Ideas for a Tinkerbell birthday party for a 5 year old???

Kimberly M

My daughter is turning 5 soon and said she wants a Tinkerbell party. She said she wants a "total Tinkerbell" party, with everything Tinkerbell. I have seen the supplies for goody bags and the paper goods at Wal-Mart and those are cute, but I need some more ideas. Are there any games or activities you can think of that will tie in with the Tinkerbell theme? Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
also if you have any cool gift ideas please list those as well!

Answer
Invitations
A cool child birthday party idea for fairy invitations is to take a rectangular piece of paper (so that the long side is horizontal to you) and fold in both of the sides to the middle so it looks like a gate. On the outside write something like: "Take a peek through the garden gate". Then on the inside put lots of fairy and butterfly stickers peeking out through holes you've cut in the gate itself.
Inside you can write: "The garden fairies have gathered to celebrate a special day for a great little fairy" (and add her name and age). "Please come join the fairybration".

Another Tinkerbell child birthday party idea for an invitation is to cut out magical wands (a long rectangle for the stick and a star for the top of the wand). Using a silver gel pen, or any other nice pen, you can write this poem on the rectangular paper before rolling it up:
"Far, far away, in a magical place, sits a small little fairy, with her soft smiling face. She waits for her friends, in the warm summer sun; won't you come on (date of the party) to join the fun? With fun foods to eat, and fun games to play, your arrival at (time of the party) will make (kid's name's) day. She anxiously waits, as each day passes by, while her fairy parents await your reply" (and then write RSVP and your phone #).

You can also write that all the fairies come dressed in their fairy best - and boys in their pixie best. Don't forget to add a lot of fairy dust (glitter and confetti), and possibly fairy stickers to the invitation (you can also enclose fairy tattoos).

The color scheme for this Tinkerbell party is pink, purple and chartreuse.
Use a large amount of balloons and streamers. Cover your table with a matching table cloth or a pink sheet. Scatter pink, purple and chartreuse sequins all around the table. Run a long piece of pink or green nylon glitter netting (craft or fabric store) down the center. Make a centerpiece with a weighted bouquet of balloons, inserted into Tinkerbell Gift bag Cover the birthday girls' chair with nylon netting and ribbons.
Advanced decorations: Turn you home into Neverland with butcher paper , poster paints, fabric draped furniture etc.
To save time, enlist an artistic teenager to paint the scenery ;trees, flowers, mermaid Lagoon, Capt. Hook's Ship....etc.
The Tinkerbell party begins...
Upon arrival, adorn each guest with Tinkerbell magic dust.
Make the magic fairy dust before the party by mixing very fine polyester glitter and aloe-vera gel. Apply a small amount to the girls cheeks.

Tinkerbell Tag
Play this game just like "Freeze Tag".
Give each player a small pouch of glitter before playing.
One player will be "it". When you say "GO" the girls run from "IT".
If she tags a player, that player is frozen until another player sprinkles fairy dust on her. Make sure that each player has a turn to be "it"
and that each round does not take too long.

Stick the Star on Tinkerbell's Wand
"Oh-No", Tinkerbell's magic wand is broken and the players must repair it!
This game is played just like Pin-the-tail-on-the-Donkey.
Use poster board to make the game board and cardstock to make stars.
Draw a simple wand on the poster board, without the star on the end.
Add some glitter and other decorations if you choose.
Use double stick tape on one side of the stars and write the players
names on the other side. Use a satin sash to blindfold the players,
one at a time. Spin her gently three times and "steer" her in
the correct direction to the game board. The player will try to stick the star near the tip of the wand. The players who's star is nearest ...wins!
TIP: Young players may not want to be blindfolded and they can just close their eyes.

Tinkerbell Takes the Lead
You will need one pair of Tinkerbell Fairy wings for this game.
this is really just a game of Follow the Leader. One player wears the wings while the rest of the players follow her every action in a single file line.
Players will take turns leading as Tinkerbell.

Make a Fairy Wand
Use small dowel pieces, craft foam, glitter glue, very thin ribbon
and a hot glue gun (ADULT ONLY).

Before the party, paint all of the dowel pieces with silver spray paint
and cut the craft foam stars. You may be able to find pre-cut stars at your craft store. At party time the girls will decorate the stars with glitter glue. Attach the stars to the wands with the hot glue gun.
Then then the girls, with help can tie pieces of ribbon to their wands
for extra ornamentation.

Tinkerbell Craft
This is best for parties of 6 children or smaller.

You'll need:
White coffee filter, green food coloring, wooden craft clothes pins,
fine tipped craft pens, yellow yarn, medicine dropper.
Before the party, paint the clothes pins with white spray paint.
Flatten the coffee filters to make circles.
Cover the work area.
Mix the green food color with water in a few bowls.
The children will use the medicine dropper to drop green color onto
the coffee filters. It doesn't take very much, as the color will spread.
While the filter is drying. Help the girls cut small amounts of yellow
yarn and glue it to the top of the clothespin (Tink's Hair).
Use the craft pens to make faces on the head of the clothes pin.
Then "scrunch-up" the dry green coffee filter and insert it in the
clothespin to make Tinkerbell's Wings.
To make this craft even easier...paint the clothes pins green before
the party and use the white coffee filters with out the green food color.
This will make Tinkerbell's body green and the wing's white.
Tips: ask an adult to help you dry the coffee filters with a hair dryer
to speed things along. You may want to make this craft with smaller clothes pins and use yarn to make a necklace.

Easy to Make Tinkerbell Birthday Cupcakes
Add food coloring to white cake batter making light green or pink cupcakes.
Frost with white frosting. Sprinkle "Pixie Dust" (colored sugar) on each cupcake and insert a Tinkerbell cupcake pick into each one.

Tinkerbell Child Birthday Party Idea for Drinks:
*Fairy fizz - Place a full glass of red punch in front of each guest and add some fairy dust (a few Pop Rocks candies) to each cup. The kids just love it when the candy crackles, pops, and splits when it comes into contact with the liquid.
*Sparkling apple cider (you can pour it into disposable plastic wine glasses and let the kids decorate the glasses with jewels, sequins, glitter etc. beforehand)
*Fairy punch (raspberry sherbet and Sprite)
*Pink lemonade
*Strawberry tea (If you want to add more of that strawberry taste to your strawberry tea, do the following: make half a pot of strawberry tea with three bags, let it steep a bit and then add a few drops of strawberry extract and three or four drops of red coloring. Then add milk and sugar to taste)

Tinkerbell Child Birthday Party Idea for Treats:

*Magic wands (pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with star-shaped decorations or just plain sprinkles)
*Fresh-fruit wands (take wooden steak skewers and put grapes, strawberries, and other cut fruit on them and at the top put a melon cut into the shape of a star using a star-shaped cookie cutter).
*Chocolate-covered Fruit (melt good-quality white, milk or dark chocolate in the microwave until you can stir it smooth. Dip strawberries, grapes, and orange slices halfway into the melted chocolate. Lay them on wax paper and let them cool a couple of hours. Once cool, gently peel off the wax paper and serve on a fancy plate.)
*Heart-shaped or star-shaped rice crispy treat wands (you can add a stick in them to look like wands; also you can dip in chocolate and add sprinkles for more of the wand effect)
*Magic gems (A bowl of pastel colored jelly beans, skittles, etc.)
*Cotton candy wands
*Marshmallow wands
*Fairy dust (pixie sticks)

Party Favors

If you want to fill your own, a cool child birthday party ideas is to put fairy dust (pixie sticks), fairy stickers and tattoos, wands, bubbles, ring suckers, stick on earrings, plastic jewelry, all kinds of bracelets, jewels, hair accessories, ring-pops, magical wands, body glitter, fairy stickers, stick-on earrings and a whole lot of other cool fairy trinkets.
(For the boys you can prepare pirate favors in little treasure boxes or in bandana. Fill them with skull pops, golden chocolate coins, a compass, gem pop rings, candy necklaces, tattoos, gold chocolate coins, small telescopes, skull key chains, skull pencils, etc.)

13 th birthday party?

heyy im throwing a 13th birthday party for my cousin have you got any suggestions what she could do please reply thanks

Answer
Here's a few options for you to consider for your cousin's 13th birthday party:

SLUMBER PARTY WITH A THEME
Decide upon a theme and then create your invitations, decorations, and activities to coincide with that theme.

Campout Sleepover
Make sleeping bag invitations. Use glow in the dark stars and moons and lots of flashlights. Make s'mores. Flashlight treasure hunt.

Makeover Party
Give each other manicures, pedicures, and facials. Watch some girlie girl movies.

Hollywood Party
Create some invitations to look like theater tickets. Hang up movie posters, line your walkway with a red plastic tablecloth to create the red carpet. Have everyone come dressed like their favorite celebrity. Watch your favorite movies.

A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS
Make star-shaped invitations. Decorate with black and silver or black and gold balloons, streamers, and table decor. Hang glow in the dark stars and moons from ceiling. Have a telescope available for star-gazing.

A BLAST TO THE PAST
Select an era like the 50's, 60's, 70's, or 80's and design your party around that era.

50's Party
Make invitations look like 45 records. Use black and hot pink as your party colors and hang lots of balloons and twisted streamers. Throw in some 1950's toy cars as decor. Have girls wear poodle skirts and oxfords and boys wear bowling shirts or preppy sweaters and glasses. Watch I love Lucy DVD's, have a sock hop, and hula hoop contests.

60's Party
Have everyone wear bell-bottom pants and tie-dyed t-shirts, along with love beads. Make peace symbol invitations and hang balloons and streamers in all the psychadelic colors. Add a lava lamp or two. Make daisy chains and create tie-dyed t-shirts.

Well, there's a few ideas to help get your creative juices flowing. Hope your cousin has a great day!

Should I list what my child likes on his birthday party invitations?

Brina

Answer
I actually saw a birthday card insert on ebay one day, that I am sorry I didn't pay more attention to (or order)...basically from what I remember it was like a business card, that gets inserted in with birthday invitation. There is a small pic of the party theme (i.e.: Elmo, princess, whatever-maybe matching the invitation theme) and it listed the following:
clothing size, shoe size, favorite animals or characters, etc. (I suppose you could change it to meet your needs)
I have twins turning two in August...I think this is a wonderful idea! Having to return clothes that don't fit, or toys that we already have is at times such a hassle especially with kids in tow, as we all know. I figure it might end some of the continuous calls as to what they will like or not like or what sizes they wear, etc.
I think partygoers would appreciate knowing what the birthday boy or girl wants. It still gives people the option to buy anything they want, but helps them in knowing sizes, etc. I do not think this will in any way affect how they appreciate a gift in the long run. Using this idea for children from ages 1 to 5 or 6...why not? I can't see using this idea when a child is older (or for an adult). Now that might be construed as tacky.
Personally I think including a little information would be a good idea. I intend on doing it...even if not for friends...at least for the family members! There is just too much to do in planning a party (even for little ones), that I don't have the time to always field these questions.
Go for it! Make it tactful and I think you'll find others trying to do the same in the future.
Good luck! and Have a wonderful happy stressfree birthday party!

Good Birthday party ideas for two 16 year old twins?

PrettyPink

So me and my twin were talking about party ideas for our 16 birthday it wont be anything big really we had a Quinceañera party so this year we are doing just a party with our closest friends. So what are great ideas for a teenage 16 year old twins birthday party? At first we wanted a bowling party but we are not sure the price is kindof high, and I love paris so I wanted a paris theme party but my sister isnt into the whole pink and paris thing. What are some themes we could do and what food or what games and activities? Our birthday is in January (I know we still have a long way to go) So it is cold and snowy here where we live. We are trying not to spend a lot so not so expensive party ideas would be great thanks in advance!

Answer
Having a fancy dress party, or costume party, is always a great way to have fun. When my friends have birthday parties for dressing up, they generally create a theme for it. You could pick movies, books, celebrities, or even video games. My cousin had a great party where everyone dressed up as Nintendo characters, and baked a Mario-mushroom shaped cake.

For invitations, you could have the person RSVP back to you with their costume, so that way no one wears the same outfit!

Serve food themed to your party, and make non-alcoholic beverages with cute names.

Birthday Party Invitations?

My son will be having a birthday party at an indoor facility where kids can play. Now for the birthday party invites for his classmates, can I just put my email address for the RSVP because I'm not a phone person? I know it's tacky but do you think it can work?
Or can I just put an email address and a phone number and the guests can choose how they want to RSVP?

Answer
Well I just had a Birthday Party for my daughter at an indoor bounce house. So I need a count on how many people. I put my phone number and email address on the invite. Most of the RSVP's came via email. Which was nice so it was easier to keep a count. I always screen my calls so if I didn't know the number I didn't answer and let them leave a message. I think you need both because as weird as it sounds some people just don't email (I know crazy right?) I think I only had 2 people call. So I would say do both and let them choose.

ps. You will also probably get A LOT of people who won't RSVP by the time you requested or at all (it was really annoying)

I need help with wording for my dad's 50th birthday invitations?

Syrian gir

I am throwing my dad a surprise 50th birthday party. I thought it would be neat to have the theme as the 60's and 70's since that was when he grew up, the only problem is I can't figure out what to say in his invitation. I want something unique and that goes with the theme. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
It depends on the type of person your father was when he was growing up. It is entirely possible that he and his friends don't remember most of the 60's and 70's so you can word the invitation any way you want.
Just have every one bring a favorite memory, put them all in a binder and have fun reading the memories. These and be signed or unsigned depending on the writers desire to remain a respectable member of the community.

Answer
- Bowling.

- Survivor Party

*Decorate with tiki torches, luminaries, and "most coveted"- the immunity idol.

Think balmy and exotic! Bright and colorful is sure to set a tropical ambiance.

Palm fronds and palm trees should line the area.

You can create grass huts out of grocery bags by cutting it into thin strips, and hanging on a card table.

Be sure to cover your patio umbrellas with raffia. You can also use a tropical scene that covers a long wall rather than individual decorations.

Fishnets and seashells are a great accent. You will want to make sure you have plenty of tropical flowers, whether fresh or silk.

Line the area with Hawaiian themed posters and art.

Tiki statues make great table centerpieces. For the evening ambiance, tiki torches are a must.

*Survivor Party Games- "Immunity Challenges"

Gummy worm eating contest. The first team to eat all their worms wins!
Treasure maps. Hunt for selected items around your yard. Make a map out of a brown lunch bag. Burn the edges of the paper for an authentic look.
Tug of war. Tribes face off in a challenge of brute strength.
Obstacle course. Survivors must meet specific challenges such as walking through a balance beam (wood planks placed on cement blocks), untying a rope to get a key, etc.
Limbo and hula hoop contests are also great fun. It's easy planning and everyone is a closet "hula-ist."
A Pearl and Shell game is great fun for the more analytical guest. You will have three shells, and underneath one, you will have a pearl (or whatever item you choose). It's kind of like a magic trick or card game. The dealer moves the three shells around, and the guest chooses which one has the pearl inside.
Another creative game is to split the guests into several groups. Purchase floral cloth fabrics for your tropical theme, and give the fabric to each group. The group has to make the most creative attire possible within five minutes. Examples of attire include skirts, headbands, Speedos... whatever they can imagine! Vote which group has the most creative and fun idea.
Bonfire creation. Tribes have one match and must create the highest fire with only items found around the yard- sticks, leaves, etc. No flammables!
Place bets to see who will be the "ultimate survivor" in the season finale.
Skip the tribal council- no one likes being voted out!

*Costumes/Dress Attire

You can certainly get very creative with your survivor party theme, but most guests will participate if it's easy. Survivor t-shirts and Hawaiian shirts are nice and easy and will guarantee 100% participation. Guests may also choose to wear sarongs or beachcomber hats and sandals. Women get more accessories, with flowers in their hair and shell jewelry.

*Invitations/Printables

Personalize the invitations to say Survivor _____ (group name, organization, neighborhood). Draw or include items such as tiki idols, tiki torches, palm trees, coconuts, etc. You can also glue shells or sand to the invitations.

Another great idea is to visit your local travel agency for Hawaiian travel brochures. Attach your invitation to the brochure to set the stage for your island paradise party.

*music

Hawaiian & Caribbean music should be played in the background. Reggae and Caribbean music are also good to add to the mix. Even though Jimmy Buffett, isn't technically Pacific Rim, he is well known for a tropical paradise theme!

*Food & Drink

Here are some ideas for enticing cuisine: Spiced pork Rice Steamed vegetables Barbeque foods Fresh fruits- pineapple, strawberries, melons, papayas Fresh vegetables Crab salad Roasted bananas Macadamia nuts Hawaiian sweet bread See our theme party recipe cookbook for thousands of recipe ideas.

Tropical paper goods can be found in your local party store.

The best drinks include Margaritas, Mai Tais, Pina Coladas, Bahama Mamas, and Frozen Daiquiris. Be sure to have Hawaiian punch on hand for the non-alcoholic set as well as water for all.

Drinks should be served in pineapple or coconut cups to keep with the theme. They can be found in your local dollar store when they become available.

Twilight themed birthday party ideas?

Kayla B

I'm having a birthday party at a bowling alley but they don't have a twilight them,i'm getting a twilight cake,I already have twilight invites but i need more ideas like plates 4 the party and decorations.please please help me!! P.S my birthday party is on may23th soooo in need help fast!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Hey that's cool...my birthday is May 24th! Anyway, maybe just find red and black plates, spoons/forks, napkins or look at http://www.orientaltrading.com/party-supplies/theme-packs-a1-377341-1-0.fltr online for supplies. Could you maybe get the owners to play the soundtrack on the loud speaker? It just depends on the bowling alley for that part. You could give out toy/candy fangs as a party favor. Have fun!

I also found this at http://www.pepperspollywogs.com/blog/index.php/twilight-book-party/
For your invitations, purchase plastic vampire teethâreadily available during the Halloween seasonâand cut heavy black card stock down to invitation size. Fold the paper over to form an invitation card. On the front, write âBella and Edward invite you toâ¦â in chalk, and provide all of your Twilight party details inside. Hole-punch the card and attach the vampire teeth with a white ribbon. Hand-deliver or mail your invitations to your guests. Make sure to ask them to wear their teeth to your party. You may also ask your guests to dress up as their favorite Twilight character, too.

A good time to hold this party is dusk moving into night ⦠the time when vampires come out to play!

Decorate your party area with black and red balloons, streamers, and tableware. The plastic vampire teeth would also make great napkin rings. Hopefully, it will be raining to give the feel of Forks. Place a sign on the front door, stating âForks, Washingtonâ for authenticity. Make sure to place bright red apples throughout the party area. If you can find Twilight movie posters, even better. Using the Internet, collect all of the best Twilight fan art and create a large collage to place in your party area, too. Scatter red candies all over. These Harry Potter blood pops are another good decoration and treat for this party. Also, Amazon has the Twilight soundtrack, which would be great to have as mood music for your party.

i need a party idea for a 13 year old boy. any suggestions?

Answer
Wow, seems most people here think that 13 is really young. It's not, a 13 year old boy is on the verge of being a young man. They would be seriously offended by some of these suggestions.

Does he skateboard? You could have a party at a skatepark, those are good places.

A paintball party, let him get it all out of his system lol

Comedy night at home, rent tons of good comedy films and order in pizza

Camping for the weekend, go fishing, canoing, etc

Have fun :)

Answer
What about these-
Think of a B-day theme and then think of invitation themes like-
*Beach theme* Put each invitation into a see through beach ball and have your friends pop the beach ball to get the invite.
*Movie theme* Make a invite look like a movie theme or put it in a old DVD/ Video case.
*Fashion theme* Give your friends a wallet or small and inexpensive accessory with the invite inside it. Maybe a cute, inexpensive tote.
Or you could just go with a hand crafted one. Old fashion. Plus, It's not the invite that counts, it's that YOUR 16! You halfway through the most torturous years of your life. HIGH SCHOOL!!!!

Any suggestions on surprise birthday party for girlfriend? Houston?

just Pham

Hi I'm planning to throw a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend. I'm thinking of trying to get all of her friends together and surprising her. Thing is, I don't know where to throw it at, OR how to get started. Any ideas or good suggestions? If it helps, its gonna be in Houston so if you know any good places to book, thanks a bunch!! Good idea to throw it at a house or a public place?

Answer
Answer: I would start by asking her closest friends for ideas. They will have familiarity with the territory, available venues, and what may makes her rock. You are in Texas, how 'bout a ho down BBQ in a park. Perhaps her friends would volunteer their homes for you to host. Both the park and friends can save you lots of $ . They can help you with decorating, themes, invitations, another words all planning, and set up. Hell, they will probably do all the work lovingly. You will of course have to offer to pay them, and give them a small token of appreciation.

I stopped doing the whole by scratch thing a few parties and 2 kids ago. Now, I let the kids pick a few things that I make...the rest is store bought or bought handmade from other people.

My daughter picked the invitations & cake for me to make for her 10th. She is having a Little House on the Prairie party. The cake is easy...I am making little covered wagons out of apple spice cake.

I have no real ideas about the invitaitons though....I need ideas! Thanks!

13th birthday party ideas? cheap?

My

my little sister is turning 13 soon and since my family is low income and she really wants a party, I decided to pay for it for her. it needs to be cheap or even free depending on your creativity because I just started at McDonald's and I'm already saving. it doesn't need to be big either. I'm 16 so something easy and cheap would be great. please and thanks I really want to make this special for her! her birthday is September so it could be outside depending on the weather.

Answer
About 2 months before her birthday, follow these steps:
- First thing you have to do is pick a date, time and location (at home is the cheapest choice!). If your house has a backyard hold the party there. It also can be in a park but you may have to pay a fee.
- Start to make a guest list. This is essential to calculate the amount of food and drink, and since you're on a low budget, keep the list small.
- Ask your sister if she wants a theme. I will give generic ideas because themed parties can lead to higher spending.

1 month before:
- Send invitations. Making your own invitations is cheaper than buying them ready. One day I received an invitation for a 15th birthday party, it was a plain white envelope, inside was a card and when I pulled the card a pinch of star confetti slipped out. I found it very cute. It was a cardstock card decorated with little glitter stickers and the informations (date, time...) were handwritten. You can make your own invitations, design an art on your pc or print them from a web page for free:

- Shop for party supplies. I personally think that buying disposable plates, cups and cutlery is an unnecessary expense. Use the plates and cups you have at home. Borrow! Not everything needs to be coordinated, can be mismatching. It's cool! Buy only napkins and other materials for decoration: some balloons and crepe paper to make pompoms. Here is a tutorial: http://www.thebusybudgetingmama.com/2010/08/diy-tissue-pom-poms.html

2 to 3 weeks before:
- Plan a few games. Play games that don't need many materials: charades, musical chairs, telephone. Make a treasure hunt with items you have at home. If you sister has board games, play them as well.
- Decide on the menu. I have noticed that limiting the party to determined treat or food comes out cheaper, for example, ice cream party, bbq party, pizza party...I suggest pizza because there's always a topping to please the pickiest eater, plus pizza is filling so you don't need tons of them. Purchase prepared pizza dough in a discount grocery and just throw sauce, cheese and any topping you want the just heat. For drinks, buy in bulk large bottles of soda, they're cheaper than individual cans.

1 week ahead:
- Call any guest who have not responded.

2 to 3 days ahead:
- Go shopping any food you will serve. Bake any treat that can be made ahead.
- If you will give favors, assemble them. Now, think "discount stores"...make cellophane bags and buy items such as stickers, mini soaps, glitter pens, little tubes of facial scrub. Put them in the bags and tie with ribbon. It's not expensive if you buy in the right places. But if it's too much, you can skip the favors. Instead buy prizes for the winners of the games.

The day before:
- Clean the party area.
- Bake a cake. Yes, baking a cake is way cheaper than ordering one. Bake a simple sheet cake, frost and top with colorful sprinkles. You can use boxed cake mix to make your life easier.

4 hours before:
- Set up the party area. Arrange chairs, fill and hang the balloons and pompoms, put candles on the cake, stack the plates...

1 hour before:
- Set up food - my suggestion is pizza, but can be whatever you want - and drinks.
- Turn on music and wait the guests!

When shopping think Costco, Family Dollar, Sam's club, BJ'S...Stretch every single dollar, honey. It seems difficult but it's not. I'm a party planner and I assure, takes work, but it's not difficult and you don't need to spend a lot of money. Hope this helps. Get creative and have fun!

Birthday Invitations?

Samantha

I am planning my boyfriends 25th birthday party and am planning on doing a Luau Theme. I want to get really nice invitations, so is there any site that does free printable or fairly inexpensive luau theme or Hawaiian theme invitations. I would like to be able to have them printed so if a site does that, Im willing, as long as it is not crazy expensive. I only need about 30 invitations and I dont want to spend more the $40 so if anyone has any ideas, let me know please!!!

Answer
there is a luau printable here
http://www.make-your-own-invitations.com/printable-luau-invitations.html

they also do cheap printable photo invites - just tell em what you want and they make printable for you to print at home.

Party Help, Please!?

Dancer

I need help with a few things for my party. Here is the info on the party. It will begin in the late afternoon/early evening and continue into the night. There will be about 30 people at the party--it's a co-ed 13th birthday party. There will be mostly girls, though. The theme is a color theme, which is lime, magenta, and orange. There will be music/dancing as well as a pool and jacuzzi. These are the things I need help with :

--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number?
--what time should the party start and end?
--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort. Still looking for ideas
--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs?

Please answer as many of these as you can!
Thanks, please email me more ideas if you can!
My email is purplebeachchik@yahoo.com

I'm thinking about handing out glow sticks.

Also, what are some door prize ideas?

Answer
--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number? AT LEAST 1 MONTH BEFORE AND DO AN RSVP NUMBER.

--what time should the party start and end? PARTY SHOULD START AT 4 AND END AT 11

--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort. Still looking for ideas MAKE A SPECIAL CD MIX OF SONGS FOR THE PARTY AND MAKE A COPY OF THE CD FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS THEN YOU COULD PUT A REALLY GREAT PERSONAL LABEL ON IT FROM YOU TO THEM...

--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs? MUSIC MIX. IT GETS TOO CONFUSING TO HAVE EVERYONE BRINGING THEIR OWN CD'S AND YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR KEEPING TRACK OF THEM.

Good Luck and have fun!!

I need teen birthday party help!! Please answer this question!?

I didn't have room for these in the first topic, but here they are!

--I am thinking of handing out glow sticks..is this good?

--email=purplebeachchik@yahoo.com
I am very craftsy, so I can make things look very nice when really, I got them at the $1 store. So, I will be doing favors. The party will be on a friday night.

Answer
Hi,
I'm an event planner -- I've been planning events for over 15 years. So in answer to your questions:

--how early should I send out the invitations, and should I include a response card or a RSVP number? You should send invites one month prior to the event date. It's good practice to have include an RSVP number. Consider using evite rather than sending out invites -- cheaper and much easier.

--what time should the party start and end? start 6pm (people will come fashionably late around 7pm. End 10/11pm. For 13 y/o there could be curfews...

--what should I give people to take home (party favors)? Don't say that we're too old for those. I was thinking something more classy-looking, such as a candle and a small box of candy along with a burnt CD, or something of the sort.
Yes, always have party favors. It makes the party!
I like your CD idea. Chocolate kisses wrapped in a little bag is always cute with a little note like hugs and kisses from the birthday girl.

Still looking for ideas
--music--should I make a music mix before hand or tell people to bring CDs? NO make your music mix. It's easier to have music rather than folks playing around on your stereo. Or, you can have a few friends help you make the party mix prior to the party.

Hope this helps!

How should I word an invitation for my daughter and nephews joint birthday party?

Mom2Three

My sister and I are having a joint birthday party for my daughter and and her son. (Their bithdays are only 6 days apart.) She is only here for the summer while her husband is doing military training in S.C. We thought this would be the smart thing to do rather than to plan two separate parties only days apart. The only issue that I am having is this: I don't want her husband's family to feel obligated to buy a gift for my daughter and I don't want my husband's family to feel obligated to buy a gift for my nephew. How can I word this on the invite so that it doesn't sound tacky? I would just tell people when they RSVP, but hardly anyone does. What should I do?
I guess I should add the fact that, while my sister and I have a large family, our in-laws all know each other. Her in-laws know my kids very well and vice versa. I think if they know it is a joint party, they will WANT to bring a gift for both children, but I don't want them to feel obligated to. I just want them to come, eat good food, and enjoy themselves. Our kids have everything they need and will both have more than enough gifts to open.

You do seperate invitations. People who are related to both get 1 invitation with both names. You can put a PS on the bottom that says she will be sharing this party with her cousin, but 2 gifts are not needed!

Co-hosted Birthday Party Invitation Wording?

cherrysoda

My son and 3 of his friends are having joint birthday party. The boys' birthdays are all only a few days apart. I am having trouble wording the invitations. The moms who are co-hosting the party with me all agree that we DO NOT want the guests to have to purchase a gift for each one of the boys (total of 4 gifts- yikes). Instead, we would like to the guests to bring only one gift. We'd like to suggest a gift card. That way we can evenly divide the gift cards among the birthday boys. We don't want to come of rude and or tacky. Any suggestions?!

Answer
This is why people don't do joint b-day parties. I find it rude to also tell people what to buy and I don't think you can not come across as rude. Just send out the "joint" party invites and let the guests bring what they like. You might be able to write that gift cards only please or gift cards would be appreciated. But what are you going to do about the money on the cards? What if one card has 25$ and another has only $5 or 10$?

15th birthday party ideas?

GiGi LaRue

my 15th birthday is coming up.
any interesting ideas or party themes?

Answer
Have a BBQ and pool party. Here are a couple of themes and a few game ideas. Hope this helps!

Here are some ideas from parties that I have had or been to in the past.

1. Do a scavenger hunt. Divide into two teams of 4 people. Enough to fit in one car. Give each team a digital or polaroid camera and a list of items to find. After one or two hours teams will return to your house and turn in their items. Have a BBQ and people can share pictures and stories of the scavenger hunt and determine the winner. Each picture is worth a different amount of points. You can collect tangible things as well as pictures of the team doing things. Some ideas are:

1. A picture kissing a handsome stranger (the group can vote how many points depending on how handsome)
2. A picture of how many people they can get in a phone booth (one point per person, two if the get people to join in not on their team)
3. A picture with the team posed in crowns from Burger King.
4. A picture with the team standing in front of a Hooters restaurant lifting their shirts over their faces and showing their hooters. (One point for each male and five points for each female)
5. A picture of a team member lying on a pool table.
6. A picture standing or swimming in a park lake.
7. A picture of a team member wearing a trenchcoat.
8. A picture of the team on a slide in a playground.
9. A picture of the men on the team in a women's rest room
10. A picture of the team playing football (bonus if they are wearing helmets)
11. A picture of the team in one dressing room at a department store.

You can also have tangible "Things" on the list that are worth a certain number of points.
-- 1 point items:
paper clips, old movie tickets, a garden tool from the neighbor, napkins or matchbooks from a bar, etc
-- 3 point items:
Include things like an autograph of a high school quarterback or cheerleader (someone from your party)a nametag from a convienence store clerk (bonus points for the longest name), the sexiest pair of boxer shorts or underwear from a neighbor or someone is wearing at the party.

2. Have a BBQ/pool party. If you have a pool, get some Tiki torches from home depot, some leis and inflatable palm trees from Party City, and have everyone wear their bathing suits. You can also get some Christmas lights and string them in the trees real cheap. For music, you could have an iPod with speakers. Play some games like limbo, or if there is a pool, do a belly flop contest, There is also skinny dipping at midnight, my all time favorite!

3. Play Kick Ball or Wiffle Ball. I hosted a wiffle ball party a few years ago. Everyone had fun! Go to a park near your house. Play an hour and then go back to your house and BBQ. Your menu can include hot dogs and peanuts just like the ball park. You can make a party goodie bag for everyone with a pack of baseball cards, bubble gum, and small toys.

4. Play strip poker. Tell everyone in advance so they can come dressed however they would feel comfortable. Some people might wear crazy print pattern boxers, sports bras, sexy lingerie, or long underwear, whatever they are comfortable wearing as underwear around other people. When we played, we had one girl wear a slinky black dress and like eight pairs of underwear. It was hilarious to watch the guys each time think she was going to take off the dress and then she would take off more underwear. Anyway, take a group photo before the game starts with everyone dressed. Once you lose and you are in your bra and underwear, then you are out. Once the game ends, take another photo with everyone in their underwear. For those who are shy, they can wear a paper bag over their head. When I did this it was twelve people. The party was alot of fun and the photo was the best part. Everyone wanted a copy of the photos.

5. Murder mystery. You can buy these games at most games stores or Hallmark stores. The Game kit includes invitations, characters for each person, costume ideas, and menus to serve in theme with the party. I have done two of these parties and both were a success. If you have a barn, decorate it so it is in the theme of the party.

6. Frozen T-shirt contest. The day before the party, get T-shirts wet and put them in the freezer. At the party, whoever can get the shirt on first is the winner.

7. Truth or dare. I know it is cliche and usually ends up amounting to nothing, but it is almost a rite of growing up. If you want to try a different approach, have everyone write five questions for the truth jar and two dares for the dare jar. Each person has to choose from one or the other until they are all gone. This is good for two reasons. First, you might draw your own dare so they aren't too crazy like run down the street naked or something ridiculous that can't be done. Second, it doesn't turn in to escalating dares that become ridiculous and then everyone just chooses truth.
Truth Questions:
1. Have you ever seen a porno film? Who did you watch it with?
2. Who do you fantasize about when you think about sex?
3. Your lover has been magically transformed into an animal, and the only way to restore your lover is to mate with them. Here's the question: Which animal would cause you the least psychological damage?
4. Would you think it was a turn-on if your bf/gf wanted to watch Disney movies with you?
5. Have you ever cheated on your bf/gf (if they have one), or would you ever cheat?
6. Have you ever gone a whole day without wearing underwear?
7. If you could be born again would choose to be a different sex to what you are?
8. If you had 24 hours to live, what would you do, what movie star would you want to kiss, and who would you notify that you are dying
9. Describe the sexiest clothes you ever wore and why.
10. When did you stop bathing with your sibling?
11. Who has the biggest balls you've ever seen? (funny since it can be told literally, but someone will take it sexually. I could be talking about a medicine ball!!!)
12. If I was a food what would I be and how would you eat me?!?!
13. What they would do to a girl or boy for a Klondike Bar.
14. How far have you gone?
15. How far would you go with someone you are attracted to, that you just met, and will never see again?
16. What is the most embarrassing thing you've done?
17. Have you ever skinny dipped? If so, when and with who?
18. Would you marry your current bf/gf?
19. Do you really love your bf/gf?
20. Have you ever made a fool of yourself in front of someone you were interested in?
21. What is the stupidest thing you've done because someone dared you to?
22. What is the stupidest thing you've done on your own free will?
23. Tell everyone who you like.
24. What is the strangest dream you've ever had.
25. Which guy (that at least four people playing the game know) do you think has the longest p e n i s?
26. Which girl (that at least four people playing the game know) do you think would give the best BJ?
27. What's your favorite thing about the opposite sex?
28. What's the worst thing about being your gender?
29. If you could have anyone here in the room to be your slave, who would it be and what would you make them do?
30. Rate five boys that everyone knows on a scale of 1-10 31. What's your idea of a perfect date?
32. Have you ever masturbated? Have you ever been caught?
33. Have you ever had an orgasm? Was it by yourself or with a member of the opposite sex?
33. How old were you when you saw a boy or girl (other than a relative) naked for the first time?
34. Who was the first boy that you let touch your boobs? Why did you let him? or Who was the first girl you showed your peni s to? What were you hoping she would do?
35. If you were a boy, would you want your girlfriend to swallow when she gave you oral sex? Why?
36. How old were you when you touched a boy's penis, not counting relatives or babysitting?
37. Have you ever been in a brawl?
38. Who do you think is the best looking person in the room?
39. What is the worst date you have ever been on?
40. If you were invisible what is the first thing you would do?
41. It you were the opposite sex for one hour, what would you do?
42. How old were you when you had your first real kiss? Tell the tale.
43. Have you ever peed in a pool?

Dares

1. Kiss someone for a given amount of time (ex. kiss for 2 minutes w/ tongue)
2. Find something edible in the kitchen for the person to eat that isn't meant to be eaten straight (ketchup, salt, flour, ...)
3. Run around outside screaming something totally inane. An example being have someone go chanting "I am woman, hear me roar!"
4. Go out on your porch and sing the "I'm a Little Teapot" song.
5. Go out into a public area scratching their crotch and saying, "Damn these crabs really itch!"
6. Have a person smear jelly in one armpit and peanut butter in the other armpit. Then they must take two slices of bread and wipe it off. Then they have to eat the sandwich!
7. Eat a piece of food (such as a grape or whip cream) off someone else's tongue, belly button, butt cheek, etc.
8. Push a penny around the toilet seat with your tongue.
9. Make-out with a pillow or teddy bear for a certain amount of time, say the guy or girl's name they like and make kissing noises.
10. Do a cart wheel naked.
11. Play one round in your underwear.
12. Trade underwear with someone in the game and wear their underwear for one round. When it is your turn again, you have to put your underwear back on.
13. Lick the floor
14. Blow a raspberry on the stomach of the player sitting opposite you
15. Stick their finger in their butt and then lick it.
16. Pick their nose and eat it in front of the group.
17. If you are a girl, touch someone else's boobs. If you are a boy touch someone's peni$.
18. Dive in a pool naked or run through a sprinkler naked.

HELP on INVITATION IDEAS FOR PARTY?!?

.Afigal220

i'm having an hawaiian party theme for my last birthday party (17th) everyone has to ware something hawaiin looking like the flowers and what not...and i already have hawaiian lights to go around my deck and pool, party cups, hawaiian skirts for the tables and tiki lights/tourches and other things ECT. BUT i need an idea for the invitations. SOMETHING REALLY COOL,not just the normal invite with plain paper, you know? please help!!! thanks!

Answer
You have really good theme and could pick a variety of invitation types.
1. e-vite~ I know it is not all that creative, but it is a great way to monitor who can come and who can't. Plus you can decorate the invitation with "beach" type designs.
2. On the Hallmark website you can order these unique invites that I think would be great for your party. I think for like $15 you can order 30 or more singing cards that you designed. You can decorate the cover with Hawaiian stickers and when they open it it will play a song of your cchoice. Last year for my Sweet 16 I had a "Boardwalk" themed party and this is how I sent out my invitations. When ever someone opened my card it played the song "Under the Boardwalk".
3. My last idea is that you can by Hawiian lais at a party store and attach all the neccessary info to it. All you would have to do is print off your address, date, and times on a funky colored sheet of paper and tie it to the lai.

Happy 17th B-day

13th Birthday Party Ideas?

Z

I'm turning 13 this December (the 29th) but i'm planning to have my party January 5th, or a Saturday in January.
I'm not that much of a girly-girl, I definitely don't want pink decorations or invitations, blue, turquoise, purple, absolutely!
Any ideas for food, decorations, games, links to cool planning websites or invitations? Thanks so much!
And this party has my guy friend and my girl friends AND all my family, so it has to be something everybody will like. Spa parties probably won't work.

Answer
I'm 14 and I think that having an ice skating party would be a great idea.(since it'swinter and everyone likes that)

Food:
Pizza(everyones fave lol)
chips
soda
birthday cake(w/your fave design on it, ice cream cake would go w/the theme)
brownies
candy

set-up:
meet at your house and than you guys go in a carpool to the skate rink where you guys could skate for about 2 and a half hours or so, than you could go back to your house, have pizza, than have a dance party(whatever music you like is great, but I would choose holiday up-beat songs like the radio carol of the bells, winter wonderland, and songs such as cotton eye joe. barbie girl(everyone will laugh at that one, but in a good way), and great balls of fire. ciara goodys and one two step are also great and Haly Scarnato tell him, and turn the beat around are great for getting everyone moving. after that you could have the b-day cake and open your gifts.

Decorations:white and ice blue streamers, silver balloons, banner saying happy birthday, pin the tail on the donkey(I know it sounds dorkey but it gets so crazy and fun) a pinyata in the shape of an ice skate, and pictures of skaters all over the walls(hence christina yamaguchi, sarah hughs, michelle kwan.

games:
pin the tail on the donkey
pinyata
dance party
treasure hunt(hide iteams around the house such as lip gloss, mini bottles of body spray from bath and body works, mini pinball hand-held games(for guys)claires earrings, phone keychains, skating pins, pencils, pens, notebooks, juice boxes, hackey sacks, (p.s give the guys a seperate list with things that they would want to find) and whoever wins could get a super prize such as a purse from target like this
http://www.target.com/Xhilaration-Heart-Handbag-Pink/dp/B000OMEZEQ/ref=sc_ri_3/601-8041683-6633733
movie tickets, gift cards to panera, blockbuster, or fave clothing store, paylas, orticket to go ice skating, five dollars,or a webkinz, be bratz dolls(4 fun), for the guys it could be a soccer ball, sports jersey, blockbuster gift cards.

Invitations
http://ecards.myfuncards.com/myfuncards/Occasions/Invitations/11173/mfc_birthday_celebration.jhtml (send 2 all your friends)
or just make a card(that way you can do it any way you want)

other ideas of parties could be:
indoor pool party
movie thearter party
mini golf indoor party
(same after idea you just go to a different place. you may have to adjust the decorations a little to work with the different ideas but they should all work. the blockbuster gift cards would work awesome with the movie thearter idea.

oh yea the pinyata could be in the shape of an ice skate, a golf ball, movie ticket, or pool cap. You could also make it pin the tail on the reindeer sience it's near christmas. inside the pinyata you could put winter candy, and winter oreos for your food would work great.you could also use winter themed candy for your table candy.

hope this helps

Birthday Party Ideas :2 yr girl?

C0TintheAC

I live in North Carolina.I'm not originally from the US..never had a party..keeping this in mind :
*My girl is turning 2 in March. She has just 2-4 friends her age.I want to invite some older people too.
*I live in an apartment-no backyard. But we have an indoor clubhouse I can rent.
*I want to dress her up in a tutu.Is that okay for a bday party?
*How do I make sure how many people are coming for sure? What time is best for the party(bday is on a sunday)?
*What kind of food should I order(since there will be adults also)? *What games can I have in the clubhouse(limited space)?
*What will the adults do when the kids r playing?

I'm so nervous about this party.Appreciate any help!

Answer
The tutu is fine. You could have a ballerina or princess themed party to go along with the tutu or just let her wear it. Send out the invitations 1-2 weeks before the party and have a RSVP date on the invite along with your number to call.
For the time of the party if she still takes naps try and have it before or after her nap so she wont be cranky and she can enjoy the party.
For the food you can have pizza, tacos, sloppy Joe's hot dogs, cookies, etc. Pretty much anything will work. Also make sure you have drinks for the kids and the adults.
Games-Pin the tail on the Donkey, Bean bag toss, bowling, make a small craft, or toddler musical chairs.
The adults will be talking to one another and watching the kids play.
Try not to be so nervous and if you would like help with anything else feel free to email me. I have done many of parties.

So, I'm a teen girl and I want to have my birthday party and I'm looking for an something to do that's inexpensive and fun. Any ideas?

Answer
- Pool party (at an indoor pool, hotel, out door pool)

- Makeover slumber party (you could ask every one to bring nail polish, hair products, and stuff for everyone to use. That way you don't have to go out and buy supplies. If your budget allows, you can buy things for facials and get one of those wax bath kits for your feet and hands, they are so cool!).

- Camp out party (you can pitch a tent in your backyard and sleep out there. You can have a grill out dinner, and roast marshmallows).

- Casual boy-girl party or even just a simple slumber party with all your girl friends and having lots of fun activities.

- Potluck movie night (have all your party guests bring a snack, refreshment, main dish, or desert and have a big potluck. After dinner, you can make popcorn and watch a movie (or have a movie-marathon!).

I don't know how old you are, but I hope these are some good ideas:) Have a great birthday party!! :)

im planning out a sleepover for my 14th birthday. its in january, there will be about 5-7 friends.... any activity ideas?

Answer
Ideas for sleepover party
Throw an indoor camping party
Set up tents and sleeping bags inside the house, make microwave s'mores.
Have a Glam Girl party
Set up the living room like a salon, where the girls can give each other pedicures, manicures and hair styling. To ensure safety, stick with nail-filing, nail polish, braiding, brushing and hair ornaments. You can also rent or even find in your closet) some dress-up clothes for the girls to wear. Wigs and glasses.
Get crafty
Autographed Pillowcases â Give each guest a white pillowcase and have everyone sign or draw pictures on them, using fabric markers or paints. Be sure to insert a piece of cardboard into each case so the markers/paint don't bleed through.
Friendship Books â Have guests make mini scrapbooks with pages crafted from fun questions or projects â things like "Draw your favorite outfit," "What's your favorite food?," or âOn my best day, I would...â.
Make ice cream sundaes(or coca for cold nights), play games, and tell stories.
Make it a Movie Night
New Classics â Sky High, Cheaper by the Dozen, Holes, Hoodwinked, Chicken Little, The Incredibles, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter & and the Sorcerer's Stone/Chamber of Secrets/Prisoner of Azkaban.
Just for Girls â High School musical, The Princess Diaries I and II, Raise Your Voice, Ice Princess, The Lizzie Maguire Movie, Ella Enchanted.
Rise and shine.
Funny Face Bagels â Cut bagels in half and toast them, if desired. Slather cream cheese or peanut butter (accounting for peanut allergies) on the bagels for a base, then let guests make funny faces using shredded cheese for hair, sliced sausage links for eyes, strawberry jelly for a mouth, and dried cherries for noses.
Smiley-Face Pancakes â Use canned whipped cream, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, blueberries, halved strawberries, diced bananas, dried fruit, or other edibles to make eyes, a nose, mouth, hair, etc., on the pancakes. Get creative!

birthday party ideas?

one_of_a_k

i'm holding a birthday party for two 14 year olds. we are inviting about 10-15 people, and we need ideas for what the activity of the night will be. its a sleepover. we need ideas other than going out to the movies or a spa party, because we have already done that. thanks for you help!

Answer
these are some ideas:

Sleep-overs have always been a popular party ideas. Whether it's a backyard camp out or sleeping bags on the playroom floor, there's a special feeling to sharing late night laughs that makes for a great social gathering.

Pie Supper - Invitations are circles of tan card stock cut into pie-shaped wedges. With dark brown paint, make a fluted edge on each "crust". With scissors, make slits to let "steam" escape. Write time and place on reverse side of wedge. Pin each wedge to small paper plate. Of course the menu is pie, and have a spy, so that the one eating the most wins a prize.

Pancake Parade - Great after a slumber party. Get up, you sleepyheads; this is a morning party. If you perfer, make it late a late evening affair. Whatever the hour, the party's in the kitchen. For invitations, send miniature skillets, with a tag attached stating details.(Or use round coasters to resemble pancakes, and write details on them. Borrow extra griddles so that the pancake flipper can keep up with the demand. Have several types of pancakes: banana, pecan, buckwheat & etc. Different types of syrup: maple, strawberry, raspberry & etc. Whipped cream for topping. Hot cocoa.

Magazine Party - Here's a party with it's own entertainment. Guests come dressed as title of a favorite magazine; a prize for best one. For invitations, just paste front cover of a magazine onto piece of white paper; with marker write details on reverse side.(or cut each of 8 magazine covers (of same size) into 8 squares. Onto each piece of white paper, paste a square from each magazine.) Pin magazine covers to tablecloth. For refreshments, reproducing a tempting dish shown in a magazine color photograph. For games: Unscramble Mixed-Up magazine titles. Identify Trademarks - Cut 25 trademarks from magazines, paste on cardboard, then number 1 to 25. Give a sheet of paper & pencil to each quest. Ask guests to number paper 1-25. Show trademarks, one by one; let them jot down manufacturer beside correct number. Prize goes to highest score.

You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine - This is an idea for an after-movie snack. The gang splits up, and each person goes to the movie he'd like to see most. About 11 P.M. everyone meets at your place for: Soup & Blockbusters (Sandwiches).

On-the-Go Party - This is a co-operative affair. Everyone brings a prearranged fee and meets downtown. Hostess has planned two or three events--roller skating, a ride on a bus the gang doesn't usually travel on, ping-pong or darts in somebody's basement, Pop and Pizza at Pizza Piazazz, (Choose events to suit your locality.) Nobody knows plan of events except host or hostess.

Doughnut-Dunking Time - This party idea was borrowed and adapted from New Orleans. First serve "poor boy" sandwiches with coffee or hot cocoa. Then bring in a bowl of doughnuts--packaged ones, reheat in oven or automatic deep-fat-frying kettle. Have wooden bowls of granulated sugar--one for each guest or two. Everyone dunks his hot doughnuts in the sugar, a la The morning Coffee House in New Orleans French Market. And, of course, replenish the coffee or hot cocoa.

Victorian Formal Dance at Home - Have guests come dressed in Victorian Clothing. The music is the most important item in your budget. Skimp on everything but that. Let the invitations be worded formally, but not necessarily printed. Decorations can be the same as those listed in the Sweet Sixteen Party except use a Victorian Design wallpaper to make fans. Let younger brothers & sisters open the door and attend your cloakroom. You and Mother greet the guests. When the guests arrive welcome them with soft background music and a full punch bowl to be available throughout the evening. Have a buffet supper at midnight, perhaps. Remember that gentleman serve ladies. Little extras: good ventilation, good lighting, a dressing room for girls complete with powder puffs, and one for fellows with a mirror to straighten their ties. Plan on a Paul Jones very early in the evening plus novelty dances. Father's responsibility is to dance with the ladies that haven't been asked, or to suggest that a nearby gentleman do so.

"This is Your Life" Party - A party for a special friend of long standing, who is moving away or going to college. Make a recording, "This Is Your Life," complete with voices of friends, school-teachers, and so forth. Let the school song be the musical background. Visit our graduation ideas page for details on having a "This is Your Life" Party.

House-to-House Party - A progressive party where a food course is consumed at each house visited.
Misfit Party - Dress: Wear combinations of clothing ordinarily not worn, as bathing suit with furs. Give prize to the most original outfit.

Platter Dance - Blast from the past! Hang up a few dozen records (visit an antique store or make from back poster board)--on walls of your party room. Serve: cola drinks, platter cookies. Frost round cookies with chocolate frosting, with circle of white in the center. With cake decorator, print name of "record" on each. Play 50s music for dancing. Visit our 50s theme page for other decorations and party items.

Bachelor party ideas?

yaya

My buddy just got engaged. Extremly happy about this, great girl. I'm in the wedding party, so we're looking for bachelor party ideas. His fiance won't care about strippers. Just looking for more ideas then the classic bar and strip club. Also are joint bachelor/bachelorette parties good ideas?

Answer
* Poker Night: Themed accessories can create an entire poker party venue, and watching poker championships while playing with friends can be a great way to relax at home.
* Casino Trip: Traveling to a casino can be a long bachelor party weekend including different gambling activities, good food, and other entertainment.
* Sporting Events: A sky-box or suite is a great location for a sports-themed bachelor party, complete with catered food, excellent views, and other spectacular service.
* Movie Night: Guy-favorites such as the Matrix, Die Hard, and other action movies can be the focal point of a cinematic bachelor party, including nachos, pizza, and other movie snacks.
* Home-care Party: While it may not seem like much fun, gathering all the groomsmen together to help with lawn care, washing the car, and doing minor home repairs can not only be an
opportunity for horseplay and casual fun, but itâs a great help to the groom-to-be to have these chores taken care of before the wedding.
* Sportsmen Event: Whether itâs a day of fishing on a nearby lake or hunting in the back-country, enjoying sportsmen activities together is a great way for the male members of the wedding party and close friends to bond before the big day.
* Playing Sports: A touch-football game, round of golf, pool tournament, paintball challenge, or day at a baseball training camp can help work off nervous energy and enjoy good friends for the soon-to-be non-bachelor.
* Food Party: A beer-and-bratwurst party, chili cook-off, or ultimate barbecue feast is a great way to indulge in delicious food and celebrate the groom-to-be with his favorite foods

thank you for the help

Answer
Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

3. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

4. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

5. Visit your nearest beauty salon and ask to be trained as a shampoo person who is also willing to sweep up fallen hair on the ground and do set ups [arranging dye kits, curler holders, etc.] for a set hourly fee.

6. Become a sign flipper by contacting your nearest realtor. A flipper is someone who stands at a major intersection and flips a "For Lease/Rental" sign in order to attract visitors to an open house or to a particular real estate listing. The hourly pay is at least the minimum wage.

7. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

What should my graduation party theme be?

Emma

Okay so my school system is weired and 6th grade is still elementary, so we are going into Jr. High School next year. I am having a graduation party with about 15 people but I don't know what to theme it. Our dance the week before we graduate is a loua theme so I don't want to take that idea.It can even be a color theme all ideas are welcome. Thanks!
P.S. It's a pool party. Sorry I forgot to say that!

Answer
Popular pool party themes include:

Caribbean magic, with appropriate music and snacks
Luaus with leis and other Hawaiian décor
Cruise ship themes with life preservers and passport party invitations
Survivor themes with team buffs, grass shelters and competitive challenges
Waterpark themes when the party is actually at a local waterpark, complete with slides, wave pools, and other diversions
The key to a great teen party theme, however, is to remember not to overdo it. Many teens would prefer an understated theme that hints at coordination instead of an outrageous theme that may backfire.

Teen Pool Party Essentials
With or without a theme, there are several basic necessities every pool party requires.
]Food
Because the party will revolve around water activities, it is best to keep food light: sandwiches, hot dogs, fruit, cookies, snow cones, and cool drinks are great options. Silverware should be limited (opt for cupcakes instead of a birthday cake, for example). Glass plates, bottles, or cups should be avoided to prevent accidents that could cut bare feet. Barbeques are great options for pool parties as well, but be sure to offer vegetarian options for conscientious teens.

Activities
Coordinated party games are not usually necessary for teen parties, but having fun pool activities available will encourage teens to entertain themselves. Beach balls and volleyballs are popular choices, as are different floating pool mats and lounges, diving sticks, and water guns. Appropriate calypso, steel drum, and beach-oriented party music (the Beach Boys are a great choice) can add even more fun and may inspire an impromptu limbo contest.
]Accessories
To make the pool party enjoyable for everyone, be sure to have a good supply of necessary pool supplies on hand, including:

Extra towels, including small towels for hair
Sunglasses or visors
Sunscreen, preferably a quick spray-on formula
Swim goggles or masks
Tanning lotion
Adequate shade from trees, umbrellas, or gazebos
Plastic bags or a safe, dry place to store clothes and other non-pool gear
Waterproof cameras to capture every splash
While most teens will bring their own supplies, having extra on hand will ensure that everyone can have a great time even if they forgot something essential. It is also advisable to have an extra swimsuit or two available if necessary.

Safety
What starts out as a fun party can quickly get out of hand with rambunctious teenage energy. To ensure pool safety, be sure the pool area is clean and free from debris that could be stepped on, tripped over, or used inappropriately. Remove unnecessary equipment (hoses, childrenâs toys, etc.) from the area to free up space and eliminate temptations, and before guests dive in, be sure they understand the safety expectations. Horseplay and dangerous stunts should not be tolerated at any time.

]Pool Fun Out of the Water
A teen pool party isnât just about having fun in the water. There are plenty of ways friends can enjoy pool-oriented activities before they dive in, and many of these activities can also be used to space out eating and swimming to prevent potential cramps or injuries.

Decorate inexpensive flip-flops, sandals, or visors
Stage a swimsuit fashion show
Play a game of beach or lawn volleyball or badminton
Arrange a land-based water fight
Enjoy some tanning time
Relax in a whirlpool if available

Hope this helped! Have Fun!
