What do I say on a cancellation party notice?

dmoreno235

I have sent out invitations for my dad's 90th birthday dinner/dance. We have had very few responses from the number of those who plan to attend. In addition my father's health is not that great. What do I say on the notice to cancell the party?
It was scheduled as a surprise party so Dad knows nothing. He has the beginings of Alzheimers. We will do something special with him as a family, his chilfdren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thanks for the great feedback.

I have had plenty of parties where people don't RSVP and just show up. If you are going to cancel, send out the cancellation to everyone. Personally, I would ask your father if he wants to have the party. If he does, move forward. If not, then cancel. Parties don't have to be huge to be fun. Just accommodate for a small or large setting. I don't know where you were planning on having it but a restaurant or relatives house would be the best option.

If had to cancel, I'd write something like:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to cancel (the party date, time, and place). If you would like to wish (father's name) a "Happy Birthday", please send card to (address).

Does anyone know a free website for making birthday invitations?

The invitations would be for a 90 year old man's b-day party. If that helps.
