Other than Evite birthday invitation?

Cheerfreak

is there a birthday invite website where i can give people the web address and theycan say yes no or maybe.

I do not have a cell phone, so I have no way to know if people are going or not going to my birthday party. I tried to use evite but there are too many people and I do not know their emails. Is there a website I can give the URL and they can RSVP?

Answer
Give them your email and tell them to write "Birthday RSVP" in the subject line. Then in the body type their response.

1st birthday party etiquette invitations for out of state family not attending--should I send invitations?

Imnotsweet

I'm sending out invitations for my baby's 1st birthday party. Most of our family is out of state and I know they won't attend. Is it forward of me to send out at evite or mail them an invitation?

Answer
Maybe email them and say "Wish you could be here for Baby's First Birthday". You never know and depending on how close family they are, they might just turn up so best to include them. We flew from the island where we live to attend our baby grandson's birthday.

Ideas on a boy under the sea bday party?

Kristen

Ryder will be turning ONE in June so I want to plan an amazing party for him!
(yes I know he wont remember but I will be taking a bunch of pictures and im sure his daddy will be video taping him so he can see later)
My fiance at first thought it was girly but there will be no mermaids or anything like that NOT an ariel party. I was thinking more 20000 leagues under the sea. Then he came around to the idea since we wanted to do a construction theme and safari when he is older.. to remember. And no I will not be putting my boy in a Sailor suit!~ Haha tho, I think its cute. But anyway back on subject. I want to plan a boyish party for him "20000 leagues under the sea" And i would love any ideas to capture that theme and make it a great party!

Answer
The wording of your under the sea birthday party invitations can say "Calling all Jellyfish, Sharks, Squid and Seals, too...There's going to be an adventure, and we'd love to share it with you! You're O-Fish-ally invited to come under the sea. It's (your child's name) Under the Sea Birthday Party!". Then include day, time, address.

To welcome your guests, hang balloons and streamers on your mailbox and front door. Put sea life posters on the fence, and hang plastic tropical fish from the tree branches. Fill kiddie pools with water, and place them in the yard.

Decorate your under the sea birthday party room with green and blue balloons. Hang green "seaweed" streamers from the ceiling, chairs, or from the top of a windowsill. Cut out starfish, seahorses, and other sea animals from construction paper. Tape cutouts to some of the streamers.

Cover the lights in the room with blue cellophane paper, which will give the party "under water" feeling. Spread out any stuffed sea animals that you might have around the room.

Have Mylar fish and dolphin balloons free-floating in the area, and have lots of blue latex balloons on the floor to create "ocean atmosphere." Hang a fish net in the corner of the under the sea birthday party room.

Put a blue or turquoise tablecloth on your under the sea party table, and then spread multi-colored confetti around it. Put plastic fish in a clear bowl for table centerpiece. Hang a personalized theme "Happy Birthday!" banner in the area.

Lots of goldfish too! It's a great snaking food for one-year-olds.

Then for cakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyBh2JNkTMI

have fun!

Cheap Birthday Party Ideas for my nine year old brother?

iloveshoes

His birthday is in ten days and we need to get started and figure out what he wants to do and see if we can manage it as far as prices go. We dont have alot of money to work with but any ideas count! He will be inviting about ten kids. He plays soccer, basketball, and baseball. He really likes video game. Hopefully that will help. Thank you!:)

Answer
My son had a birthday party for his 9th birthday in February. We invited all the boys in his class over and we served hot dogs and chips and orange soda (pretty cheap meal, actually) along with a home made birthday cake. It was cold outside, so we played games inside. It was a sports theme, and we played a basketball game where the boys lined up and tossed a mini-basketball in a garbage pail and each time they had to take a step backwards and eventually the kid who won got a prize. They loved that game so much we ended up playing it ten times even though there were no more prizes to win- they just wanted the title of "Winner". We also played musical chairs, which, believe it or not, the boys liked, and we played sports bingo. I made the cards for free with an online bingo card maker and we used pennies for bingo markers. We gave out little, cheap prizes. I didn't do too much decorating, just some balloons and streamers, but the dining room looked really festive for hardly any money at all! I did get sports plates, cups and napkins from the dollar store.

The point is, even if there are kids having expensive parties at gyms or pools, etc., most kids just like the attention given to them at their party and kids that age generally aren't materialistic and are just as happy to eat hotdogs or pizza and cake and get a little bit of candy in a goody bag on the way out! Simple is best- simple can be fun and super cheap! And keep it short- two hours is plenty for a party with a meal, games, birthday cake and maybe gift opening. Any longer than that and you will be going crazy- trust me.

You could have a party for 10 kids for about $25.00 if you shop at a dollar store, make your own food and cake, and make homemade invitations or use email to invite kids.

Balloons: $1.00
Streamers $2.00
Hotdogs and Buns: $4.00
Chips: $3.00
Soda: $2.00
Cake Mix: $2.00
Candles: $1.00
Cups, plates, forks, napkins: $4.00
Prizes and candy and goody bags: $6.00

I need help with wording for an invitation poem?

Laura G

My sister in law and I are planning a joint birthday party for our 2 and 3 year old daughters. We are making up our own invitations and we are stuck on some of the wording. We want guests know if they come for one child but don't know the other child, do not feel obligated to provide gifts for both. However we do feel that mentioning gifts is tacky. Here is what we have so far:

Cousins at heart,
Cousins at play, Kyleigh and Sabrina are having a special day!
A birthday of three

and a birthday of two,
The party won't be the same without you.

***Even though the party is for two,Doesn't mean you need to spend for two***.
Our main goal is to have you here,
To help us celebrate one more year!

The lines between the asteriks is what we want to change. There are too many "two's". And its important to keep it light hearted. Any suggestions?

Answer
Sabrina and cousin Kyleigh
Are having a special day.
It is a party for their birthday,
Please come and make it three.

Having a party just for two
Would not be to much fun
So this invitation is for you
to eat and play out in the sun.

Just a thought.

i need help with an invitation poem/wording ?

hello i am having a twilight theme birthday party and i was wondering if you could help?

twilighter

hi im a BIG TWILIGHT fan and well for my birthday party i would like a twilight theme.
i was wondering if you you could give me ideas for Food, decorations, activities, and other things you think i should do for my birthday?

Answer
Tell your friends to come dressed up as their favorite character. Or give fangs to anyone that comes it, you can get them at like the dollar store.

Decorations: Red, Black, White. Tie them in together. Get places with this color. Get posters, or write quotes from the book on poster boards and post them all over the room. Balloons: the same colors, it would look good if some of them were on the floor too. And on the make table put some apples, and pictures of the cast from twilight and the book series would looks amazing as a centerpiece.Try putting some roses too, it looks great.

For invitations : create some online, that will work perfectly.

For cakes: I suggest this one...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/30611184@N00/2717486890/
or you can just go to sam's and have them put a picture of the cast for like 21.00

Food: Red fruit punch of course. Hmm, you can have Doritos, since their red, and maybe some black chips, I'm not so sure about food. I got lost, maybe some with like devil in the name, deviled eggs, etc.

Entertainment: Have a twilight movie trivia and a book trivia. Watch the movie, or have some of your friends act out some of the scenes from the movie.

Try to have a twilight music playlist in the background. Debussi, Muse, and alot of the stuff from like that movie Underworld. Works perfectly.

Party favors: you can find like twilight bookmarks or stuff like that, and there are some things i've seen in stores.

Hope this helps :D

party night!?

Safira B

im havin a b-day party we are watching scary movies wat else would be fun to do with my teenage friends

Answer
Heya

If it's a birthday party, it helps to come up with a theme to build the party around. For example, if the party is going to be in the summertime you could plan a beach party, complete with a barbeque and evening bonfire.

Plan some games like beach volleyball or football that so they can burn off some energy. Heck, you could even truck in some sand and make it a real beach!

Some other party themes you could consider include:

- pool party

- pajama party (for girls)

- makeover "spa" party (for girls)

- action movie night (for boys)

- scary movie night

If you're having the party in your home you could consider a costume party. It doesn't have to be Halloween to put on a costume.

There are lots of themes you could choose from, including:

- favorite movie characters

- famous people from history

- a decade party (60's, 70's, 80's)

- murder mystery

When you send out the invitations, make sure you let their parents know that the party will be chaperoned.

An unsupervised party is always a concern for parents, and letting them know you'll be there to watch over the proceedings will put their minds at ease.

You might even think about having an "adults" party in another part of the house so the parents can come and have their own fun

Hope i helped - and enjoy your party i hope you have a good one!
xx

I'm having a birthday party and I don't know what games to play?

Abby Alder

So for my 15th birthday party we rented a hotel!! We already sent out invitations and booked the room, but we don't know what games to play?? There will be 8 girls in one room so the games can't be too loud. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

Answer
I was looking for a similar question that I had started to reply (forgot to put on watchlist before shutting down), and of course, most times its absolutely impossible to find again (most times?? always impossible for me!), so when I saw your question, I brought it up.

Seeing only one answer, and how the person responded, I really wanted to try and give you some ideas.

I have 3 daughters that are now grown, but all their birthday parties were done in our home with lots of games that completely wore me out, but much fun for the kids. They were each born in September, so it made for a busy month. Yet due to a tragedy that happened, our teen parties were limited.

Therefore, I called each of my 2 younger daughters for suggestions, and they both responded with the same two games. Apples to Apples is an awesome game that is good for all ages. The more people there are, the more fun it can be. You may already be familiar with it, or most likely at least one of your guests will have heard of it, and/or may even have the game. If not, a purchase will be needed to play this game (Target or maybe Walmart). It comes in a smaller size and a deluxe size which is what your party would really need to keep the fun going.

The 2nd game they each brought up (separate phone calls to them), was Guesstures. I have played Apples to Apples a few times, but haven' played Guesstures, although, every time my kids come to visit me they bring it (I moved to another state a few years ago), we just haven't got to it yet.

There is a game I made up back in the 70's (yes, I'm old - lol), and have continued to use it many times over the years, and can be designed for all ages and different events. Late last night I put my creative juices to work and wrote it all out. However, due to my time being restricted today, I will have to type it up later tonight, because it will take some time, as I will provide everything, and the best thing is, you don't have to spend any money to play it! I am waiting for a ride to go to Phoenix (2 hrs away from my home), so until she comes... Also, feel free to contact me, or have your mom contact me.

I have a few other ideas that I made up and used successfully several times. I'm the type of person that can't do anything simple. For example, when my daughter turned 21, her husband to be, took her to her favorite restaurant. In my mind, I thought, ok that's cool, but after all, she is turning 21. So without even telling him, I went to work creating it to be a night she would always remember. I was there to make it all happen, but she never saw me. I involved the customers, young & old that were going into the restaurant. Its easy to find strangers to help for a minute of their time, because they think its funny & they have fun with it. Even the people seated at other tables were laughing as they watched it all play out. Restaurant managers like it (I've done a variety of things as other places, at times not having to use others, yet they were always watching), its free advertising, because it causes customers involved and the ones who watched it, to talk about it later.

Before I became a housewife, I was the Corporate Meeting & Special Events Planner for an international software company. I had been promoted to this position from a field office in another state, because of the local seminars I had coordinated, and the office parties I created for birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, good-byes, etc.

My ride came a few minutes ago. I hope I haven't bored you, but I think I'm becoming one of those elderly ladies that at times, I would try to avoid because they talked your ears off! Now here I am...

Is postaljobplacement.com legit/safe?

Josue

I wanna see if i can get a job working for usps and this is site comes up first but is it safe? It asks for a refundable $70 and I wanna know if its safe before i give my credit card info. Thanks

Answer
You don't ever pay to find out about post office jobs. They are all listed for free on the official USPS website http://about.usps.com/careers/welcome.htm
That site is charging you money to find the same information available for free on the official government site
But just be advised that there are fewer and fewer jobs as people are rarely using USPS anymore. Because of the internet, people are now paying their bills online, getting their credit card statements electronically bank statements have gone paperless, they are sending e-greetings for birthdays/Xmas/etc, electronic invitations to parties, etc. Even junk mail markets are now spamming emails instead of mailing their materials
Just notice how much less mail you get every day vs 10 years ago. That's why so many post office jobs have been lost and so many smaller branches have been closed.

Birthday Party Invitations?

Courtney L

I am having a 13th birthday party and I need to know a good layout for my Invitations. I have special paper (cupcake/candles(sounds corny but is really cute<33) and I don't know how to set it up. Please help. Pictures are allowed<33 thanks!

Answer
I think u should do this:
It's my birthday, so lets party!!!
who
where
when
what you will be doing during the party

Then, decorate it with doodles, sequins, paintings, whatever u want!!!! u could also roll it up and put it in a bottle, fold it into origami, glue or tape it to a bigger piece of paper, give it a border....
there are about 2 billion other things you could do but there are some starters.

Hope this helps!!!!

13th birthday party help?

Melanie B

Ok for my 13th birthday party I have all of this done.

-The 2 possible restaurants
-Cake place/Maybe cupcake place
-Balloons
-All 20 invitations
-Movie

What else can you suggest, what else do I need?

Answer
Well, let's see. For my 13th birthday party I....Don't rember what I did. Although it was last yeaer. 0.o for my 14th I went to a Go Paint! place..
OH! For my 13th I went to a pool. xD

I suggest getting cray{sp?} paper of your favorate colors and stringing it around.
If you going to a non fancy restraunt, I would ask them to paly yuor favorate CD {You should bring it}

Personally, I like cakes better because they generally look nicer, try getting a special designed one. Instead of just choosign a cake, see if the cake place will make one that you edited.

For the movie, you might try to reserve seating, I don't know if a theater will do that, but if your having over 20 kids {21 plus you, and possibly siblings or parents} thne you'll want to reserve a few rows.

OR get there extra early.

Err. Thats all I can think of..
HAVE FUN!!

Should we decline the birthday party invitation?

Q. The little boy I used to baby-sit (when he was 3) is turning 6 and having a birthday party. Every year since then his mother has invited us and our children to his birthday parties even though we have been out of his life now a few years. The last party of his that we attended, we didn't know anyone there and we were getting the, "who the hell are they" looks from people. Would it be okay to decline the invitation but send a small gift in the mail to the boy?

Answer
It's very nice for them to invite you but you are not obligated to attend or even send a gift. You babysat him a long time ago and you are uncomfortable going to the party. I'm sure the parents would be okay if you didn't show up if you let them know why.

I need a little help planning a SURPRISE/COMBINED Birthday?

Mary C

Trying to plan a combined SURPRISE birthday party for my brother who is turning 40 and my Mom who is turning 60. Birthdays are 2 weeks apart. Any ideas/suggestions as far as invitations, etc?

Answer
okay if you having a :

house party: Empty the living room for some space and fill the whole living room, toilets, bathroom and kitchen with coulourful balloons saying happy 40th birthday. you could try and hire some lights and stuff from 2mix.co.uk and their number is 02077945151 and put them in the living room and invite all of his friends and you could also give the party a theme of his favourite character e/g supeman and superwoman for the men and the ladies and get some party food like wine and junk food or bbq if you have a garden or balcony and a big birthday cake made with the shape of a bum one side saying happy birthday and one side saying 40 and choose a selection of his favourite music and finally for the surperise , ask your mum to take him out to lunch or something while you and some friends
(not the guests / his friends) decorate the house and make the food and stuff and for the invitation depending on the theme choose something that relates to the theme e/g superman , you could make a card with the triangle and an S on the front and at the back write the details and dont forget to tell them about the theme of the party and at the bottom write Shhhh KEEP IT A SECRET
ITS A SURPERISE !

hope you like it

and a nice present would be to buy an album from T-kmaX and put some nice pictures of you and your brother only to make it special and wait till the party is over make sure you take lots of pictures and then fill the album up with lots of pictures and then give the album to his as a present. and dont forget to surperise him turn the lights of just like in the movies and when he comes in everyone be ready to turn the lights on, the music, ask everyone to turn one thing on .

Need help planning a 16th birthday party?

kimmy

My daughter's 16th birthday isn't until 2011, but I have no idea where to start, so I am just gathering information and ideas.

It is not going to be a formal "Sweet 16" with all the girls and guys and fancy dresses, just like a big birthday party. She said she would have about 30 friends, so altogether, including the family, we estimate will be between 60-75 people. We know someone who will contribute the cake for the party, so that is not a problem. I would prefer to have someone cater, and would definitely need to do it in some kind of hall or something. I was thinking:

Community Center?
do our own invitations and decorations
have the food catered
maybe hire a freelance photographer (One of the parents I know does this)
We also know a close friend of family that can DJ

I had also thought of sectioning out an area of a restaurant, but then we can't play loud music, which is a big deal. Catering Halls are Super Expensive, and doing it at home is completely out of the question.

Also do I have to give "souveneris" or whatever they are called ...Keepsakes?

I've never done a 16 party, and never been to one, so I have no idea..Thanks

Answer
what about giving the party a theme?
like for example, barbie, if she's into hair extensions, fake tan etc.
or alice in wonderland?
or old hollywood
or guys and dolls etc,
my 16th is coming up, i've themed everything

INVITES
you could roll them up and tie them with a bow
also, if you print the invites on photo paper it makes them look professional,

DRINKS
will alcohol be served? if so, thinkgs WILL get damaged, and there will be stuff happenning, one of my friends mums let her have a ''little bit'' ,we all got wrecked, someone who shall not be name was sick, i ended up doing stuff with this guy, it was horrible, id recommend you don't serve it lol.
soem themes might call for pink drinks, ie pink lemonade, or whatever, remember you can use food colouring. or perhaps cocktail umbrellas if the theme is sophisticated?

FOOD
nibbles ;D
use food colouring again.
you could use cookie cutters based on the theme, that'd be well cool man: L
or like, stuff that fits a theme, perhaps pineaplle etc for a tropical theme, lots of chocolate for a hollywood thing, etc

FAVOURS.
something which fits in with the theme ;)
ie, idk, if it was a hollywood theme, sunglasses for everyone, etc

hope you like this idea.
sorry if i impose,
but coulod you pelase try and answer my question?

40/50/60 birthday party theme! - help!!?

alma c

I am helping my cousin organize a multiple birthday party for my sister who is going to be 40, my aunt - she is going to be 50 and my dad he is going to be 60. We don't know what theme to use or how to decorate! This party will be after Christmas since their birthday is at the begining of January. ANY IDEAS? Thank you!

Answer
I would go with black and white, maybe with a splash of red. Polka dots and gingham and stripes. Black and white balloons. You could do something with the number 150---that's the number of years they all add up to! A one and a half century party? You don't need a theme, but you could do a 40's, 50's and 60's party (going by the eras that each of them grew up in). Have various decor relating to each era, and a mix of music from those three decades. A three tiered cake with each tier decorated like one of the decades (I'm thinking tie dyed or hippie flowers for the 60's tier---)

Check ebay for custom invitations. Lots of crafters out there will make invites to your specs. Or just use Evite.

I need help making an invitation for my father's 60th birthday party!!?

MJ

We are having the party at a hall and it is being catered by a restaurant. I want to make the invitation myself, and use pictures from my dad's life (a baby photo, a childhood photo, his college graduation photo, a more recent photo, etc). Any ideas? I know someone who did something like:

Our dad has been:

a baseball coach
a loving son and brother
a Boy Scout leader
etc, etc. and listed the many things they have been throughout their life.

I can't think of anything nice to do like that, with the photos! Any ideas at all???

Thanks!!

1st birthday party invitation ideas...?

b'smom

My baby boy is turning one in a couple of weeks and I need some ideas on what to put on the invitation... for ex: Come for cake and lots of fun, our little boy is turning one. It doesn't necessarily need to rhyme, but I do want to put a picture of him on it with all of the party information. Also, any extra ideas for a first b-day party would be great! Thank you!!

Answer
we're doing a baseball theme for our son. it's really simple, but boyish. plus his daddy loves baseball. i made his invitations myself. they look like tickets to a baseball game. i'm actually really proud of them. we're going to have little snacks for the guests like cracker jacks and boiled peanuts. i'm making "all star" sandwiches by cutting them with star cookie cutters. birthdayexpress.com is a cute website if u just want general 1st birthday decorations and stuff. your local party store should have some things too. if u wanna see my invitation, u can email me bethwitt86@yahoo.com. hope this helps! good luck with the planning!

Camping teen party !?

Q. Camping teen party !
Question Details: Hey im 15 and im having a party !! Ive got a big tent and we are going to sleep in the garden so as you can guess its a camping themed party !!

We will be outside nearly all the time and we will go inside to play some cool games ! Can you give me some REALLY fun sporty ideas and just silly games for outiside !! Like basketball and stuff ........ some like detective games nd stuff !! haha

I also want some good inside games like spin the bottle and stuff !! I dont want the typical eat pizza , give makeovers beacuse there are going to be about 5 girls and 5 boys !!

And also what should wear because its fancy dress ? I need a cool outfit that ties into camping !!

Oh and also what could I wear for a beach themed party ?

Oh and also how should I decorate the back garden ??

Answer
Since its the middle of winter, I'm hoping you are postponing your camping party until the weather heats up a bit and the snow and ice have sufficiently melted! A "campout" is really no different than slumber parties we used to have as kids during the summer in the back yard, except we didn't use a tent! Here are some ideas:

1. Set your tent up for sleeping only (I'm going to assume that you won't be having a communal sleep over with the boys and the girls). If you ARE planning on having a coed sleepover, get your parents and your guests parents approval ahead of time. Make appropriate sleeping arrangements for the guys as well.
2. Contact a rental company for a basketball hoop, bouncy houses, etc. for your yard. You can also set up croquette, a scavenger hunt, volleyball, and even lawn bowling.
3. Dance anyone? Rent a dance floor and d.j. for evening festivities
4. Indoor games might include a game like "Clue" wherein everyone dresses up and participates in the drama. You might also contact your local college theatre troop to see if they can help you with this.
5. Decorations should be simple and appropriate for your theme. If you have a "dressup" party, then you might want to keep things elegant using little white lights, candles, flowers, balloons.
6. Food can be pretty much what you like, although you said you don't want pizza etc. Other ideas might include: chicken tenders on skewers with peanut butter sauce, veges with ranch dressing, pasta with fresh tomatos, artichoke hearts and shaved parmesan, "grown up cheeseburgers" using ciabatta rolls, artisan cheeses, fresh ground sirloin etc., homemade "fries", using sweet potatos and regular russets, sprinkle with minced garlic and parmesan. Add some fanciful sorbets in martini glasses and your favorite desserts.
7. Create a "signature" drink for your party, perhaps a "mock' cocktail? You can serve up alcohol free margaritas,
champagne punch" , "cosmopolitans", "razzatini's" and "mojitos" that will add some class to your event.
8. Don't forget creating "gift bags" for your guests. Most young folks like gift cards to their favorite restaurants, coffee haunts, and game stores. Candy, phone cards etc. are good additions.

Anyway....check your budget and get your parent's approval before you jump into anything!

Anyone got any party ideas??

Me and my friend are turning 14 in less than a month and we want to have a joint party with about 16 of our friends (boys and girls) and we were wondering what we could do, which wouldnt be too expensive. We dont want a disco because we had one last year and we were thinking of camping in a field? But do you have any other suggestions?

Answer
Themed parties, in my experience always have a great turnout and people have so much fun creating their costumes. I'll give you some ideas, but the first thing I thought of was a 14 karat gold party. My friend turned 24 and had a 24 karat gold party. It was great. Everyone dressed with as much "bling bling" as possible (heavy elaborate fake jewlery, shiny gold and silver clothing). It's fun to get created with the costumes, and it's easy to find things at thrift stores.

Other ideas:
-Toga party
-ugly sweater party
-worst moment caught on camera (everyone wears the worst picture they have of themselves...its fun to laugh at each other knowing you're all doing the same thing)
-end of the world party (everyone dresses as if they survived a nuclear explosion. this usually brings lots of glow in the dark paint, its fun to look at!)
-sharpie party (everyone wears white shirts and you write fun messages on each other's...also a nice party favor)
-black and white party (everyone gets dressed up in only black and white...all decorations black and white, all photos in black and white...very posh event),

The possibilities are endless when you inform your guests of what to wear, and the pictures will be memorable!

10 year old Birthday party Ideas?

My2Boyz

Okay, my son is turning 10 on August 5th, he wants a "water party" meaning, he wants a water slide and water guns in a park. So what are your ideas for invitations, games, do i still give out treat bags? if so, what do i put in it? Do i get entertainment?

Answer
I looked up several sites and have a few suggestions for you.

1. You can have a water gun fight with small toy water guns. They are easily purchased at dollar stores. You could let the kids keep these guns to take home as party favors if you wanted.
2. Having towels set aside for the children is a good idea.
3. Water balloon fights are great fun, and you can get even wetter than with regular water guns! You should have several water balloons pre-filled and set in buckets filled with water. This way they float in the water instead of resting on each other and breaking. You could have several buckets around the area you're having the party in. However, if you're going to have really young children, you'll have to be careful to pick up the balloon remains, as they can be a choking hazard.
4. Depending on how large your budget is, you can also buy stuffed fish/ocean animals and put them at the centerpiece of your birthday table. You can buy enough for each of your guests to take one home, or have a raffle.
5. In case of rain, you might have another date saved for this occasion or just have lots of indoor activities. For inside, you might choose blue and green balloons for decorations.
6. And, just in case you're baking the birthday cake yourself, I listed a site that has a suggestion for making a cake shaped like a fish. Watermelon would also be a fun food for a water party.
7. The second link listed below has a LOT of water games suggestions you might check out.

So, just a few fun ideas. I hope this helps you out. Good luck!

My 6-year old's birthday party - need etiquette help!?

Gail M

My daughter and her best friend decided to have one big birthday party, since they were born only 6 days apart. Will guests who know both girls begrudge the idea of having to buy 2 gifts when only one party is being held? Is there any way to tactfully tell the guests that they don't have to give each girl a "full-sized" gift, but can give each girl a smaller gift? After all, we plan to send home only one joint party favor bag per guest.

We thought this was a great idea, but now I'm feeling kind of cheap and tacky. Help!

Answer
How about donating the gifts to a children's hospital or something of that nature? On the invitations you could just say "All gifts will be donated to XYZ Children's Hospital", that way they can just buy what they want and your daughter and her friend will learn something about giving to charity. I'm sure you'll want buy the girls a nice gift yourself, but the party itself is as much fun as receiving gifts.

yellow party theme?

Amaryllis

i'm turning 16, so this party has to be extra special. my favorite color on this earth is yellow, so i decided i wanted to have a "yellow" party instead of the celebrity, "white party." i want to write on the invitation something about making sure you wear yellow, things like that. i'm going to wear purple so i'm noticed, since that's another favorite. i want to have all kinds of yellow foods: pineapples, bananas, deviled eggs, cheese, mustard, anything yellow. but i'm having a hard time thinking of other foods, items, and decorations, music, anything that would go perfectly with the yellow theme. any suggestions? i'm open to so many things! i'm very bubbly and creative, so anything that would grab attention would be fabulous too! :] thanks guys [and girls, of course!]

Answer
my idea...go all out!!! you said you're bubbly, so here's some stuf i think you'll like!!!

i googled and found these amazing sites!!! -http://www.partybox.co.uk/themes.asp?theme=93

http://www.pinatas.com/Yellow_Party_Supplies_s/327.htm

so here's what i think you should do. get anything and everything yellow. no matter what theme(s). get yellow paper and cover the walls. you can have people sign it as a different form of guestbook. then put yellow crepe paper and balloons on the ceiling. let yellow balloons float on the floor. then put some in bunches around the room.

then hang yellow Chrsitmas lights. find other yellow lights to put up. and change regular lightbulbs out for yellow ones. and put out yellow flowers.

you can give people yellow leis, rubber duckies, smily face stickers and temporary tattoos. have yellow face paint, and have everyone wear as much yellow as possible. give every1 who wears yellow yellow beads. and give a prize to the person who goes all out.

for food you can have deviled eggs, lemon jello, lemonade, lemon merange pie, yellow jelly beans, mac and cheese, mustard dip, bananas, pineapple, starfruit, mango, corn, cheese, lemons, cake w/yellow frosting, lemon ice cream.

good luck, have fun, and happy birthday!!!!! i love your theme idea!!!!!

Answer
You are a doll for wanting to make this so special! I have a few ideas...You could do a fun sports-themed party - have everyone wear Yankee colors or something tiger striped for the Bengals. Do the decorations the same way! Or do a 50's theme party with music from the 50's, have everyone dress up from the 50's. Or he was 20 during the disco craze, so that could be fun! He'd probably get a lot of laughs out of that since he lived through it - find a great picture of him in some 70's clothes and blow it up and hang it at the party! Make sure you have some disco music and a disco ball! Have everyone wear bell bottoms and polyester!

Camping Party Ideas?

digger

My son is turning 4 this summer and we want to camp out and have a cowboy theme.

I do not have a lot of money to spend (next to nothing). What are some ideas for food and acitivites? Would it be easy for us to fish, having had never fished before?

Answer
Is this a party with other 4 year olds - or just you and your son?

I having a camp fire - see if you can find jiffy pop pop corn.

Hot dogs - smores.

Fishing is not easy to learn on your own. Unless others are there I'd look for something else.

Practice roping - create fake cow out of cardboard (refrigerator box).

Toy guns? Water pistols - shoot out lit candles.

camp rock premiere party planning, any ideas?

DancaGurl7

Im having a camp rock premiere party and i need ideas for games and decorations and cool stuuf. submit any ideas you have! Thanx

Answer
Okay, so this is totally what I'm doing for my Camp Rock Party! Sorry it's so long but I am just so so so excited!!!

What to theme your party around and how to decorate!

I am themeing my party around camping. Like we are actually going to pretend we are at Camp Rock.

Then I chose a color theme of blue and purple because they are cute and it matches a lot of pictures from Camp Rock and it matches my shirt. (I explain my shirt later)

Then I got purple and blue plastic table clothes, streamers, TONS of balloons, cups, plates, and utensils.

I wanted camp rock plates and stuff, but you can't order them online yet and you can buy them at Party City, but their isn't one in my entire state! So instead I am getting purple and blue ones and then I am going to print pictures from the movie off on my computer and then take watered down Elmer's Glue and decoupage them to the edges of the plates and sides of the cups. I actually just read you can get them at Target so I am totally checking there tomorrow!

Then I am just going to cover everything in balloons and streamers! I might even cover the walls in the plastic purple table clothes you can get at the dollar store and the put blue balloons and streamers everywhere so my friends hardly recognize they are in my basement! I also found some really cool squigely balloons at the dollar store and some tinsel and stuff. Plus I am going to print out more camp rock pictures and tape them onto fishing line and hang them on the ceiling so they are kind of floating, and I am going to hang purple and blue musical notes and stars too! It will hopefully look really cool!

What to wear!

I bought a Camp Rock shirt from Target! I actually got it in the little girls section and it is supposed to be a night gown but it just looks like a long shirt on me and it actually reminds me of something Demi Lovato would wear. Then I am hoping to find maching jewelry so I look super cute. I am going to talk to my friends and see if they want to buy matching shirts also!

Or you can print off the iron on things from http://tv.disney.go.com/disneychannel/originalmovies/camprock/index.html onto a plain white T-shirt and then write you and your friends names in Sharpie on the back. You could even each put a name from the movie on your back like Mitchie, or you could use the actors actual names like Demi.

What to eat!

Since we are theming our party around camping we are going to eat foods you eat while camping like maybe hotdogs and chips for dinner, but I haven't decided for sure. Then of course we are going to have s'mores, and other candy and snacks like trail mix!

And the most amazing thing will be a cake I am going to make! I love decorating cakes! Is going to have three layers and little edible Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato on top! It will be purple and blue also, and taste super yummy! You could definitely just buy a cake that is purple and blue and some stores will put edible pictures on them so you could put a camp rock picture on it or just have them write, "Rocking at CAMP ROCK" or something like that. They might even have Camp Rock cakes made up because I know they did for High School Musical 2!

What to do!

Well one of the things we are going to do is film a music video! We are obviously going to use one of the songs from the soundtrack, probably "We Rock," but I'm not sure yet. We are going to choreograph it and mouth along. We might even cut guitars out of cardboard and decorate them with glitter and paint. Then my Dad is going to edit it and add cool special effects. While he does that...

We are going to watch a DVD that I put together of all my favorite Jonas Brother You Tube videos! It is definitely going to make us laugh really really hard!

Then we are going to watch our music video.

Also when my friends come in I am going to have "Start the Party" playing, because what song fits more! It's from Camp Rock and we are going to START THE PARTY!

Then we are going to play this game I made up. It is similar to "What If..." if you have ever played that. You get lots of little pieces of paper and pass out like 20 to each person. (my paper is definitely going to be blue and purple) Then each person writes one question they would ask the Jonas Brothers if they ever met them. Then everyone folds their paper up and puts it into the middle. Next everyone draws somebody elses question and writes what they think the Jonas Brothers answer would be on the back. Then once again you put your papers in the middle and draw a new one. Then one person reads the question on their paper, and the person to their left reads their answer to a different question. So the question might be "Who was your first crush?" and the answer might be, "Nick." It always turns out being really funny! (If that didn't make sense you can email me and I will explain it better)

We are also going to be having a sleep over and because it is themed around camping I'm going to set up a tent in my garage. This way we feel like we are really camping and because I'm in my garage I can stay up late and be loud and my parents won't wake up!

If I need something else to help pass the time then I am going to pull out all of my Jonas Brother magazines and we will read them and look at the pictures. Or we might just talk about what we think will bein Camp Rock like "Will Joe and Demi (actually Shane and Mitchie) kiss?!" We might also give eachother "makeovers" before our music video so we totally look like rock stars!

I am also going to make little gift bags for my friends and in them I am going to put a copy of the DVD with our music video on it so they remember the party forever, and the DVD I put together of the Jonas Brothers YouTube videos, pictures of us at my party that I will print off of my computer and definitely candy! And I also just heard you can buy camp rock plastic baggies at Target too, so I will check that tomorrow also!

I really hope this helped you! I have been planning this for months and I totally can not wait! I know this sounds like a party for 10 year olds, but I'm 17 and I know my friends and I are going to have a blast! We are just totally crazy and obsessed with the Jonas Brothers! But the best part of the night will definitely be SEEING CAMP ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
