georgina

this is a very small party for a 4 year old.

Answer
First of all, is there a theme? You can use your theme to word your invites.
This is what I used for my daughter's 3rd b-day with a Dora theme:

Please Join Us for a Fiesta to celebrate
(Your child's name)'s 4th Birthday!!!
on Saturday, March 24th, 2007
from 2:00pm until 5:00pm
at our house
321 Fake St.
City, State, Zip
Get ready to party!!!

RSVP
(phone #)
(email address)

Or start with
(Child's name) is turning 4!
Join us in celebrating!!!

This site has 100 different poems and limericks to use on your invites...both boy/girl themes, etc. It's a great idea.

Ideas for a 6yr old Little Girl Birthday party?

army4wife

I am trying to plan my daughter's 6th birthday party and have drew a blank on any good ideas. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg to throw the party but want it to be FUN for her and her friends.

HELPPPPPPP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
6 year olds... hmmm...
they'd most probably like a specific character(s)
(i.e barney,dora the explorer,barbie)
ask them and do a party with that theme.

*Color Station: Direct the kids to an area where you have crayons, pencils, coloring books, dot-to-dots, etc. That way you have children occupied until all birthday party guests arrive.

Party supplies:
try to get some stuff from the party shop,
e.g you are doing barbie, you could just buy a banner
with 'happy birthday' on it and print a barbie picture and stick it on, rather than wasting your time finding a barbie-ish banner.(Better not, make one yourself)
Hang balloons around the front of your home.Tape crepe paper streamers to the doorframe, so the guests get to walk through them

Cake, unless you are really talented, get one from the bakery.
Have a picture of her face with her favourite toy or something or her favourite character. You can buy the size of cakes according to how many people attending the party.

Games,well,you could try these:
Red Light / Green Light
Duck Duck Goose
musical chairs
Red Rover
Three-Legged Race
Tag

Or be creative and make some of your own:
Freeze Barbie : All of them be princesses and dance around
when the music stops, they stop.

Makeover Station: Invite each girl to sit down and receive a makeover with face painting, hair ribbons, nail stickers and accessories. You can use glitter makeup, clip-on earrings, hats, crowns, sparkly belts, capes for boys and other accessories. Ask extra adult or teenager to help out with the activity.

Tailor the games to your child's level of development. Age could be a factor, so test a certain game on your child before the party when in doubt.

Have several child birthday party games planned that kids are familiar with. That way you can always rely on "proven games".

If your kid is old enough, ask him or her what child party games and activities he or she wants to have during the party. Your kid will feel great about his or her contribution to overall party success.

Goodie Bags can be bought from one-dollar stores.
If princess themed, buy plastic crowns and give it to them.
Bring home samples from make-up stores and let them try it and decorate their own face/your face. It also helps build their creativity.

Prepare a favor bag for each birthday party guest. Fill bags with items such as tiaras, confetti, necklaces, sunglasses, little notebooks, stickers, candy, bubble gum, and so on.

For an additional activity, have guests decorate their own bags at the start of the party with stickers, stamps, and crayons.

Invitation Cards

Here's how to make your own birthday party invitations. Cut out 8x10 postcards from a colorful cardstock paper. Fold postcards in half. Glue a photo of your child on the inside flap.

Write "It's A..." above the picture and "___ Party (e.g barbie doll) below it with glitter glue. Include birthday party details on the other side of the invitation. Put invitations in envelopes with a sprinkle of glitter for a special touch.

Food

Pizza Faces: Split pizza dough and top them with shredded cheese and pizza sauce. Let the kids decorate them as their own pizza. Children may use pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and peppers to make funny faces. Then, bake it.

Heart-shaped Sandwiches: Make sandwiches and cut them into heart shapes.

Star Cookies: Prepare the birthday child's favorite cookies. Cut into star shapes before baking. Decorate with sprinkles.

Yummy Bowl :Have candies and lollipops in a bowl on your party table.

Try to find out what are the taste buds of party guests (e.g allergies) to cater to their food taste. After all, you want your child and her friends to feel good.
