I am interested in having my 21st birthday at a water park on a saturday. But also I want to go to dinner that night also. How do I word the invitation so they know that they are going to have to pay for their entry to the water park and for their dinner?

Answer
This is not a birthday party invitation. Guests do not pay.

You may calla and say, 'Hey, let's go to the waterpark on .......; afterwards I wanted to invite you to my place for a birthday supper."

I must say that the logistics to this will be pretty rough. Unless you have a really wonderful family who has the time and ability to prepare a birthday supper for you and your friends (hint; this could be their birthday gift to you) you will need to rethink things. How about going to the water-park on another day? On your birthday you can prepare a nice supper or prepare for a party for your friends. Actually, I love to prepare a special birthday supper for my friends on my birthday. It's fun staying home and getting ready, looking forward to the evening and just being with your family and talking.

If you cannot afford to pay for everyone to attend both the waterpark and supper, then you are obligated to host a supper or party that you can afford.

Happy Birthday, and have fun!
