Golden Girls birthday party for 24 year old- decorations, invitations, et c??

I'm turning 24 later this month and had the idea of throwing a Golden Girls party to celebrate(the show is kind of a silly joke among my friends) where everyone who attends dresses up like a Golden Girl. I'm working on the invitations now- I found a picture of the Girls online and I used Photoshop to superimpose my face over each of theirs...kind of funny. But I'm not sure on the wording for the invitation.

Also, what kind of decorations should I buy/make??
I'm really excited and would love other people's opinions and ideas!

I love that idea...and I LOVED that show! they were so cute!
for invites say something like- Which Golden Girl Are You? then inside say you're invited to Sarah's 24th Golden Girl Birthday Party! Come dressed in your best Golden Girl look and best dressed gets a special prize. (you should get one of the Golden Girl DVD sets for the winner if it's cheap enough!) We'll have food, drinks and loads of fun. So, start diggin through grandmas closet and we'll see you there! then party info of course.
for foods make sure to have Italian type stuff from Sophia, ice cream that they ate at night all the time (..or was it cheesecake?), and maybe some southern foods from Blanche...and what was Rose- Norwegian?
decorations- they lived in Florida in the 80s so any of those pastel palm designs or just pastel colors would be good. you could find some fabric at the craft store and use it for table cloths or fabric napkins. then just some balloons and streamers should be fine. maybe if you could find a cardboard cutout of the Golden Girls would be funny!
download that "Thank you for being a friend" song and play it a few times during the party!
you could make up Golden Girls trivia questions to play a game during the party- have a special prize for the winner.

I am going to have a birthday party coming up soon, and obviously, I need some creative ideas of invitations. I am a 14 year old girl going on 15 and I really want my 15th birthday to be memorable. I'll start by making creative birthday invitations and I would like you ideas. There really isn't any theme, just a fun memorable birthday and slumber party! Please help, answers are appreciated! (:

Can you bake?: For my fifteenth birthday I baked cupcakes and spelled out the details of the invitation in icing on top of the cupcakes, I gave everyone two to get all the information on the invitations. For my sixteenth I bought everyone's favorite shade of nail polish and lipstick. I spelled out the invite with bottles of nail polish and tubes of lipstick.

Any suggestions on a camping themed wedding?

I've decided to have a camping themed wedding (me and my husband-to-be LOVE camping). Does anyone have any good ideas for a menu, favors, flowers, decorations, etc? Our budget is really small (round-abouts $4000 for 50 people) so I'm prepared to be doing a lot of DIY-type stuff.
Not a formal event - I'll be wearing a wedding dress but it'll be a short one. We're going to be doing the ceremony and reception at a campground, I just need ideas for a menu, favors, flowers, decorations, etc.

well i think best in order of events so here i go...
Ceremony:
-at the end of the aisle you could have a ton of candles framing around where you'll stand, or if you want to go all out have a standing arch with flowers in you colors (to keep costs down make sure the flowers you choose from are in season)
- wedding program: either way id do DIY something simple- one sheet in a subtle color of your choice and leave it like that , or roll it up and type it together with cheap, but pretty, ribbon and stick those in a basket for guest to pick up as they go to their seats
-sunblock: you could rent large umbrellas to place over the seated area in case of sun like these:

Reception:
table set-up/decor: for centerpieces you can go to a florist, but i'd 1st check out your garden for filler flowers, like hydrangeas and then you could add extra things like branches coming out of the top, or limes in the vase, or you could just put them in a silver bucket from the dollar store/ dollar tree. Another option would be to buy tons of baby's breath and put them in a vase and then tie a ribbon in your choice of a color around the vase into a nice bow. Just play around with cheap/yet elegant filler flowers until you find something you like.( if you need inspiration just google image whatever flower you choose and add centerpiece to the end. here are some websites with filler flowers:

-LIghting: i know that lighting isn't probably the first thing you think of when it comes to decorating your reception, but nothing can hurt a beautiful wedding reception more the florescent lighting. Good lighting really sets the right tone, so if you can spend the extra money on up-lighting i'd encourage it. But if you can't don't worry candles, and christmas lights are also great for this too, just gather up all christmas lights you have, your parents have, your friends have, your neighbors have,... you get the picture. DON'T buy any lights until you've exhausted your resources, almost everyone has christmas lights, and if you give them some heads up, and ask nicely there really is no reason you should have to buy new ones. One last addition for some lighting would be lanterns like these:

- Food if you and your family want to make the entire dinner the night before great!!! However, along with everything else you'll probably have to do that might be a bit much, i think that this is the time that you can call in a caterer
- cake/dessert: a wedding cake is traditional, but if you want to try some

What should I do for my birthday party?

So my 14th birthday is coming up, and I have no idea what to do. I need to have an awesome party!!! Trust me I have a good reputation of past parties! Hahaha it's gonna be girls and guys. Any ideas are appreciated. We are thinking about renting out summer camp place (high ropes course, lake, zipline, pool ect.) but I did something similar last year. Thanks!
