Immature 18th birthday party ideas?

Q. I'm wanting to throw a really fun bday party for my 18th bday... one idea i thought of was doing something immature since I'm supposedly becoming an adult (lol) ... i just need some good ideas! no drinking or anthing like that... a pary with a ton of friends! and something fairly cheap... thankyou!!

Answer
Slip & slide party! Invite all of your friends for the after noon and have the sprinklers and waterslide and everything. have water balloons and cake and ice cream. Have party hats and the matching table cloth. Make up little goodie bags. have a pinata and pin the tail on the donkey or musical chairs or soemthing. Send out invitations in the mail (I just got a pack of 10 for $1.50 at walmart in clearance that are super cute). This is what I'm doing for my step daughter's 6th bday party in a couple of weeks. Just think back to parties from when you where in elementry school.

Or

Have your friends over for a slumber party. Rent old movies that you watched when you were little (disney, casper, etc.) and have popcorn and fruit punch and chips and ice cream and cake. All of the good stuff. Have pizza for supper or all make your own. Do eachother's nails and makeup...play dress up. look at issues of J-14, teen, 16, etc. play truth or dare. Just have fun.

I love your idea. sounds like you'll have fun and have some good memories before all of you leave for college.

Birthday tea - any ideas for a 7 year old ?

Spooky1

Instead of a party, we have bought our son a trampoline and would like to ask him to choose say maybe 3 good friends to come over for a birthday tea. I am going to do 'party' bags and 'party' food, but the entertainment will be the trampoline and playing together with his toys.

How should I word the invite?, any interesting food ideas?, any ideas at all to make this a memorable day for him? Thanks
I will make the possibly dinosaur shaped invites myself.
April - wow, how mean are you?, not called for at all....
I am in the UK - where a 'tea' party is considered just fine. Tsk, the language devide could cause complications if I let it!

Answer
I'm sure by 'birthday tea' you don't mean 'tea party' but inviting a couple of friends over to have dinner as some other answerers have been a bit confused.

I think for the invite you should just go with format for party invitations, but just swap 'party' with 'dinner'. Then you just have the normal details, who, where, when, what to bring (if anything), rsvp etc. The dinosaur shapes sound great!

Party food ideas: pizza, cookies, cupcakes, donuts, popcorn, toasted sandwiches, sausage rolls, chips and dip, soda, fruit juice, jell-o, gingerbread people, ice cream, fruit kebabs, lamingtons, chocolate mousse, rocky road, mini hamburgers, nachos, tacos, carrot & celery sticks, candy, chocolate, toffee apples and brownies.

To make it memorable, just make sure you have some other party games (as well as having fun on the trampoline). Take lots of photos and film (if you have video camera) and keep the kids entertained and safe.

Need Help With a Rhyming Birthday Poem or Invitation Wording?

Latasha St

Ok friends I need help, my baby Devyn will be turning Seven in February and I'm looking for a cute and different theme for her. Not your normal kid characters or princess. I was thinking maybe a All About Me with her photos & the number 7 everywhere but I don't reall know.

Answer
Seven year old kids need the theme to be kept simple ...
I have a grandson turning 7 in February also ...
>
Maybe the theme could be about the number 7 ... itself ...?
"All about me" ... is a bit boring for a birthday party ...?
If that is what you meant by "invitation wording" ...?
*
-Devyn is turning 7 and the party will be heaven-
There will be 7 gifts to win in the pass the parcel game ...
On the birthday cake, there will be 7 candles all aflame ...
You can win a prize if we pick out the 7 with your name ...
Each cardboard 7 will be drawn red and look the same ...
*
The 7 gifts can be very simple and cheap ... such as ...
A small packet of pencils or crayons.
A small bag of lollies.
A small puzzle toy.
A small coloring in book.
A small novelty book.
A packet of novelty playing cards.
A small bubble blower.
(((You know what I mean?)))
If all of the kids at the party are girls then a little cheap jewelry items, maybe?
With the cardboard sevens ... you just cut them out and color them and write each name on the back and then put them into a hat or a barrel or big plastic bowl and the birthday girl wears a mask or blindfold and picks out the lucky number 7 winner of the prize. It can be anything really but once again, it can be relatively cheap and fun but make it a bit better than the pass the parcel gifts, so a cheap board game that you get from a novelty shop or a skipping rope if the kids are all girls or if there are boys there also, make it a unisex gift. A cheap board game is more than likely the best but you can think about that.
Display that gift during the party.
Number 7 stick on badges.
Party hats with number 7 on them ... you can buy the stickers and stick them on to the hats.
Lolly bags/baskets, that they take home with number 7 on them, again, use stickers.
The birthday cake can be shaped as a big number 7.
Pin the tail on the donkey can have a number 7 for the tail???
The paper or plastic cups you use can have 7 on them.
And the list goes on.
I'm sure you will think of more ideas ... such as the balloons?

girl's sweet 16 party ideas?

Yes, I do

So I'll be turning 16 this fall and am thinking up ideas for my "sweet 16" which will most definitely be a "mixed" party (as in both genders attending)
To be totally honest I hate thinking of it as such a girly, princessy, spoiled brat occasion-- I find those gross. I've already tossed some ideas about with my mother and here's what we've come up with::
-Capture the flag::
One of my favorite outdoor games. Gotta love this one-- It's my top pick.
-Nerf war:
Nerf guns are always a plus!!
-Roller Skating at the local roller rink.
OK so I'll admit I've had 2 or 3 parties at the rink, but I'm a Rollergirl... What else could you expect from one!? (a rollergirl is a chick who plays roller derby for those who don't know)
-Beachy-barbecuey thing at the beach on Lake Superior
This one would have to be more towards summer but I still love it. Rocks are fun to climb.
-Scheduling a Roller Derby bout for my party
My mom started the local roller derby league. It wouldn't be that hard to do this one :P
Yeah, I've got nothing else. If you have some ideas they'd be very appreciated. Just for some further info, I'm not girly and therefor hate the typical spa day, shopping at the mall, princessy ****. Please don't suggest those generic ideas.
I like rock music, outdoorsey things (not most sports though), that sort of thing.
None of my friends are the "partying" type.

thanks!

Answer
It would be cool if you went to a lake or somewhere and camped over night with all your friends. and if your parents trusted you enough you could have them drop you off then camp there overnight and get picked up the next day, and maybe have a bon fire. :) good luck

Answer
Bouncy castle
Laser tag
Paintball
Water fight (get loads of guns and water balloons :D)
Trampoline
Pool? Or blowup pool
Camping outside?
Treasure hunt
Bulldog! :D
Hide and seek in the dark with night vision goggles (you can buy a cheap pair for 25 to 60 pounds. The seeker gets the goggles!

Movies or a movie at my house

Answer
Have a hawaiian style birthday party.

Invite about 20+ friends (i invited 30 and it was awesome) My invitations were like messages in a bottle (you can make them yourself or buy them from the site that will be listed below)

You should buy about two or three dozen leis (flower necklaces) and funny sunglasses. Have them there for when guests arrive. Take a group picture at the beginning.

I also bought a banner that you put your faces into take pictures and it was a hit! [most of this stuff can be bought from www.orientaltrading.com]

For drinks, you should have your mom or sibling make virgin blended drinks if you can find a good recipe (we made pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris). For food, you could get assorted fruits and make fruit-kabobs and also have some snacky things like chips. And of course, your cake, which could be any hawaiian design.

I had a dance floor made with a big tarp which i put sand on to make it seem like a beach and i had new music and a few hawaiian songs mixed in. So for entertainment I had dancing and also a little bit of a limbo contest. :)

I dont know if you have thte oppurtunity but this is optional. a firedancer, they juggle and dance with fire, it was very entertaining and the guests loved it.

by the way, it was for my fourteenth birthday and i had the party near a beach at a house with a big back lawn with a fire pit (make sure there is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows during the party too!)

some other locations you could have this at would be at a campground, or even in your back yard if you fancy it up enough! :)

well i hope you like this idea, it was very fun for me and my friends.

Activities For A Luau Birthday Party?

KK

Im having a luau birthday party and all I have for actities is Limbo....help

Answer
Issue invitations: When thinking of a birthday party celebration, the first thing that comes to our mind is invitations. Since the theme has already been decided on, sending out the party invitations in a truly Hawaiian style would be a good idea. You can send out a beach bottle invitation. Start by finding some clear water bottles and fill with a little sand and sea shells to give it a beach effect. Take a piece of bright blue color paper and write the party details on it. Then roll up the paper and place it inside the bottle. This will truly impress your guests.

Hang the decorations: To give your party a special Hawaiian effect, you can convert your party area into a tropical paradise. For a beach effect you can decorate with candles, luau lights, bamboo torches, and coconuts. If indoors, you can hang green and blue streamers from the ceiling to create a lagoon effect. You can also decorate the walls with palm trees that have been painted on poster board or cardboard and cut out. For the walls indoors, you can hang posters of tropical islands or travel posters. Drape fishnets over a fence outdoors or over the luau birthday party table to create a tropical look. You can also hang tiny shell necklaces around the yard or party room.

Find Hawaiian Party games: Games and activity play an important role in making your party a memorable event. For Hawaiian Luau birthday party you can go for

Dress Up Relay Game: For this game you will need to prepare 2 bowls filled with paper notes - one that has the names of the guests and other with the activity you want them to perform. Some examples of activities are âwiggle like a fishâ or âroar like a lionâ. The birthday child then gets to pick one name and one activity and then announce what the guest needs to perform. The best performer turns out to be a winner.
Imitate An Animal Game: For this game you will have to prepare male and female outfits ahead of time. Male outfits could include a shirt, hat, pants, shoes and a tie and the women outfits could include a blouse, skirt, hat, shoes, necklace and a purse. Then divide your guests into 2 teams and make them stand on different sides of the yard or party area. When the game starts, the first guest for each team needs to put on an outfit and run to the opposite side of the yard or party area. Then they have to take off their outfit and hand it to the next team member. The team which finishes first is the winner.

Create the party food: Good delicious Hawaiian food is a big hit at any luau birthday party. Snacks or appetizers of grilled satays or kebabs, fruit and veggies would work well. Another very festive idea is to serve Ice Cream at an Ice Cream bar. Preparing a luau cake is very easy and a great way to impress your guests. It starts with a rectangular cake of an flavor. Then cover half of the cake with white frosting tinted blue, so that it looks like a sea. Then cover the other half of the cake with white frosting and sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of it so that it looks like sand. Next, set Hawaiian toy dancers on the sand and have a tiny shark coming up out of the ocean.

activities for an 18 year-olds birthday....?

danielajus

I'mam planning a suprise birthday party for my friend who turns 18 this saturday...Its a poolside party....and i want to make this a fun party but i dont know what kind of activities besides dancing that would be fun....Please help me .....

Answer
Pick a place. Where are you going to have a party? On the street? At your house? At a friend's house? At the mall? At the local bowling alley?
Decide on a theme and/or goal for the party. If it's a dance party or a costume party be sure to have a checklist of the important elements that you think could make or break your party.
Determine a date/time for your party.
Decide on a budget. Are you able to spend a lot of money on this party or just a little? Discuss with anyone else who is going to be involved with the budget.
Find a date, if it's that kind of party. If you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend, then invite someone who you really click with. Do not, however, depend on this element to keep you company throughout the night. You're the host so you ought to mingle with everyone invited if you can.
Take into consideration who it is you want to invite to your party. Not everyone wants to dance, not everyone wants to listen to the music, some people want to talk and relax. Accommodate for different interests and levels of social comfort with space planning if it is possible, and if applicable, different age groups.
Start picking the people. Only invite guests that you want. Only invite people who respect you not kiss-ups. Invite people you would like to get to know better, and if you want your party to be big, tell them to bring their friends. Get as accurate a count as you can before the party so as to make certain you have the space, parking, food and drink to accommodate.
Make invitations or buy them. Pass them out within a reasonable time frame of notice. If you plan on instructing your invitees to bring friends, don't send out the invitations too soon or you could end up with a bigger party population than you can handle.
Determine what food to provide. Your food choice packs a big punch in your party. If you don't know what to get, ask around to see what your future party-attendees would like. Do not neglect drinks or chilled storage for these drinks.
What's a party without music? Pick music that you think will be most agreeable to the spirit of your party and your guests. It's a good idea to have an i-tunes window open on your computer so you can download tunes that guests suggest. If you don't have the money for i-tunes and don't have a lot of your own tunes, ask your guests to bring their own. You could also play a radio station that has whatever's hot, and call in with requests!
Set the mood/tone of the party with your music, lighting, decoration and attire. If you want to have an energetic dance environment, have music, strobe lights, lasers, fog machines and maybe some video synchronized with your music.
Clean your house and clean yourself. Nobody likes a dirty party. It's a good idea to have some cleaning stuff around, and stain stick just in case someone spills on themselves or your furniture. Make sure there is enough toilet paper! It may sound weird, but you don't want the only memory of your party to be an empty tube, and you really don't want someone you may not know using your hand towels.
Have some party games set up. This does not mean what it used to with pin the tail on the donkey or spin the bottle. Some games of interest may be: Scene It: A DVD-based game where players answer trivia questions about TV shows or movies; The Real Game of Life: This is a board game with a wicked twist that isn't all sugar, spice and everything as players deal with divorced parents, mediocre jobs/income, and marriage. It can be a real laugh; Rock Band: This game is available on multiple game systems with the objective of playing as members of a band with the use of the guitar, microphone and drum kit included with the game; Guitar Hero series: This can be a one or two player game depending on which edition you choose. Like Rock Band, it uses its own controllers of the guitar nature to play through the game's levels; Dance Dance Revolution: This can be one or two player depending on what controllers you have available. Step to the music as directed by the arrows on the screen. Even if only a few people play this game, depending on which edition you choose, can provide some great music.
Have plans to address rules and guest safety.

You never know what may happen though do not get hung up on your crush's presence.
If you aren't creative, buy your invitations. Invitations set the tone of your party so choose wisely. And be sure to be personal by putting names on your invitations. This will improve your party's attendance and make for a more memorable party.
Card making programs on your computer can be helpful, but if you don't have one of these, just wing it
Consider a theme. Try to pick something that goes with the season and has a catchy name. Grab a few decorations, conversation starters or party favors that match the theme. Invite people you like and/or know -inviting people due to their status won't enhance the status of your party or its quality.
Always show u

17 year old birthday party ideas..?

laurennnn

hiiii. i need ideas! my birthday is fairly soon so im looking for birthday part ideas
-it will probably be cold, so nothing outside
-ill be 17
-im known at school for being a really loud fun loving crazy person
-and i don want to spend hhhhheeeeaappppsss of money.

what theme should i have? it can be anything?

Answer
Choosing how to celebrate your 17th birthday may seem like a difficult task since it's the year sandwiched between two milestone birthdays---the 16th and 18th. To make this year's a birthday to remember, focus on something you enjoy doing, something new in your life or just having a great time while honoring the last birthday you'll celebrate without all the responsibilities and obligations of adulthood
Girl's Spa Day
Take a few of your closest friends to a local spa for a day of facials, manicures, pedicures and eyebrow shaping for a more grown-up theme. This can be the beginning of your birthday bash or the main event. For example, rent out a suite in a hotel that has an on-site spa so you can take advantage of the pool, spa, fitness center and other perks. Order room service and watch movies all night while admiring your fancy toes and fingernails.
Sports Activities
Sports-related birthday parties could include organizing a highly competitive football, basketball, volleyball or other sporting event. If you and your friends enjoy an array of sports, consider setting up mini-Olympic events and give out medals for the winners of each event. You could also get tickets to a local game featuring your favorite team or sport, even if it's a minor league team. Or plan a more involved day out for miniature golfing, go-kart racing, paint balling or nighttime cosmic bowling.
Co-Ed Party Ideas
Plan a co-ed party that falls in line with the things you and your friends enjoy. A formal black-and-white party or a hip-hop "bling" themed party will allow everyone to dress up for an event worthy of celebrities. Consider setting up a red carpet to welcome your guests complete with "paparazzi" (friends or parents taking photos). The invitations could serve as V.I.P. passes, and drinks could be brightly colored juices or mixed drinks sans alcohol. Similarly, a disco or rock-and-roll party could follow the same basic setup.
For a low-key party, consider a murder mystery event, particularly if you and your friends enjoy acting. Another idea is to simply set up a ton of food, play your favorite music and organize a video-game marathon or contest. Include popular games such as "Guitar Hero" or "Rock Band."
Birthday Outing Ideas
Plan an outing for you and a couple of close friends, or the entire group, if getting out is more your style. Consider putting a twist on a visit to your local mall by organizing a mall scavenger hunt. Separate your friends into two groups and give each team a list of tasks to complete and items to collect. This might include trying on particular clothes, taking pictures with mall employees (such as security), a button or similar items that you'd typically find at the mall. Other ideas include going to the movies, hiring a limo to take you out to a restaurant, or spending a day at a nearby theme park. And also If you like the movies, you should have a movie themed party, you could have everyone dress up as their favorite movie character. Or if there is one movie you like, you should have everyone come as a character from that movie. You could write different characters names on a piece of tape, and tape one character to the back of each person at your party. The whole night, people have to ask questions, then can only ask one question per person to figure out who they are, and they cant ask 'who am I?' Make sure for music you have different movie sound tracks, and you can even get those 'scene it' games.

WHAT KIND OF FOODS AND DRINKS, GAMES,ACTIVITTIES,JUST SOMETHIN FUN

Answer
i think it would be really fun to have a "hollywood" themed party.
Send out star shaped invitations similar to the stars on the walk of fame, with each person's name on it.

Tell your guests to dress in their most glamorous clothes and lay out a red carpet or a sheet.. or even just sprinkle little gold stars over the entry way.

Serve delicate finger food and fake cocktails and non alcoholic champagne.

Here are some ideas for games:

There are many elements to any good party â atmosphere, food and guest list among them â but party games are by far the most fun. These Hollywood party games are sure to be crowd-pleasers:

âAnnnnd Cut!â Hollywood Party Game

Prior to the party, write down several different movies onto slips of paper, and put the slips of paper into a hat or bowl. Have the guests pair up, and choose one pair to be âactorsâ first. The âactorsâ have to choose a movie from out of the hat, and act out a scene. The other players have to guess which movie is being acted out, with the first person to guess being the next person to âactâ with their partner. The game continues until all pairs have had a chance to be âactorsâ.

âFamous One Linersâ Hollywood Party Game

This Hollywood party game is a great one for guests to test out their movie knowledge. Prior to the party, write down famous lines from movies the guests will know. Gather the guests in a group, and one at a time read out each movie quote. The first person to call out the correct answer gets a point. To make this a little harder, for an extra point have them name the actor, actress or character who said it. Once all the quotes have been called out, the party guest with the most points is named the winner. Using Hollywood party games as a starting point, itâs easy to plan a Hollywood party. Itâll truly be a night worth remembering!

Birthday invitations?

Jessica H

My daughter's birthday is coming up. She is in preschool with about 20 other kids.
I don't have room for all of the kids, and I am sure only a small number will come.
My dilemma is that I don't know if I should invite the whole class or only the ones my daughter wants to invite. She has told me a few who she wants to be there.
So should I invite the whole class and put something like "special request" on the invites of the kids she wants to come? Or just invite those she wants to come?
I don't want to be rude, and I want all the kids/parents to feel welcome, but I really don't have the room. And if my daughter doesn't want to invite some maybe it's because they are mean to her at school, I definitely don't want that at her party. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!!

Answer
Commonly accepted birthday party invitation etiquette where we live is if you are inviting the whole class than delivering invitations at school is fine. If only some kids are invited than mail the invitations or offer a personal invitation via phone. You can't be sure who will come and who won't, so if you don't have room at your home for 20 additional children than don't invite that many. What we did for our kids' parties was if we were having the party at our home, they were permitted to invite as many children as they were old. We alternated if this number included them in the count or not. Our goal was to have an equal number of children present as even numbers always work out better than odd. For example, when they turned 5, they could invite 5 friends plus they would equal 6 kids total. When they were 6, they could have 6 kids total, counting themselves. So, basically every 2 years they had the same number of kids at the party. If they chose to have their party somewhere other than our house than we would base the number of invitations on how much the venue cost. Bowling parties and lazer tag were expensive so we limited it to 10 kids tops. The local pool offers packages that permit up to 30 kids and they provide the life guards so inviting the whole class is doable. Personally, at the preschool age, I'd go with a small group of kids and let her choose if it's going to be at your home. I would not go with the "special request" option only because that sort of thing gets around and takes on a life of it's own. Things can get dicey when people feel they are slighted or their kids are left out. It can be petty and immature, but that's how it is. I wouldn't stress an awful lot over this as it can quickly turn into drama and become less than fun for all. I suggest you find out who she wants to come and go from there. If she has kids she doesn't want to come ask her why. Friendships at this age come and go on a daily basis so who she says she wants this week may be different if you ask her next week. If you have other options for holding the party where everyone could come than consider that if that is what you both want. For some kids the more the merrier, but for others a few close friends is the best way to go. Consider you daughter's personality when deciding.

Golden Girls birthday party for 24 year old- decorations, invitations, et c??

Sarah C

I'm turning 24 later this month and had the idea of throwing a Golden Girls party to celebrate(the show is kind of a silly joke among my friends) where everyone who attends dresses up like a Golden Girl. I'm working on the invitations now- I found a picture of the Girls online and I used Photoshop to superimpose my face over each of theirs...kind of funny. But I'm not sure on the wording for the invitation.

Also, what kind of decorations should I buy/make??
I'm really excited and would love other people's opinions and ideas!

Answer
I love that idea...and I LOVED that show! they were so cute!
for invites say something like- Which Golden Girl Are You? then inside say you're invited to Sarah's 24th Golden Girl Birthday Party! Come dressed in your best Golden Girl look and best dressed gets a special prize. (you should get one of the Golden Girl DVD sets for the winner if it's cheap enough!) We'll have food, drinks and loads of fun. So, start diggin through grandmas closet and we'll see you there! then party info of course.
for foods make sure to have Italian type stuff from Sophia, ice cream that they ate at night all the time (..or was it cheesecake?), and maybe some southern foods from Blanche...and what was Rose- Norwegian?
decorations- they lived in Florida in the 80s so any of those pastel palm designs or just pastel colors would be good. you could find some fabric at the craft store and use it for table cloths or fabric napkins. then just some balloons and streamers should be fine. maybe if you could find a cardboard cutout of the Golden Girls would be funny!
download that "Thank you for being a friend" song and play it a few times during the party!
you could make up Golden Girls trivia questions to play a game during the party- have a special prize for the winner.

have a great party!

please help if any one knows about birthday party invitations?

Answer
Not knowing your skill level at manipulating images and text and such, I assumed a very basic level since you can't get free customized anything printed if you don't know at least a little bit about how to move things around on the page. And that's all you need to know, a little. These are both cute invitations, and both sites have other items if you don't really like either of these. Both items are free--you pay only for the paper and printer ink.

This free invitation includes Minnie and Mickey, and while the design is a little different than what you had for examples, you can customize this invitation with your own text, your own photos, your own graphics, and arrange them how you like them right on the webpage. You can then save the file to your computer to print later or print them right off the webpage, or you can even do both! Take your time with the customization...I noticed that when I worked faster than the customize tool, it slowed down almost to the point of freezing.

This set was designed for Shery's own daughter's first birthday. It is a whole Minnie Mouse birthday kit, with templates for printing party bags, cupcake wrappers and toppers, an invitation that resembles what you are looking for (add the photo yourself), and more. You download the kit for free and go to town at:

Good luck, and have a fun party!

12 year old Birthday Party?

Jennifer

I am turning 12 years old in April. I like shopping, being athletic and being with friends. I wan to have about 10 people at my party what can i do?

Answer
This answer will be long , but you wont regret reading the ideas ! (im assuming its 10 plus you . btw if your gonna have 10 people come then if youre gonna go with my idea you should get 2 of those ten people to help you out so you have 8 people doing the games and stuff ! it sounds confusing right now but youll get it. im 13 btw)
Me , Italia , and Laurel are planning a party , and are inviting 8 people (including us) and we are sending the invitations in boxes cause 4 peolpe will have a red bandana (red team) and 4 people will have a blue bandana (blue team). these teams will compete in the following games:
-Fruit ninja ! Were gonna get styrofoam swords and stick toothpicks in them and throw balloons up and they will try and pop them with the toothpicks . we dont know if it willl work though
-Obstacle course ! we just set up random stuff and make them run through it , duh !
-toilet paper modeling ! each team chooses one model and has 5 minutes and 2 rolls of toilet paper each and they make an outfit for their model .
-scavenger hunt ! were gonna tape balloons of their team color (they MUST ONLY POP THE BALLOON OF THEIR TEAM COLOR ! if they pop the other teams , they get disqualified) to random places and it has a hint in it. so they will be running random places looking for the next hint. and the balloons are labeled 1, 2, 3 etc. and they must get the balloons in chronological order. the last hint will be in a treasure chest at the bottom of my pool and they all have to dive in and get it :) and theres only one treasure so first one to it wins !

we are providing prizes for each winner (like lotions , perfumes , girl stuff xD)
and 5-7 of those people are spending the night c:

Sorry its REALLY long but its gonna be a LEGIT party and i dont care if you steal ideas !

was it wrong to write this on my daughters birthday party invitations....?

maylene185

her invites were dora holding 3 balloons.....
in one ballon i wrote size 4t in another i wrote she likes barbie
and in another she likes little petshop.....

then the invitation was filled out with the usual time place ect....

party was yesterday and today my hubby is mad that i told people what to buy and or was making them buy something by writing that.

it was only a suggestion since last year she got boy stuff and clothes way too huge for her!

was this wrong of me to list her size and stuff liked?

at the end of the day she still got clothes way to big although she did get 1 barbie and 1 petshop toy....which made her so so happy....

Answer
Yes it was wrong! You get what you get and you don't throw a fit! So when people showed up w/out the correct "gift" did you deny them cake? When I RSVP to a bday party I'll ask the parent what the child is into and what size they wear.

What would Barbie do?

breisme

I'm in the process of planning a Barbie Princess Party for my daughters "First" Birthday. I've done searches for ideas and some of them are cute, but not unique. I'm making the Barbie cake and the lil Skipper cake for her to dig into. I've purchased a bolt of pink fabric for our entryways "Pink Carpet". I've got the pink and white balloons. Fake pearl garland for the tables. I even purchased a pink pouffy "Princess" dress for myself and her. There will be mostly adults at this party and I really want everyone to dress like Barbie would. My problem now is the food and invitations. I want food that is cohesive to my theme. So, What the heck would Barbie serve? And is there a cute idea for homemade invitations? I was hoping that someone out there has some ideas for "pink" food...and no, I would rather not put food coloring in mashed potatoes and sour cream. Maybe a jello salad or a great finger sandwich recipe. I'm just at an end, trying to figure out a meal plan for 40 plus guests. Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance:)

Answer
===
No offense, but you said this is a "first" birthday? I think this is just a little over the top for a birthday she isn't even going to remember. Plus, do you really think 40+ adults are going to dress up like Barbie? You may want to take down the theme just a notch, IMO.

Hot Pink Lemonade

1 cup water
2 cups white sugar
2 1/4 cups fresh lemon juice
7 cups cool water
2 cups ice
3/4 cup blueberries

Directions:
1. Boil one cup of water with the sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until the liquid becomes clear. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Pour 7 cups of cool water and ice into a serving pitcher. Add the lemon syrup and blueberries; stir until you get a 'hot pink' color.

What's wrong with me? birthday party?

Stoika

I made a birthday party(I booked laser tag) and it's going to be tomorrow. I told 15 people in advance, and 8 people aren't coming. I feel hurt. Other people have birthday parties and most people go. I asked someone how much they wouldnt expect to come(she organised a couple of parties before) and she said out of 20, she would expect 3 not to come.
I just feel like people are making excuses...maybe I'm just annoying or something.
I don't feel like going now because I look like I don't have many friends..which I don't, and I feel ashamed of. Most of the people I invited were acquaintances anyway.
I asked people 2 or 3 weeks before
I told people...but I also told them to get back to me if they could go. I sent a couple invites over facebook, but they didn't reply and so I opted to tell them in real life

Answer
Hmm... I wouldn't take it too personally. Usually acquintences are less likely to come to parties than close friends. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are annoying, they just might be afraid of awkwardness because they don't know you or the people coming extremely well.

Did you send out formal invitations or just "tell" people? Sometimes things mentioned in conversation are taken as more casual where people say they "might" come, or decide not to come. Sometimes its better to have an actual invitation (it doesnt have to be formal.. but over facebook or formal is fine too) so people have all the information.

Don't worry about it too much.. stuff comes up sometimes.. enjoy hanging out with the seven people that are coming :)

I am throwing a Laser Tag Party for my 11 year old boy, any ideas on what to place in goodie bags?

tx_gurl_n_

Anyone have cool wording for invitations?
I mean items for bags that have a Laser Tag theme.

Answer
"You've been tagged to help me celebrate my birthday!"

As for goodie bags, check out your local party store. They'll be able to show you some good, but inexpensive stuff to put in them. What things does your son enjoy getting? Most kids that age like the same things.

Pokemon cards are still popular.
