The guest of honor is a boy.
THANKS FOR ALL AND ANY IDEAS! :)

Answer
I am planning one for my 5 andsix year old which is a few days apart. I thought a Training Camp would be good but cant decide between Pirates or Superheros!

So examples for superheros would be
Invitations - Superhero Academy! Print them on a small triangular shape that you can attach to a lollipop to make it look like a cape. You can even cut out tiny paper masks with black paper and stick it to the "Head"
When they arrive they can choose their own mask and cape and belt. You can buy cheap secondhand material to make these, fasten with velcro.
There will be several tasks to complete.
* Such as Leaping tall buildings in a single bound: I would have little milk cartons and cereal boxes painted like buildings.
* Collect radioactive isotopes: They can crawl threw a darkened tent or tunnel with glowsticks scattered inside.
* Lava pit: Take a wide board and placed it over a small swimming pool. The board is held up with cinder blocks and then add a fog machine to add the element of atmosphere. The kids could walk across the board. Add red food coloring to the water to make it look like lava.
* Blasting Aliens!: Have cardboard aliens or balloon aliens they have to spray with silly string
* Strength training: Paint foam balls blackand mount one on either side of a broomstick to look like heavy weights! If you have it in front of a city backdrop, this would be a good photo op for parents!
There are so many you could make up. Once theyhave finished you can give them a Superhero Academy Certificate!!! The certificate can say all the tasks at the party. Decorations would look great with city scapes cut out and painted, with those captions that used to be on batman "kapow!" etc stuck everywhere. Maybe a phonebooth?

Pirate Academy would be similar but invitations would be like a treasure map with the edges burnt. Games similar but changed to piratey things. First give them a booty bag and when they finish each task they get something for their booty!
*Make a pirate hat! You can use templates printed off the internet.
*Swab the deck: Get some mops or brooms and they have to push a balloon through a coarse.
* Treasure hunt. You can buy cheap plastic beads and spray them gold. Or buy chocolate money.
*Walk the plank: have a plank raised where they have to walk across. Others can throw cannon balls, black balloons or painted foam ballsto knock them off.
*Pin the beard on the pirate!
Decorating, you can make an island in the corners with yellow or brown sheets or blankets. Cardboard painted like palm trees and some treasure chests. You can buy fishing nets cheap online to string across your roof, stick some plastic fish in them. Wine barrels are good. Paint a cheap foam drink cooler to look like treasure chests for all the drinks. Red and black balloons and streamers to finish it off! Gold painted beads and treasure for the tables looks great!

Good birthday party ideas for a 13 year old?

Rebecca Fo

My daughter is turning thirteen and she doesn't want a "kiddy" party. Her idea was to take a few friends to KOA for the weekend but that's a little too pricy for my liking, and she's allergic to mosquitoes so camping isn't really ideal for her party.

She's already reached that "Mom, get out of my life! But first can you drive me and Cheryl to the mall?" stage in her life, and she's not into crafts and organized games and stuff. She just wants a place that's not childish where her and her friends can go and, as she says, "be stupid" without having parents "breathe down their necks". She doesn't want to stay at home though, because apparently home sleepovers are boring and overrated.

I'm thinking something that's under $100.00 for her plus two or three guests. Any ideas?

Answer
Depends on the time of year. Pool party at the community pool or YMCA if it's summer. My mom lives at an apartment complex where there is a pool and you can reserve the clubhouse for the day. If you know someone who lives in a place like this, ask if they can do that and you pay them back. If you can stay at home you can save a lot of money. Leave little activity tables out in the backyard with instructions (put packing tape over them so they don't get ruined) and then go off to your room and they can go to the things when they want (piñata, water balloons, relay races, movie inside, food station, "photo booth" you can manage that by having a camera and some props they can use as you take pictures that way you can supervise a bit, etc.). But that's only if it's summer. Now on to the colder months. Is there a jungle rapids or arcade near by? Go carts or putt-putt. Mall scavenger hunt (for if there are more girls) have a list of things and clues of where to find them, one person in the group HAS to have a cell phone. They can just take a picture or if it's super cheap provide money to buy it. They have to be back at a meeting place (food court usually works best) by a certain time. Indoor camping in your living room, pitch a real tent or they can make a blanket fort. A movie, bowling, fancy (but reasonably priced) dinner/lunch, etc. Just set up food, music, and decorations in your house or backyard and have a fire pit going, she can invite many friends over since it's cheaper. I hope this helps! Good luck!

What theme should I have for my birthday party this year?

I will be 17 this year. I know I seem kinda old for birthday parties but I love having parties with my close friends. I just don't know what theme to do this year. I was thinking a murder mystery or something but I have no idea. I need some suggestions. Please and thank you. (:

Answer
We wanted to get adventurous with my fellow girlfriends without boys being around to play their silly tricks on us we opted for a sweet dreams slumber party, not just to sleep but also to relax and dream and go to wonder land. I planned a sleep over party away from home and found just a good venue, a cottage in the deep valley.

For the card invitations, I simply took a picture of the venue, its scenery, the cottage where the party was to be held and pasted on the front page .on the inside of the card was a cartoon that was sleeping and dreaming away into wonderland. I went ahead and requested guests to come with their slumber land gowns. On the bottom of the rainbow colored card read âden of slumber landâ

Being a girls sleep over away from home, I made a banner that read âwelcome to the den of slumber landâ which I hanged at the entrance if the cottage area. I hanged and tied balloons all over the compound, rainbow colors were reflected everywhere including the party room.
Inside the room were small toy doll pillows, blankets, and mattresses hanged with welcome to slumber land stickers everywhere on the walls.

Being a girlâs night the activity I fell for was dance and music. It was a time to let everything free boys were not around to make us shy away. Everyone let out their best moves and sweating as the night fell dark. After having some good time you could see everyone holding a pillow just relaxing and then just what we do best âgossipâ started. We talked all the way as we watched vampire movies till late night and everyone yawning it was a time to sleep.

And remember, parents permission are appropriate way to make the night perfect!

What should my graduation party theme be?

Emma

Okay so my school system is weired and 6th grade is still elementary, so we are going into Jr. High School next year. I am having a graduation party with about 15 people but I don't know what to theme it. Our dance the week before we graduate is a loua theme so I don't want to take that idea.It can even be a color theme all ideas are welcome. Thanks!
P.S. It's a pool party. Sorry I forgot to say that!

Answer
Popular pool party themes include:

Caribbean magic, with appropriate music and snacks
Luaus with leis and other Hawaiian décor
Cruise ship themes with life preservers and passport party invitations
Survivor themes with team buffs, grass shelters and competitive challenges
Waterpark themes when the party is actually at a local waterpark, complete with slides, wave pools, and other diversions
The key to a great teen party theme, however, is to remember not to overdo it. Many teens would prefer an understated theme that hints at coordination instead of an outrageous theme that may backfire.

Teen Pool Party Essentials
With or without a theme, there are several basic necessities every pool party requires.
]Food
Because the party will revolve around water activities, it is best to keep food light: sandwiches, hot dogs, fruit, cookies, snow cones, and cool drinks are great options. Silverware should be limited (opt for cupcakes instead of a birthday cake, for example). Glass plates, bottles, or cups should be avoided to prevent accidents that could cut bare feet. Barbeques are great options for pool parties as well, but be sure to offer vegetarian options for conscientious teens.

Activities
Coordinated party games are not usually necessary for teen parties, but having fun pool activities available will encourage teens to entertain themselves. Beach balls and volleyballs are popular choices, as are different floating pool mats and lounges, diving sticks, and water guns. Appropriate calypso, steel drum, and beach-oriented party music (the Beach Boys are a great choice) can add even more fun and may inspire an impromptu limbo contest.
]Accessories
To make the pool party enjoyable for everyone, be sure to have a good supply of necessary pool supplies on hand, including:

Extra towels, including small towels for hair
Sunglasses or visors
Sunscreen, preferably a quick spray-on formula
Swim goggles or masks
Tanning lotion
Adequate shade from trees, umbrellas, or gazebos
Plastic bags or a safe, dry place to store clothes and other non-pool gear
Waterproof cameras to capture every splash
While most teens will bring their own supplies, having extra on hand will ensure that everyone can have a great time even if they forgot something essential. It is also advisable to have an extra swimsuit or two available if necessary.

Safety
What starts out as a fun party can quickly get out of hand with rambunctious teenage energy. To ensure pool safety, be sure the pool area is clean and free from debris that could be stepped on, tripped over, or used inappropriately. Remove unnecessary equipment (hoses, childrenâs toys, etc.) from the area to free up space and eliminate temptations, and before guests dive in, be sure they understand the safety expectations. Horseplay and dangerous stunts should not be tolerated at any time.

]Pool Fun Out of the Water
A teen pool party isnât just about having fun in the water. There are plenty of ways friends can enjoy pool-oriented activities before they dive in, and many of these activities can also be used to space out eating and swimming to prevent potential cramps or injuries.

Decorate inexpensive flip-flops, sandals, or visors
Stage a swimsuit fashion show
Play a game of beach or lawn volleyball or badminton
Arrange a land-based water fight
Enjoy some tanning time
Relax in a whirlpool if available

Hope this helped! Have Fun!

Wording for a 50 and Fab Birthday party?

Tanisha

Throwing my mom a "50 and Fabulous" themed birthday party, does anyone have any invitation wording suggestions?

Answer
get a pic of her as a kid and one of her now and put both on the invite, then have it say: Ain't she nifty, look who's fifty.

When my sister turned 50 I made buttons that had a pic of her when she was a kid that said "ain't she nifty guess who's fifty" and all 5 of us sisters wore them. we went out for dinner and to the casino and when people saw them no one would believe any of us were over 50 (only 2 of us were younger than 50.)

this is a girls camp with a cruise theme. each night is a differet theme. 1st night we want to have a big birthday party. we need to set up tables to seperate grls according to the month they were born. need ideas on how to decorate each table and the lodge in general. thought about using holidays or seasons and even birthstoneswhich i loved but cannot find 2 website with the same birthstone information. we want it to be special and affordable. party favors too-help!!!

Answer
January- garnet birthstone so you could either do a red theme or find some red colored rocks or fake gems or just do a happy 2008 theme with icy blue colors and party hats for ringing in the "new year"

February- play up the birthstone of amethyst which is purple or do a valentines day theme with red hots (candies) red table cloths and tissue paper in pink

March- birthstone is Aquamarine which is highly expensive and it is hard to find I wouldn't do the birthstone of this month but I would play up the fun of March's cooler weathered plants coming back to life like tulips or St. Pat's day with the clovers

April- diamonds..you could find those big huge fake diamond rings or diamond looking accents for the napkins etc. I would play up the fact that it rains a lot in April or April fools day. gag gifts like whoopie cushions and umbrellas with fake tinsel hanging off them like rain

May- green emerald colors and you could use the cinco de mayo theme with pinatas and "margarita esque" drinks

June- beach theme summer time, beach balls, sand in candle holders with some sea shells and little mini sunscreens or cheapo glasses

July- red, white and blue theme (I'm american and that is USA to me!) have some red table cloths or white ones, flags, things of that nature use those items that look like tinsel in different colors to make a firecracker effect with a vase

August- peridot or light green color which you could play up for the table.Or just do a different theme of outdoors with fun things to do to beat the heat since august is a relatively HOT month (water balloons, popcicle makers, mini fans)

September- dark blue sapphire color which could be used for this or you could go with a back to school theme with books, rulers, cool pens, markers erasers etc.

October- halloween theme for sure play on the pumpkins, and witches gouls theme endless possibilities there have a cauldron on the table and fill with candies and little goodies like pencils etc.

November- turkey's on the table, leaves all over, pretty oranges, yellow and brown colors. November is citrine which is a rich yellow color and it could be played up for the table. Add a cornocopia for presentation if you would like

December- have some fake snow on the table the stuff that looks like cotton balls or heck buy cotton balls and place around in clumps on the table for a snowy effect. Have some wrapped dummy packages or have some dradels along with this theme so that you can support everyone's religious backgrounds. You could use gift wrap to decorate the table or table cloth with or even make place mats with the stuff

I suggest that for each month you take the theme's above and make name tags for the campers with the theme's in mind. example: December- stocking or candy cane shaped name tag...March- clover shaped name tag..etc.

Have fun with it!

What to do for a 12 year olds birthday party if shes injured and in a cast?

XxXRoxiieX

HI my neise is having her birthday party in september on the 13th but she just got in a car crash and is now in a leg cast and shes really mad that theres nothing she can do. Any ideas?

Answer
I'm not sure how much mobility she has, or if she can go simple places by using crutches. Here are some ideas:

1.Go to the movies.

2.Host an in-home spa night: wear robes & slippers, cucumbers for the eyes, face masks, paint your nails, beauty products, etc.

3.Go on a mini road trip.

4. Go swimming.

5. Have a small camping trip in your back yard with sleeping bags, snacks, flashlights, and cake!

6. Get someone to teach something really neat like a private beading class.

7. Perhaps do a combination of some of the things listed above. You could even finish off the day with a fun activity like the two of you can bake and decorate your birthday cake with colored icing, sprinkles, and more.

P.S. - You could also do something specific to the area you live in. For example I live in San Francisco so I might go to the Exploritorium for the day, or to the IMAX theatre, or walk the golden gate bridge. Find out what fun things there are to do in your area.

I need ideas for my 18th birthday party. I don't really like large parties, but half of my friends will still be underage to go to bars.
]my dad wants me to go to derbyshire with the family, and my friends can come up for a party on the saturday - thing is, it might be a bit awkward having a party with my grandparents sitting in the corner. Plus, that would mean inviting my cousins, and nothing's worse than a weekend with them!

Carmen

Iâm going to have an 18th birthday party. But I am having trouble making the invitations. What can I write on them. Like what should they say. I know they should have the time and place but what else would make it look nicer.

Answer
The most interesting invitations I get are the ones where people put a little of themselves into the design. The time and place are necessities, but come on, you only turn 18 once, right? So be yourself!
-Use pens or pencils in your favorite colors to write them with, alternate the colors for every other letter or every other word. Don't be afraid to draw! For instance, if you like pink and you like cats...why not put a pink cat in a party hat on your invites?

-If you want a theme for your party, match your invites to the theme...so, for instance, if your having a party that's a mystery theme, write the invite as a riddle.
Ex: Guess who's turning 18? I'll give you a hint...
She's real cute
She has a dog
She like blue
She lives at (address here)
Don't have a clue? Well sneak over to her address at (date, time) and find out!

-Cut your inviitations into shapes, like balloons or cakes, but make sure you're careful!

-Put party confetti inside the envelope.

-Invitations should generally say something like "You're invited" it should have the date, time, place, whether or not your guest needs to RSVP, and whether or not they need to bring something with them (i.e. food and drinks are provided, gifts are appreciated, etc.)

These are all separate suggestions, but feel free to incorporate them all if you want. It's your party, so have a little fun with it!

I want to design an invitation card. What kind of software should I use?

I am having my 15th birthday party (sleepover). I just sent out invitations for the party yesterday. The party is on September 18th. I am inviting 7 girls. I don't want the party to be boring. What should we do? Any good movies or games that we should play?

Answer
Twister
Would you rather
Prank call guys.
Ding dong ditch!
Truth or Dare
Pillow fight
TP
Silly String
Dance to music.
Piñata
Play Video games
Play on the Internet.
Play board games if you have any
Embarrassing moments
Imitation (where you imitate some famous or well known person and friends have to guess)
BAKE BROWNIES OR COOKIES!!!
Order Pizza.
Get everyone dressed up and make a music video.
Karaoke

Oreo game-
Buy a package of oreo's. Hand each person one oreo but make sure they do not eat it yet.
Once everyone has one, have each person split the oreo in two so that one side is black and the other side has the white (or other flavor/color) filling. Then have them gently lick the side with the filling and place it on their forehead. Without using your hands (or feet) each person attempts to try to eat their oreo. I have done this many times and am surprised how creative people get. The person who eats their oreo first wins.

Whipped Cream Game. - a little messy
Everyone gets a partner. One the partners is blindfolded and have their hands tied behind their back, the other person holds a bowl filled with whipped cream and at the bottom of the bowl is a piece of gum. After being spun around and left alone from their unblindfolded partner, they have to find their partner. Once they find their partner they stick their head into the bowl and search for the piece of gum. I would suggest having the gum be hubba-bubba because they are cubes instead of flat rectangles. The first person to be chewing the gum wins! Don't forget to take a group photo at the end with the whipped cream all over their faces!!!

have fun!

Does anyone have any good, original ideas for a 16th Birthday Party theme?

M

I'm holding my 16th birthday party this year during summer and instead of the usual "show up and dance the night away" parties that I usually hold, I want to have an interesting party with an original theme. My friends don't mind dressing up in costumes but please provide suggestions for themes that are suitable for teenagers. Thanks so much!

Answer
OMG , the perfect theme would be a "glow N the dark" theme.
I had one when i was 16 , it was amazing.

my mom brought black lights and florescent paint and black velvet like material and painted on it and made paint splatters.

and on the invitation put wear bring florescent colors ex orange, yellow, light blue, green and such.

Trying to plan a combined SURPRISE birthday party for my brother who is turning 40 and my Mom who is turning 60. Birthdays are 2 weeks apart. Any ideas/suggestions as far as invitations, etc?

Answer
okay if you having a :

house party: Empty the living room for some space and fill the whole living room, toilets, bathroom and kitchen with coulourful balloons saying happy 40th birthday. you could try and hire some lights and stuff from 2mix.co.uk and their number is 02077945151 and put them in the living room and invite all of his friends and you could also give the party a theme of his favourite character e/g supeman and superwoman for the men and the ladies and get some party food like wine and junk food or bbq if you have a garden or balcony and a big birthday cake made with the shape of a bum one side saying happy birthday and one side saying 40 and choose a selection of his favourite music and finally for the surperise , ask your mum to take him out to lunch or something while you and some friends
(not the guests / his friends) decorate the house and make the food and stuff and for the invitation depending on the theme choose something that relates to the theme e/g superman , you could make a card with the triangle and an S on the front and at the back write the details and dont forget to tell them about the theme of the party and at the bottom write Shhhh KEEP IT A SECRET
ITS A SURPERISE !

hope you like it

and a nice present would be to buy an album from T-kmaX and put some nice pictures of you and your brother only to make it special and wait till the party is over make sure you take lots of pictures and then fill the album up with lots of pictures and then give the album to his as a present. and dont forget to surperise him turn the lights of just like in the movies and when he comes in everyone be ready to turn the lights on, the music, ask everyone to turn one thing on .

Where can I find Golden Ticket invitations?

I am planning a surprise party for someone's 30th birthday. Their favorite movie from their childhood was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (from the 1970s). I am not happy with alot of the golden ticket invites some of the vendors put out, I found one that I did like but it was from the UK, I'd rather buy from somewhere in the states. I want to order customized golden ticket invites. Any idea where to go?

Answer
You could create your own invites using graphics.

MyGrafico has a lot of various ticket graphics that might work.

I live by myself. I have a really annoying neighbor. The boy lives with his mom, I've never asked his mom where his dad is.

He's so persistent, that I have agreed to play with him from time to time.

I got an invitation from his mom to go to his birthday party, apparently he insisted a lot that I go the party.

I'm a 29 year old man, what am I going to do at a boy's birthday party?

What to do?

Answer
Go, if you want. Take a card with a small gift card(15 bucks) for target or walmart for the kid. You aren't close to him so you aren't obligated to take anything big or expensive. You'll probably spend most of the time talking to the other parents. You can play with kids there for a little bit, help them with a craft or play tag. When you go to leave thank the mother for inviting you and tell her the party is lovely. If you chose to go, you don't have to stay the whole time.

If you don't want to go send a birthday card to the boy with your apologies that you can't make it via snail mail.

Ideas for invites to birthday party at the local food pantry / bank?

Hello. We live in Kansas City and are having our 8 year old daughter's birthday party at a local food bank called Harvester's. I am at lost though and searching for ideas on 1) a creative invitation to highlight the power of giving or the food and 2) how to ask that instead of presents we want people to bring food and 3) let people know that this is a different party where they will get to help sort, etc.... Also ideas for thank you notes, favors, etc.... Thank you!!!

Answer
A party's planned for _____ (your daughter's name)
As she is turning 8!
Hosted at the Food Bank "Harvester's"...
We hope the turn-out's great!
In lieu of any presents,
Donated food is our request ~
And we'll gather all together
To sort and pack with all the rest!

(Details here)

Maybe you can design a card to look like a grocery bag filled with food and have a big bow tied around the middle of the bag....and a pic of your daughter carrying the bag or pushing it in a cart?

Birthday favors: Anything you want, really as this is for the guests so something you can afford that's special for them...include some candy treats in with it.

Thank you notes: Thank you for your gift of time, food and friendship that helped to make ____'s birthday party a memorable one! "The Power of Giving" is the perfect gift that never goes out of style! With much appreciation....(your names)

hope this helps :D

Paris Cafe party
Invitations: Send each guest "French visas"-- a name tag to hang around their necks
Decorations: Set up a little welcome desk in the hall right outside party room to stamp Eiffel Tower and travel images on their name tags
Decorate the hall with miniature art museum with small printouts of several famous works of arts, such as "Musee de Paris", "Mona Lisa", and "Monet Picasso Renoir Kandinsky"

Birthday party ideas for teen girls?

Aryiah

I'm having a birthday party and I need some ideas for what to do.
I'm in high school; most of my friends are freshmen or sophomores.
I'm planning to rent a movie, and I would appreciate ideas for that too.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
Renting a movie is a great idea- it's always a crowd pleaser. I would just make sure you get a couple of them and then let people choose which one they want to watch when they get there, that way you don't have any unhappy guests.
Here are some movie ideas:
Comedy:
Juno
Legally Blond
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
In Her Shoes
Baby Mama
Sad:
P.S. I love U- (My friends and I cried at this for hours)
Horror:
Prom Night
Haunting in Connectiut
Haunting of Molly Hartley
I hope these helped!

Here are some other party ideas:
Hawaiian Lou ou (I did this one for my 12th, and even though I was only in middle school it was soooooooooooo much fun! You can get flower leighs and decorate to look like the beach, u no... with palm trees and that sort of thing. Serve snacks in beach buckets with small sand shovels for serving spoons. Have everyone come dressed up, like as hula dancers or as surfers. Then give prizes to the best costumes! For dinner, serve kabbobs and juice served in coconuts. You can even download some hawaiian stuff off of itunes. This is waaaaay fun for everyone, and you can get the decorations and stuff from pretty much any party shop.)

Back Yard Camping Trip- (I used this one last year. It was awesome! I set up a tent in the backyard, and then we did a weenie roast and had burgers on the grill for dinner. I used the outdoor fireplace, and we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. I got some songs off of itunes for the thing, and then we watched a movie on my portable DVD player in the tent that night. It was a great time. WE also played flashlight tag and told scary stories in the tent. You can do pretty much any kind of cake and icecream u want, and hardly any decorations are needed. Just make sure you buy plenty of bug spray- trust me, you'll need it.)

Bowling Party- (Okay... it sounds dorky, but its actually really fun. I've never had one, but my friend did, and it was soooooooo awesome. Most bowling alleys have a special birthday party room with like seven lanes and a free arcade. This is fun because u don't have to do any setting up and u can bowl or just hang out with your friends all night. U can have gaming tournaments- most places have like a pool table or a fooseball table or something- or just hang out and talk or whatever. Also, u can invite a lot of people without having to do ANY clean up whatsoever. This one never gets old.)

Girlz Night In- (Sleepovers r always a win-win situation. They're foolproof. There are endless things to do. Makeovers, spa treatments, movies, group games, and an endless snack bar are just a few ideas. For group games, u can do things like truth or dare, or firehouse. There's a great book I know for spa treatments, it's called the Klutz Body Book. It has things like face masks, scrubs, steams, and toners that you can make, body salts, soaks, pore invigorators, and lotions. It comes with mini botanical oil bottles, for you to make your own all- natural spa treatments- it even has a recipe for a fun spa drink!- u can't lose with this book. Makovers are always fun- makeover ur friends to look hot or just totally gothic, it's up to u! Just a tip- people never stop being hungry at a sleepover, and it's likely you'll be up till way past midnight, so stock up on the junkfood.)

Here are some other party theme ideas that I don't know so much about, but I've heard that they're fun:
*Pool Party
*Dance Party
*Cooking Party
*Project Runway Party (I don't know if you've heard of the show- it's a designing competition and for this party I guess that you could have your guests design things for prizes- sounds fun.)
*BBQ (Always fun, and easy.)
*Out to dinner (ask ur friends what foods they like first- that way there's something on the menu for everyone)
*Hollywood Party (Have ur friends dress to impress. Unroll a red carpet and videotape them as they arrive, looking stunning. Watch the video later with them and give awards for the best outfits.)
*Stay in a Hotel (The price for this one would probably be pretty steep, but u can trash the hotel room and not have to worry about picking up. Splurge on room service and video games and stay up all night long.)

I hope this helped! Birthdays r special, so don't blow them off. Think about them. A lot.

How can I feel better regarding a personally designed greeting card I gave someone?

A relative recently had a birthday party and the invitation asked we give the celebrant "memories." I designed a greeting card myself and thought I was very clever and original. However, when I saw what other people had designed, it made my effort look like a piece of used toilet paper. I felt so ashamed and embarrassed. It was like everyone else had given diamonds and I gave a dollar store gift.

Answer
It wasn't`t your birthday so stop thinking for someone else. The biggest diamond often comes from the smallest piece of coal (a fossil fuel that is going out of fashion ). The sentiment within the gift is priceless, for everything else it just screams "notice me my gift is expensive". You gave what was asked.

What's the best way to ask for gift cards in lieu of presents for a birthday party?

Gabriel's

I live in Hawaii and I'm planning my son's 1st birthday party that will be held in Texas (where all our family lives). Although we appreciate any gesture and don't expect gifts from anyone, how should I suggest gift cards if someone wants to get him something in the invitation? The shipping cost to get multiple gifts to our house would be very expensive and we all ready paying for our plane tickets to get over there and the entire party for 75+ people. You're suggestions are very appreciated!

Answer
"Our suitcases are as full as they can be with diapers. wipes and thus
please understand that we can't take things back with us"

Scavenger Hunt. You can write down a clue and have them go to that clue only to find another clue or map. Make a bunch of them up. You can also have a fishing contest.

Why are my kids such a spoiled little snotheads?

Figgitfock

I have a 7 year old boy and a 6 year old girl who are whining, spiteful, ugly little snotheads who never do anything their parents tell them to do. I've done everything to get them under control. I've tried everything from taking away privileges, to putting them in the juvenile center, to punishing them within one inch of their worthless lives. Behavior has not changed one bit.

I'm running out of ideas. If I don't find a solution soon then I might need to kick them out of the house.
Well...maybe not everything duh which is why I'm asking. :)

Answer
well, first of all you need to show them that you are in contorl..
Second you need to do is take away stuff that the like not necessarily what they play with..
If a friend invites them to a birthday party and they want to go, say no.
At this age they should have chores, like helping with the dishes, sorting the laundry, help folding, putting clothes away, etc.. They might not do it exactly the way you want it, but at least you are showing them respondbility.. Then if I needs to be redone, wait until the are out side, or at school. This way you don't hurt there feeling, and the will feel more confident that they did something....
Get a chore whell this is fun and it stops the aruguing..
If you are in a public place like resturant, and they start acting up, put everyone's meal in a doggy bag and go home. Say to your guest your sorry, but my kids don't know how to behave..
Make sure that your not giving them too much sugars.. Rather say apple, or orange.
Sweet things should be a treat...
If they are acting up, during school time, when they come home, it's homework, dinner, bath, bedtime. Which means no tv, computer, outside, nothing... If they don't eat, oh well still send them to bed. They will learn that tomorrow they better eat or they will be hungry....
Make sure that your "NO" means "NO" !!!
And when they talk to you, listen, and when they yell at you, send them to their rooms, and tell them when they are ready to come out and talk to you with respect then you will listen...
It's your house. Make them know this. Yes they live there and they are your kids, but at the same time, they need to respect what they have...
Keep them busy, go to your local rec center, and register them in a class for the summer. This way they will run their little legs off and it will give you a break...
And for every cus word, make a jar, make them pay 25 cents...
This comes out of their allowence, and luch money that you give them.... Otherwise, they have to brown bag their luch....
And if they don't like what you have, like I said, they will be hungry for dinner.
When they get up in the moring, make your bed, put your laundry in the basket, clean up their room. Then come down for breakfast... etc.... If not they will be hungry for luch.....
Tell them breakfast ends at 8 or 9 am and if they don't make it, it's not on you. Kitchen is closed, to snacks, water, want something to drink etc... Get a child's alarm on the refigator and a lock.....
Make it a boot camp mom's house, soon they will hate it and get the point....
There are many things your can do... Just stick to your guns.
Also set a special time aside during the day (if they been good) and read to them, do an arts and crafts project etc....
At dinner time spend time with them on asking how there day went, and listen to them.... Show interest... Give them praise where praise is due.
And if they been good all week, take them out for luch, dinner, ice cream, etc.... But if they act up once, cancle it, and go to plan "B", you at the same time need to find a babysitter and have some personal time to yourself...... This way you can relax and get the tlc that you need. The rules should apply when your not there and make sure the babysitter is aware of your arragements.... Otherwise, it's not going to happen overnight, but they are still young now, and if you don't go to these extree measures now it might be too late....Good luck....I hope this helps.....

My son is having his 5th birthday party as a dinosaur party. We have several things planned such as a "dino dig" (dig in sand for toy dino), making our own volcano erupt and creating a cool dino fact book. I have all this planned but cant think of a creative way to word his invitations. He is inviting his whole Kindergarten class (some of which do not have the money to bring a gift) so i also wanted to include that gifts are not expected on the invites. Any ideas?

3 boys, 1 birthday party: How do we word the invite so that people know to only buy for the boy they know?

Colleen

I'm having a birthday party for 3 cousin boys whose birthday's are all within the same month. Rather than have 3 separate parties, we're throwing one big party. How do we word the invitation so that people know that they don't have to buy 3 gifts but only for the boy they would normally buy a gift for? As if the parties were 3 separate ones.

Answer
I agree with B. Have each family send invites to people that know their child that they want there with the party details and then designate someone with a list of common family members to mail those with the same details.
On party day you may want to have parents greet the guests so they can accept the gifts for their child and set them aside until later for their child to open so no one is mixed up or lost in the process. It may also be something to consider in letting them open gifts at home after the party so if someone didn't have as a big of a turn out there are no hard feelings or upset between the kids (depending on how old they are, you didn't say). That way if someone ends up with 10 things and someone else only ends up with 4 or 5 by attendees at the party no one feels slighted.

I have always bought birthday party invitations in the past. This year, I would like to print my own invitations, for my sons Birthday party. He want's to have a Kung Fu Panda party. Is there any websites or good software to do this?

Answer
Check this out on Ebay - you can design and order your own king fu panda invites (not exactly print at home, but it sounds like what you want). I did this for my son's Lighting McQueen party. http://cgi.ebay.com/Print-Your-Own-Kung-Fu-Panda-Birthday-Invitations_W0QQitemZ150267544453QQihZ005QQcategoryZ26393QQcmdZViewItem

A few other options for print at home invites:

* My Card Maker: http://www.mycardmaker.com/
* Invitation Land: http://www.invitationland.com/

Good luck!

I want to print out my birthday party invitations. But I need to know how much per page I will have to pay to get them printed ?

Answer
Too much!! Fed-ex is expensive.

But it depends where you are?

If your in the UK i would recommend going to printing.com - if your in the USA or elsewhere, look online for cheap printing and you`ll find a better deal.

My friend and I are planning on conjoining our birthday parties since our birthdays are so close. We already know how to do the party part, but how do we figure out the presents? We can't just ask everybody to bring 2 presents.

I was thinking maybe I could put this at the bottom of the invitations:

"No need to bring presents
But if you insist on giving presents, please do so separately, before or after the party"

Would that work? If you don't think so, please give me your ideas!

Answer
That would work... but i think people automatically would bring 2 smaller presents. Like I go to my friends party each year and they are twins... they put nothing on their invite and people always bring them 2 presents

Suggestions for twin boys first birthday party?

Ivy has Tw

Right now I am having over a few people from a playdate group I am in, and am planning to provide cupcakes, goldfish crackers, and cut grapes.

Any suggestions for a birthday party on a budget? (will be held at our house, there will be 10 kids aged 8-20 months).

Invitations are online only. I said no gift required but used is preferred to new.

Answer
My son is 16 months and is absolutely obsessed with balloons, so I would say those are definitely a must. You can even buy them at dollar stores and blow them up yourself. You can also but decorations, plates, napkins and cupe there too as well as maybe some little games or something to play. Just go online and search for Dollar Tree and I bet there is one in you area.

What are some great ideas for a LOST theme birthday party?

We are going to have each room a different hatch, Dharma logos on all the food, Oceanic Airline tickets as invitations, a hatch cake and some luggage used in some way.
I need some good creative ideas for someone who is obsessed with LOST. The other party guests aren't into LOST so we'll just have to force them to go along with everything.
Ideas for food, games, other activities, and decorations would be very helpful. Thanks!

Answer
Kidnap people and wear rustic clothes!! Then let polar bears into the house and light a fire so things get smokey...

Haha, for real?

Play some Lost music instead of regular music. I'm sure you can find some off of Limewire or you can buy the CDs. The show really does have wonderful music. Put out a game of Backgammon, remember Locke in season one? Wrap Oceanic Airlines logos or Dharma Logos around your water bottles and such, because both had stacks of food with their logos on them. Maybe you can somehow make Dharma Cookies, they were little Oreos with the Swan logo on them. Remember when Sawyer was trying to twist them open in season two?

HERES THE BIG ONE: Go to http://www.webcyte.co.uk/lost/ and download "The Swan." It turns your computer into the Hatch computer. If your computer is in a central location, make sure someone pushes the button at all times. Press "Tab" to show the countdown on the computer screen. It's veeery cool.
