I sent out 27 birthday party invitations...only three people r.s.v.p. 'd!!!?

Teresa

They are mostly in-laws and they are people that mostly I do not even know!! I was given a list of addresses and sent them with specific instructions to r.s.v.p. via phone, text email...and included all my info!!! Only three people responded!! I gave them a month and the r.s.v.p. date is 2 weeks before the party!! What do i do?? And isn't that kinda rude to not respond?? (they are in-laws and Korean, but surely they speak English!) It is for my son's first birthday party! Which is a big deal for Korean culture. I'm kinda upset about it...do i assume they are coming? Or not coming?? I need to know so i can tell the restaurant it is being held at.
They are not strangers. They are in-laws!! I have met them like a few times.
It was very clear and i made it very easy for them!

Answer
you can't impose an obligation on a third party , I would guess your invitation was not clear , the alternative is that nobody likes you or cares about a 1st birthday, if you want responses from strangers you need to enclose a reply form and a prepaid envelope

I'm having a birthday party and I don't know what games to play?

Abby Alder

So for my 15th birthday party we rented a hotel!! We already sent out invitations and booked the room, but we don't know what games to play?? There will be 8 girls in one room so the games can't be too loud. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

Answer
I was looking for a similar question that I had started to reply (forgot to put on watchlist before shutting down), and of course, most times its absolutely impossible to find again (most times?? always impossible for me!), so when I saw your question, I brought it up.

Seeing only one answer, and how the person responded, I really wanted to try and give you some ideas.

I have 3 daughters that are now grown, but all their birthday parties were done in our home with lots of games that completely wore me out, but much fun for the kids. They were each born in September, so it made for a busy month. Yet due to a tragedy that happened, our teen parties were limited.

Therefore, I called each of my 2 younger daughters for suggestions, and they both responded with the same two games. Apples to Apples is an awesome game that is good for all ages. The more people there are, the more fun it can be. You may already be familiar with it, or most likely at least one of your guests will have heard of it, and/or may even have the game. If not, a purchase will be needed to play this game (Target or maybe Walmart). It comes in a smaller size and a deluxe size which is what your party would really need to keep the fun going.

The 2nd game they each brought up (separate phone calls to them), was Guesstures. I have played Apples to Apples a few times, but haven' played Guesstures, although, every time my kids come to visit me they bring it (I moved to another state a few years ago), we just haven't got to it yet.

There is a game I made up back in the 70's (yes, I'm old - lol), and have continued to use it many times over the years, and can be designed for all ages and different events. Late last night I put my creative juices to work and wrote it all out. However, due to my time being restricted today, I will have to type it up later tonight, because it will take some time, as I will provide everything, and the best thing is, you don't have to spend any money to play it! I am waiting for a ride to go to Phoenix (2 hrs away from my home), so until she comes... Also, feel free to contact me, or have your mom contact me.

I have a few other ideas that I made up and used successfully several times. I'm the type of person that can't do anything simple. For example, when my daughter turned 21, her husband to be, took her to her favorite restaurant. In my mind, I thought, ok that's cool, but after all, she is turning 21. So without even telling him, I went to work creating it to be a night she would always remember. I was there to make it all happen, but she never saw me. I involved the customers, young & old that were going into the restaurant. Its easy to find strangers to help for a minute of their time, because they think its funny & they have fun with it. Even the people seated at other tables were laughing as they watched it all play out. Restaurant managers like it (I've done a variety of things as other places, at times not having to use others, yet they were always watching), its free advertising, because it causes customers involved and the ones who watched it, to talk about it later.

Before I became a housewife, I was the Corporate Meeting & Special Events Planner for an international software company. I had been promoted to this position from a field office in another state, because of the local seminars I had coordinated, and the office parties I created for birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, good-byes, etc.

My ride came a few minutes ago. I hope I haven't bored you, but I think I'm becoming one of those elderly ladies that at times, I would try to avoid because they talked your ears off! Now here I am...

How do you throw a Webkinz Virtual Party?

TPA

I am looking for ideas and suggestions on how to throw a Webkinz party online for friends. If you were given and invitation from a birthday party you went to for a virtual party in your favor bag and it gave you a date time and the birthday child's user name would that work to get you there?
The guest could then add them to their friends list and be added to the birthday child's when they are notified.
They would then get invited in the room and have to bring a gift with them.
I would love ideas and suggestions for more things. Thanks in advance.

My 14th birthday Help!?

Tash

Ok so my 14th birthday is coming up and im doing a neon/glow in the dark theme. what will I need, food, games etc. My budget is tight what do I dooo?? Umm also what should I do for invitation and stuff.. Thnks ohh also what music should I play also alot of my parties have sucked. So yeah umm I don't have a ton or a lot of friends about how many should I invite. I don't have a huge house I have a townhouse type thing. Like It's one house then split in two and I live in half. Also my basement is of limits so is the attic and 1/3 of the rooms upstairs. So that leaves my room the guest room and the main level are in limits so yeah also I'm gunna have some people sleepover. Ok that's it thank you.

Answer
Well, try asking friends to bring movies and stuff, for 5 bucks you can get medium pizza from little cesars or pizza pizza, and maybe popcorn and chips from a sale like 2/5$ or something?? Also, Walmart has a sale on 2L pop for 1$ each, Idk if the sale is still on might wanna check ASAP! And.......... for games-
-charades
-duck duck goose (outside) and make the person do a chicken dance in the middle randomly)
- heads up 7up (only if u have enough people)
- tell idiotic, funny stories
- would you rather
- truth or dare
- spray everyones face with water and fill a frying pan with flour and smarties and make them dip their face in XD
- water balloon fight
- cover a watermelon in vaseline, throw it back and forth, slowly back up and eventually if someone missesm it may explode XD
- hula hoop contest

and for glow in the dark, stop by the dollarstore (for most of your supplies) pick up some glowsticks/glownecklaces wear anything glow in the dark unless you have an ultra violet light....... and get finger flashlights!!!
Best of luck and happy birthday! *Gives virtual cake and presents*

Birthday party invitations?

Mercy

My daughters birthday is October 5 (rigth before Holloween) Her party is going to be October 7, she wants a theme party which is Sleeping Beauty Trick o Treat Party. Where the kids have to come with a costume. But when exactly schould I hand out the invitaions?

Answer
October's usually not too bad of a time for scheduling things, especially early in the month. Since your daughter wants a themed party with children in costume, I would recommended 3 weeks to a month ahead of time. That way parents have time to prepare a costume as well as get a gift. This is especially helpful to those parents on a budget!

Should we decline the birthday party invitation?

Q. The little boy I used to baby-sit (when he was 3) is turning 6 and having a birthday party. Every year since then his mother has invited us and our children to his birthday parties even though we have been out of his life now a few years. The last party of his that we attended, we didn't know anyone there and we were getting the, "who the hell are they" looks from people. Would it be okay to decline the invitation but send a small gift in the mail to the boy?

Answer
It's very nice for them to invite you but you are not obligated to attend or even send a gift. You babysat him a long time ago and you are uncomfortable going to the party. I'm sure the parents would be okay if you didn't show up if you let them know why.

13th birthday party ideas,Help!?

Meagan K

Okay so im turning 13 and im having a party with about 15 people.
Its boys and girls.
I dont know what we can do and I dont just want to be sitting there bored,
Any ideas?

Answer
go to http://birthdaypartyideas.com/

They have great themes and ideas for all different ages! It's cool!
Pick a theme like HOLLYWOOD or THE 70's and then do things revolving around that theme! That website has some great ideas for ANY theme that you pick!
Play some games- have good music and good food!
You can have PIZZA , chips and dips, nachos/salsa/cheese, and then ICE CREAM SUNDAES. Everyone can make OWN sundaes! Have a couple different flavors of ice cream and some toppings!

You can do dance contests and KAROAKE!

If you don't want to do a HOUSE party, Laser TAG is fun for both boys and girls OR a Bowling party with a arcade!

Boy-Girl Dance Parties
A common misconception by parents is that 13 year olds want to have their first boy-girl dance party. Although often shown in television and movies as the only 13th teen birthday party idea, many children can end up feeling shy and embarrassed at these events. While you may be excited about the fact that your daughter is now a âwomanâ and want to help âintroduceâ her to your friend Susanâs son, consider your daughterâs maturity level and that of her friends. Is she still shy and giggling around boys? Or has she gone on a few group dates already?

Should you decide to host a dance party for your child, make sure you have plenty of party food available, like pizza, chips, pop, and cookies. Have your child make mix CDs of their favorite dance songs and put them in a multi-disc player, so no one is left manning the music. Let your child know that you or your spouse will be checking into the party periodically.

Finally, have a back-up plan. Should the dance portion of the party flop, have several movies rented and make it a movie-night. Be open to suggestions of what your teen wants to do as well, if it does not work out. Head to the ice cream parlor or out for coffee and hot chocolate if the kids seem restless and bored.

Sleepovers are highly popular amongst teenagers. Every holiday, you will find school kids planning sleepover parties at their friend's place. So a sleepover birthday party is a very interesting 13th birthday party idea. You can be sure that the kids will like it. At the same time, it is easy to organize. You can use the Christmas lights to decorate the room.

Moreover the kid's room should be made cozy and comfortable. You can arrange for extra pillows and cushions if necessary. Make sure that there is enough colas, chips and various types of munchies to last through the night. You can also arrange for the birthday girl/boy's favorite movie. Good music is also very important for a fun filled 13th birthday party.

For adventurous teenagers, having a camp in your own backyard is a very interesting13th birthday party idea. If you have a spacious garden then you can also have a small camp fire. The kids will love it. You can have marshmallows and sandwiches for dinner. The kids can sleep in the camp. To keep up the spirits you can have camp games and song. This type of birthday party idea is not only interesting but also educative. It helps the kids to develop a closer bond with their friends. The nights spent with friends under the starlit night form beautiful memories worth being cherished all throughout the life. After all, you turn 13 only once in your life.

Pizza party is another very popular 13th birthday party idea. So burgers, pizzas, onion rings, French fries, pasta, smoothies, frozen colas and sodas are a favorite among teenagers. So if you do not have much time to plan a party then you can arrange for some food and leave the friends together. They are sure to have a great time with their favorite eatables, discussing about school events, pop stars and movie stars.

For more outdoor loving boisterous 13 year olds, rock climbing and river rafting are very interesting 13th birthday party ideas. They can try the sports and have a blast. However it is important to have an adult with the kids for safety precautions. Teenagers like being treated as adults. So the kids can be allowed to have their own backpacks with their own knickknacks and sandwiches for lunch. This will give the kids a taste of freedom and maturity.

A make-over party is also a very interesting idea for 13 year old girls. If your budget permits then you can hire a professional to help the birthday girl and her friends with funky hairstyles and makeup. If you do not want to have a professional then you can allow the girls to try their own styles. They can swap clothes, paint their finger and toe nails and also experiment with different types of jewelry. You can arrange for different artificial jewelries and cheaper brands of cosmetics for the girls to try. You can also hire a temporary tattoo artist. Teenage girls will love this birthday theme.

Taking the kids for a weekend is also a very interesting 13th birthday party idea. An adult can hire a motel or a forest bungalow where the kids can spend their weekend tog

18th Birthday Party Ideas!!!!!!?

Trenton Mi

Hi!!! Im trying to plan a completely awesome 18th birthday party this year for one last big party before all my friends leave for college. I dont quite know how, but through the years i have gotten a bit of a rep for throwing good parties so people are expecting something really good...the only issue is im not really sure what id like to do. I just dont want any repeats of previous years....ive had movie/oscar theme, halloween, a beach party, bowling, day at the spa/broadmore, dirt biking, camping, sky diving/water park, giant scavenger hunt and the rest were all kinda kiddy. Both girls and boys (about 15 to 30 teens around my age) will be coming this year so it has to be flexible. Ive been thinking about a paintball/lazer tag party this year but i wanted to see what else was out there.
anybody every do anything really amazing or have any great ideas???
thanks!

Answer
Hi! This is my favorite of all theme actually. How about trying a rock theme one?

Guitars, stars, musical notes, mixtapes are the main thingys. Having a small convert stage would be fun!

Photobooth will also be a good one so that your visitors can have a souvenir from your party at the same time, a remembrance.

I suggest you should have a dress code too. Everyone's gonna wear a chucks? or somewhat similar to it. This is a suggestive one for girls, girls should wear skirt and a chucks. Everyone's gonna wear a rock`in statement shirt, or just a plain statement shirt?

Hmmm.. I think you'd be having a hard time customizeng your food. Well anyway, it's your choice. I'll be sharing you a pictures of cool stuffs I've been gathered.

How I wish I'd help. That's actually my frustration, having a rock-theme party.
Advance Happy Birthday Trenton. :]

Ideas for little prince birthday party for one year old?

Sweetpea h

My son turns one in a few months, and I want to throw him an awesome Little Prince themed birthday party for about 50 guests. I have a budget of $300. I have already found a prince pinata and plates and cups, and I will make his cake and invitations, but my question is, what kind of games should I play? Does anyone have any ideas for Royal food, too? Or just any idea at all? I want his first birthday to be soooo special! Also, anything to avoid like the plague, to. What was a bad idea in birthdays past so I know what to avoid?
Also, his birthday is in November, so it will probably be indoors (i know, I'm way eager)

Answer
Movie party at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decorations for this at oriental trading. com and you can also find some movie stuff on the hollywood sites I mentioned above. Watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance if your have room.

Luau, beach Hawaii: Orientaltrading has the coolest decorations and favors for this theme and the cutest tropical invitation in the bottle. Give your guests leis as they come in. Play Limbo, Hula hoop, and have a few grass skirts and everyone (including the guys) have to give hulaing a try. Again if you have room to do this at home or you can rent a small room. Tropical pinata. Twister. Hawaii games: http://www.alohafriendsluau.com/games.html.

Candy theme: Pink tablecloths, pink and white balloons. Make candy bouquets for the tables with short wide mouth vase from the dollar store. Fill 1/3 with peppermint disks. Buy colorful lollipops and put in the vase. Make another one t he same but use candy sticks instead like cherry, lime, etc. You can attach bows to each one with a favor card that says your initial, 16 or thanks for coming to my sweet 16 and then after the party give them out as favors. Get personalized M and Ms to put in small favor bags. Get personalized hershey bar wrappers and little personalized stickers that go on the bottom of hershey's kisses or even hard candy. Buy plate size styrofoam 3 inch thick rounds and wrap in clear cellophane for a big hard candy decorations. you could put a wood dowel in one to make it a sucker. Play twister. For favors those candy necklaces, bracelets ands ring pops and candy lipsticks. They sell inflatable lollipops at Windy City Novelities. Buy a sweet 16 plastic sucker mold. We got 1 for 2.50 on Ebay. We bought 3 bags of colored chocolate at the craft store and 1.50 each and made 27 lolliopops out of that. A bag of 100 lolly bags and ties is 1.99. It was so easy to make. Shindigz sells personalized clear candy jars. Also have cotton candy. Decorate with pink and white tissue balls. Also party cheap sells a sundae tissue decoration.
Sweet games: One game is you melt small pieces of chocolate into small bowls and then you blindfold people one at a time and have them taste and they have to guess what kind of candybar it is. Then have a candy prize for the winner, like a little candy gift basket.

Fill a jar with some type of small candies, maybe personalized M and Ms with a 16 on them or your initials. Have people guess how many and again have a prize for the winner.

Play bingo using Candy hearts as bingo chips.

Twister is a colorful game that goes with candy theme.

Fill a pinata full of popular candy. Sour stuff seems to be in.

You could do a Willie Wonka like contest. Buy these personalized candy bar wrappers and put a few golden tickets inside when you assemble them. Then, hand them out at the party for an activity and have some small door prize for the winners. http://www.4funparties.com/app/index.php...

Neon theme. Bright colors, neon lights and glow in the dark items. They sell lights that go in balloons and all kinds of neon and glow in the dark items at windy city novelitis, oriental trading and U.S. Toy Company. Shop.glogames.com. Glowsource.com

For any theme you choose check out scene setters: www.fun4parties.com.
These are huge plastic murals ke your theme looks so real. We have used these and love them and so cheap. You buy backgrounds and can add things to them.

Party decorations:
shindigz, oriental trading, U.S. Toy Company, partycheap, and many, many more.

Have a Hills party like the MTV show. Decorate with Hollywood backgrounds from fun4parties.com. Tell the girls on the invite to wear Hills type dresses and guys preppy style: give the girls rockstar sunglasses like they wear on the hills from windycity novelities. Have a fashion show. Get stores to donate a few items, have your friends model.
80's prom theme: This would be so cool. Decorate like it is a high school prom from the 80s and everyone has to dress from that time.

3 year old birthday party?

Proud Momm

My daughter will be turning 3 and we've began to think about birthday preparations. Were just planning a small get together at home with only close family, but she is having the hardest time deciding on what to do her party in lol. She loves the Little Einstein's, Olivia The Pig, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets, Dora and Diego, and so on....she is driving me nuts wanting all of them and of course she doesn't get that it can be just one lol. How did you decide on a birthday party theme once your toddler got old enough to tell you what her or she wanted?

Its just going to be cake, ice cream, and gifts from family..nothing major because were taking her to an indoor water park as her gift from us. I know that a party theme isn't a "big deal", but still, I want her to feel involved.
We've been looking at decorations and characters online..maybe it would help if I took her to an actual party store. Thanks.

slumber bday party for 13 year old ideas???

graffiti_g

Well im 13 and i am having a slumber party
wut should i put down on invitation on what to bring to the slumber party? besides a sleeping bag

and also what are some good game and fun activity ideas?
any good websites 4 this???
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Erm, im only 15 so i might be able to help? Why dont you get a quote on how much it would be to hire a disney princess ballroom stlye dress, and have her friends all round for like a mini buffet thing, and have them all stay over. Thats what my friend did for hers and it was lot of fun!, we all bought face masks and brought chick flicks and it was a really nice night :).
However, you could just order a pizza get some face masks rent some movies and just chill out but decorate the room?.
Or, they could go for a meal at a relitivly cheap restaurant with her parents and some of her closest friends like her best friend and then have the rest over later? :). For the activities pass the parcel is poop! so im guessing now theyre 13 they will want things like a dance off? or put apples in a bowl and fill it with water and bite them out...or you could line them all up and put oranges under their necks and try and pass it, or a balloon in the middle of their legs etc. They need face masks, utilities, any make-up and if they can some movies or sweets that they would like to eat that you dont have, but you need to put down to bring some movies :) that way you arent spending loads on rentals!! ..hope that helps:) xx

What to do for an Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging party?

Ariel

Hey guys, I've decided for my thirteenth party, I'm doing a party of the theme Angus, Thongs and Perfect snogging movie. But I don't know what to do for it? I don't know the invitations, decorations, costumes e.t.c So what shall i do? Please help!

Thanks

Rosie xx

Answer
Hey! Cute idea and cute theme :) I watched that movie on Youtube like last year and loved it.

For the invites you could just have it be your favorite color and quotes from the movie cut and pasted onto the invite. Make it cute by adding glitter and sparkles and whatever you're in to these days lol.

For the decorations, try to make it hip just like the movie is. Make it like the party in the end, with lots of music and friends and stuff. Make sure there are lots of snacks to munch on.

For the costumes, have it be a costume party like at the Halloween party! that would be cute!

Good luck and happy bday! have fun girlyâ¥

Saskia

I need birthday party invitations that aren't full of cartoons. If anyone knows of a good template that's nice, or a diy that won't take long, if it helps, we're going to a cinema and watching a movie, it would be quite cool if it was like a movie ticket. Thanks.

Anyone know a good place to print cheap but cute birthday party invitations online?

Joe D

I want to design something simple and cute to print and have shipped soon in the next week or two. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't have the time to make anything myself. Any good websites or ways I can do this (on the computer- want to order and have printed- can't print at home). Don't want to do anything by hand. I also don't want a photo card- I know those are cheap though.

Any ideas are much appreciated- Im running out of time. Thank you so much!

How can I use microsoft office 2007 to plan a birthday party?

person

I have the full microsoft office 2007 version which includes microsoft access, microsoft excel, microsoft groove, microsoft info-path, microsoft one-note, microsoft outlook, microsoft powerpoint, microsoft publisher, microsoft word. I want to use one of these to my advantage to plan my sweet 16.
(guest list, invitations, supply checklist, budget data, general things that you would use to plan a party) the only problem is that I am dumbfounded and have NO clue where to start or which one to use or how to use it what so ever! can you please tell me which one i should use and how I should go about doing it?

Answer
Excel and Word would take care of most things. If you wanted to design your own invitations, Publisher could be used but it is a lot to learn.
Use Excel to list guests and addresses on one work sheet; and supplies and budget on a second.
Use Word(or publisher) to write up your basic invitation with a few graphics and then (in word) do a mail merge to address the envelops from the excel file.
On the budget side, list your supplies and anticipated costs, total the costs and then go to the shops to get actual prices to see if you can keep to your budget.
If you are inviting any computer smart friends, they will help you with the technical stuff like mail merge and formula. With excel just list like information down the same column.
Start with a plan of what would make it the best party you can imagine and then list the details. Go back to the dream and check that you have the details to make it happen.

14th Birthday Party?

one_of_a_k

we need bday party ideas:
its gonna be in january
co-ed
a lot of ppl and we dont want it to be too expensive....but still good!!! lol

Answer
Invitations:
Use our Printable Spa Party Invitations or create your own. The invitations look especially beautiful printed on parchment paper. (Parchment paper is available at most office supply stores.) After printing, cut around the edges and fold. Next, print, cut and fold this matching envelope.

Alternatively, you could tie special soaps or candles with raffia or ribbons and
attached a tag inviting your guests. This works well if you have the ability to hand-deliver your invitations or if you don't mind the cost of packaging them properly and mailing them.

Decorations:
Candles! Lots of candles and soft lighting. Candles create a tranquil atmosphere... a cozy, peaceful setting.
Set up small intimate seating areas around tables with beautiful aromatic hand creams, nail polishes and nail grooming tools. Include some small plates of chocolates and candy. Have some soft instrumental music playing.

Also, a great added touch is to provide your guests with bottles of water (in keeping with your decor) at any relaxation station. Try replacing the original labels on bottled water with these Printable Water Bottle Labels. It doesn't take much work to add this special touch to your party. Give one to each of your guests as they arrive and/or have them scattered about the room in pretty baskets.

Food:
Fresh fruit and vegetables trays are perfect for a spa party. Add some delicious creamy or zesty dips for the vegetables and chocolate fondue, whipped yogurt or caramel dips for the fruit.

Cheese trays and shrimp rings are also excellent choices. Make them up yourself or order them from your local deli.

If you're feeling ambitious a few canapes and petite fours would also add to the luxuriousness of your spa party. You can find some great recipes at allrecipes.com

Activities:
For those of you who can afford it, hire a professional or two to come in and do massages, facials, manicures and/or pedicures. Nowadays there are even mobile spas available in a lot of cities.

For those of you on a tighter budget... Have someone you know with experience in essential oils come down and give an interactive teaching and demonstration on making natural beauty products at home. If you don't know someone you may be able to hire someone. Otherwise, do some research at Essential Oil Recipes. They have a great selection of home spa recipes and aromatherapy information.

There are also several homemade spa recipes available
in the free beauty tips ebook you'll receive when signing up for Girl Stuff.

Prepare a short teaching on what you've learned to share with your guests.

Set up a table for your guests to make one or more beauty products and demonstrate step by step how to make the products. (Be sure to test the products beforehand.)

The dollar store has a lot of pretty glass bottles and jars that are perfect for putting homemade massage oils, body lotions, body scrubs or facial masks in (some of them sell for as little as 3 for $1).

One easy, inexpensive body scrub recipe to try requires only three ingredients:

1/8 cup fine sea salt
1/4 cup grapeseed, apricot or almond oil
1-2 drops essential oil of choice
(Adjust the recipe to suit the amount you would like to make)
Store in a cool area.
Instructions:

1. Place salt in a widemouthed jar and cover with grapeseed, apricot, or almond oil. Scent with essential oil. Stir well.
2. To use, dampen your body and vigorously but gently massage the salt and oil mixture into the skin in a circular motion. Be careful to avoid any scratched or wounded areas. Rinse with warm water. Dry with a towel.
Let your guests sample their creations on their hands or let them take turns giving each other a hand scrub, massage and lotion treatment. For instructions on giving a simple hand massage visit Aroma Care.
If you've got the room and the time, try a facial mask recipe and then let your guests put it on, sit back, and relax to soft music and candlelight as they wait for their masks to set.

Be sure to have lots of fresh warm towels on hand and easy access to rinse water. You might want to throw the towels in the dryer while your guests are resting with their masks on.

Note: Lavender essential oil is very soothing and relaxing as well as others. Essential oils are available at health food stores and the price range is quite wide. You may want to pick 1-3 scents in a price range you can afford. Sea salts and grapeseed oil are very affordable.

There are some precautions you need to take with essential oils because they are highly concentrated extracts.

Keep away from eyes.
Never take them internally.
Do not apply them directly to skin (always mix them with a carrier oil like grapeseed, mineral, almond or apricot oil).
Don't increase the amount of essential oil in a given recipe. (Some oils are toxic in large amounts.)
Do not use on pregnant women or children under the age of two.
Keep in mind that ginger, lemon, orange and bergamot essential oils can cause skin irritation if exposed to sun, so don't go out in the sun for 6 hours after using these oils in your recipes.
If you have any questions about essential oils, be sure to do some research and/or talk to a natural health professional.
Prizes:
A great door prize for a spa party would be a gift certificate for a massage, a manicure, a pedicure, a facial or any other beauty treatment. Also, a basket of bath and beauty products is always a good choice.

Favors:
Print a copy of Create a Home Spa on pretty paper. Roll it up (like a diploma) and tie a piece of ribbon or raffia around it. You could also add a beautiful candle and tie them together.
(Note: The Create a Home Spa article mentioned immediately above was written by Julie Hunt - founder of SHE, the foremost inspiration and personal development resource for women who want to live brilliant, happy, successful lives.
Visit her at http://www.shesite.com ------- Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com )

Tie a facecloth and a bar of body soap together with raffia or ribbon.

Get some small pretty jars or sachet bags and fill them with bath beads, bath salts or your own homemade scented epsom salts.

Imagine the scene. You and your friends are together, chatting, laughing, and eating. Itâs a summerâs day in the garden, or a chilly evening around a roaring fire. You're all craving chocolate â that number one desired treat for all girls!

Can you envision it? Luscious fresh fruit, delicious treats, and chocolate! Yes, chocolate. No need to wait for dessert, just have a chocolate fondue fun party. Does this sound like your idea of heaven? Well then, you are about to be transported!

First, you need to know how to create this relaxed gourmet experience.

Do you have to spend hours shopping? No.
Do you have to spend hours cooking? No.
Do you need to quickly brush up on your culinary skills? No.
Do you have to spend hours cleaning up afterwards? Definitely not.
Usually the bowls are wiped very clean!

A chocolate fondue party is perfect for a casual get together, or a girls night in. It's high on fun, and low on the things that make fun hard work.

If you can melt chocolate (place your very favorite edible chocolate in a microwave and heat for 10 seconds at a time), and if you can wash and chop fruit â youâre pretty much on your way. Of course, you'll need a fondue pot or two to keep your creations warm.

Gather, purchase, beg, borrow, or scour your cupboards and refrigerator for...

100g of plain chocolate, chopped
100g white chocolate, chopped
100g milk chocolate, chopped
9 tablespoons double cream
1 tablespoon of Barcardi or Grand Marnier
A small pineapple
2 medium bananas
125g of strawberries
125g cherries
2 medium pears
3 fondue pots

Note: Fruit choices are optional to your tastes. Be sure to wash whatever fruits you use. The ingredients noted above usually make 4â6 servings.

Now for the science!

Place the chocolate in separate bowls; melt either in a microwave or over hot water in a saucepan (in a bowl that fits snugly onto your saucepan and does not touch the hot water below).

Whatever method you choose to melt the chocolate for your chocolate fondue â do be gentle. Chocolate reacts badly to heat. It can easily be scorched, and spoils if it comes into contact with any moisture. So, gently and carefully does it.

Heat the cream in a pan or in the microwave, until boiling hot. Then, add three tablespoons of the hot cream into each of the bowls of chocolate and gently stir. Add the liqueur or Barcardi to the white chocolate mixture and mix again.

Set the fondue bowls over the lowest possible heat setting to keep your creations gently melted. Surround the fondue pots with the washed fruit. Cut the fruit as you need it, and dip it immediately into the rich melted chocolate fondue.

To create an unforgettable atmosphere light some candles, serve the chocolate in your prettiest bowls, and arrange the fruit and treats on plates with style.

While eating chat over âwho can think of the most deliciously different things to dip into the chocolate fondueâ, and the craziest!

You can cut-up and dip almost anything, from cakes and biscuits to exotic fruits. The most essential ingredient, however, is to share the experience with friends. So, dip, chat, laugh, eat and enjoy. Thatâs chocolate fondue fun.

For more chocolate fondue recipes and chocolate fun visit best-chocolate-recipes-online.com and be sure to check out their delicious chocolate drink recipes. They will add that extra bit of zing to your chocolate party.

Mmmmmmmmm... Chocooooooooolate!

Be extra creative and combine your Chocolate Fondue Party with a Home Spa Party. Tie in the theme by making or using some chocolate based spa treatments. How luxurious would that be?

Have each person bring an interesting toe ring and clean feet. Paint each others toenails in all kinds of exotic prints and designs. Then, have a draw to determine who will get each toe ring.

Note: There are so many fun nail design kits and accessories availablethese days. Stencils, jewels, stickers, colourful nail polishes, etc., etc., etc. Let your imaginations go wild.

Tip: You can accessorize your toenails with a lot of different things. These things will stay on longer if you give them a final coat of clear nail polish.

Host a Cooking Class

Decide on a type of dish, ingredient, style of cooking, etc. that you would like to learn something about and then find someone to teach about it at your home. There are several ways to do this. Either hire a professionalor ask a friend who is particularily skilled in an area of cooking. Youcould also book an in home food party like "The Pampered Chef", but that includes selling cooking supplies. Choose what works best for you and then invite your friends over for a cooking class.

Note: I have a friend who makes a lot of quick and easy appetizers with cream cheese. We loved having her teach us how to make these appetizers in a live demonstration. It was even more fun tasting her creations.

Birthday Invitations?

I am planning my boyfriends 25th birthday party and am planning on doing a Luau Theme. I want to get really nice invitations, so is there any site that does free printable or fairly inexpensive luau theme or Hawaiian theme invitations. I would like to be able to have them printed so if a site does that, Im willing, as long as it is not crazy expensive. I only need about 30 invitations and I dont want to spend more the $40 so if anyone has any ideas, let me know please!!!

14th birthday invitations?

Tariah C

My daugther is having a 14th birthday party but she doesnt want to do regular card invitations or on a piece of paper you know? So I was wondering if anyone could help me with a creative teenage invitations I was thinking maybe flip flops but its not summer so anything like that would be very much appreciated thank you.

Answer
A chocolate invitation is always a great idea, you could get a company to print you one, a chocolate store in your town to hand craft one or a cheap version would be to buy chocolate bars a write on them with icing sugar pens.

You could have a bottle of bubble bath/shower gel a peel off the label and stick on a sticker with the details of your daughter's party in the place of where the previous label was.

I have also heard that companies do magnetic invitations, i.e the invitation is on a magnet.

or you could get a couple of cheap bangles quite thick (like a cuff) and paint on the details or something.

I hope this has helped x

SURPRISE?!?!?!?!?!?!PARTY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

esdmn

I am throwing a surprise birthday party for one of my best friends. She is turning 15. It is going to be on new years eve because her birthday is January 1. It will be a sleepover, all girls, with most likely 7 girls at most 10. She isn't super girly but spa theme is doable and stuff like that, but sports is not her thing. She is super creative though. I have a hot tub and we will probably go in it but the night really doesn't need to revolve around that. If any one has any THEMES or ideas or games.I don't want the same old same old but if you have an idea just post it. Even if it is like fiesta themed something standard just say because I may not have thought of it.AND please, elaborate and links please! Anything that will enhance the party I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much! :)

Answer
have a chinese birthday party....buy chinese es take out for u and your friends and play chinese checkers and make moon cake(moon cakes are really good) play chinese jump rope for prizes

have a cooking party buy different kinds of cake and you and your friends each make your own little cake and after their done baking you and u can decorate them and votes who is the best...play fun cooking games like buy different kinds of cookies put them in a bag shake them up have someone cover their eye pick one out and eat and try to guess what kind of cookie it is.

have a movie party rent a bunch of movies and play fun games like watch a movie and once in a while just stop the movie and see who can guess what the character says...make popcorn with different topping like carmel chocolate butter butterscotch?

Have a new years game have everyone make and hat with gems and sparkles and stuff and sees who is the best? its really funny on new years cuz then you have something to throught up in to the air when the new year comes

Then consider the Medieval Madness Mystery Party. In this party, guests come in character as if they were attending the wedding feast of a medieval prince and princess. During the first course the king, who is played by a willing adult, drops dead, apparently poisoned.

Play continues as the birthday girl and her guests try to figure out using a medieval trial system just who the killer was. The surprising fact is that most of the partygoers want to be found guilty! The game is finished by a mock sentencing, followed by cake and ice cream for all! This party works beautifully for either all girls or a mixed group, but not for all boys.

A Glamour Birthday Party for Teenage Girls
A little more serious in nature, but still fun, is a party theme based on the glamorous life.
For this party, guests are asked to come in their fanciest gowns, wear their most beautiful jewels, and expect to be pampered.
Décor for this birthday party theme can be in the birthday girlâs favorite color, in elegant black and silver, or really anything fancy. Pull out the best china, linens, and crystal, or find elegant paper and plastic party goods (perhaps even from the wedding or bridal section). Depending on budget, this teen party can be as fancy as one dares. Up for renting a limo?
Food should be fancy, a bit extravagant, and pretty. A formal dinner may be in order (at home or out at a nice restaurant).
For an activity, watching one or more of The Princess Diaries movies or the quirky 1987 film The Princess Bride would be perfect.
Another fun thing to do is to have the girls bring their digital cameras and take "glamour shots" of each other in fancy dresses, various poses, and elegant makeup.
Party favors can be a small, elegant piece of jewelry, a pretty goblet, or little makeup sets.
This would also work as a tweens birthday party idea theme.

Have a Pink Birthday Party Theme for Teen Girls
Go all out with this fun theme where even Barbieâs house looks dull by comparison. Go crazy with pink invitations (asking guests to wear pink, of course), party goods, décor, balloons, bows, and food.
Food ideas include a really pink cake, strawberry ice cream, and pink heart-shaped cookies. Pink-tinted pancakes with strawberry syrup might be yummy, as would strawberry milk. If it gets to sickeningly sweet, add in some pink mashed potatoes. Brainstorm what light colored food can be tinted pink.
For fun party activities, Hasbro has a cool line of pink games for girls. How about pink Monopoly, Twister, or Jenga (available at Toys 'R' Us)?
Consider a tie-dye birthday craft where guests color white T-shirts or pillow cases various tones of pink.
For party favors, shop for pink goodies at a dollar store, including some pink nail polish and blush.

12 year old Birthday Party?

Jennifer

I am turning 12 years old in April. I like shopping, being athletic and being with friends. I wan to have about 10 people at my party what can i do?

Answer
This answer will be long , but you wont regret reading the ideas ! (im assuming its 10 plus you . btw if your gonna have 10 people come then if youre gonna go with my idea you should get 2 of those ten people to help you out so you have 8 people doing the games and stuff ! it sounds confusing right now but youll get it. im 13 btw)
Me , Italia , and Laurel are planning a party , and are inviting 8 people (including us) and we are sending the invitations in boxes cause 4 peolpe will have a red bandana (red team) and 4 people will have a blue bandana (blue team). these teams will compete in the following games:
-Fruit ninja ! Were gonna get styrofoam swords and stick toothpicks in them and throw balloons up and they will try and pop them with the toothpicks . we dont know if it willl work though
-Obstacle course ! we just set up random stuff and make them run through it , duh !
-toilet paper modeling ! each team chooses one model and has 5 minutes and 2 rolls of toilet paper each and they make an outfit for their model .
-scavenger hunt ! were gonna tape balloons of their team color (they MUST ONLY POP THE BALLOON OF THEIR TEAM COLOR ! if they pop the other teams , they get disqualified) to random places and it has a hint in it. so they will be running random places looking for the next hint. and the balloons are labeled 1, 2, 3 etc. and they must get the balloons in chronological order. the last hint will be in a treasure chest at the bottom of my pool and they all have to dive in and get it :) and theres only one treasure so first one to it wins !

we are providing prizes for each winner (like lotions , perfumes , girl stuff xD)
and 5-7 of those people are spending the night c:

Sorry its REALLY long but its gonna be a LEGIT party and i dont care if you steal ideas !

Cool ideas for a 12 years old birthday party?!?!?!?

Rachie

I am about to have my 12th birthday party and i have no ideas! I want this party to be AWESOME so i need really cool ideas! Thanks

Answer
I suggested these before:
Movie party theme for hall or at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decoration kit and lots of decorations for this at oriental trading. com. If at home watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance in a hall with this theme. Have everhyone wear a movie star costume. Favors: black gold metallic beads from oriental, directors clapboard photo keychain from oriental, sunglasses from oriental or windy city novelities (make sure to buy adult ones).

Twister. Hawaii site including games: www.alohafriendsluau.com. Cool invite: Flower lei and attach a printed invitation card.

Neon/Glow in the dark This is a cool theme!
invites:
For the invites oriental trading has neon badges. They are neon nylon necklaces that have a clear plastic case. You need to make the cards on your computer using the business card maker on your computer or just use the MS Word. You might want to put a really big VIP in color and on the back at the top Nicole's Neon Bash in cool color and font and then the party info, who what when.

Oriental trading sells Neon gangster hats.

favors:
Oriental sells neon sunglasses.
Oriental also sells neon jelly bracelets
Glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces, lot of sites have these.
Neon Twist and Glow lollipops.
Neon nail polish u.s. toy company
Neon lazer candy (just like pixie sticks but in neon)
Neon slap bracelet at u.s. toy company
Decorations:
More neon themes go along with Glow in the dark.

windy city novelties has neon tablecloths, cups, napkins. Just type neon in their search bar.

Balloons:
Shindigz has black light sensitive neon latex balloons. Again put neon in their search bar.

Shindigz also sells a neon lights personalized banner.

Oriental trading sells a neon fringe banner

Oriental trading sells neon balloon weights for the balloons you buy.

Party cheap has neon party horns and garland.

Glow in the dark sites:
glow source
shop.glogames.com Lots of games here.
Light God

U.S. toy company sells neon body glitter.
Windy city novelties sell lumi balloons that are balloon with lights in them.

Large neon party pack (kinda expensive) at windy city novelties.

So to search for neon and glow items go to all the party sites ands put that in the search bar:

These appetizers were great at our sweegt 16:

Taco Dip:
2 softened cream cheese.
1 16oz sour cream
1 packet taco seasoning.

Mix with mixer. Put in bottom of a cookie sheet. Top with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and green onions. Use the cheese but you can altered the rest to your taste, maybe add black olives. Make 2 of these. Serve with tostitos scoops.

PUPPY CHOW
6 cups Crispix cereal
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
12 ounce chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave or on the stove. Stir into cereal. Put powdered sugar in a paper sack. Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated.
Silver Dollar Sandwiches:
These are silver dollar rolls made by your bakery in the grocery store. We have them in our store just ready to grab, for large orders call ahead for some. Anyway they are perfect for parties, hand size, neat. You buy shaved ham, beef and turkey. You put lettuce on if you want and some cut cheese into triagles and put on. Also put real butter on on side of the bun inside of course. And have mustard and mayo packets on ice in case anyone wants that.

GAMES:
Twister
limbo
get a pinata that matches a theme if you choose a theme.

Put a certain number of candies in a pie plate, fill with cool whip or whip cream and guests have to hold their hands behind their back and find the candies to win a prize.

Buy poster of a cute actor or singer (get one of a girl and one of a boy if you are having a coed party). Anyway, put lipstick on the guest, blind fold them and then spin them a couple times and put them in front of the poster and they have to kiss it. Whoever comes the closest to the actor or singers mouth wins a prize. This can be funny, especially if boys come and they have to put on lipstick.

Police/Jail: Isheriffs badges at shindigz. costumes and handcuffs at oriental trading.
Police line up board at oriental trading.
Police red flashing light at shindigz.
Police car cardboard standee at shindigz.
wanted posters at buycostumes.
Get some brick wall backgrounds to make a jail room or use for the walls at the stumps

Party Invitations ideas?

Saskia

I need birthday party invitations that aren't full of cartoons. If anyone knows of a good template that's nice, or a diy that won't take long, if it helps, we're going to a cinema and watching a movie, it would be quite cool if it was like a movie ticket. Thanks.

Day camp games/ideas/tips?!?

xXImagineh

Hey guys! I'm hosting a 2 day camp at my house for kids ages 5-12. It's a camp to raise money for Feed the Children. (: I do it every year, but this year I have more time to plan. Each day has a different theme. Day 1 - Pirates, Day 2 - Hollywood.
So, my question to you guys is: Do you know of any games or activities that will go along with these camp themes? I need to entertain the kids for about 3 - 3 1/2 hours.
Please keep in mind that I'm only 15, and don't have all the money in the world. So, if these games could be fun, but not too hard to set up...that would be great!
Thank you so much (:

Answer
Pirates Day~~~

http://www.awesome-kid-birthday-parties.com/pirate-games.html

Let them wear eye patches. Set up a treasure hunt. And make hats! :)

Hollywood Day~~~

Have awards for:

Funniest
Best Dressed
Biggest Smile
Prettiest Eyes
Tallest
etc.

This is a great game for a Hollywood themed kids party. On the invitation make sure you tell the parents to dress their kids in clothes they can get dirty.

Ingredients
Gym Mats
Ropes
Plastic Swords
Big Styrofoam Blocks
Cardboard Boxes
Signs
To Play
Play this game outside so you have enough room to set up the stunts.
Before the party make signs that name each of the Hollywood Stunts. Try Kung Fu Fighting, Tarzan, Garbage Bin Rescue and more.
Next set up all of the stunts, keep them safe with the gym mats and Styrofoam blocks.
Organize the kids into teams and have them go from stunt to stunt.
The team that finishes first wins.

Good Luck and Thanks for Such a Good Cause!

Camp out birthday party ideas?

Nabeela Wa

For my 14 bday party im having a sleepover. Im going to put up a tent in my backyard and thats where we are going to sleep durring the night. guest will arive at 4pm on saturday and will be leaving 11:30am on sunday. I have invited about 10 girls(including myself) but only 5 are sleeping over. the other girls are going to stay over till late just not sleep over.

What are some games we can do??

i have a Wii snd we are going to play on it for a bit...and also i have a outdoor fire place so we are going to have marshmellows!!
.

Answer
What a fun idea!! I think it would be fun to toast s'mores and sing campfire songs.

Here are three games you can play (two are special to be played in the dark with flashlights!):

#1 The Challenge Game:
Youâll need: Slips of paper and a Timer

Before the party write down âstuntsâ on pieces of paper, along with a time limit of how long they have to complete the action. You will want to create several stunts per guest. Fold them up and put into a bowl. Some suggested stunts: say the alphabet backwards, stand on your head or do thirty jumping-jacks

To Play, have a guest draw a stunt from the bowl. They must complete the stunt within the time limit given to earn a point (otherwise, no point!). Go to the next person, and continue until all guests have had a chance to play. You can do this game as long as the supply of written down stunts holds out, or you can end it after a certain number of rounds. The Winner is the party guest with the most points wins!

#2 Flashlight Hunt Party Game
Divide guests into teams and equip them with at least one flashlight. Then prepare a treasure hunt with clues to be done in the dark. Or, give each person a flashlight and hide things for them to find. Think of it as an Easter egg hunt in the dark. As a matter of fact, you can even use Easter eggs, filled with fun treats, candy, etc. for the guests to find in the dark. Put a few really great prizes in some â like a gift card or something, and youâll have guests really going after it! Tell the guests to only find a certain number of eggs (or whatever they are searching for) so that one person doesnât end up with a lot, and others end up with none!

#3 Flashlight Firefly âAnother game to play after dark if you have wide open spaces. Youâll a flashlight. Choose someone to be the Firefly and give her a flashlight. Have everyone hide their eyes while the she counts to 10. During this time the Firefly goes out into the dark yard. At the count of 10, the Firefly must flash the flashlight on and off. The Firefly can run around, hide, anything to avoid getting caught! Every few seconds the Firefly flashes the flashlight. Whoever catches the Firefly will be it next!

Of course, truth or dare is always perfect for a sleepover.

Good luck! What a fun idea!

Halloween Outdoor Party Ideas?

Q. Does anyone have any cool ideas for party ideas? its ouside, in the woods, and i'd like it to be pretty scary, but not demonic or anything. We have a few trails that weave in and out of the woods, and it'd be great for a scavenger hunt type game.
At camp a long time ago, the adults had a scavenger hunt game, but it was teams of people with completely different directions for each team. does anyone know of anything like that??
thanks everyone!!
It's also based around teens. So probly a 16-20 yr age bracket

Answer
That's called a "Destination Unknown" scavenger hunt.

Check out this page for more types of scavenger hunts:

You could have props hidden in the woods along the trails, and maybe get a few costumed volunteers to jump out at the scavengers. If you can get some dry ice, making a "fog machine" with dry ice and water in a bucket is a fun prop for many different kinds of parties. You could also have some spooky Halloween soundtracks playing on loudspeakers (an amp and an iPod is a great set-up for outside). If you don't mind spending a few bucks on good music, watch some spooky thriller or horror movies and listen to the background music for some good soundtracks.

For a good Halloween sound effects album, I recommend "Halloween Horror"
Or for music (plus a 1-hr long track with sfx), "Halloween"

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC300018461033.aspx?CategoryID=CT101447601033

how would i format it like that especially with the top one upside down so when i fold it in fours it makes sense

Answer
If you have word 07, open it, click the round multicolor office buttion in the top left, Select New, then type birthday party invitation in the search box that will come up and hit search, then select one of the many templates that is displayed.

In older version of word you can just go to file, new, and then select a template to use

You can also download the template from your link above that you gave as an example, and delete the text and graphics for that template and modify to work for needs.

what microsoft word thing can i use to make birthday party invitations?

Q.

Answer
Use Microsoft office Publisher

I need some advise...50th Birtday party?

Fernando M

I need some suggestions for a 50th birthday party for my Mom and Aunt (Twins), I already have the Hall and Limo reserved. I'm expecting no more than 100 people. What I need help with is a Theme, I Don't really want "over this hill", I want this to be a celebration. I also need some menu ideas. Both my Mom and Aunt enjoy Italian food, any Ideas? I'm currently putting together a slide show about their past 50yrs. Like I said Menu and Theme are my primary concerns.

Thank you.

Answer
Try doing something like a 50's themed party
Print new record labels containing the party particulars and place them on old 45s or fake records. Name the "record company" after your guest of honor or party hosts. These are invitations that are bound to go platinum.

· Use a fabric paint pen to write the invitation on a bobby sock or stuff the paper invitation into a sock.

· Use photo postcards of Elvis, James Dean, or Marilyn Monroe as your invitation stock.

· Write your invitation on the back of a '50s party cardboard cutout.

· Encourage all your cool cats to come dressed in '50s finery.

'50s Happy Days Theme Decorations:

· Set up a soda shop or dinner setting with small cafe tables (available at most rental stores).

· Hang real or inflatable music instruments around the site.

· Find old saddle shoes or sneakers (not modern-looking athletic shoes). You can even use white nurse's shoes and turn them into saddle-looking shoes with brown paint or by gluing pieces of brown felt onto the shoe. Hang from the ceiling.

· To use sneakers, saddle shoes or any boot -style roller skate as a retro centerpiece, slip a water tumbler into a bobby sock, then fill the glass with straws and slip the sock into the shoe or skate.

· Use James Dean, Elvis, Marlon Brando and Marilyn Monroe life-size stand-ups, movie posters, and movie stills to adorn the walls next to posters of hot rods and oldies album covers.

· Contact a local classic car club about displaying or renting one or more of their hot rods for your party site. You can also contact a local motorcycle club to see about displaying or renting "hogs" to rev up your party site.

· If your budget allows, rent an old-fashioned jukebox. If not, use inflatable or cardboard versions for atmosphere.

· Hang rock and roll themed signs, posters and cutouts that will turn any room into a soda shop.

· Dig through your family attic, yard sales, thrift stores or flea markets to find a bunch of golden oldies .45s, LPs or old album covers to use to decorate your dancing den.

· The quickest way to give any room a '50s feeling is to use rolls of patterned paper with a record, soda shop or typical checkerboard design or vinyl "sugar shack" or sock hop cutouts. Or add a rock and roll or fabulous fifties border. Best of all, by using sticky tack you can put up any of these designs without ruining your walls!

· Light up your night with music note novelty lights.

· Just in case your guests don't come dressed or if you don't want to make it a total costume party, have a couple of accessories on hand to help your guests become part of your décor. Choose items such as music note or black felt fedoras and Blues Brothers, Elvis or retro sunglasses. Or, buy in bulk and outfit the crowd with a complete rock and roll accessory kit.

Activities - '50s Fun:

· Get everyone up to do the stroll, mashed potatoes Lindy, jive and other classic '50s party dances.

· Resurrect your old turntable to spin the '50s top tunes. If you don't have a turntable, you can still find some classic oldies CDs.

· Spin the Chubby Checker classic and have a Twist contest.

· "Rate the Record" just like they did on American Bandstand. "I give it a 90. It had a good beat!"

· See who can keep a hula-hoop moving the longest or spin the most hula-hoops at once.

· Hold a "Spotlight Dance." You can accomplish this with a large flashlight, disco or utility light.

· Rent or buy classic movies and TV shows from that era or films set in that period such as "Grease." You can find many classic sitcoms such as "Happy Days," "Father Knows Best," and "Laverne and Shirley" on the Nickelodeon channel and other cable stations.

· Have an acapella "doo-wop" contest.

· Put up a candy-filled, guitar piñata and let blind-folded guests take a crack at giving it a whack.

· See who can do the best yo-yo tricks or keep it spinning the longest.

Soda Shop Staples and '50s Foods:

· Black and white check or black, white and pink are perfect table toppers. If you choose to use a solid cloth, use black and white checked paper products as accents.

· Soda shop staples included ice cream sodas, sundaes, malteds, milkshakes, pizza, burgers and fries. For added fun, you can serve hamburgers on reusable, plastic burger-design plates or pizza on pizza-shaped plates.

· Serve your guests TV dinners on snack trays, especially if your main entertainment revolves around watching '50s videos or movies.

· Here's another use for your old LPs. Cover with clear plastic wrap and use to serve hors d'oeuvres.

· Old LPs can also make a charming dinner plate charger for sit-down celebrations.

· Contact your Coca-Cola distributor to purchase classic Coke-filled glass bottles and serve with two straws. Many markets still sell those classic-shaped bottles along with their other soda selections.

· Dress like a soda jerk or carhop (including the roller skates) to serve your guests.

· Decorate a round cake with dyed-black icing to resemble a record and include the guest of honor's name on the "label." Or, just slip a disc whose label has been customized to the guest of honor on top of the cake. If you have a favorite record, many bakeries can duplicate it into an edible design that can be put on top of your cake.

· Use rock and roll bandanas as napkins and Slinky-style rainbow coils as napkin rings.

Click Here for all '50s party favors.

'50s Favors and Prizes:

· The party "rock and rolls" on for guests who take home a CD or tape of '50s classic hits ( You can burn or record these yourself.)

· Guys love playing "air guitars," so give them an inflatable version so they can rock around the clock.

· Show them you think they're a "good skate" with a glowing skate necklace.

· "Pin" them with a flashing LED guitar pin.

· Treat them like a rock star with a LED guitar necklace, Blues Brothers or retro sunglasses or a rock and roll bandana.
Top off the celebration with music note fedoras or der
Snap a souvenir photo of your rockers and present it in a '50s theme frame.

Any one had any good and cool experiences let me know ..

Answer
Make your pool party the hottest in town by following these easy tips that will take you from the invitation to the final dip in the pool.

Setting the Stage
Invitations

Begin to set the stage with your invitations. Print your invitations on aqua blue colored paper stock and send them in a mailing tube. Include inexpensive diving sticks in the package and toss in some tropical or aquatic confetti (found in party stores) for fun.

You're Invited to Dive in for Fun at the Smith Pool Party!
Saturday, July XX, 2:00pm until 10:00pm
Bring bathing suits and towels.
RSVP by July XX at 111-222-3333

Music

Set the mood with a non-stop selection of your favorite beach or tropical tunes. Possibilities include:

Bob Marley's Legend - Set the mood with the classic reggae sound from the original master.
Beach Boys' Sights and Sounds of Summer - Few musicians remind me of summer as much the beach boys.
Jimmy Buffet's Meet Me in Margaritaville - The Ultimate Collection- You'll find that there are at least a few Parrotheads lurking among your guests.
The Table

Cover the table with a sunny yellow cloth.
Use blue plates and drinkware.
Create a centerpiece using yellow flowers such as daffodils or roses.
Get 50 dollars worth of quarters to throw in the pool for a hunt.

Other Necessities
Provide sunscreen for guests who may forget to bring their own.
Create areas of shade with umbrellas if your pool area doesn't have shady trees.
Be sure you have enough chairs for your guests. If not, ask guests to bring a chair when they RSVP.
Stock up on fun pool toys including beach balls for impromptu pool volleyball; floats; and water guns.
You'll need plenty of ice for this party!

Party Favors
Send your guests home with an after-sun body lotion wrapped in a cello bag tied with ribbon. Toss in more of that fun confetti you sent with the invitations.

The Menu
Here's a buffet that will keep your guests feeling cool and refreshed while keeping you out of the kitchen during your party!

Serve a selection of refreshing drinks including iced tea, bottled water and classic frozen drinks such as Pina Coladas, Margaritas or Daiquiris.

Tortilla chips with your favorite salsa.

Mango and Shrimp Wraps - These cool, tropical wraps will have your guests asking for the recipe.

Thai Chicken Wraps with Spicy Peanut Sauce - This spicy recipe comes from the queen of quick cooking, Rachael Ray.

Greek Salad - The ingredients in this recipe will hold up well since there's no lettuce in this salad.

Fresh Fruit Kebabs with Dip - Diana Rattray, About's Guide to Southern Food gives you a selection of fruit dips from which to choose.

Key Lime Tarts - Easy to make and luscious to eat.

Pina Colada Ice Pops - These make ahead bars are non-alcoholic.
