Is this tacky... childs birthday party invitations?

I decided to give in to his persistence and let him have his (4th) birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.

Is it tacky to write something to the effect of "children's lunch will be served" on the invites?????

Also... do you pay for the adults???

(We are expecting approx 16 children and 20+ adults.)
Served isn't the word I'm looking for. Can someone help me out?

Actually it's generally understood that when a child is invited to a Bday party at a child's place such as Chuck E. Cheese, lunch is included. it wouldn't be tacky to write that on the invites, but it isn't necessary, I don't think.

As far as adults go, NO WAY!!
You pay for the children invited and that's it....not even the siblings of the invitees. Just be sure to address the invitation to the child you are inviting instead of the "Baker family" or whatever. When I invite children to my kids' parties, I always address the envelope with only the child's name on the front so there is no confusion about whether or not all of the children in the family are invited. This may sound mean, but in reality, why would my turning nine year old son want a three year old little girl at his party just because the older brother is there?
If parents MUST bring the other children (or themselves) , they should expect to have to pay the way of the other child, right?

How do I send an invitation that states no siblings allowed?

I'm having a bowling birthday party and the venue only holds 50 people (this includes kids and adults) and my child is turning 4 so a lot of times both parents plus siblings come. Honestly, I would like it to state 1 parent and no siblings but that's a bit extreme. Any help appreciated.

Etiquette is about graciousness and respect, especially when it entails "thorny" situations. So informing your guests that the event is by invite only, and that only the invited child is welcome to come should be done tactfully. While standard etiquette would suggest that no one except the invited party is to attend, it is not uncommon for parents to assume the younger siblings are welcome. In order to insure that you abide by the limitations of the venue one suggestion would be to place a note at the bottom of the invitation: "Venue has limited capacity, please no siblings or additional guests".

I already sent out the invitations and did not put "adults only" on it for fear that they will think its a party to get drunk, because thats the type of people they are. it is only adults coming and their child is a spoiled whiney bratty 3 year old. this kid disrupts the whole party with tantrums.
so whats a nice way to say adults only without seeming like an invitation to get smashed?

Call them on the telephone and tell them that you forgot to put "for adults only". If they say they cannot come then so be it, your party will still be a success without them.
