30th Birthday Party Ideas? Help!?

Q. My boyfriend is turning 30 in a few weeks and I have no clue what to do party wise. I bought him a 46" LCD TV and I'm taking him on a weekend get away trip but I know he would like a get together with friends as well. I bought plates, napkins, cups etc tonight and they are all the 30th birthday theme. What should I do about food? and Alcohol? And is there a tasteful way of putting on the invitation to bring a gift? All of his friends are moochers and always just come and eat, drink and leave a mess and never ever bring a gift! There his friends and he says he doesn't care but ewwa I think its tasteless. Thanks for your help!!

Answer
Food ~ pretend its a big game day party....guys like easy to eat finger food....
~try any of ~ pizza, ribs, meatballs, dips like spinach dip, cheese dip (cream cheese, canned chile no beans mix it together and heat), chips, pretzels, nachos (melt some cheese whiz, velveeta), salsa, beer bread, 3 foot sub...All meats can be bought pre-made, frozen, or ordered. Reheat, bake and serve.
Alcohol can be beer (a case or two, white wine, red wine...that's it. Cola, clear pop, a diet pop. Fancy drinks are not for this bunch.
Tell his friends to bring gifts and $20 each for the food, supplies, or drinks. You should at least get the $20.
If you are inviting moochers, then you have to spell it out for them.
They will find bringing money easier than a gift, so tell them there is a gift charge, party charge, entrance fee, or better to understand ~ or best yet ~~ a cover charge.
Face it, they are cretans...need to be told with as few choices or words what they have to do.
Don't worry about YOU being tasteless, they've got it covered.

30th birthday party theme have to match invitation?

Nice2You

party invites are pink black and white, however I do like the silver and yellow colors scheme and also the pink and orange color scheme as well. Its a summer party and I really dont like the decorations at party city. Im not really trying to spend a lot of money on printing stuff out either.

Answer
Maybe masquerade ball? You could add some silver in with the black, white and pink. Have everyone dress up and supply masks.. I'm sorry if that sounds too childish! Happy birthday!

Invitation sayings for a bowling party?

ilyhayley.

I'm having a birthday bowling party. I've googled and seen the pretty generic sayings for bowling invitations. Like: a party in the fast lane, spare an afternoon and strike out your calendars, etc. So, any good ones you guys know/come up with? :)

Answer
I'll be "bowled" over if you join my party.

(It's your party, so have fun with the invitations if you want to.)
