal of mine says that's way to early. What do you think? It's exactly one month away.

Answer
2 WEEKS- I HAVE 2 KIDS AND WHEN THEY HAVE A PARTY I SEND OUT THE INVITATIONS 2 WEEKS. THAT WAY IT'S NOT TOO SOON AND IT'S NOT A LAST MINUTE THING EITHER. WHEN MY CHILDREN BRING HOME AN INVITATION IT'S USUALLY FOR A PARTY PLANNED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AWAY ALSO, BUT A COUPLE OF TIMES MY KIDS HAVE BROUGHT HOME INVITATIONS FOR A PARTY THAT WAS WITHIN 1 WEEK AND I HATE THAT! BECAUSE OF COURSE THE KIDS WANT TO GO AND THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE WE HAD THINGS GOING ON, IF IT WAS MORE OF A NOTICE WE WOULD OF ATLEAST TRIED TO WORK AROUND IT.

What is a good amount of challenges for a survivor party?

camping 30th birthday party ideas image

Coolbean

I'd like to have a
survivor themed
birthday party for
when I turn thirteen
I want it to start in the afternoon
and go into evening but no
later than like 10:30 at night.
If I start it at 4:30 or five thirty
How many challenges do you
think I could fit in?

Answer
You're going to need someone to act as Jeff Probst and explain the challenges, hand out the buffs, etc. Make sure it's someone who is willing to wear something like Jeff.

For invitations you should put little notes in glass bottles or you could roll the invitation up the way tree mail comes on the show. Make sure to tell them to be prepared to Outwit, Outlast, Outplay.

When your friends arrive have a jar (that you can't see trough) ready with different colored buffs. Let everyone pick one and get into their teams. Also, have names ready for both of the teams.

Set up two picnic tables and have tents pitched on opposite sides of the yard... Have one tiki torch for each person, on each team (They don't have to be lit... that could be dangerous).

Let the teams check out their camps and have a note waiting inside each tent. The note can tell them to report to their first reward challenge.

If you want to make this really fun and have memories of your party, see if one of your friends who doesn't want to participate, or your family members, want to film it. They can film it like the confessionals on survivor! They can interview different people and ask them why they think they are going to win and what they think of their team members, etc.... Make sure you do it away from others, so it will be a surprise when everyone watches it later.

Now, have the person doing Jeff's job announce the first reward challenge which can be for a prize. The challenge idea is from the link below:
WATER BRIGADE: I set this up along the sidewalk and had the two teams go different directions. On one end was a bucket full of water and on the other end an empty cup. The goal is to transfer the water from one bucket to the cup using small cups (the ones that come on the medicine bottles). They had to pass the cup to next player and so on until the cup was filled.

Send the teams back to camp and serve them rice and coconut slices! Now have someone deliver tree mail to the camps about the Immunity Challenge.
A great idea for this challenge is to get some random stuff such as: baseball bases, hula hoops, spare pieces of carpet... basically anything that can be stepped on, or in. Make sure to give both teams the same supplies. Make a start and end for both teams and give them the instructions. The goal of the game is to get your entire team to the end without stepping out of, or off of the supplies they've been given. If anyone does so, the entire team must go back to the start. Make sure you give them less supplies than there are team members, that way a lot of them have to crowd onto one item! The winning team gets immunity and gets to watch tribal counsel.

Tribal Counsel:
Set this up how you like... make sure no one gets their feelings hurt!

It would be really fun to have a food reward after that. Give everyone the same amount of monopoly money and let them bet on the food and cake you are serving. Make sure to have lots of kinds of stuff!

10 points?!

What are some cool 15th birthday ideas for about 5 girls?

as;lgkj0q2

Birthday's coming up, wanna have a fun party. They will probably all sleep over, but what are some fun things we could do?

Answer
Have your guest bring sleeping bags, flashlights, pajamas, fuzzy slippers, etc.

1. Tie a balloon with string around your guest's ankles. On "go" everyone tries to stomp on everyone else's balloon.

2. Give all guests a toothpick to put in between their teeth. They form a line and try to pass a lifesaver or any candy with a hole in it to everyone with using only your toothpick.

3. Put truth and dare cards in a balloon and have guests pick a balloon pop it and answer the truth or do the dare.

4. Play hide and go seek at night

5. Have a silly string war

6. Put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth by using facial expressions only

7. Have one girl be the pointer. She points at one girl to start off a random story then she points to another girl to continue it, and so on

8. Have a girl leave the room while everyone hides in their sleeping bags. The girl comes in and feels the bodies to guess who it is.

8. Have friends bring over board games to play

9. Have an equal pile of m&ms for every girl. One teen starts off by saying I have never... (I have never gone to Hawaii) If it is true for you, eat an m&m. Whoever has the most left wins!

10. Have a bowl of small multicolored candy (like skittles) Have everyone grab 2 candies. If they have the same color you get to eat them. If not you must keep this in your mouth. Round after round you stuff sweets into your mouth until you have 2 of the same color.

11. Play a classic game of truth or dare

12. Watch a movie.

13. Freeze dance

14. Give each other makeovers, BLINDFOLDED!

15. Play "Do You Like Your neighbor?".

16. Paint each other's finger nails.

17. Play hide and go seek in the dark!

18. Rent lots of movies!

19. Treasure hunt in the dark. (have people bring a flashlight to use)

20. Have a dance off... with bubble wrap. Try to pop the most bubbles.

21. Indoor picnic! Pack a basket of goodies, lay out a blanket in the living room, and enjoy a indoor picnic!

22. Tea party! Pull out your finest doll china (if the kids can be trusted with it) and serve hot cider, finger sandwiches, and fancy cookies. As you play you can even teach your guests proper manners for a formal occasion (ediquete).

23.Camp out! Clear some space in the basement, pitch a tent, pull out your sleeping bags, and let the kids sleep inside. (Teddy Bears optional.)

24. To a huge puzzle all together! Put your smarts together to figure it out!

25. Dance! Teach the kids your favorite dance.

26. Test Your Taste Buds! Have one person make something from ingredients in the kitchen and then other person has to put on a blindfold and eats the food. The person with the blindfold on then makes a guess at what the food is or what ingredients are in it.

27. Drama Bag Game - Fill shopping bags with 5 different items in each bag. A shoe, hat, party favor etc. - but fill each bag with different things. Divide into teams and give each team one bag. Go to different rooms and create a skit which includes all items in the bag. After 15 minutes come back and perform. Variation: Create a song or commercial.

28. Play Maufia.

29. Talk! Late Nights are a good time for friends to just get together and talk too!

30. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

For dinner have a "Mystery Meal". Give each guest a menu, but have the items coded like Dr.Pepper is Physicians spice. It is funny to see your friends so confused! Here are some more ideas:
âNeptune's Tridentâ (fork)
âPucker Upâ (lemonade)
"Shovel" (spoon)
"Finger Puppets" (olives)
"Early Morning Alarm" (chicken)
"Gold nuggets" Clue- Pocahontace (corn)

Slumber Party Menu

Pizza - take out or have more fun making your own with fun toppings.
Chips and dip
Veggie tray with dip
Fruit tray with dip

Fondue
Hot Chocolate
Sleepover Smores
Smoothies

What kind of a birthday party can I put together for my 6 year-old daughter for about $10 per child?

She will be 6 years old in July, and we plan to invite 10-15 boys and girls. I'm looking for something that will be fun for all of the children, special to my daughter, but doesn't cost $500 like many of the party options I've looked into.

I am open to having it in my home, but it is small, so I think having it somewhere outside my home would really be better.

Answer
Take them to the beach or the park. Then you can just get cake and ice cream. You can also make party favor bags. They are cheap to make. You can get the stuff at wal-mart. Pizza Hut is also a good place for a party. If you buy 5 large 1 topping pizzas, they are only $5 dollars a piece. I had my sons party at Pizza Hut and it cost way less than $500 dollars. If she wants it at a particular place write $10 admission cost on the invitations, don't feel obligated to pay for everyone. Goodluck, and Happy Birthday to your daughter.

My son is having his 5th birthday party as a dinosaur party. We have several things planned such as a "dino dig" (dig in sand for toy dino), making our own volcano erupt and creating a cool dino fact book. I have all this planned but cant think of a creative way to word his invitations. He is inviting his whole Kindergarten class (some of which do not have the money to bring a gift) so i also wanted to include that gifts are not expected on the invites. Any ideas?

Where do i find really nice First Birthday Invitations?

How do I send Shutterfly orders to Walmart to pay & pick-up?

Q. I'm making birthday party invitations on Shutterfly. I would love if I could send my order to walmart, so I can pick them up and pay for them at Walmart. Is this possible? If not, what stores can you send your order too? Thanks so much!

Answer
Unfortunately Shutterfly does not have an existing partnership with Walmart. Shutterfly currently offers the ability for in store pickup with Target, Walgreens and CVS. Walgreens and CVS only offer glossy 4x6 prints. However, if you go to http://targetphoto.shutterfly.com and sign into your Shutterfly account, you can order glossy 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 and 4x8 photo cards. Hope this helps!

What is a simple & "free" birthday party to host for our 9 year old son?

Live, Love

Our son is wanting to get together with about six or seven of his closest friends for his "belated" birthday celebration. Our son loves the Wii video game and loves to hang out with his friends. He loves to draw, he's really good at it too! What type of party would you suggest that we have that won't break our wallet? We are on an extremely tight budget due to job pay cuts etc...We want our son to have a great and memorable party. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
I'd say a sleepover is a great idea. If he loves the Wii and his friends do, too, then just let them play the games that he already has. Maybe have a championship game for the top scorers.

For refreshments, most boys like brownies and chocolate chip cookies. You could have a birthday brownies or a birthday cookies.

Make your own sundaes. Vanilla ice cream. Chocolate Syrup, sprinkles, M & M's, nuts, cherries, etc. They will have fun doing this.

Since we're close to Halloween, you could go with a Halloween theme. Rent some scary movies. Maybe buy each boy a pumpkin to carve (or decorate with paint, fabric, etc, if you are more comfortable with that--grocery store is cheaper than a pumpkin farm). Have Halloween themed food (freeze spider rings or gummy worms) in ice trays for spooky ice cubes. Worms (slice hot dogs in long strips and boil in water and they'll curl up and look like worms). Mummy Dogs (hot dog wrapped with breadstick dough and bake and then put eyes on with mustard). Caramel Apples (you can make these ahead of time or let the boys dip them-roll in nuts or decorate with M&M's or candy corn). Drink hot cocoa with a floating eyeball (large marshmallow with Choc Chip inserted in the middle). Cupcakes or brownies decorated with Halloween decorations. Potato Bugs (tater tots inserted onto raw spahetti noodle and bake per directions-use catsup for the eyes. Wal-Mart has gummy eyeballs, worms, and spiders. There's also a severed foot or hand in the candy aisle that's gummy w/ some sort of hard candy in the middle-gross but good for 9 year old boys.

Pizza. Make your own, you can buy the crusts premade, use canned biscuits or make your own crusts and a wide variety of toppings. Or, Pizza Hut has the $5 Pizza Mia (a medium) but you have to buy at least 3 to get them for $5 each. They would be less mess and could be cheaper.

Do you have a yard? If so, a camp out. Pitch some tents, have the boys bring sleeping bags. Build a fire in a fire pit (if you have one). Roast hot dogs and make smores. Play horse shoes or ring toss or both. Hold sack races (you can use old pillow cases-can buy from Salvation Army for cheap). Buy some glow sticks or cheap flashlights for the kids to play with outside to tell ghost stories or play ghosts in the graveyard.

What to wear on a church camping trip with a boy that I like?

CullenGal3

I'm fifteen and I'm going camping with my youth group tomorrow. I want to look cute the whole time, because I like this guy that's coming too. I need to dress modestly, obviously, but still something easy and cute. I need loads of ideas! I'll be gone for a week.

Answer
I'm going to assume you are expecting hot weather.

If you're going swimming, maybe go for a skirtini or tankini rather than a skimpy bikini- it's pretty without being tarty.

For a shopping trip or walk in town, maybe go for leggings and a cute tunic top, or a dress that's just above the knee in a colour that suits you and is not too low cut. A light colour is nice as it looks innocent and sweet.

For hanging round the camp shorts and a quirky t-shirt that reflects your personality is good.

On a cooler day a pair of well fitted jeans and a nice top is always good.

Take a sweet and innocent party dress as there is normally a "disco" night at camps and this is your excuse to dress up and look your best!

If it gets cold and you forget to bring a jumper he might offer to lend you his jacket ;op

If you are going hiking then wear practical gear- guys hate it when a girl dresses in clothes unsuitable for the activity no matter how adorable she looks!

Keep the make-up simple- foundation, a little blusher, a barely there creamy eye-shadow and mascara and a lipgloss is enough.

Remember to take clothes that you feel comfortable in and that make you feel good about yourself. And most important of all, be yourself and feel confident.

My daughter's birthday is June 5th and she wants to have a slumber party. However, I think that would be too much trouble and tried to convince her to do something else. She told me that kids her age don't do parties at places anymore. Any ideas?

Answer
If you have backyard, you can suggest her throwing a camping party. Invite 3-4 of her best friends to join the party. Setting up the tend themselves will be one of interesting activities. Don't forget to provide plenty of foods, so they can roast over the open flames. This way, you can still watch their activity, yet your daughter wish about a slumber birthday celebration is met.

I agree with most of the other answers... I think you would have the best time by having a small party at home....

Baby's 1st Birthday- a few questions?

Mrs. Kelly

Hi! My baby is turning 1 early November. I never thought I'd have a first birthday party for her- just dad, mom, grandmas and grandpas... BUT now I am just so excited and we have many friends with babies, so I'm going to do one.
1. How much is too much? (guest-wise. I'm thinking there might be 12 kids under the age of 5 there, plus their parent of course. Is this too over the top? My house is small!)
2. I want a tasty but HEALTHY birthday cake. If that exists. I'm thinking of making a carrot cake. What do you think?
3. I'm not going to do a theme... just a lot of balloons. Any ideas on what else could "go on" at the party?
THANKS!

Answer
my son turns 1 at the end of tis month. i just sent out invitations today. almost 30 invites went out.
i have a smallish house too, yet im going all out.
im so excited! i cant wait until his birthday!
i know he wont remember it, but ill have tons of pictures to share with him when he gets older. and i feel like each birthday should be celebrated the same weather he remembers or not.

1. only you can answer that question. if you feel you cant accommodate that many children and their parents, then cut down your guest list.
2. i honestly dont think there is such thing as a healthy birthday cake. carrot cake tastes great, but could pack just as many calories as a chocolate or vanilla cake. you could do an angel food cake. thoes are low in fat, and you could do a fresh fruit topping, if youre that worried about calories or fat.
3. decorate however you want. we have chosen a "jungle buddies" theme. i ordered all the decorations from birthdaydirect.com. great selection, and great prices. plus im going to go to party america the morning of the party and get a ton of balloons.

we're not going to play any games at the party. just bbq and spend time with family and friends. watch him play around in his chocolate cake that i am making for him, and watch him open presents.

Q. My daughter's birthday is coming up and she told me she wanted a chocolate birthday party. I need experienced moms to answer this question: How can I throw my 11 year old girl's chocolate birthday party? All she decided s she wants a chocolate fountain and the party colors will be baby blue and brown.

Answer
Blue & brown are cute together! I would do chocolate fondue instead of a fountain, but if she really wants the fountain, go for it.

I would say just get blue & brown decorations and then have a lot of fruit (strawberries, cherries, raspberries, etc) and some bite sized things like marshmallows or small pieces of brownies to dip in the fondue/fountain.

You can also buy a giant 5 lb Hershey bar instead of a cake.

I would get some chocolate hugs and attach them to index cards and ask the guest to write one thing they like about the birthday girl. They could eat the hug then "hug" her back by giving her the card.

Maybe an ice cream bar?

I'd also put on the invitation that things could get messy so parents are warned ahead of time. Then you could do fun activities like putting some cute costume jewelry in a baby pool filled with chocolate syrup/whipeed cream/sprinkles and having each guest dig for their treasure. They would get to keep one piece of jewelry as a favor.

Fun Party Ideas For a 12 Year Old Girl?

Nikki Jai

My daughter is turning twelve soon so we are trying to come up with a fun party idea. Last year she went bowling and this year I offered to have it at my home. There will be 10-20 girls there. We are still deciding on if it will be a sleepover or not. What did you do for your 12th birthday party or what are you planning to do? We are trying to stay under $200.00, but we will go up about $25 more. Should we have it at home or somewhere else? My daughter isn't really into make-up, but loves spas. She is a real girly-girl. Thanks so much!

Answer
How about a girly-girl slumber party? Here are some suggestions:

Invitations:
-Print your party details in large block letters on clean, white pillowcases. Fold them and send them in manila envelopes.
-Mail your invitations along with a small teddy bear or stuffed animal for your guests to bring to the party.
-Punch a hole in the corner of a card-style invitation and attach it to a new toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. Your guests can bring these items with them to the party! Mail your invites in padded envelopes.
-Here's an invite idea.
Are you ready for some giggles and gossip?
Maybe some pizza, and some chips and dip?
Then come to Ella's party and bring your pj's,
'Cause it's going to be fun in so many ways!

Decorations:
-Streamers and tulle around the room
-Glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling
-Pillows, sleeping bags, and blankets around the room
-Popular music that your guests can dance to (like Super Bass and Pop by NSYNC)
-White twinkle lights around the perimeter of the ceiling

Food at night:
-Funny Face Bagels. Spread cream cheese on bagels then decorate with jelly in a squeeze tube.
-Relaxing Refreshments. Soda, strawberry milk, and juice with silly straws would work.
-Popcorn Passing. Give everyone a bag of popcorn and pass around the flavors such as powdered cheese or barbecue powder.

Food in the morning (breakfast):
-Smiley Face Pancakes. Decorate pancakes with toppings such as whipped cream, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, finely chopped nuts, blueberries, and more to make them look like Smiley Faces.
-Waffles. Let your guests choose their own waffle toppings such as cherries, whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate chips, and nuts.
-Fruit Pops. Slide sections of fruit, such as pineapple, banana, strawberries, and grapes onto a wooden skewer and serve.

Games and activities:
-Make your own scrapbooks. Provide the paper, coloring materials, beads, buttons, stickers, and more.
-Play the traditional party game Telephone.
-Name That Tune. Give each guest a chance to pick 5 songs from YouTube and let the others guess. After three rounds, the winner gets a unique prize.
-Play the traditional party game Flashlight Tag.
-Bake cupcakes with your guests. After that, have a cupcake decorating contest! Provide the cream, sprinkles, chocolates, and more.
-Create a fun scavenger hunt for your guests.
-Like what you mentioned, setting up spa-themed activities or beauty stations would be good. How about a mani-pedi station--or a hair perm station? :)
-Watch fun chick flicks such as:
The Notebook
Monte Carlo
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Princess Diaries
Ella Enchanted
Aquamarine
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Never Been Kissed
The Princess Bride
A Cinderella Story

-How about other cool movies?
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Nanny McPhee
Harry Potter
High School Musical
Hugo
Lemonade Mouth
The Secret Garden
Diary of A Wimpy Kid
Titanic
The Ring
Paranormal Activity

Favors:
-Pillowcases
-Lotion, lip gloss, and nail polish
-Candy
-Stickers
-Costume jewelry

Hope it helped! XDD

How can I help a six year old boy to write correctly ?

Kiki

A six year old boy in my class has a mirror effect of writing. He turns "b's" to "d's" and vice versa. His "s's" are the other way round so are his "c's" and several other letters. I've tried loads of tactics but the problem still persits. Please Help !

Answer
This will probably improve with age, but there are many tactics to try.

⢠For children who do mirror writing, as Matthew did, a sticker at the top left corner of the page can help remind them where to start.

⢠If it is just a particular letter or two that are troublesome, help them with a reminder (like âbâ has a big belly).

⢠Encourage your child to trace words youâve printed for him, or use inexpensive stencils to give practice in printing the letters correctly. Make it fun by turning it into a craft such as making birthday cards or party invitations.

⢠Build a pattern with tiles or blocks and have your child duplicate it. Make asymmetrical designs that help her focus on matching the different sides.

allowing him to use play dough to form the letters 'b' & 'd'

- getting him to write 'b' and 'd' in uncooked rice, flour and in the air with his finger

- drawing the word and picture 'bed', with a man lying down on it, head above 'b' and feet above 'd'.

- showing him that his right hand (palm closed, with thumb sticking out -palm facing him) is the letter 'b' and using his left hand doing the same hand action will give him a 'd'.
- Use handwriting styles that go from left to right..
1. Draw a big arrow at the top of the page, and say we always move this direction.
2. To write a "b": Start at the top of the page and move the pencil down to form the vertical line first. Without picking the pencil up, draw the round part. Always moving to the right.
3. To write a "d": Start at 2:00 like you are writing an "a" but make the up hand stroke longer. Also don't pick up the pencil
