Good themes for birthday party?

Michelle

Good themes for birthday party? One year, I did Shrek.. But, I can't think of anything for my 18 bday party! BTW - there will be kids there, so it has to be appopriate! I can't think of a good theme... :/
Well.. I liked Barney when LIL... No way am I doing Barney!! lmao!
Laura- if you're in the area (Indiana), come on over! The children are mostly special needs and autistic children. Since, I love special needs/autistic children, since I have Autism myself, but I'm VERY higher-functioning. I'm sorta an advocate.. I try to let these kids have AS much as fun as possible! :D (Since, they do not have very many friends)!
If I had a pool.. I would definitely do this... Bummer! :/

im havin my 18th birthday party and i want to order some flyer type invitations.. where online can i order em?

Shakera

if you know anywhere in maryland that would b good..but online is fine...i really need your help

Answer
You can design your invitatations online at CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com. Personally, I'd use a fun magazine cover theme using my own photos and adding my own headlines. You can find the magazine cover templates by clicking "start a new layout' then "open templates."

Places to print them: Shutterfly at http://www.shutterfly.com, Snapfish at http://www.snapfish.com or Vista Print at http://www.vistaprint.com.

Anyone know a good place to print cheap but cute birthday party invitations online?

Joe D

I want to design something simple and cute to print and have shipped soon in the next week or two. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't have the time to make anything myself. Any good websites or ways I can do this (on the computer- want to order and have printed- can't print at home). Don't want to do anything by hand. I also don't want a photo card- I know those are cheap though.

Any ideas are much appreciated- Im running out of time. Thank you so much!

There are many invitations to search from here (the first few are photo invitations so you just have to click through to get the the non-photo invitations): http://www.einvite.com/category/party/birthday/kids/?Cobrand=8KF0IK&Site=eInvite&vk=1777211146

40/50/60 birthday party theme! - help!!?

alma c

I am helping my cousin organize a multiple birthday party for my sister who is going to be 40, my aunt - she is going to be 50 and my dad he is going to be 60. We don't know what theme to use or how to decorate! This party will be after Christmas since their birthday is at the begining of January. ANY IDEAS? Thank you!

Answer
I would go with black and white, maybe with a splash of red. Polka dots and gingham and stripes. Black and white balloons. You could do something with the number 150---that's the number of years they all add up to! A one and a half century party? You don't need a theme, but you could do a 40's, 50's and 60's party (going by the eras that each of them grew up in). Have various decor relating to each era, and a mix of music from those three decades. A three tiered cake with each tier decorated like one of the decades (I'm thinking tie dyed or hippie flowers for the 60's tier---)

Check ebay for custom invitations. Lots of crafters out there will make invites to your specs. Or just use Evite.

I need help making an invitation for my father's 60th birthday party!!?

MJ

We are having the party at a hall and it is being catered by a restaurant. I want to make the invitation myself, and use pictures from my dad's life (a baby photo, a childhood photo, his college graduation photo, a more recent photo, etc). Any ideas? I know someone who did something like:

Our dad has been:

a baseball coach
a loving son and brother
a Boy Scout leader
etc, etc. and listed the many things they have been throughout their life.

I can't think of anything nice to do like that, with the photos! Any ideas at all???

Thanks!!

Answer
the heading should be: The old bastard made it to 60 and he's still alive! And now he can order from the old folks menu at IHOP! YOO HOO!!!

13th birthday party ideas... Please help!?

Landon

So anyways I am having a birthday this November and was wondering what ideas there are. I want to have a good party. At first I wanted to do a camping trip and have a scavenger hunt but then i realized (because we live in Massachusetts) that it would be too cold. then I thought of a war reenactment. Please help!

Answer
Do you love themed outdoor parties? This is great. You will surely love a Tropical theme party in the middle of cold weather. With those tiki torches that you will have as a decoration and lighting scheme in the venue, you will surely have a breeze of summer. I strongly suggest this theme if the event will be held during cold season, just like yours. Hope this will help. Good luck! ^_^

How can i decorate for a farm themed summer camp?

ZZZray

I'm going to be one of the camp counselors for a summer camp and the theme is "down on the farm". As camp counselors, we are suppose to put up lots of cool and fun decorations in the cabins. My friend and I were thinking about stuffed animals like cows and chickens and pigs, and some bandannas for the campers. However, we need more ideas! They would have to be things that girls ages 9-13 would like. Please help me and my friend so that we can the coolest cabins this summer :) thanks!

Answer
I love it. I work at a summer camp, too and I really like the idea of decorating the cabins. Here are some thoughts...

Check out eBay and search for 'western decorations'. You'll find some neat things like wanted posters, western signs, a western boot planter, spurs, etc.

Also, get yourself a cowboy hat and a sheriff's badge. Maybe you can even have some deputy badges and bandanas that you can give your campers. You can find this all at your local party store. I usually go to Party City. Dollar stores might have some stuff, too.

Name your cabin and put a sign above the front door, Names could be "The Cowgirls", "The Whole in the Wall Gang", "The Pawnees," "Texas Rangers", "The Hideout", etc.

Anything with a cowhide print on it would be fun (pillows, blankets, pajamas, etc.).

You can also put a sign on the front door that says something like "Stay outta here...or you'll be pushin' up daisies."

And finally, Google "western decorations" and click on the Images link for more ideas.

Have fun.

I want to make a video invitation for my birthday party- how?

I want it too look like a cheesey movie trailer, anyone know a service or software that can create this?

Use a digital video camera. You can use Microsoft movie maker to do it. It is not the best program but is good for simple projects and beginners.

eighteenth birthday party...?

meee*

what would you have at an eighteenth birthday party where A LOT of people will be, to make it unforgettable.
beside famous singers, someone popping out of a big cake, etc.
(and you don't have a price limit).
thanks a bunch!

Answer
strode lights are awsome and not that expensive also at spencers they have smoke machines that also make bubbles. If you have a projector you could put up music videos on a wall and it would be like the band was there. Also make your invitations unique and fancy. Also serve really great food. Cookies are pretty cheap to make and you can make them beautiful.

What to wear to a 90th birthday party?

Ally

I have to go to a birthday party for one of my dad's aunts (I'm not completely sure, he just calls her aunt. She's some distant family member). It's her 90th birthday and the party is being held at a banquet hall/country club type place. I was thinking about wearing this black dress I have its fitted and comes to a little above my knee. Would this be appropriate? btw I'm a 15 year old girl

Answer
Yes, sounds like it would be nice to me. But, just to be safe take a look at the invitation it might say formal or casual. Also ask your mom and dada what they are wearing.

Birthday party etiquette?

They ca

We plan on having a cook-out ofr our daughters' birthday party next weekend. Usually when we have a cook-out, everyone brings a covered dish. Would it be rude to ask them to bring something to the party? My husband and I are on a tight budget right now so there's no way we can afford to feed all of our family members. I plan on asking everyone to bring something but what would be the best way to ask? Would it be best to include it in the invitations or by word of mouth?
If someone is too cheap to buy a gift for a child just because they brought .99 worth of baked beans they cooked in their kitchen they are pretty pathetic. If you think it's inappropriate to bring a covered dish to a cook out, you are either too cheap to buy something pre-made from the grocery store or you don't know how to cook period.

Answer
Instead of listing the party just as a birthday party, list it as a birthday cookout or birthday potluck. For example:

Brittany's turning 9 and we'd love to have you dine!
Bring a covered dish and share her birthday wish.
(Okay, that was corny, but you get the idea).

Invitations are definitely a good idea so there's no misunderstandings. List clearly what you are providing (the meat or the drinks or what-not) so that you don't end up with 90 hot dogs and no buns.

You might forewarn your daughter that there might be fewer gifts if she's old enough to expect gifts; sometimes people will consider bringing a dish their "gift" to the party.

Hope that helps!

where can i find free birthday invitation ideas and downloads on the net?

DC

Answer
I have had great luck and am very satisfied with http://www.free-printable-party-invitations-online.com/birthday-party-invitations.html I have used this site to create invitations for several different types of parties: birthday, baby shower, etc. The best part is that it is completely free to use, no catches! When I was searching for free printable invitations the first time I found many sites that claimed to be free to use, but really werenât. This site is different.

No matter what kind of birthday party you are planning, you are sure to find an invitation on this site to suit your needs.

After you download the free invitation templates you can use one of the pre-made invitations with design and wording as is or you can import your own graphics and use the wording of you choice too.

When I initially stumbled upon this site I wasnât particularly computer savvy, but I was able to create invitations with ease and got many compliments from the invitees. The look and quality of the invitations is definitely above what most people expect when they hear that they are free.

If you happen to be planning a themed birthday party you are in luck. They have invitations that fit just about any theme.

I bet youâll be as satisfied with the free downloadable and printable invitations you can create from this site, as I was.

is there a website that has free birthday invitations that i may download ??

Is it proper to request gift cards for an adult birthday party?

grandmakno

My best friends 65th birthday is coming up. We are having a party for her. She's truly the woman who has everything so buying her a gift will be difficult. My friend loves quilting and she has a favorite store. Would it be proper to put on the invitations to purchase a gift card from her favorite store as a birthday gift. I think this would save time and less frustrating for the guest.

Answer
Yes that seems fine to me, no different to a wedding gift list or a dress code on an invitation, I really think you're over-thinking this. Careful how you phrase it though, don't demand presents (as some guests may choose not to bring a gift for whatever reason). So you could just write on the back of the invitation - "We all know Carol loves quilting, her favorite store is xxxxx"

birthday party ideas? places to go, what to do?

Jesus Shav

so I'm having a sweet 16 and I want to have a big party, but I don't have any good ideas on what to do! I was thinking rock climbing, but there are no places to rock climb where I live! any ideas? thanks!
ummmm... I don't have that much money

Answer
Okay, I JUST had my Sweet Sixteen party 2 weeks ago, and this is what I did:

Venue: Rented a really nice hall with a 75 person capacity for $70/hour for 5 hours.

Invitations: I made the invitations myself using photoshop (Google "sweet sixteen" and lots of cool banners and things come up) And printed them off on glossy paper at Staples.

Food: I ordered a bunch of pizzas, made two big pans of pasta, a huge salad, chicken strips, and had lots of chips. (Food that everyone likes, but an upgrade from hot dogs and hamburgers). Also take into consideration themed cups, napkins, plates, utensils, etc.

music: I DJed my own party by getting giant speakers from my dad's work, but you can probably ask around for a sound system (relatives, friends, etc might lend you one) and then make a party playlist on an ipod and put it on shuffle. If someone wants a certain song, they can put it on themselves (my friends prefered this to a DJ because they had more control and variety).

Games: Coincidentally my party was also candyland themed! The game we played was that we had these medium sized gumball machines, and we gave one to each table to play hot potato with (i.e. play the music, when the music stops, the person holding it is out, last person standing gets to keep the gumball machine). My friends totally loved this!

Limo: Do you really need a limo? Arent you gonna go there early to set up anyways?

Cake: I would suggest making your own cake, as store bought cakes are EXTREMELY overpriced. Make a 2 or 3 layered cake and cover it in fondant to make it look fancy. Then make a giant bow out of icing for the top! (Google or YouTube how, its pretty easy). The result is the same, but its sooo much cheaper!

Party Favours: I made chocolate covered Oreos. Cutest things ever, but pretty inexpensive to make. Buy a template at a cake decorating store and simply fill the template with melted chocolate, and insert the oreo, the when you pop it out you have an oreo with a cute chocolate design on it. Put these into a pretty party bag, tie it with a bow, and put a tag on the bow that says "[Your Name]'s Sweet Sixteen!" or something.

All and all, this would cost about:
Venue: $350
Invites: $10-15
Food: $250
Music: FREE
Games: gunball machines are about $6 each at Walmart, assuming you have about 8 tables =$48
Cake: Homemade = ~$65, Store bought= ~$300
Party Favours: after buying all the supplies, about $0.50 each. (so for about 70 people, $30)

TOTAL PARTY: $756 (but if you buy your cake, just under $1000)

Birthday Parties.....?

Kimberly M

My daughter will be starting Pre-K August 6th. Her 5th birthday will be on September 8th. We still have the "family" parties, so my question is- should I have one party for her Pre-K class (that will include about 16 kids if they all attend) and a seperate party for the family, or just one big party? I am not sure how it goes with inviting the whole class. I know you have to send an invitation to everyone but how many of them usually come? Just trying to get some feedback on the issue for budgeting... any comments appreciated
Do you think it would help if I had the party at the end of september to give her 2 full months to make friends with the kids at the Pre-K?

Answer
No need to have a seperate party
talk to her teacher to see what is customary in the classroom
usually the parent sends treats & or party favors
be sure to ask the teacher about allergies amongst the class as some are very serious like peanut allergies & that is a very hidden ingredient in most store bought treats
If & when your daughter asks for a party with friends a simple way of dealing with how many to attend is tell her she may invite the amont of friends as her new age will be
5 yr b-day = 5 friends
6 yr b-day= 6 friends ect.

then give her ideas that you are willing to do for the party
afternoon tea party (dress up in adult dresses & accessories)

beach party ( get beach theme activities at the dollar store & use a wading pool or sprinkler in the backyard)

sleep over-1) paint fingernails & toenails, give each other facials & make-over's & hair- do's(....this one is better a little closer to pre- teen age)

sleep over 2) movies popcorn slumber party

sleep over3) backyard camping : tent, sleeping bags, make s'mores ect

roller skating party

bulid- a- bear workshop

so many ideas I could go on forever

8 year old birthday party at an equestrian center?

Heather M

Would you let your 8 year old go to a birthday party where there would be pony rides or would you think it would be too dangerous? My daughter wants to have her party at an equestrian center which hosts birthday parties and gives pony rides--the pony is on a lead rope--but last time we went, two ponies became startled and kicked off their riders. One little girl's wrist was broken. I'm okay with the risks of horseback riding, but before I agree to having her party there and invite her classmates, do you think their parents will even let them go?

Answer
I think its a great idea. On the invitation just have, "Parents are requested to stay" printed with the location. That way the parent can judge for themselves We added that on the roller rink parties when the kids were younger and we knew here would be some that could not skate.
We've never had a parent complain. If they couldn't stay they had another parent cover for them. At 8 I'd think they'd want to stay with the kids.
Good luck.

oh and shes NOT into hary potter or TV she wants to Go and do something

Answer
Take advantage of the swimming pool - but don't make it a "pool party" turn it into a Beach Party, Hawaiian Luau or Under the Sea party. By giving the party a theme you can have so much more fun with the invitations, decorations, food and games.

For example a beach party you can decorate using beach pails, sand toys, colorful beach towels, beach umbrellas and beach chairs. Have lots of beach balls of different sizes floating in the pool. If it is an evening party you can get a light up beach ball and set up a volleyball net in the pool or nearby.

A Hawaiian luau means lots of color. Your daughter can help by making tissue paper flowers and hang them from tree branches or from the ribs of the umbrella. We got two light up hoola hoops from Target for our Hawaiian themed party and had a hoola hoop contest. For more Hawaiian party ideas go to:

i need a party idea for a 13 year old boy. any suggestions?

Answer
Wow, seems most people here think that 13 is really young. It's not, a 13 year old boy is on the verge of being a young man. They would be seriously offended by some of these suggestions.

Does he skateboard? You could have a party at a skatepark, those are good places.

A paintball party, let him get it all out of his system lol

Comedy night at home, rent tons of good comedy films and order in pizza

Camping for the weekend, go fishing, canoing, etc

Have fun :)

since ur having a pool party, why don't u do a little mermaid/ beach theme?
u could decorate the pool area and ur home like it was under the sea.
if there are going to be more younger kids, make sure u have plenty of adults to supervise the pool.

here are some ideas for invitations. i'm sure u can find cute, inexpensive ones at a party store.

What are some tips for planning a 3 year old (girl) birthday party?

rebecca c

My daughter is turning 3 at the end of the month. The party is going to be small but I want it to be a memorable birthday for her. I am going to make her a barbie birthday cake but not sure of the party favors or games. So far the only game that comes to mind is pin the tale on the donkey. (Need ideas for a few more games). As far as ideas for party favors, the kids who will be invited will be 2, 3, 1, and 6 - all boys except for a girl (my daughter's 3 year old cousin).
I guess I should have said this before. Even though I'm having a barbie cake for Shelby, it's not going to be a "barbie party". I let Shelby pick out what kind of cake she wanted, she picked Barbie. Really surprised she didn't pick Spiderman LOL. With more boys than girls coming, I don't want to do a big girly theme. Just a big day of fun.
Thanks everybody for all the advice and links!

Kid's birthday party?

Meg

I am having a birthday party for my son who just turned 5 on July 5th and my daughter who will turn 4 on July 11th....

My question is what kind of party should I throw? He likes spider-man, speed racer, iron man...you know boy stuff. She likes princess, Dora, Mickey Mouse, girly things

I'm on a tight budget, should I do hot dogs and hambergers with the fixings or Just cake and ice cream?

Any ideas?

Answer
Good boy and girl themes that go together well are Pirates and Princesses or Pirates and Mermaids. Also Knights and Princesses.

If your son would agree on this theme.

Also some neutral themese are
Wild West (Coyboys/Indians)
Jungle
Circus
Luau

Why don't you set the party to be a time before or after people eat that way you don't have to supply a meal and you could just get cake and icecream.

Pirates and Mermaids

This theme goes great together because they each have to do with the ocean. So decorations could be easy sea sheels, jewls, peral neclaces, gold coins, fish, fishing net. Have blue, green, and white as streamers and ballons. Make a flag with scull and cross bones. Maybe a have a toy boat sitting on the table. Spray paint rocks gold to look like golden nuggets.

Invitations: This could be a fun things to do with the children before the party. Write or print the party deatails on paper roll up to resemble a treasure map and tie with string or ribbon. Add some sand, glitter, confetti and and some few small sheels inside a plastic bottle add the invitation and put the cap on and deliver.

Girls could dress up as mermaids and guys dress in pirate attire. Or you could aslo tell the guest to wear swimming attire if you have a small pool to play in or other water games.
Have eye patches, bandannas and temporary tatoos for the pirates you could also paint on stubble and beards with paint or eyeliner. For the girls you could have pearls or costume jelery, Sea Crowns and temporary tatoos you could aslo give them face paint.

Seating: Since you are having two parties in one to make each child feel special maybe you could have two talbes one for each child and their friends. I think you should also make a speical seat for the birthday child decorate it by taping things to it and maybe having a pillow to sit on you could do one that is more mermaid and one more pirate. Also you could tie balloons to it so it really stands out.

Food: Gold Fish Crackers, Swedish Fish and Cake/Cupcakes and IceCream
You could have an under the sea cupcakes or cake to share or you could have two seprate cake/cupcakes for each child.

For games you could play pass the fish/crab or whatever stuffed animal like hot potato. Also you could have a treasure hunt (you could use pictures or word with this one) with a real treasure box to find you could fill the treasure box with individual favor bags so there would be no fighting. You could have a crab race where guest have to walk on their hands and feet belly up possition. Another game could be like musical chairs but use beach towel instead and call them islands. You could also have a hunt but this time hind things like sea sheels or other little prizes that the kids can keep once they find them they could use their decoarted treasure cheast to collect their prizes.

You could have the children do a craft
One idea I seen in a party book is to get uncooked pasta shells in differnt sizes and spray paint them then take shoe boxes or whatever you like and spray paint it gold give them to the kids with the sheels to decorate with the shells and lay out glitter glue, fake jewls and stickers. Maybe have a few coloring pages in the theme of coarse in cause someone fishishes early or does not want to participate.

Favor Ideas:
Costume Jewlery, Gold Chocolate Coins, Fish Squirt Toys, Beach Toys, Plastic Sea Horses and Fish, Swedish Fish, Bubbles, Platic Swords, Kaleidoscopes

http://familyfun.go.com/parties/birthday/feature/party1/party3.html

http://familyfun.go.com/parties/holiday/specialfeature/doca0603_pirates_sf/

If you do not choose the mermaid/pirate theme and would like ideas of another theme feel free to let me know because I always have ideas! I didn't even write everything that I could of for the mermaid/pirate thme. So feel free to e-mail me or send me an instand message if you need more ideas or would like to know more. I love doing this kind of thing.

Good luck with your party and I hope everyone will enjoy it and agree on a theme.

i moved to ireland but my daughter has no friends?

Q. Hi There, i moved to Monaghan in Ireland at the beginning of the year with my daughter and partner. My partner originally from here and my daughter and i are from Scotland. She is in Class 3 at school and is gettin on great there. She has many friends to play with at school, however after school is a different matter!!!! It is beautiful weather here just now and since she got in from school i have been trying to get her to go out to play, but she burst out crying saying she had no-one to play with. I told her to call on 2 friends that live at top of our street but she wouldnt go, i offered to go with her but still she refused, she finally calmed down after dinner and went to the park across the road from our house and was playing with a small child about 2 years old. I feel for her so much, she is really shy and just doesnt have the confidence to approach children to make friends. she is having a party next week for her birthday, and i have no idea who is coming as none of the parents have contacted me to inform me, not that long ago i wrote a few notes for my daughter to give to her friends, to give to their parents, just saying my daughter was new to the area and as my daughter and their daughter were friends at school could we arrange for them to play after school one day, not one of the parents contacted me. i know my daughter handed the notes to her friends as one of the parents passed by me the other day and apologised for not calling, but she had been really busy, even so i have still not heard from her. i was going to send her to irish dancing but she doesnt want to go as she doesnt know anybody, i told her thats how she will make friends but she wont budge. we didnt have this problem in scotland as she grew up in a small village and all the kids were really good friends. Im just worried that after 6 months she still has no-one. With parents not contacting me after ive written to them, im not sure what else i can do, but im worried about my daughter especially as the summer holidays start next week!!!! Any ideas??

Answer
That is so sad. And I find it incredibly rude of all the parents to have not responded to your party invitation.

Can you get your daughter involved in activities over the summer? Swimming lessons, sports activities, visit different playgrounds in the area.

I have a 9 year old daughter myself and I can only imagine the pain that you're feeling for her.

No one will come to my brothers party?

J

So its my brother 13th birthday next week and we and my older brothers arranged to take him and his school mates paint balling then coming back for a party. We sent out 30 invitations like 3 weeks ago and got two replies from being saying they can't come and the rest haven't said anything, and then the other day at school someone said 2 Gus that no one wanted to go to his party because he's a freak and he go really upset.

He has special needs apparently but it's weird kind and no one can really diagnose what exactly it is. He is basically like a little kid sometimes and can get really upset and throw tantrums. He's hyperactive and has a really short attention span and when we are out in public he just says things to people not realizing that he'll upset them, like your really fat or something, he says it like it's an observation. He is also really impulsive and just randomly takes things like the time he stole a penguin from the zoo (don't ask how he managed that one).

The kids at school started saying stuff about him a while back but my older brother wen to talk to them about it and they stopped so we figured he was fitting in all right. He's gonna get really upset if its just my brothers and there friends and no one from his school turn up but i don't know weather to just confirm the bookings with the numbers we got or try to talk some people from his school and convince them to go or something cos its really annoying that they basically wont go because they think he's weird and he's actually really nice and they just avoid him because of it , any advice on what i should do would be really appreciated?

Answer
It's a shame that no one will go to your brother's birthday party. Unfortunately, kids of that age don't understand your brother has special needs and will just dismiss him as 'weird' or strange. I would suggest organising something between yourselves for him for his birthday and buy him a really nice present, maybe something he has wanted for ages. Is there any place/club near your area that cater for kids with special needs? In Ireland, we have schools for them and they get to mix with people like themselves and make friends. Your brother would feel happier with kids with similar needs and wouldn't have to put up with immature brats making fun of him. I hope your brother enjoys his birthday, whatever happens.

Not knowing your skill level at manipulating images and text and such, I assumed a very basic level since you can't get free customized anything printed if you don't know at least a little bit about how to move things around on the page. And that's all you need to know, a little. These are both cute invitations, and both sites have other items if you don't really like either of these. Both items are free--you pay only for the paper and printer ink.

This free invitation includes Minnie and Mickey, and while the design is a little different than what you had for examples, you can customize this invitation with your own text, your own photos, your own graphics, and arrange them how you like them right on the webpage. You can then save the file to your computer to print later or print them right off the webpage, or you can even do both! Take your time with the customization...I noticed that when I worked faster than the customize tool, it slowed down almost to the point of freezing.

This set was designed for Shery's own daughter's first birthday. It is a whole Minnie Mouse birthday kit, with templates for printing party bags, cupcake wrappers and toppers, an invitation that resembles what you are looking for (add the photo yourself), and more. You download the kit for free and go to town at:

Good luck, and have a fun party!

What is a good format for an invitation to a party?

Cat DJ

I am having a b-day party. I want to create and invitation that is not too childish. I am 12 so I really need great invitation for a party. Helo!

Answer
First think of a theme. Then think of a cool way to match everything up. If it's an a hawaiian theme you can type the info onto a sheet of paper and glue it to a flower cut out in paper and lei your invitees. You could also buy cd's and make a mixed cd. Burn a skin with your party info on the top. You could paste the invitation onto a notebook if it's a theme that had to do with romance. Check the travel beauty section for mini lip balms/ sun blocks that could go with a beach theme. Type the invitation onto colored paper and include directions to the party. Have an intro:
Come celebrate with me! It's a bling party!
Ask your guests to arrive blinged out and have a prize for the most Glamourous looking guests. Wear your sunglasses the whole party and dress up. wear your mom's boa!

HiP Hop Party Peggy is twelve
HAve a dance off and a freestyle rap competetion.
Make up rapper names for your guests and make froot loop "gold chains"
Aloha! Bring your swimsuit to celebrate my bdaY!
Buy water guns and have a water balloon fight. Do a limbo under the water hose... even better if it's a punctured one. Do a sassy hula dance.
ALways include time, place, what you are celebrating, the time it will begin when it will end . Directions and what if anything you expect them to bring.
Bring a towel, Bring your favorite candy to share ( If you all are going to have a movie/scary themed party)
bring a change of clothes. Wear comfortable shoes.( Neighborhood scavenger hunt 007 themed party) Dress up fancy ... We Will be Glamorous.
Happy Birthday I hope these ideas help.

birthday party ideas?

schI3ssx3

ok so im turning 13 in February and i dont know what to do for a party theme! im inviting 8 people. im not that preppy. im kinda like a nerd :P what i like is, harry potter, the movie mean girls, funky bands like, weezer, mgmt, oh land, cage the elephant, paramore, etc. and i was thinking of a sleepover but i wouldnt know what to do... im kinda a akward person and i dont want to do pin the tail on the donkey :P i was also wondering if there was any places that would be fun for a party. my friend did a day at the spa but i think thats to expensive... and also if you say a party theme can you give some ideas about what we should do? thanks :) oh im also a girl :P

Answer
You could invite your friends and go camping or something. Or you could have your birthday party at an ice skating rink.
I mean, you could always do the whole "dinner and a movie" thing. I do that with my friends a lot, and you could even go to an amusement park or something.

Another cute idea would be to have a day at the beach! Invite your friends and have a little picnic, and then make a bonfire at night. I've never tried it, but it sounds cute.

Camp out birthday party ideas?

For my 14 bday party im having a sleepover. Im going to put up a tent in my backyard and thats where we are going to sleep durring the night. guest will arive at 4pm on saturday and will be leaving 11:30am on sunday. I have invited about 10 girls(including myself) but only 5 are sleeping over. the other girls are going to stay over till late just not sleep over.

What are some games we can do??

i have a Wii snd we are going to play on it for a bit...and also i have a outdoor fire place so we are going to have marshmellows!!
.

Answer
What a fun idea!! I think it would be fun to toast s'mores and sing campfire songs.

Here are three games you can play (two are special to be played in the dark with flashlights!):

#1 The Challenge Game:
Youâll need: Slips of paper and a Timer

Before the party write down âstuntsâ on pieces of paper, along with a time limit of how long they have to complete the action. You will want to create several stunts per guest. Fold them up and put into a bowl. Some suggested stunts: say the alphabet backwards, stand on your head or do thirty jumping-jacks

To Play, have a guest draw a stunt from the bowl. They must complete the stunt within the time limit given to earn a point (otherwise, no point!). Go to the next person, and continue until all guests have had a chance to play. You can do this game as long as the supply of written down stunts holds out, or you can end it after a certain number of rounds. The Winner is the party guest with the most points wins!

#2 Flashlight Hunt Party Game
Divide guests into teams and equip them with at least one flashlight. Then prepare a treasure hunt with clues to be done in the dark. Or, give each person a flashlight and hide things for them to find. Think of it as an Easter egg hunt in the dark. As a matter of fact, you can even use Easter eggs, filled with fun treats, candy, etc. for the guests to find in the dark. Put a few really great prizes in some â like a gift card or something, and youâll have guests really going after it! Tell the guests to only find a certain number of eggs (or whatever they are searching for) so that one person doesnât end up with a lot, and others end up with none!

#3 Flashlight Firefly âAnother game to play after dark if you have wide open spaces. Youâll a flashlight. Choose someone to be the Firefly and give her a flashlight. Have everyone hide their eyes while the she counts to 10. During this time the Firefly goes out into the dark yard. At the count of 10, the Firefly must flash the flashlight on and off. The Firefly can run around, hide, anything to avoid getting caught! Every few seconds the Firefly flashes the flashlight. Whoever catches the Firefly will be it next!

Of course, truth or dare is always perfect for a sleepover.

Good luck! What a fun idea!

Halloween Football Birthday Party?

Katrina

My husband will be turning 30 this year right after Halloween. I want to have his birthday party on the Saturday of Halloween. My general idea is to have a Halloween party and incorporate the fact that it's 30. In addition, to make matters worse, he is also an full fledged college football fan and we will need to have the Texas Longhorn vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys game going at the same time. Any ideas on how to pull this off? Especially with the invitations?
I know, its a CRAZY combination!

Answer
Have your fiends do a mock sports news cast and put it on DVD. Then play the DVD right at half time or when he is watching the game.

Something like...

Sportsscaster One: "This just in! (Say your hubbie's name) just turned 30 years old today on Halloween! I remember him when he (say mention funny or embarrassing moments in his life - nothing rude, of course)"

Sportscaster Two: "Boy, that's scary!"

Sportscaster One: "enough about him , lets get back to the game where the Texans (or his favored team) are going to lose their @!$! off! "

What are some unique birthday party ideas for turning 13?

I am turning 13 in Nov. and I want my b-day party, to soooo cool, and something I have NEVER done before. (i have done: spa party, Halloween party, sleepover(s), dinner\movie\sleepover, etc.) It has to be not too expensive, but not too cheap! have any GOOD ideas?

Answer
I suggested this before:
Movie party theme for hall or at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decoration kit and lots of decorations for this at oriental trading. com. If at home watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance in a hall with this theme. Have everhyone wear a movie star costume. Favors: black gold metallic beads from oriental, directors clapboard photo keychain from oriental, sunglasses from oriental or windy city novelities (make sure to buy adult ones).

Luau, beach Hawaii: Orientaltrading has the coolest decorations and favors for this theme and the cutest tropical invitation in the bottle. Give your guests leis as they come in. Play Limbo, Hula hoop, and have a few grass skirts and everyone (including the guys) have to give hulaing a try. Again if you have room to do this at home or you can rent a small room. Tropical pinata. Twister. Hawaii site including games: www.alohafriendsluau.com. Cool invite: Flower lei and attach a printed invitation card.

Neon/Glow in the dark This is a cool theme!
invites:
For the invites oriental trading has neon badges. They are neon nylon necklaces that have a clear plastic case. You need to make the cards on your computer using the business card maker on your computer or just use the MS Word. You might want to put a really big VIP in color and on the back at the top Nicole's Neon Bash in cool color and font and then the party info, who what when.

Oriental trading sells Neon gangster hats.

favors:
Oriental sells neon sunglasses.
Oriental also sells neon jelly bracelets
Glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces, lot of sites have these.
Neon Twist and Glow lollipops.
Neon nail polish u.s. toy company
Neon lazer candy (just like pixie sticks but in neon)
Neon slap bracelet at u.s. toy company
Decorations:
More neon themes go along with Glow in the dark.

windy city novelties has neon tablecloths, cups, napkins. Just type neon in their search bar.

Balloons:
Shindigz has black light sensitive neon latex balloons. Again put neon in their search bar.

Shindigz also sells a neon lights personalized banner.

Oriental trading sells a neon fringe banner

Oriental trading sells neon balloon weights for the balloons you buy.

Party cheap has neon party horns and garland.

Glow in the dark sites:
glow source
shop.glogames.com Lots of games here.
Light God

U.S. toy company sells neon body glitter.
Windy city novelties sell lumi balloons that are balloon with lights in them.

Large neon party pack (kinda expensive) at windy city novelties.

So to search for neon and glow items go to all the party sites ands put that in the search bar:

These appetizers were great at our sweegt 16:

Taco Dip:
2 softened cream cheese.
1 16oz sour cream
1 packet taco seasoning.

Mix with mixer. Put in bottom of a cookie sheet. Top with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and green onions. Use the cheese but you can altered the rest to your taste, maybe add black olives. Make 2 of these. Serve with tostitos scoops.

PUPPY CHOW
6 cups Crispix cereal
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
12 ounce chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave or on the stove. Stir into cereal. Put powdered sugar in a paper sack. Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated.
Silver Dollar Sandwiches:
These are silver dollar rolls made by your bakery in the grocery store. We have them in our store just ready to grab, for large orders call ahead for some. Anyway they are perfect for parties, hand size, neat. You buy shaved ham, beef and turkey. You put lettuce on if you want and some cut cheese into triagles and put on. Also put real butter on on side of the bun inside of course. And have mustard and mayo packets on ice in case anyone wants that.

GAMES:
Twister
limbo
get a pinata that matches a theme if you choose a theme.

Put a certain number of candies in a pie plate, fill with cool whip or whip cream and guests have to hold their hands behind their back and find the candies to win a prize.

Buy poster of a cute actor or singer (get one of a girl and one of a boy if you are having a coed party). Anyway, put lipstick on the guest, blind fold them and then spin them a couple times and put them in front of the poster and they have to kiss it. Whoever comes the closest to the actor or singers mouth wins a prize. This can be funny, especially if boys come and they have to put on lipstick.

Police/Jail: Isheriffs badges at shindigz. costumes and handcuffs at oriental trading.
Police line up board at oriental trading.
Police red flashing light at shindigz.
Police car cardboard standee at shindigz.
wanted posters at buycostumes.
Get some brick wall backgrounds to make a jail room or use for the walls at the stumps p

jackie

I'm having my 13th birthday party in about 3 weeks and I want to make homemade invitationss. any good ideas??

-has to be easy to make and has to be really really really cute :D-

Answer
A quick, easy, and fun way to create your party invitations is to go CropMom.com at http://www.cropmom.com. Cropmom is a online digital scrapbooking, collage, card making site.

Upload your photos. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation. The site has graphic kits organized by themes. The tutorials should be helpful.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the "share" link. It'll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen-quality invitation will be sent via email for free.

For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn't cost much-less than $2) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your invitation at home. Or have them printed by a photofinisher.

Last year I did a mall scavanger hunt thing but I want something diffrent this year. My mom said I could do anything and I wanted to invite alot of people. Please help me!!!

Answer
here are some ideas:

Pie Supper - Invitations are circles of tan card stock cut into pie-shaped wedges. With dark brown paint, make a fluted edge on each "crust". With scissors, make slits to let "steam" escape. Write time and place on reverse side of wedge. Pin each wedge to small paper plate. Of course the menu is pie, and have a spy, so that the one eating the most wins a prize.

Pancake Parade - Great after a slumber party. Get up, you sleepyheads; this is a morning party. If you perfer, make it late a late evening affair. Whatever the hour, the party's in the kitchen. For invitations, send miniature skillets, with a tag attached stating details.(Or use round coasters to resemble pancakes, and write details on them. Borrow extra griddles so that the pancake flipper can keep up with the demand. Have several types of pancakes: banana, pecan, buckwheat & etc. Different types of syrup: maple, strawberry, raspberry & etc. Whipped cream for topping. Hot cocoa.

Magazine Party - Here's a party with it's own entertainment. Guests come dressed as title of a favorite magazine; a prize for best one. For invitations, just paste front cover of a magazine onto piece of white paper; with marker write details on reverse side.(or cut each of 8 magazine covers (of same size) into 8 squares. Onto each piece of white paper, paste a square from each magazine.) Pin magazine covers to tablecloth. For refreshments, reproducing a tempting dish shown in a magazine color photograph. For games: Unscramble Mixed-Up magazine titles. Identify Trademarks - Cut 25 trademarks from magazines, paste on cardboard, then number 1 to 25. Give a sheet of paper & pencil to each quest. Ask guests to number paper 1-25. Show trademarks, one by one; let them jot down manufacturer beside correct number. Prize goes to highest score.

You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine - This is an idea for an after-movie snack. The gang splits up, and each person goes to the movie he'd like to see most. About 11 P.M. everyone meets at your place for: Soup & Blockbusters (Sandwiches).

On-the-Go Party - This is a co-operative affair. Everyone brings a prearranged fee and meets downtown. Hostess has planned two or three events--roller skating, a ride on a bus the gang doesn't usually travel on, ping-pong or darts in somebody's basement, Pop and Pizza at Pizza Piazazz, (Choose events to suit your locality.) Nobody knows plan of events except host or hostess.

Doughnut-Dunking Time - This party idea was borrowed and adapted from New Orleans. First serve "poor boy" sandwiches with coffee or hot cocoa. Then bring in a bowl of doughnuts--packaged ones, reheat in oven or automatic deep-fat-frying kettle. Have wooden bowls of granulated sugar--one for each guest or two. Everyone dunks his hot doughnuts in the sugar, a la The morning Coffee House in New Orleans French Market. And, of course, replenish the coffee or hot cocoa.

Victorian Formal Dance at Home - Have guests come dressed in Victorian Clothing. The music is the most important item in your budget. Skimp on everything but that. Let the invitations be worded formally, but not necessarily printed. Decorations can be the same as those listed in the Sweet Sixteen Party except use a Victorian Design wallpaper to make fans. Let younger brothers & sisters open the door and attend your cloakroom. You and Mother greet the guests. When the guests arrive welcome them with soft background music and a full punch bowl to be available throughout the evening. Have a buffet supper at midnight, perhaps. Remember that gentleman serve ladies. Little extras: good ventilation, good lighting, a dressing room for girls complete with powder puffs, and one for fellows with a mirror to straighten their ties. Plan on a Paul Jones very early in the evening plus novelty dances. Father's responsibility is to dance with the ladies that haven't been asked, or to suggest that a nearby gentleman do so.

"This is Your Life" Party - A party for a special friend of long standing, who is moving away or going to college. Make a recording, "This Is Your Life," complete with voices of friends, school-teachers, and so forth. Let the school song be the musical background. Visit our graduation ideas page for details on having a "This is Your Life" Party.

House-to-House Party - A progressive party where a food course is consumed at each house visited.

Misfit Party - Dress: Wear combinations of clothing ordinarily not worn, as bathing suit with furs. Give prize to the most original outfit.

Platter Dance - Blast from the past! Hang up a few dozen records (visit an antique store or make from back poster board)--on walls of your party room. Serve: cola drinks, platter cookies. Frost round cookies with chocolate frosting, with circle of white in the center. With cake decorator, print name of "record" on each. Play 50s music for dancing. Visit our 50s theme page for other decorations and party items.

FOR THE PINK THEME:

For invitation send a red rose; a little card giving details, tied to stem.

Cover table in pink cloth; top with pink net, gather each corner with a red ribbon bow. Tuck in roses. Accordian fold napkins as fans and tuck in roses. Add the ease and convenience of Sweet Sixteen paper goods to your party. They allow you to save time and money while adding color and excitement to your table.

Decorate using roses & fans. Make fans from paper (wallpaper works great) by accordian pleating paper, turn up about 1/3 at bottom and tie with red ribbon. Tuck in a few red roses. Tack up here and there, and everywhere in party room.

Menu: Strawberry Ice Cream, Heart Shaped Sandwiches, Pink-frosted cupcakes, covered with coconut ( Or, make a big cake, surround with a garland of roses, top it with a doll whose dress is identical with that of the guest of honor, Miss Sweet Sixteen.

As soon as guests arrive greet them with a full punch bowl, soft background music.

Prizes for novelty dances can be anything sweet--a box of candy, a box of cookies. Visit our Roses Theme page for more decorations & favors.

HELP!!! Planing a birthday party and I have to pay per child....?

Mommy of 4

So I am in the middle of making the photo personalized birthday invitations and I don't know exactly how to word this so parents wont be offended. Its a small room and we are only going to invite 8 kids because that's the party package. So how do I word it on the invite that its for 1 child and 1 child only and that that child must be accompanied by 1 adult. I have been to party's before where parents will bring their other kids(who are not invited and drop them off and leave)so they expect the parents throwing the party to include them(I can only understand it if its family) I also I don't want parents just dropping off there 2 and 3 year old's for 2 hrs. I have 5.5 month old twins my hubby will be there and my parents but still their parent needs to bee there. Please I don't want to be rude.

I thought about: Invitation admits only 1 child & he/she must be accompanied by 1 adult
The package I have includes 8 kids for 89.99 its an extra $6.50per additional kid and that's if I pay before the party. If its after its $8.50. I want to have a great party for my son I am gonna have a balloon twister and other things but If I go over our current budget something will have to go.
