Do you have your child dress nice for birthday parties?

My sister is going to a birthday party this weekend and we decided that she would wear a dark green sundress with sunflowers and ladybugs on it with shorts underneath. The invitation was pretty clear about it being a princess party. But now my dad is saying that he should just wear jean shorts and a t-shirt. She is six and her friend is turning six. I remember dressing nice for birthday parties when I was in elementary school.

Parties usually have a dress code. If it says "wear a princess costume" go and dress fancy. If you have that concern, call the parents of the birthday child and put it on SPEAKER in front of your Dad to possibly prove a point.

If it was like a pizza party, I would dress casual. You know? If it was a waterpark party, I would dress in a bathing suit with a tank top and shorts on too.

I am hosting a Ladybug Birthday Party. I thought it would be cute on the invitations. I have googled and no luck. I get curlz with dots or something like that.
